What a great burger spot in West Yellowstone! The restaurant is named after Teddy Roosevelt and is warm and inviting. The staff is all local as you can't get here if you're not due to its remote location just outside of Yellowstone National Park.The American burger I ordered was perfectly cooked - tasty with cheddar cheese, bacon, and bully sauce - a this spicy mayo/ketchup that is delicious. The brioche bun has Teddy branded on the too, and is fries are with skin on. Yummy all around. They were offering a donut bun for Mother's Day. The whole time they gave a screen with Present Roosevelt's information scrolling which is simply amazing what he accomplished in life. Food quality is easily 5/5, but the prices push my overall rating to 4/5. We ordered one American Burger and one Frontier Sheriff, upgrading the latter to bison for an extra $5.50. Both were a generous size, and the side fries were excellent. I'd skip the salad unless you're really craving greens. We enjoyed both burgers. They didn't ask for a preferred doneness on the patties, but they were cooked very well regardless. The bison patty was especially impressive--juicy and not dry at all. My Frontier Sheriff came drenched in beer cheese sauce (a win for any cheese lover), which made it harder to judge the patty on its own, but the sauce itself was delicious. The only real miss was the beer-battered onion ring, which was almost nonexistent. The American Burger was simple, classic, and very satisfying. I also liked the buns; they felt somewhere between brioche and white bread, soft but sturdy enough to complement the enormous patties. Service was pleasant and friendly. After 11 hours in Yellowstone, I was tired, sore, and hungry. The last two restaurants I tried had long lines (or just straight up ignored me), so I tried TR's Burgers. Good news: I was immediately seated. Bad news: It was one of those high chairs with tiny seats. At this point, I just wanted to eat and leave; so, I asked the waiter to bring me the fried mac and cheese and the Frontier Sheriff with bison meat to go. Probably should have been concerned when the waiter didn't ask me how I'd like my burger cooked. Price tag: ~$44. The meal was brought out pretty quickly, which is good; because the seat was super uncomfortable and it was hot in there. When I open my bag, I discover they have forgotten my fries. Awesome: a $26.50 burger a la carte. The fried mac and cheese was decent, but the burger was lame. Overcooked, flavorless, completely covered in insipid cheese sauce. I barely had anything to eat today, and I still had to force myself to finish the burger. I have no idea why this place has good reviews. Bad and overcooked burgers, super high prices, uncomfortable setting, and they forgot my fries. I guess they don't make you wait for a table like every other restaurant in West Yellowstone, so there's that. read more

I wouldn't say anything in particular puts this place over the top. The burger was good, and big. Fries were the 'hand cut' style which usually leads to some of the fries under cooked. My daughter had the kids Mac and cheese and said it was good. She was a bit nervous at first but relieved in the end. Vibes were a 10/10, food was pretty solid, the servers were really nice, but service was REALLY slow. A family of four sitting next to us waited 50 minutes just for fries and another 15 minutes to get their burgers. We came in with a larger party (11) so it's understandable that our food took longer but we still waited 40 minutes for salads to come out and another 20 for the burgers to come. When the salads came they were missing the chicken and they had no crispy jalapeño like the menu advertised. Half of our fries were room temperature and half were piping hot. I think people who got the burgers were very satisfied, but everything just took a long time. They were clearly short staffed that day but they didn't warn us when we came in that service would be slow, or check in with us after we were seated to explain their situation. Wow, wow, wow!!! This has to be one of my top favorite burgers of all time! The quality of the meat and flavor was sooooo good. I ordered it without the sauce it came with and added garlic aioli on the side. If you can't due certain sauces due to diet restrictions, the burger itself was so juicy (not greasy) and flavorful that it honestly didn't need it. Everything else in the photo is what the burger came with, which is great because I really like toppings. The fries were also really good... crunchy but not greasy. 10/10. Had lunch here while visiting in Aug. Small place just slightly 'off the beaten path' - (ie just down the street from all of the other restaurants in town). The burgers are huge but creative and delicious!! We started with the garlic cheese curds served with huckleberry dipping sauce. Would have been even better if normal (not garlic) but they were still good. The burgers were cooked perfectly. My Mom and I split the Conservationist and it was really yummy - only thing that would have made it better would have been caramelized onions. I decided to treat myself to a hefty burger after a long day of hiking. After seeing the reviews, I was excited to give this place a try. Parking was easy to find on the street. The interior is T. Roosevelt theme which is not surprising, given the name of the restaurant. It's small and cute, with indoor and outdoor seating available. While the burger patty is standard on all, you can't adjust how you want it cooked, I had difficulty narrowing it to one because all the burger options sounded so good. I ultimately landed at the San Juan (includes avocado spread, crispy jalapenos). You can "Call the Cavalry" which means you want to include lettuce, tomato, onions, etc. My burger was so good and savory. The avocado definitely made my burger so filling and satisfying to eat. I visited TR's Burgers with four (4) members of my family on the afternoon of Thursday June 18, 2026. It was our 2nd visit to TRs during our stay in West Yellowstone. The service was great on both occasions as was the quality of the food with one troubling exception. I ordered a Yell Dog hotdog. Other members of my party ordered a variety of other items. Soon after taking our order the server returned to our table to advise me that they were out of hot dog buns adding that a kitchen staff member was going out to get more buns. There would be a slight (estimated 3 minute) delay in getting my order my order, asking if this would be OK. I told her it would be fine. Other members of my party received their food and within a few minutes my hotdog appeared. Sadly my first bite revealed that the hotdog was anything but hot. Room temperature at best. I ate the "hotdog" only because I was hungry. It was a most unpleasant experience. When I mentioned the problem to our server to her credit she was most apologetic. As I was leaving TRs I asked to speak to the manager. On hearing my complaint he said "Sorry about that...". I would have expected a wee bit more of a reaction. Again, the service was great it's just that when I pay $15.50 for a hotdog I expect the hotdog to be hot...it was quite obvious that my hotdog sat in the kitchen cooling off while someone ran out to a nearby store to buy buns. read more

Every bite was cooked just right and honestly, one of the better burgers I've had in a while. But food aside, the service and the way we were treated made this a disappointing experience. When our server came to our table, she said something that really threw us off. Her exact words were, "We don't normally serve people like you." I didn't understand what she meant, so I asked her more than once. Each time, she just said "sorry" with no explanation. There were four of us at the table, all from different cultural and racial backgrounds, and we all heard it. We all felt uncomfortable and confused. It's not okay to say something like that to guests, no matter what the intent was. Even if it was some kind of joke, it didn't feel right. The energy throughout the rest of the visit was tense, and the server didn't really engage with us after that. I don't know what her comment was supposed to mean, but it made all of us feel like we didn't belong. And when you're spending your money and choosing to eat out, that's the last thing you should feel. The food deserves praise, but how we were treated made the whole experience hard to enjoy. I won't be returning, and I hope the restaurant addresses situations like this seriously. read more

Our party chose outdoor dining but later asked to be moved inside (before we even ordered food, mind you) due to the road noise and heavy wind. We were begrudgingly accommodated. Our server's attitude changed from that point forward. Once our food arrived, one member of our party realized it was not what they ordered. Also, fix your menu. You're setting your customers AND waitstaff up for failure naming menu items "the ranger" and "the rancher". Creativity must have been low on menu design day.
