Just like at an airport restaurant, I'm sure the name of the game here (for diners and the staff) is quickly getting out a meal that won't cause a stir, either good or bad*. And if you just want a little something to keep your stomach from groaning through (or over) whatever show you've come to see, then this will do. I visited on opening night of a show and our poor server seemed like he was covering half the restaurant. We did see that some sort of private, catered conference event was also ongoing, but I'm sure opening night and said conference didn't just drop on the schedule out of the blue. They could've planned a little better and ensured service was smooth for guests and staff. (I still made the show in plenty of time, as I'd arrived with enough time and ordered quickly). The food was passable. The harvest autumn salad was decidedly "good" but with a few extra touches could have been great. The shrimp wrap was "well, alright." The wrap job served up mostly bites of lettuce before revealing shrimp at both ends, and said shrimp had a liiiittle too much straight char. A light sauce could've cut that bitterness, and would've made the straight lettuce bites a bit more interesting. The dirty soda was good. Trying to pull up the menu, I'm now seeing that Three Embers had an entire menu based off of the current show, Million Dollar Quartet Christmas. I'd say try going there. I wish I had. *Alternatively, the name of the game is "Well you're stuck here, what are your other options?" We came here for dinner before the theater. The menu has been updated and IMHO for the better. We got seated right away. Got our water in less than a minute . We ordered the black and blue burger, and the cheesesteak, and small caesar salad. I decided to add the new loaded house made potato chips. The chips and salad came right out. The caesar's was amazing. really good dressing and fresh lettuce and crunchy croutons. The chips are a killer item. Only thing is I wish there was more of the sauce and bacon. The burger had to be a 1/2 pound. Had I known that I wouldn't have had the cheesesteak. The cheesesteak came with dipping sauce. But honestly I filled up on the chips and so barely touched the sandwich. What I had was good. Regarding the service, it was quite disappointing--bland, slow, and uncaring. For example, we ordered short ribs and salmon. The short ribs arrived dried out, blackened, and appeared to have been sitting under a warmer for hours, with no sauce. The salmon came out cold and also without sauce. When the waiter was informed of the issues, he looked confused, and we had to explain what we wanted to happen. We received a second round of food, which was better, but there was no compensation on the bill for the extended wait and inconvenience. I would not recommend this place for dinner, as we observed others experiencing similar issues. Service is not that good. Wait staff seems to be shorthanded. Been there many times before going to the theatre next door. The convenience of being so close to the theatre is why I go there. Food is filling but nothing to write home about. The kitchen is on an upper level and waiters are constantly climbing up and down. That slows them down. If I needed to entertain a business client, I'd head to one of the much better restaurants on nearby Milwaukee Avenue. Also, numerous times the tables are not fully balanced on the floor. You need several napkins or bar coasters to put under the legs to stop the tipping from side to side. Tells me careful maintenance is poor. read more

It's easy to access through the theater entrance now I know. We went around through the resort side. If you have show subscriptions use the coupons that come with it for about 25% off your bill. We were seated right away and Jordan our server made contact with us quickly. I'm sure they are aware that many people dine here before a show so they get you in and out in a timely manner. It's a casual dining spot that gives off slight fancy vibes. They have a good selection of food. We started with the BBQ wings. I'm not sure if we were extra hungry but those wings were freaking delicious. Evenly crisped. Well tossed and and came out quick for our appetizer. Our main meal we got the Meatloaf Sandwich with fries and the Italian beef with fries. I love meatloaf and to have it in sandwich form was different but it was tasty. The sub bread for the Italian beef had just as much flavor as the beef. They put the giardeniera on the side but it's not extra spicy. We were staying at the Marriott resort and weren't in the mood to drive for dinner, so we thought we'd give Wright's a try. We weren't expecting much from a place in the resort, but we were mistaken. We had the Chicken Cascadia and Cheese Curds for appetizers and we were pleasantly surprised that they both had the lightest tortilla and breading we have had on these dishes. We ordered a small Ceasar Salad and a Portabello Mushroom sandwich for the main course and the sandwich was one of the best Portabello sandwiches I've had. It had roasted red peppers and spinach, which put it over the top. The Ceasar Salad was tasty, but a little heavy on the dressing. If you're here at the Marriott resort, give Wright's a try. We stopped in after spending all day at our conference at the hotel. R. Cole asked if we had a reservation. The place was empty. We sat at the bar, which my wife hates. One couple was sitting in the whole restaurant, and when we left, the same couple was there. As it turned out, the reservations were for the theater people, who wouldn't be there until well after we ate. One of the employees said he had no idea why Rowdy Roddy Cole would do such a thing. This is a great place to chat with fellow road warriors, watch the game, or engage with 80's movie trivia with the hospitality manager. The smoky Old Fashioned is a signature drink and they have many other top shelf bourbons and whiskeys available. They have a long list of fancy drinks, but do the bartenders and patrons a favor and stick with simplicity. You will be rewarded! Wright's Brew & Bistro is the casual restaurant concept at the Marriott Resort. You wouldn't guess it if you didn't know, but it is essentially behind the Marriott Theatre. If you enter via the theater entrance, you can go upstairs and turn down the hall to the right (toward the bathrooms), where you'll find the elevator downstairs, right outside the two restaurants. This is much easier than walking all the way around the resort to get there--ask me how I know! We thought the food was quite good, and the service was okay. I especially like choosing one of the two restaurants at the resort because they're very cognizant that a good volume of their customers are there for a musical, and are careful to get folks in and out in time for curtain. Because we live in Chicago and often are going to a Friday show, we often only have about an hour to dine, which is still enough time from arrival to check. Wright's Brew & Bistro has a nice range of options with price points that are affordable on a variety of budgets, and the food was high quality. Unless I'm looking for something a bit fancier, this will probably be my go-to for dinner before an evening at Marriott Theatre. read more

A bit of a disappointing experience, based on the other excellent services offered at the Marriott resort. Just as Jeffrey G. stated, the service is very slow and the food preparation is inconsistent. Considering the price of items here -- I was hoping for a slightly better experience. On the positive side, the restaurant itself is very spacious and the decor is modern and attractive. This is where the concept is a little confusing as the design and furniture suggest that this is a pub but prices and food options suggest that this is a bit more fancy than the typical bar. Here's my thoughts on the items I tried: Strip steak: Ordered medium rare, came out almost well done. Lots of char on the meat, but there was hardly any seasoning. Asparagus and green beans: Fresh but fairly bland. Pretzel rolls: Nice, hot and fluffy. Was a good way to start the meal. Grilled salmon: Also a bit overcooked. Despite all the sauces and various elements surrounding the meat (which made it visually appealing) -- these were all fairly bland as well. Baked potato: Fairly standard, the sour cream and butter didn't add much flavor to this. I wish that a different potato option was offered or possibly 2 smaller potatoes instead of 1 large one. Cinnamon donuts: Alright, there was a good flavor of cinnamon but this didn't stand out against grocery store donut holes. The generic descriptions here were due to the very basic nature of the preparation of the food. It was very simple and fairly underseasoned -- less than the style of food I would expect from a wedding banquet. Given the delightful surprises I've experienced from the other areas of the Marriott resort, I am a bit disappointed that the food here doesn't match the same high standard. My Girl and I ended up eating out right while staying at the Marriott resort Lincolnshire. She had the grilled cheese and I had the chicken quesadilla. Both of us are not small people and all and yet we were pretty full. So needless to say you will definitely get a good portion of food. The only thing I will say is that it's pretty pricey which is what you would expect from a hotel restaurant. So definitely bring your wallet. That being said I highly recommend this place. We went there as it came highly recommended by our friends on a Saturday afternoon. Very relax and casual pool view Bistro. All the food was not just great but excellent. The only reason I gave a poor rating is because the our very first order, the buffalo wings appetizer was not appetizing atall. The carrots and celery were cut probably hrs ahead and stored inwater or frozen. It even had a peel off carrot stuck on the carrots. The water discharge created a well on the plate and got the wings soggy. I have pictures as nobody wanted to dig into the wings. That I would say is a utter ignorance on the part of chef and not let the side or presentation part of the dish be overlooked and spoil all the efforts made into making such delicious meal go to waste :( read more

Not many reviews in the recent past, especially the covid era, so thought I'd add one. I was staying at the Marriott for work and was too tired to do anything for dinner other than wander downstairs (ie this was not a destination dining excursion). I was wary given past reviews, but it exceeded my expectations. Service was prompt, friendly and attentive. Food was good. I had a nicely flavorful small Caesar salad to start, followed by a nicely prepared braised beef rib with nice crispy onions, asparagus and mashed potatoes. It more than hit the spot, and was nicely accompanied by a local beer. had I read a review like this on Yelp, I wouldn't have been so hesitant to dine at the hotel, and it really was quite good and deserves some love. Wright's really has it all wrong wrong and wrong!! I made a reservation for 8:30 (not knowing that the place would be empty) for my friend and myself this evening. We arrived to the Lincolnshire Marriott and there was simply no parking, thankfully the weather was lovely and we had a nice walk to the entrance. The restaurant is BEAUTIFUL, decorated in today's colors and style all the way. Beautiful bar with brilliant lighting and countertops you want to go touch because they just look amazing! The entire dining experience was AWFUL, not because of our server but because of the lack of help. The entire place had a revolving bar of folks and 3 tables occupied and ONE PERSON handling it all. Our server/bartender told us he was "doing it all" and for the load that he had on his hands he was doing a wonderful job!! Unfortunately there is only so much that one human being can do and so here goes..... We ordered drinks and they arrived but not as described on the drink menu at all, gross!! What a sugar fest and the coconut lime drink didn't even remotely resemble the description on the menu. We ordered the "onion dip" appetizer and the dip was all runny from sitting under a heat lamp, it's supposed to be a cold dip. My portobello sandwich was disgusting, the mushroom was rubbery and bland with no seasoning, the red peppers were straight out of a can or jar, the roll it was served on was hard as a rock from sitting under the service window with heat light because the food was cold but the places were toasty hot, what do you expect when you have one person working the dining area and bar and the rest of the folks just standing around doing nothing at all, the bus boy was combing his hair and hanging out with the gal who is supposed to be the hostess. At all time the employees with the exception of one man who was manning the bar as well as the 3 tables in the place were just "hanging out" and doing nothing. There was no management present, there was no care. I'm proud of the one man who was working this evening and realize that it's impossible for one person to handle a revolving bar and tables too, he was kind and did his best. The rest of the staff was non existent and just hanging out, no joke... we watched one guy standing over the ledge and combing his hair, the hostess seated at the bar and workers congregated and "hanging out". I'm a local and like to dine out, this place has nothing which stands out or is served with any sort of pride whatsoever. Not a place to return to, not even for free. Our table was never cleared once, water never refilled or checked on, food came out cold cold and cold but with hot plates. We happily tipped the server over 20 percent because he was the ONLY ONE WORKING. Not sure what is wrong with the management of this place, if you are staying at this hotel and need a place to eat there are LOTS LOTS of options within 2 miles, way better. read more

It is extremely rare to meet someone who holds the bar so high that you want to just clone him, because god knows you will travel many moons without seeing anyone even coming close. And we learn to lower our standards and accept that. No more ! The man created a mean smoked Manhattan that, quite simply, must be experienced.
