I always sit at the bar and talk with the waitresses or waiters while I enjoy my drink, talking about our days, what's going on in life, then 10-15 mins later my food comes out! Always exactly what I order, never unsatisfied with food quality, and most importantly I feel welcome! Since I have gone so many times, once I'm recognized, we make jokes that I always order "the usual," an iced tea with a bbq bacon cheeseburger (and it's true, lol). Overall, if you are ever on a roadtrip, in town shopping around, or hanging with friends, and want to get a quick bite to eat, chat with someone locally, the Nighthawk Tavern is the place to go!

Menus and water were served promptly and the food was brought to our table piping hot. Even the fries, the failure point for most restaurants were hit and crisp. The pizzas, described as Chicago Style, were a thin crust pie. (Somebody needs to visit Chicago-Town for a primer). But, both pies disappeared. A fajita bowl and burrito bowl both vanished. My Greek gyro was overstuffed with lamb and fillings. Absolutely fantastic. And the spicy chicken fingers also vanished. Zero leftovers on ole servings. The food was that good. And service was attentive and water was consistently refilled. Just one caveat, for larger groups, Nighthawk Tavern adds a gratuity to the check. They're very transparent, as the tip is clearly shown. I still added a few bucks to the total. If you're in Dahlonega. you'll be more than happy with Nighthawk Tavern. And you certainly won't leave hungry.

This is near…read moredowntown Dahlonega along a ridgeline road and shares a parking lot with what looks to have once been a Western Sizzler that's now some type of church. The small parking lot I think is plenty big, as this is a smaller Pizza Hut location. I do love these retro Pizza Hut Classic stores - as with the other I've visited near Lake Hartwell, this is an original building with the pagoda-like roof and trapezoidal windows. This one has the original booths, original salad bar and the nook near the payphone where a stand-up video game would stand (sadly missing) - even the bathrooms (or at least the Men's) have original tile. I grew up eating Pizza Hut as a kid - it was a special place back then, a destination for what we thought of as upscale dining. Of course over the years it lost much of it's charm and became buried in the myriad available dining experiences at other restaurants. I didn't know that I missed this chain until it almost disappeared, turning in to another Domino's, Papa John's or Little Caesar's. So happy that these Classic locations have been making a comeback. As with my other-location visit, I opted for a 14" pan pizza - just as delicious as I remembered. Service was really exceptional at this location with servers who seemed to like being there, they even had the classic red cups. Kudos - I'm stopping again the next time I'm in the area.

We walked in the door as our Pan Pizza was coming out of the oven. At first taste we realized this was the Pizza Hut we grew up on, not the one they are serving at other locations. They even have the salad bar. Oh my DELICIOUS! A little add on to the sign out front we missed. Pizza Hut CLASSIC. Okay, I told you enough, make the trip and then head into downtown Dahlonega for a day of meandering through the shops. Oh, I forgot the pictures, but will try to update on our next trip. Yes, we will be visiting again.

This was about…read more10-15 minutes from campus (downtown Dahlonega) I attended a wedding of my friends Katherine and Chris at the winery - honestly I didn't taste any of the wine (yes I know, bad) but enjoyed myself. The venue is pretty spectacular with great views of the surrounding hills and valleys along with the vineyards as the hang of the side of the mountain. There were two aspects that pushed my opinion down a bit, neither are really the fault of the venue or business so I've stayed with the 5-stars. The wedding was held in an outdoor pavilion with great views, but during the first week of August quite hot. There are ceiling fans but they didn't help too much - I was sweltering in my jacket and tie by the time the ceremony ended (just be aware if you book something here during the hot season). The second, there are a lot of stairs as you are on the side of a mountain. If you have a hard time traversing a lot of stairs, there are other means of getting around so once again be aware. The main "hall" has windows with fantastic views. I thought the food was exceptional and wish I had taken more photos, but there were a lot of poor lighting (I was seated next to the dance area). My apologies for the missing check in and the lack of photos but I didn't want to be obnoxious at a wedding. Overall I love the rustic charm of this place and plan to return and more fully explore the wine offerings. I thought the service was exceptional with very accommodating staff, especially the bartenders.

We parked at the bottom of the venue and had to climb the stairs to the top. If you're lucky, you might catch a ride in the golf cart, but if you're seated in the back, hold on tight because it's a steep ride! We came for the Sunday brunch buffet, which features a different theme each month and never disappoints. If brunch isn't your thing, you can enjoy a wine tasting in the tasting room located below the main dining area. If you're there for brunch, you're also allowed to go back and forth between the tasting room and dining room during your allotted table time. I definitely recommend visiting any time of year; the views alone are worth the trip!

We had a reservation for dinner on 12/20 at 6:30 pm. Knowing it was the holiday season and that Dahlonega is a popular destination, we intentionally made a reservation so our family could enjoy a relaxed dinner together during our visit. Unfortunately, the experience fell short in several ways. Cons: Despite having a reservation, we waited an excessive amount of time to be seated. Once seated, our table was visibly dirty. When a server finally came by, bread was delivered without plates, utensils, or napkins, which required an additional long wait. Service throughout the meal was extremely slow. We watched several other parties arrive, dine, and leave while we were still waiting. The chicken piccata was not prepared correctly and tasted more like a sour Alfredo-style sauce. The steak was chewy and not cooked as ordered. Pros: We received a small complimentary cannoli for a birthday, which was appreciated. The ambiance was festive and nice for the holidays. Had we known about the level of service and food quality ahead of time, we would have chosen to dine elsewhere during our visit. It's disappointing to say, but based on this experience, I would not retur

The Cumming location is great, but the Dahlonega location needs some support in the food. The ambience and service is always great, that's not the issue . Sadly it seems I'll have to wait another 3 years before I try this place again.
