"Out of Office" cocktail. Super good and an easy drinker.
    Jamie M.

Met some friends here an hour before our reservation to have drinks at the bar, and the two bartenders took great care of us. They walked through their most popular cocktails, and they made us feel very welcome and not rushed in the least. I had the "ready for takeoff" cocktail, which was very unique, and it was a great start to the evening. After wrapping up cocktails, we checked in at the front and were sat very quickly at a table with a wonderful view of the Chattahoochee River. The restaurant sits on a very nice section of the river and is wildly picturesque. There were also quite a few tables out on the back lawn overlooking the river, so those would be great for dinner if the weather permits during your visit. Our group ordered up the oysters and pimento cheese fritters for starters, and the presentation of the oysters was off the charts cool. I typically do not eat oysters during summer months, but these were from the Pacific Northwest and were delicious. For the main, I ordered the horseradish crusted grouper over brussels sprouts, Cremini mushrooms for my first side, and french fries, for my second side. All of the food was fantastic, and the only thing that was not to my liking was the temperature the fish was served. It was warm, and I usually prefer my dishes, piping hot. We had a cup of coffee to wrap up dinner, but the dessert menu you look great; maybe next time! I have to give kudos to our waitress, as she was bubbly, very knowledgeable about everything to do with the menu or the restaurant, and her timing was impeccable. I believe her name was Tanisha, and they should have her name up in the marque lights, as she thrives and does such a great job at Ray's. EAT AT RAY'S!!!!

Great views, food is solid. Great place for a business dinner. Sometimes a bit over salted and service can be a bit slow, but they have been in business for 42 years for a reason

Martinis: The Meredith $18. Grey Goose vodka, extra dirty, Castelvetrano olives. What's the Catch $18. Absolut, Chinola passion fruit, etc.

Update: I recently returned to Ray's on the River for the first time in ages. This place is an Atlanta institution. Still good. Simply put, this place suffices for a nice night out if you're looking for steak, seafood, and elevated American/Southern food. They also serve weekday lunch and weekend brunch. Note: Even though the Ray's restaurants are unique to metro Atlanta, this place does have a more corporate/chain feel to it (not saying that's a bad thing). Book your reservation using OpenTable and get dining points. Parking is complimentary valet. I tipped using Venmo. We visited on a Sunday night and the dining room was fairly busy. Here's what I tried: Martinis: * The Meredith ($18) - Grey Goose vodka, extra dirty, Castelvetrano olives * What's the Catch ($18) - Absolut vanilla vodka, Chinola passion fruit liqueur, lychee, lemon Starters: * Pimento Fritters ($17) - original Ray's 1984 recipe, jalapeño jelly * Calamari "Fritto Misto" ($18) - flash-fried, baby vegetables, Ray's aioli Soups & Salads: * Ray's Greens ($14) - Bibb lettuce, fennel, radish, herbs, mustard vinaigrette Seafood: * Horseradish Crusted Black Grouper ($52) - Atomic Horseradish cracker crust, seasonal vegetables, Dijonnaise Sides: * Whipped Potatoes ($14) * Brussels Sprouts ($14) - bacon and shallot jam Desserts: * Warm Butter Cake ($12) - lemon butter cake, blueberry compote, vanilla ice cream * Chocolate Brownie Sundae ($12) - caramelized bananas, strawberries, pecans, vanilla ice cream, chocolate sauce Everything was delicious. I enjoyed the martinis and was pleasantly surprised by Ray's Greens (I love salad) and the grouper. The Pimento Fritters are heavy, but can be considered a must, especially if you're entertaining guests from out of town. The desserts were fantastic. Good service. The staff was nice.

So, this was my second time coming in for my birthday. Service did not match the last time I was in, which is unfortunate that there is inconsistent service here. Our service was pretty slow. It took the waiter forever for anything. He was pretty forgetful. He was nice, but slow. I got the petit filet, and I asked for medium rare. Everyone at the table did. We all seem to have gotten steaks that were medium-to well done. Mashed potatoes were bland. Rolls, mac n cheese, and bruschetta was good! Also, it's really humid inside. Not sure if it's because we were sitting by a door....but I kinda remember this the last time I was there. The view is gorgeous!

We decided on dinner here while visiting Atlanta. This place was incredible and our service was impeccable. The restaurant was absolutely gorgeous. They did everything right! The food. Wowsers!! So fantastic. Definitely a place to check out while in Atlanta!

Top tier everything!!! Customer Service, food, wait staff everything was better than perfect. The food was exquisite and very tasty. I will be returning soon!!! I just enjoyed the entire experience this past Saturday. By far my best dining experience in a long while.

We had reservations at 5:45, perfectly timed ahead of the evening rush, and once again Rays at the River delivered an incredible experience. This was our second visit, and it's clear this place knows how to make every evening feel special. For drinks, the fig old fashioned was a standout--smooth, balanced, and full of flavor. Our daughter enjoyed a classic burger piled high with shoestring fries, while Nicole and I tackled the seafood platter for four (yes, for four!) and happily annihilated every bite. To finish, the butter cake was decadent and paired beautifully with two pours of Angel Falls bourbon. A huge shoutout to our host, Mike, who was extremely accommodating and seemed to know exactly how to elevate the night. His attention to detail and warm hospitality made the evening feel effortless and memorable. Rays at the River has now impressed us twice, and we can confidently say it's always a fun, flavorful, and welcoming experience. We'll absolutely be back again soon!

Ray's on the River delivered an amazing experience from start to finish. We went on a Friday night and sat at the bar, and everyone, from the staff to the other guests, was incredibly friendly and welcoming. Our bartender was fantastic. She checked on us often and gave great recommendations. We ordered the Wagyu filet, ahi tuna, and also shared a Caesar salad, which was fresh, well-balanced, and a great way to start the meal. Everything was absolutely delicious and perfectly prepared. I started with a classic Old Fashioned, which was excellent. I did venture into the holiday cocktail menu and tried the Jingle Juice, which wasn't quite my favorite, so I happily went back to the Old Fashioned. The atmosphere really tied everything together. There was live music playing in the background, the football game was on, and the Christmas decor was top-notch, making the whole night feel festive and fun. Great food, great drinks, great service, and an overall fantastic vibe.

    Turkey Club with garlic aioli

Absolutely amazing! We came at opening on a Saturday for our 10 year anniversary and it did not disappoint. The service was quick and very friendly, Tangie is so sweet! We ordered the turkey club, vodka pasta, and mac and cheese and they were all a 10/10. The lemon butter cake was a stand out and we ate every bite. Obviously the view is spectacular, definitely sit outside and take a walk by the river after your meal. We saw a river otter! The music was also fantastic and set a great vibe. Overall, a wonderful experience and we will definitely return to try the brunch menu.

4.7 This was an excellent dinner spot, we started with the pimento fritters which were very good, as well as the bread which was very rich and buttery. I had a caesar salad which tasted good but didn't have as much dressing as a typical caesar/ the flavor might not be as potent. I had the Salmon Oscar and it was excellent the salmon was cooked well and the whipped potatoes made each bite smooth and creamy, alternating between the crab and salmon was very enjoyable. I also had a bite of the risotto with scallops and it was very flavorful. We had the fries as well as the mac and cheese for sides and they were very solid. The service was as expected, they don't rush you. The view is very pretty and it was beautiful outside. Will be back for sure.

I made it to this Atlanta fixture in the restaurant scene. Open since the 80s they still have IT! My birthday club decided on this restaurant to celebrate one of the members birthday and it was the perfect choice. Walking into the restaurant we were by beautiful understated decor. But the view of the river was so peaceful. I got there early and initially had a drink at the bar. The golden hour was mixed perfectly. Not too sweet, just how I like it. At lunch what stood out for me was the grouper.... So moist and the crust so crunchy and flavorful. I also really enjoyed the pimento cheese fritters, so yummy. The servers there were professional, knowledgeable and very warm and hospitable. The team also brought out a complimentary dessert for the birthday girl! We truly appreciate that. Things to know: post dinner take a walk to the river there is seating for guest. Great way to wind down post dinner. Also there is lots of free parking on site.

Rays is a fine dining experience all around. No short cuts. A little disappointed when my wife's grouper came out undercooked. No big deal, they took it back and re made her dish, but didn't bother to take it off the check. A little surprising since everyone else at the table was almost finished before she got her re made dish. The food and service were excellent though.

We had a reservation for a Friday night at 8:15, very easy to get a reservation through open table. We get to the restaurant at 8:20, complimentary valet (super nice!) however we then had to wait for our table which I would expect it to already be ready by the time we got there. The service was nice, however I expected a little more considered the atmosphere of the restaurant and comparing it to other restaurants of the same caliber in the area. Our server, Will, was great! I was celebrating an anniversary and we got a free dessert and he did a phenomenal job taking photos. We ordered the rolls, mac and cheese, lobster tails, and mahi. The mahi was not really great, I got it grilled and it tasted very fishy, this could be a mistake on my part but alas I still did not really enjoy it. The Mac and cheese was too liquidy for my liking, I think baking it would be better. The rolls were delicious and so were the lobster tails. I had a good night, our table was well dressed and prepared and the valet people were very nice and speedy. However, at a restaurant of this caliber with these prices, I expected more. 3.5/5 There is also a pretty outdoor area that adds for a great atmosphere, this restaurant biggest strength.

Is there a vegan menu available?

    Are kids allowed here?

    Of course.

Is the outdoor seating in late November heated and/or covered?

Both last year! Give them a call to confirm. Thanks.

I've been calling for one week now, I even left a couple messages with my name and telephone number that I need a reservation for Friday... And I've gotten no response.?

Make a reservation on open table

Is the outdoor seating area heated? Wondering if it will be too uncomfortable in December?

They have Outdoor Seating, but I am not sure if it is being used or Heated.

I didn't see any desserts listed on your website. I was told your restaurant sells Baked Alaska. Is that true?

Definitely desserts! My favorite is something like chocolate fudge brownie. Yummy. Not sure about baked Alaska.

Do they offer a happy hour at bar or patio for river view & drinks?

Traditionally, how is their Easter Brunch?

It is awesome. Anytime they do their buffet it is probably the best I ever had. I do their Mother's Day and Thanksgiving buffets every year. It is worth every penny!

    Do you need a reservation?

No but you will probably wait a long time without one

Is brunch still happening on Sunday's ? How does it work out?

I would suggest calling to find out. They were doing sit down brunch but not sure if still are..

    Do they serve brunch?

Yes, they have a fabulous brunch. I highly recommend it.

Do they brunch a la carte options if people in a group don't want buffet?

    They do not

    Is there a dress code?

    Yes, Business Casual

What's the dress code on Sunday lunch time?

At all times it's Fashionably Upscale Casual. No casual shoe wear like sneakers etc.

Can someone have a wedding reception here?

Hi Brittany! Yes, we host many wedding receptions throughout the year and would love to speak with you about your special day. Please contact our Sales & Events Department directly at riverevents@raysrestaurants.com or 770.952.4209 for availability…

Is there live music any particular day? I see it photo'd but is that a norm?

Wednesday through Saturday in the bar.

I don't really see any decent photos of brunch at this restaurant, but I've heard there is some good breakfast items. Can anyone confirm? Also, how would you compare breakfast here to Murphy's breakfast in midtown?

Murphy's is very good and the food at Ray's is comparable. Ray's has Stone Crab claws, cold Shrimp and sometimes Oysters. There is usually a Benedict, Baked Salmon, Gumbo, Stuffed Mushrooms and a plethora of entrees and salad items.…

Is this a restaurant we could take a 2 year old? We don't want to ruin anyone else's dinner if she gets noisy.

    Absolutely not!

Seafood awesome and how are their mixed drinks?

I had wine... a great selection... and the table had great mixed drinks

This is my second time here and both times have been so good. We came as a party of 3 and left so happy and full. I love Mexican food holy moly We got the queso and octopus shrimp ceviche as starters. The queso was 3 cheeses: American, cotija, and Oaxacan. They heated it up under a salamander so it was nice and crispy on top, while being gooey all throughout. Also came with a couple of nice salsas. The ceviche was not my favorite because I don't prefer raw(ish) octopus, but the squid ink sauce was very flavorful. For our mains the 3 of us shared the red snapper, tuetano with lamb, and the mixteco poblano pepper. Red snapper had a nice charred smoky flavor from being grilled. Was more meaty than flaky in texture. It was our second time getting the mixteco poblano pepper and it hits. Highly recommend eating with some of the salsa as well if you get queso. The duck carnitas in it wasn't particularly duck-y today, but still very good. Best dish is definitely the tuetano. The bone marrow is so incredibly flavorful with the blue corn tortillas. Add some of the pickled onions and it's hard to go wrong with that flavor combo of salt, fat, and acid. if you're going to order one thing, I'd order this and share with a friend and tbh it's enough to be filling. For dessert we got the volcan de chocolate (basically lava cake). The lava cake and coconut ice cream combo is fantastic. You get bits of coconut flakes as you eat! Fair warning it isn't the brownie texture you may be used to, it's a bit more cakey. Amazing service the whole night! Almost got our cars booted because we forgot to validate until 1.5 hours in but luckily we were fine. The staff let us know they have been booting cars though so be wary!

Beef Grill Review | Atlanta, Ga…read more 8599 Roswell Rd, Atlanta, GA 30350 Restaurant Review: Beef Grill - Atlanta, GA 4.6 / 5 Stars If you're a fan of Brazilian-style grilled meats and all-you-can-eat comfort, Beef Grill is a spot in Atlanta that delivers serious flavor and variety. Beef Grill focuses on the traditional Brazilian churrasco concept -- grilled meats carved fresh and served alongside a buffet of sides. The highlight here is the wide variety of meats. Diners can expect everything from tender beef cuts and seasoned chicken to juicy pork and flavorful lamb, all grilled to bring out smoky, savory flavors. One surprise favorite is the grilled pineapple, which adds a sweet, caramelized break between all the protein. The restaurant operates buffet-style and all-you-can-eat, which makes it easy to sample a little of everything. At around $25 per person, the pricing is very reasonable for the amount and quality of food you get. The meats were well-seasoned, fresh, and consistently tasty, making it easy to go back for seconds (or thirds). Another standout was the staff, who were friendly and welcoming. Even during busy periods, the team kept things moving and maintained a good vibe throughout the restaurant. The atmosphere is lively and casual, making it a great place for anyone craving a hearty meal. That said, there are a couple things to keep in mind. The dining area is fairly small, so waits are common. Even after the typical lunch rush, we still waited about 30 minutes to get seated. On top of that, parking is limited, which can add a little extra time before you even get inside. Pros Wide variety of grilled beef, chicken, pork, and lamb Delicious grilled pineapple and sides Friendly, welcoming staff All-you-can-eat buffet style Reasonable price (about $25 per person) Great atmosphere Cons Small dining area Limited parking Wait times can reach 30 minutes or more Final Verdict Despite the tight space and parking challenges, Beef Grill is absolutely worth the visit. The quality and variety of grilled meats, combined with reasonable pricing and a fun atmosphere, make it one of the better Brazilian grill options around. In the end, the juice is definitely worth the squeeze -- and it's a place I would absolutely recommend.

I went in with one clear goal: the filet mignon. Five of us ordered steaks, most medium-rare, but the kitchen execution was inconsistent across the table. One steak came out overcooked to well done, another was undercooked closer to rare, while mine was prepared correctly. Unfortunately, consistency was the main issue. The steaks had a good sear and flavor, but several were on the dry side. The highlights of the meal were the starters and sides. The crispy calamari was excellent and easily the standout dish. The crab dip was also well received by the table. The bread that comes with the salads deserves special mention as well, light, slightly sweet, and very fresh, melts in your mouth. The side salads were also great. For my entrée sides, the carrots were well prepared, but the brussels sprouts were undercooked and lacked seasoning, I like a little more flavor especially on my brussels. Dessert brought the meal back up. The apple-pie-ala-mode and brownie with ice cream were both excellent and a strong finish to the evening. Service throughout the night was very good. Our waiter was attentive, efficient, and quick to clear plates. He removed the dirty dishes quicker than a UPS driver working peak-season overtime. The only downside was the dim lighting, which made it a bit difficult to see clearly at times. Overall, while the appetizers, service, and desserts were strong, the inconsistency in steak preparation kept the experience from matching the price tag. Sorry Joey - 3 out of 5 stars

One of the most esthetically pleasing Korean BBQ places I've been to. It's an all you can eat spot with an extensive variety of meats to choose from. The quality of the meats is A1. Don't let me get started on the side options they offer! They provide substantial assortment of sides that are all savory & delectable. On top of the delicious food they also have a full bar available for your enjoyment. They have complementary parking available so no worries about adding an extra cost to the food adventure. If you sit at the tables with a grill it is an "all you can eat" option for everyone at the table only, no exceptions. If you desire to eat from the single meal menu there is bar seating available. There is a two hour limit per table but that is more than enough time to get your fill & moneys worth. Trust me you must go and it would not surprise me if Thrill becomes your new favorite Korean BBQ spot as well. I know it stole my heart and I plan on coming back many times over! Nom nom nom!

But...steaks are great. Bartenders are in that special class of pros by themselves - know the menu, know their wine list, know their drinks - know their stuff. Of course the steaks are great and they seem to have attracted a loyal following with a mix of Sandy Springs residents and East Cobbers who have few options on their side of the river. Once you step inside, it's another world and definitely not a strip mall restaurant vibe inside. It's got a great feel and a great atmosphere. We have great steak and seafood options in Sandy Springs. This is one of the best.

We are greeted like family as we enter into this amazing restaurant. Our favorite server Ian knows all the intricate details of the dishes and makes the best recommendations among the many fabulous options. The best appetizer is the Lobster with the white wine cream sauce ( this appetizer will blow your mind with flavor and the sauce is something very unusual and special). All of The entrees are delicious. As always- the spaghetti is a must-have option but everything on the menu is fantastic. However Today's chef feature was oh so delicious. The garlic butter fried chicken was a hit along with delicious garlic butter potatoes. This was the best chicken that i have ever had in my life. So crispy so tender so juicy and oh so flavorful. This chicken was a sophisticated cuisine with a comfort food flare. I would have included a photo but i ate it up too fast. Lol As always the meal ended with My heaven on earth dessert of the Lemond Ice Box Pie. This pie is oh so delicious that it makes an appearance in my dreams several nights a week and has me constantly craving for it. Not only did i have a slice of the lemon pie for dessert but i also purchased an entire pie to take home to serve for memorial weekend guests. This pie is simply the best of the best. Its my favorite. If my house was on fire - i would go back into the flames to rescue this pie. (Love it love it love it). Bon appetite my friends

Drew was our waiter and he truly made us feel like we were his only table. He had water and iced tea refills as soon as and even before our glasses were empty. Here's what we got: - Yeast Rolls ($8): Excellent, especially with the butter. Still dreaming of these. - Lump Crab Cake ($29): Pretty good. Note that the salsas had a kick to them. - Blue Fin Tuna Crudo ($28): Nothing to write home about. The chili was spicy. - French Onion Soup ($15): Just as good as we remembered it from last time. - Tasting for Two ($209): The filet and spinalis were delicious. The first time we went to Bask, the wagyu was exceptional. This time, it was the fattier part of the cut and sadly didn't live up to the hype. Disappointed. - Scallops ($50): Absolutely delicious. The arroz verde cremosa was soo good. Decent portion too. - Seafood Mac & Cheese ($20): Came with lobster and shrimp. Suuuuper good, cheesy, and creamy. - Broiled Asparagus ($15): Seriously amazing. The best asparagus I've ever had. We were celebrating an anniversary and they let us choose a dessert on the house. We got the Cinnamon Roll Bread Pudding (normally $14). Sadly, it was just meh. We got the Colossal Cosmonaut Cookie last time, which was out of this world. Definitely get the cookie and skip the bread pudding.

We ended up getting the steak dinner for two which included A5 Wagyu, filet and spinalis. The wagyu was melt in your mouth! Outside the Wagyu, I preferred the filet and my husband preferred the spinalis. The restaurant is a typical upscale steakhouse vibe. Very classy place with good mood lighting and casual music. The bar area was also really nice. It's located in a shopping center so not somewhere you would think you would find a nice restaurant!

There were people in suits, but there were also people there in polished casual outfits (nice jeans and shirts), but a graphic tee, flip flops, etc., definitely wouldn't have been appropriate. The food was outstanding. They had a mushroom Brie soup that I think was a special that I'm still thinking about. The calamari appetizer was also unforgettable. I usually don't love calamari, but it was served with a sweet chili dipping sauce that made it different than a standard calamari dish. It was pleasantly crispy. My family members who ordered steaks were very pleased, but I'm not a huge steak person. I ordered the scallops with risotto. I'm picky about scallops - they have to melt in your mouth - and boy they did not disappoint. This wasn't our first choice restaurant (a few others were booked when we tried to make a last minute reservation), but it will be in the future! Unfortunately, this experience was nowhere near what we expected. We had an 8:15 reservation for a party of eight and were seated around 8:20. We didn't get bread until 9:38, after asking several times, and our entrees didn't come out until after 10:00. Drinks took forever, appetizers were delayed, sides were missing, one person never received her salad, and two steaks had to be sent back because they were overcooked. The food that was prepared correctly tasted good, but some of it wasn't even hot when it reached the table. Our server told us he was new, and I can understand someone being new and still learning. What I don't understand is how management allowed him to struggle through a party of eight without stepping in. We were there for almost three hours and not one manager ever came to our table to check on us or acknowledge what was happening. They did give us complimentary champagne, which was appreciated, but honestly, we didn't want free champagne. We wanted the food and drinks we ordered and the level of service you expect when you're spending $100-$200 per person at a fine-dining restaurant. An 8:15 reservation turned into us leaving after 11:00. For the price point and the Fleming's name, the overall experience was extremely disappointing.
