I was a longtime Fit Eats customer when you offered delivery and recently decided I wanted to start ordering from you again. I placed an order, but due to some confusion on my part about the pickup instructions, my husband wasn't able to pick it up on the scheduled day. When I called to ask about the order, I wasn't expecting special treatment. I simply wanted to understand my options. Unfortunately, the person I spoke with was extremely abrasive and dismissive. I was told that because the order wasn't picked up, I would not receive a refund and that it was entirely my fault. They repeatedly stated they had already checked with the owner. When I asked, "Is this really how you treat someone who is trying to become a customer again?" the response was essentially, "You can have the refund, but it's your problem that you didn't pick it up." What was most disappointing wasn't the refund--it was the complete lack of empathy and professionalism. The conversation left me feeling like my business didn't matter. I also asked for the employee's name so I could provide feedback, and they refused to give it to me. As a fellow business owner, I know every interaction reflects on the company. I would want to know if someone representing my business was treating customers this way because, regardless of the outcome, people remember how they are made to feel. It's unfortunate because I've always had positive experiences with Fit Eats in the past. I hope you'll address this internally, as I can't imagine this is the level of customer service you want associated with your business. You need to get your people in check. Restaurants typically have a clean shaven policy and I was very grossed out that there wasn't one in place for this restaurant. Regulations generally require that facial hair be neatly trimmed, and groomed to prevent contamination. The owner really needs to do something about this, I can't imagine I'm the only person who this kid has served who has thought this.
