Came here for breakfast. We ordered food and for some reason no one asked us if we want it to go or not, they just gave us to go plates even though we were dining in. Which was a little weird. I had avocado salmon toast which was ok. I had a smaller portion and it was way too small so I had to order pumpkin spice chia pudding. The toast was pretty decent. Chia seed pudding was ok, not very good. Breakfast burrito that my husband got was ok. We also had a berry smoothie which was decent as well. It was weirdly empty, and it connects to another restaurant, so it's not very inviting or relaxing to be inside. It seems like more a to go place than a nice relaxing sit down breakfast place. Didn't really enjoy the whole experience. Also was very overpriced to receive food in a carton container. read more

I regularly order from Thrive when in bar harbor and I don't know what I'd do if they weren't around--consistently healthy and delicious (and wide variety of) options from warm lunch plates (eg miso salmon with rice and salad-incredible) to smoothies, açaí bowls, and breakfast options (hearty breakfast with scrambled eggs, bacon sausage, and blueberry waffles with real maple syrup!) , sandwiches (the turkey bacon sandwich is my regular go to) snacks (peanut butter balls, chia pudding), etc.... just, bottom line, if you are on to eating real/whole (and also delicious) foods this is really it for the area.... But also thankfully it's really good!! I really can't say enough, just try it... is it pricy? Maybe but not really by bar harbor standards plus you pay for what you get! This is top quality stuff, you can tell the owners really care. It's nice for take away but also they have ample indoor and outdoor seating (and lovely clean bathrooms!) if you want to stay and chill. I ordered the Peanut Butter Paradise and I wasn't a huge fan but I think I just didn't like the ginger. Everything is leaning heavily towards the healthy side which made it harder to pick something on the menu. If we had more time, I would definitely try one of their bowls, sandwiches, and toasts. Thank goodness for Thrive! On my fourth day of eating one too many lobster rolls and finishing each day with a giant cup of Mount Desert ice cream, I was really craving something green and fibrous. Thrive cranks out healthy, delicious food, and I'm sad that I didn't check them out sooner. Plus, bonus points for them opening at 7AM so we could pick up some food to take on the road. I ordered the veggie poke bowl both times. Highly recommend for a fresh, hearty meal to power a long hike or just to refuel. I loved the warm coconut rice that bulked up the meal some, as well as the absolutely delicious miso dressing they make in-house - I would want to douse everything in that sauce. They also do a great job of making things customizable. You can add or subtract any ingredient and there's basically every animal or veggie-based protein available. Also tried a bite of the lobster poke bowl; they're generous with the chunks of lobster. Would definitely want to come back and try their smoothie bowls and juices. Spent the weekend in Bar Harbor and ended up at Thrive twice, that's how good it is. Both times I got the vegan breakfast burrito and damn is it great. The vegan food selections are great. The burrito had amazing house made cashew cheese sauce and the walnut chorizo was crazy good. The staff were all so friendly and helpful when ordering. I also grabbed a oatmeal chocolate chip cookie and it was such a nice treat to have while hiking in the national park. The vibe is great, and the outdoor seating was so cute and fun. A hidden gem in Bar Harbor! After lots of not-so-healthy choices on our trip in Maine, I was looking for a health-conscious breakfast place and quickly came across this gem. It's on a quiet street before you get to the main part of downtown Bar Harbor. The space is clean, modern, and fresh with a few tables inside for dining. I ordered a quinoa salad bowl which was very hearty. Their sauce tasted amazing and I actually wish there was more to complement the amount of spinach I got in that bowl (definitely 3 times the amount of iron I probably needed that day).
