Love it. Love the freshness and the made to order. Bummer is you have to pay to park and it adds up. Asked the cashier if they can add more ginger, yes for a up charge. Smoothie came but I hardly tasted it. Maybe they forgot. Who knows

PB&J Smoothie and Chia Pudding Parfait

While there aren't many healthy açaí smoothie spots around Bar Harbor, Thrive definitely stood out as one of the best I've ever tried. I ordered the PB&J smoothie and the chia pudding parfait, both were absolutely delicious. The smoothie was a little on the thick side, but still super flavorful and refreshing. Combined with the parfait, it made for a perfect light, energizing meal to start the day. The staff were extremely friendly and the restaurant was very well kept. If you're looking for something healthy and satisfying in Bar Harbor, Thrive is a must-visit.

Great smoothies and bowls. Super fresh and made to order. Friendly staff and great outdoor seating.

This place was very nice! I ordered a to go vegan burrito and chai smoothie from here - it was the only place with vegan health food options in Bar Harbor. It's very much like a health and wellness store - with some bites, juices and smoothies. The place is very clean, the restrooms are neat and the staff was nice! I'd recommend it if you're in the area.

We went in around 9 AM during the week and there was no line to order. I had the seasonal pumpkin spice smoothie bowl. The flavor was very good and not too spicy. The price is a little expensive but it's definitely worth it if you were looking for a healthy option. My only complaint is that they close a little early during the week so it's definitely more of a breakfast and lunch place.

Mermaid Smoothie Bowl

My husband had the breakfast sandwich and I had the Mermaid Smoothie bowl. Both were delicious. Will definitely come back.

AWESOME place to stop by after hiking in Acadia, since I'm always craving acai bowls or smoothies after a morning in the sun A little hidden from the main street in Bar Harbor but super cute cafe and the staff is so nice! ---acai bowl: love that they still do blended bowls, not the scooped sorbet other places in LA are leaning towards ---smoothie: the hubby really enjoyed this one

High quality and healthy food! Detailed breakdown below: **Service, 5/5** Arrived less than a half hour before closing and the staff was so friendly and quick even with a long line piling up. **Decor & cleanliness, 5/5** Gorgeous, clean space with an adorable patio. **Price & portion, 4.5/5** I thought the items would've been worth the price if they used slightly more premium ingredients. For example, the curry citrus bowl had a small boiled egg, but some chickpeas and/or avocado would've made it feel like a complete meal. For my blueberry acai bowl, it would've felt worth the price if they used fresh blueberries instead of previously frozen (?) berries. **Presentation of the food, 5/5** All colorful and gorgeous! **Taste of the food, 4.25/5** - Blueberry acai smoothie bowl, 5/5: Refreshing, perfectly sweet, and packed full of fruit and flavor! Just what I needed after a loooong day of hiking and biking. - Coconut curry bowl, 3.5/5: The bowl was mostly good, but it felt like it was missing a creamy, fuller bodied element like chickpeas or avocado. What bumped this down from 5 stars was the greens -- they left a super dry, weird aftertaste which made me think the greens hadn't been washed. **Other notes** Utensils are compostable!

Wonderful reasonably priced real foods. Simple easy to understand ingredients. Friendly staff. Made fresh

Avocado toast with bacon.

Best breakfast in my opinion! It is tucked away- we almost missed it but Thankfully the universe guided us to Thrive! Great porch food staff and atmosphere Whole Foods and flavor! I got the avocado toast with bacon micro greens a little spice and the fresh lemon wedge was a nice contrast of flavors- and the blueberry lemonade did NOT disappoint! Staff was kind and smiling for a rainy Saturday morning!

Gluten Free waffles

The food was great just pricey for a quick service breakfast! The gluten free options were awesome and had a variety of things to choose from. Perfect for allergy friendly options! Customer service was meh- not sure if the cashier knew she was being rude or just her personality. But certainly a turn off for a first time customer. Clean and friendly dining area! We would absolutely come back for the gluten free items.

Healthy, yummy, fast! I tried the pb&j smoothie and it was gone before I knew it. Their menu is very health forward and is a nice reset.

We bought some wild blueberries there and walked around the store to take a look around. We didn't see too much gluten-free at the counter, but everyone there was nice. The blueberries were pretty good; we ended up picking up some more at a farmer's market that were tasty too.

There is no guarantee of great customer service anywhere. But the apparent free fall in customer…read moreservice at A & B Naturals stings. For years, this store has been an oasis of good vibes, healthy food and employees who seemed genuinely aligned around better food, better health, better community and a better kind of commerce -- one that puts people and community first. What I experienced in mid-July 2026 felt more like the customer service I'd expect from a cranky big-city bodega employee pushing scratch tickets, vodka nips, cigarettes and herbal Viagra at the register. I'm a longtime, loyal A & B Naturals shopper. But maybe not anymore. I recently learned that more than $300 in receipts I had carefully saved for redemption through the store's loyalty program are now worthless. I always liked being able to redeem old receipts for a modest discount on future purchases. Apparently, that program changed during the dead of winter. Under the new rules, only receipts from the same calendar year can be redeemed. As a 20-plus-year summer resident of MDI, maybe I missed the 2025 messaging. I assume there was some warning. But the change landed harshly for someone like me who had saved receipts in good faith. What bothers me is that A & B Naturals apparently gave longtime (summertime) customers no grace period or soft landing -- no window to redeem older receipts before making them worthless. It feels abrupt and unnecessarily unfriendly to loyal shoppers. But that alone wouldn't bring my review down to two stars. What really gets my goat is how ONE employee treated me when I expressed disappointment about the change. Let me be clear: I love the A & B Naturals staff. Most are salt of the earth. They represent a diversity I celebrate, and they are a big reason I've shopped there for years. The nutritionist, in particular, is amazing -- knowledgeable, patient and genuinely helpful. But one bad apple can ruin the cart. An older employee named Katherine met me at the counter and was defensive, smug, condescending and rude. She told me I was the first person ever to complain about the new loyalty rules. When I asked to speak with the owner, her response was: "It won't do you any good." When I told her I was disappointed by both the loyalty change and the way she was treating me -- and that I was considering leaving a review or writing a letter to the editor -- she again essentially told me it wouldn't matter and nobody would care. Her tone and demeanor made it clear she wasn't interested in hearing me out or de-escalating the conversation. Quite the opposite. I felt dismissed and talked down to. There was no acknowledgment that a longtime customer might reasonably be disappointed, no sympathy, no attempt to explain the change constructively and certainly no effort to preserve goodwill. Maybe I missed the notice about the loyalty program. Fair enough. But good customer service isn't about always giving the customer what they want. Sometimes it's simply about listening, showing a little empathy and treating a loyal customer like their business still matters. That part should never expire.

We knew we'd be hiking all day (and had a heavy dinner planned) so we stopped at Earth and Flow to pick up some lighter bites. This was around 10am on a Thursday, and we were the only customers. It took about 45 minutes to get our food (no other customers ever came in; it didn't appear they were making any to-go orders). There were two employees that day, one who was making our order and one who was on her phone. We got: 1. Tara's Peanut Butter Heaven smoothie (banana, peanut butter, chocolate, almond milk) and the Tropical Storm smoothie (mango, pineapple, strawberry, orange juice, coconut milk, almond milk): I don't know how this is possible - maybe they were made in the same blender? - but these tasted identical. They were also liquidy. Personally, I prefer my smoothies so thick it's hard to suck through a straw. 2. the Thai wrap (almond-ginger pate, lettuce, mango, red pepper, cabbage, basil, mint, cilantro, ginger almond dipping sauce): this was okay - there was *a lot* of mint stems - but the ginger almond dipping sauce tasted purely of soy sauce - way, way too salty for me. 3. the Sun Tuna wrap (tuna salad made from sunflower seeds, not fish, combined with lemon, Bragg's amino acids, celery, pickles, and romaine lettuce): my favorite of the three! Such a unique take on a vegan tuna, but the celery was literally long uncut stalks. 4. the Sante Fe wrap (cashews, lemon, parsley, cayenne pepper, vegan mayonnaise, black beans and avocado): my partner's favorite of the three, but I found it bland, also there was no avocado and LOTS of romaine... which isn't an ingredient in this wrap. ^ I appreciated that all three wraps came on a bed of lettuce, because the wrap itself was *so* stiff and gummy in texture that we ended up dumping the interior onto the greens and eating it salad style. 5. Earthy Delights (4 Medjool dates stuffed with almond butter, cardamom, and ginger): the BEST thing we got were these stuffed dates. The combination of the rich almond butter, earthy cardamom, and spicy ginger were unlike anything I've had in recent memory. Do not miss out on these! For me, this missed the mark. But it's fantastic that an option like this exists in Rockland.

It's been a while. I figured there would be new, and hopefully friendlier, staff. I was half right. There was new staff, but unfortunately, they were as unwelcoming as the last batch. This place has no prices on any of the premade sandwiches or pastries in their cases (why??), so we asked "Hey there, how much are your pies and cookies?". The employee was in the lobby sweeping and said "I'm not sure. Somewhere between $3- $5. Maybe more". She doesn't look up. Doesn't offer more clarity. She just shrugged this non-answer to us and carried on. It was awkward. So my husband, trying to make light of it, says "Sounds like it's up for debate so how about I give you $2.50" and this girl gives us a dour look and snaps "Well, I'm not behind the cash register so I can't look at the prices, can I?". So, we have now learned our lesson with this place twice. Not sure what it is about the culture there that results in such bad service years apart and by different people. We won't be returning.
