I'm soo glad we found this place. The most flavorful vegan Vietnamese food!! Everything we tried was delightful. The egg rolls were extra tasty! The soy calamari was also super impressive. The server was lovely, always smiling. The atmosphere was quiet, casual and simple. It is Reasonably priced and we can't wait to be back!!

So happy I had a chance to come here again. Tried the mango salad, which is incredible to make mango and garlic chips work together, but it does. Split the salad and Thai fried rice. Service was lovely, food was prompt, no wait for a table, and portions are just right. Clean and welcoming interior, truly this is top on my "when I'm in Anaheim" list.

I was headed to Anaheim with some friends for a show at The Observatory when we needed some dinner before hand, luckily my friends already had a spot picked out and that spot was Thuyen Vien. It was my first time here and my first time having Vegan Thai food in years so I was pretty excited about giving this place a try. The menu here has all the things you would come to expect from a thai place including my personal favourite type of dish, rice dishes. I ended up ordering the Com Chien Thai Fried Rice which description read "A house favorite cooked with black peppers, Thai chili peppers, bell peppers, basil, soy shrimp, and soy pork" and let me tell you, it was served piping hot and tasted very good. Both the soy shrimp and pork tasted really good and the veggies were a nice mixture as well. Overall, Thuyen Vien was a pretty simple spot spot, having a small but super friendly staff and a pretty basic inside. I really enjoyed the food and the fact that had single cans of caffeine free diet coke which is near impossible to find anywhere these days, so kudos to that as well. This is definitely a spot I'll keep in mind when returning to Anaheim in the future, this is definitely the spot to take my vegan friends!

Been eyeing this restaurant for a while now. Finally got a chance to dine here. Restaurant is near Disneyland. They open later in the day from 3:30 PM to 8:30 PM. Not sure why they do not open for Lunch. The restaurant is small, but still enough tables to accommodate customers. It was clean and bright. Decors were nice. For a Vegan restaurant, the food was very good. The young lady who took our orders was very friendly. Service was good. Foods came out pretty quick. We ordered the followings: - Chả Giò (Eggrolls) (4) - Gỏi Cuốn (Spring Rolls) (4) - Com Bò Lúc Lắc (Shaken Beef with Rice) - Bún Bò Huế (Royal Noodle Soup) - Bún Chả Giò Thịt Nướng (The Vermicelli Bowl) - Gà Tỏi (Garlic Chicken) - Mì Quảng (Hot Noodle Salad) - Flan As mentioned earlier, for a Vegan restaurant, the food was amazing and delicious. If you are Vegan, I highly recommend this restaurant.

We don't come here as much as we used to. But one thing is for sure. The service and the quality of food never changes! The prices are very affordable. As a matter of fact, probably one of the most affordable places in Orange County. A few go-to's I have over here is the garlic 'chicken' and the lemongrass 'chicken' - can't go wrong with those. If you're in the area, definitely give them a visit!

My wife recommended we check out Thuyen Vien for dinner, and I'm so glad we gave it a try. This place definitely has that hidden hole-in-the-wall vibe, but the food absolutely delivers. We ordered the vegan garlic chicken, vegetable curry, fried tofu, and Thai tea -- every single dish was amazing. The vegan garlic chicken was packed with flavor, the curry was rich and comforting, and the fried tofu was perfectly crispy. The Thai tea was the perfect finishing touch. If you're looking for delicious vegan Vietnamese food in Anaheim, this spot is definitely worth checking out. Highly recommend!

5 Stars It's been 7 years since my last review, but I've been a loyal customer here for even longer--eating here about once a week. The food is always consistent and delicious. My go-tos are the vermicelli bowl and garlic chicken, but I've recently fallen in love with the new calamari on the menu--it's perfectly done. The seaweed curry is flavorful, and the chicken salad is another favorite. Best of all, everything is 100% vegan, which makes enjoying all these dishes even better. Reliable, flavorful, and worth coming back for time and time again. Great service, food, nice ambiance.

Who gave this place less than a 5 stars? ABSOLUTELY fantastic food at a reasonable price price point. If this were in LA, there would be LINES for this restaurant -- the Thai vegetable curry was probably the best vegan curry I've had.

They open 5 hours a day 3:30pm-8:30pm daily except Tuesday. Serving vegetarian Vietnamese cuisine. We got sweet and sour tamarind soup ($10.95) Fish clay pot ($10.95). You could also get egg plant or tofu. This comes out sizzling hot. Banana flower salad ($9.95) it's the same banana flower used in bun Bo hue. This salad is refreshing with the fish sauce. As far as Vietnamese vegetarian dishes, I don't find this place any different than the temple or any other Viet vegetarian restaurant in OC. But the service, freshness, quickness and prices were all outstanding.

If you're looking for Vegetarian Vietnamese food this is definitely a go to. We came on Lunar New Years with a party of 6 and everything was delicious. Pricing is very reasonable but I will say dishes are on the smaller side so that makes sense. These are the items I tried out. Egg Rolls - Delicious, would recommend as an appetizer. It's crispy. (4.5/5) Garlic Chicken - Got this recommendation via yelp and didn't disappoint. The fake chicken tasted great. Would recommend (5/5) Sweet and Sour Soup - It's a bit on the lighter side but it was okay. Not bad but not special either. (3.5/5) Thai Vegetable Curry - This one is honestly a pass. It's nothing special, but its not bad either. Pass on the Thai food at a Vietnamese place. (3/5) Clay Pot Sensation - LOVED THIS, everything stayed warm and we got this wish fish. Flavor was great and it was just delicious. (5/5) Crispy Fish - This was bomb, thought it didn't come like super hot, more like warm. Flavors were good and I enjoyed it overall. (4/5). Rice was $2 per bowl but overall we spent about $82 for 6 people which isn't bad. The service was good and super friendly. Everyone gave it a thumbs up so pretty solid spot if you need Vegetarian/Vegan food!

Super clean vegetarian spot with generous portions and fair prices. The Royal Pho and Shaken "Beef" are really tasty, and I appreciate that the food doesn't leave me super thirsty after. Service is very friendly n polite

Bun bo hue

Came with a vegetarian person or else I would never have tried this place, but glad I did. Very affordable and has a home cooked feel to each dish. Close location to Garden Amphitheatre so we stopped for a quick bite here before the show. Vegetarian bun bo hue was surprisingly good, loaded with ingredients and noodles on point. It's not going to be exactly the same but I do understand what they were going for. Comes with "beef" seitan, tofu and thinly sliced king oyster mushrooms I was full to the brim from a regular size bowl of noodle soup and a couple egg rolls. Egg rolls were fired crisp and came with mint and lettuce to help balance out the fried heat, recommend side to go with you meal.

M09 - Bun "Bo" Hue "Royal Noodle Soup

My gf got the #M09 - Bun "Bo" Hue "Royal Noodle Soup and she LOVED it. I just got a thai tea and it was refreshing! We'll come back to try more dishes! The ambience is very homey and cute. The service was great, very nice interaction and helpful!

One thing that really stood out was our server's attentiveness. He mentioned that the sauce served with the shrimp spring rolls contained pork after learning about my dietary restriction. He kindly brought the regular sauce for my mom to enjoy while also bringing me several different sauces to try with my spring rolls. It was such a thoughtful gesture and made me feel genuinely welcomed and valued as a customer. He also personally recommended the Luna rice cakes, and I'm so glad we took his suggestion because they were delicious! The dish included seven rice cakes with an assortment of Asian vegetables, and the flavors were excellent. Our final dish was the shaken beef with garlic noodles, featuring tender filet mignon, mushrooms, and onions. Everything was cooked perfectly. The beef was incredibly tender, and the garlic noodles were flavorful without being overly oily. Needless to say, I'll definitely be back. It's absolutely worth the drive, and my mom agreed. She's already talking about coming back with the rest of our family!

The food came out at different times, and my family was waiting almost 10min before we all got our meals together. They served the first plate, with no updates on when everyone else's food would be out. The Shaken Beef is a little dry and very oily, but the flavors were decent and the rice and salad are great. The portions for everything skim on the proteins, mainly serving onions to make the meals look bigger. The Goi Cuon was okay, nothing crazy and always a staple. It's not justifiable to eat here at this price, because the quality isn't upscale. I think we're better off eating at other places in Westminster.

Be prepared: this place is incredibly popular, especially during peak hours. Parking can definitely be challenging because of how busy it is. The last time I visited on a Monday, the lot was completely full, and I ended up parking on the street. The restaurant is also primarily cash only, so come prepared. They open early, making it a perfect breakfast spot for an early bowl of pho. The pho broth is exactly what I want when I'm craving comfort food--clean, flavorful, and incredibly soothing. However, the star of the meal for me was the chả giò. Wow. Although they arrived after our pho, they came out at the perfect temperature. I was hesitant to take a bite right away because freshly fried food usually burns my mouth, but these were just right. Crispy, airy, savory, and absolutely delicious. Paired with their fish sauce, it was perfection. I enjoyed the egg rolls so much that next time I'm definitely ordering the egg roll vermicelli bowl. Service was friendly and prompt despite how busy it was, and it's clear the staff works hard to keep things moving. One thing I love is seeing all of the awards and accolades displayed on the walls. Phở 79 received the prestigious James Beard America's Classics Award, and it's easy to understand why after one meal here. This restaurant is truly an Orange County icon. The restaurant will soon be moving to a new location, as signs throughout the restaurant announce the upcoming move. While I'll miss the original spot, I'm excited for the new space--hopefully with more parking! Some places are worth the wait, and Phở 79 is absolutely one of them.

Have been to this restaurant many times, and food is always consistent! Came visit to the restaurant last week, and ordered my favorite Grilled Escargot with Garlic Butter and Peppercorn, Grilled Scallops with Cheese, and my all-time favorite Chilean Sea Bass hot pot! The grilled escargots are a must-have when visiting this place! These are perfectly grilled with rich garlic butter for sweetness, and with a slight kick of spiciness from the peppercorn. Don't forget to also dip the escargot meat with black pepper and a few squeeze of fresh lime juice! If you like melted cheese, then the grilled scallops with cheese would be the perfect match. Each scallop is covered melted cheese and comes sizzling on a hot plate when ordered! Last but certainly not least, my favorite dish of this restaurant is the Chilean Sea Bass hot pot. The order comes with your own tabletop gas stove, along with a hot pot filled with a tom yum like sour soup base. For ingredients, it also includes a plate with slices of pineapple, quarter cut fresh tomato slices, fresh bean sprouts, rice noodles, and a full plate of large pieces of Chilean Sea Bass. Just put all the ingredients in the hot pot and let it cook for 5-10mins on high, I promise you it is one of the best soups you will ever have! Service is good as always. This place always seems to be busy, so you may have to be on the waitlist during certain business hours (eg holidays, prime dinner time, etc). Parking wise, the restaurant is located in a busy plaza, and so you may have to drive around a few times before finding an open spot. However as I said earlier, it's worth the wait.
