We also ordered the dry pot pig intestines and added a few veggie items. The large was more than enough for 5-6 people. We ordered it with the standard spice level and it was a bit more spicy than we liked but was good. The ingredients tasted fresh. The servers were nice but didn't interact with you unless you request. I think they are respecting your time but they come off cold. read more

We came here around 5:50 pm and was seated immediately. We were greeted and scanned the QR for our menu. We ordered the 老妈蹄花汤 (not pictured), 干锅田鸡, and the 干锅手撕包菜. Honestly, the food was great and it came out pretty timely as well. All the non-soup dishes were the right mala, so be warned if anyone can't handle numbing/spice. The staff was extremely attentive from the beginning - checking in on us if we could handle spicy/mala, serving us the first bowl of soup, giving us extra napkins, and asking to change to clean plates. I would say that the parking, if packed, is troublesome as I would assume there are many people that would come here after work. It is right next to the T-Mobile office so I would say be wary of the parking. Other than that, we had a great time here and would invite more people to come. read more

The chicken wings in the dry pot were tasty and crispy. I wasn't too impressed with the rest of the stuff in the dry pot. It had some baby oysters mushrooms, green beans and lotus root. The chicken feet was served in a spicy sauce. The flavor was good, but it wasn't what I expected. The shredded potatoes weren't that spicy or flavorful, but they were a good contrast to the other dishes. The Chongqing chicken was crispy, but a little sweeter than I like. They have a bone-in and a boneless version. I recommend the boneless one because the bone in had a lot of small fragments. The tables are quite large which is great for fitting many dishes but it was a bit far when talking to someone across the table. The chairs are also interesting because they are also really wide and deep with a soft bottom cushion but a wooden back. The service was great, staff was friendly. We've come here a few times now and we enjoy the dry pot tofu and mung bean noodles. The sauce with the noodles is really good. The food is very spicy, so beware. I'm not too fond of their home style tofu, the tofu in it tends to be a bit stinky. The mapo tofu is another good one. The place was packed, but there was a lot of potential for extra tables.. We ordered mapo tofu 麻婆豆腐, sweet and sour spareribs 糖醋小排, and Sichuan string beans 乾癟四季豆. We also get a free country stir-fried with house smoked pig's snout 農家香香嘴. They also don't give you rice for free, so we had to get a bowl of rice as well. The mapo tofu was not like other places, the sauce is mostly red like chili oil. Not the style I like. The string beans were fine but a little dry for us. The sweet and sour spareribs was really good, but the portion is super small and it's mostly bones. Maybe that's why that fish is $14.99 when others were like $20s. We didn't enjoy it the taste of pig's snout and it was a bit "too strong" for us. We ended up not touching that free dish. Overall the meal here was disappointing, and I think we probably ordered the wrong thing. Great service from the servers and the owner came by to check on us couple times. I love their mobile ordering system. The chairs are so comfortable with memory foam cushion. The food is excellent, piece of home every time I have it. Sichuan dishes are commonly greasy but I thought they did a good job with the amount of oil they have to use to bring out the flavor. I've heard lots of good things about this place so I was super excited to try!! We always order the Chongqing spicy chicken and szechuan restaurants -- this place is no different. One comment is that there is not a ton of chicken and the pieces are very small. However, the flavor was so good and spicy/numbing and very crispy! The sweet and sour ribs were also good, but personally I think DTF does it better. They were still very tasty (sweet, sour, meaty) though! I also ordered the sour and spicy potato dish (not pictured), which is one of my favorite. The sourness is very unique but really elevates the dish. The potato is also still crunchy, not soft at all, which makes a super satisfying bite. A minor complaint is that this place expects you to use tablets for ordering. They don't have any regular/paper menus at all (we asked)! The tablet is not the most accessible, especially for folks who are not as familiar with newer technology. It's not a very intuitive UI and you have to press on each individual item to see an image of the item. IMO a super easy fix is to just have paper menus as an alternative -- just to look at! Tian Fu has been on my to-try radar for a long time, and I'm glad I was finally able to pay this restaurant a visit! And I have to say if you are looking for a solid Sichuan style restaurant in the Factoria area, you are in luck! I've been to Tian Fu a couple of times and even though it may look busy if you decide to go around dinner time (6-7pm), service is usually fast and you should get seated soon, unless it's a especially busy night. The ambiance of the restaurant is lively, there are always going to be a good amount of people dining in. The decorations are fit the atmosphere of a busy Chinese restaurant well with decorative Chinese chairs, tables, and wall decor. Ordering is done through their online ordering system - where you scan a QR code, select the dishes that you want, and pay your bill. The restaurant staff will come up to your table afterwards and confirm your order and ensure that there are no mistakes, which is nice. Service is also relatively fast here too - I usually got my dishes about 10-15 minutes maximum after the confirmation. In terms of the food served here, the flavor is great! I've tried a chunk of dishes here - from Boiled meat, to dry pots, to Sichuan vegetable dishes. Most dishes are seasoned well and have pleasing textures. If you decided to order the dry pots, there also is a subtle wok char flavor profile - it's like a smokey charcoal flavor that gives the dishes a extra tang that I haven't really experienced at other Sichuan restaurants. Now, about the spice level since it is what people want when they come to Sichuan place - most dishes have a decent amount of spice, not too much, and not too little. I personally haven't requested more spice, but I'm sure the wait staff would be happy to oblige. On average you will probably spend at most $60 - 75 for three people (assuming about 1 dish per person), and you will definitely get a decent amount of food given the price. I would say for the Factoria area, this is good since most things are expensive here. I have been to Tian Fu a good amount of times, and would definitely recommend this restaurant! read more

Food was served as a decent speed - big menu with spicy and non-spicy options. If you are lost the waiters are more than happy to give you recommendations - lavender milk tea: chose reduced sugar amount and liked the flavor. The iced drink helped calm me down while I ate the spicy food - noodles: very appetizing - lamb: my favorite dish! Such a big portion and tender lamb with cumin flavor - roasted duck in hot pot: this pot is huge with lots of transitional hot pot veggies inside (bean sprouts, potato, lotus roots, sea weed etc.) and you can choose spicy level. I ordered it knowing that it's a local specialty and wasn't disappointed. I was impressed by how authentic it was. Also plenty of options for everyone in the party to choose from. We've been regular customers here for years since they are open, but on our recent visit we noticed a dramatic decline in both service and food quality. We ordered the tomato stir-fry with egg -- my daughter's favorite dish -- and were shocked to find the tomatoes almost raw and the eggs runny. When we mentioned this to the manager at checkout, she simply said we should have told the staff so they could make a new dish. Yet during our meal (on a Monday night, when it wasn't even busy), not one person stopped by to check how everything was. Her response made it feel like it was our fault for not speaking up sooner, and she offered nothing to make it right. It's just like many other Chinese restaurants -- they seem to struggle to keep the consistency of quality over time. Even the dining area we used to enjoy, with its big comfortable chairs, is no longer the same. Unfortunately, they have lost all the good quality and features we once loved. To charge $18.50 for such a simple dish in that quality was disappointing. Not authentic Chinese food at all. We also ordered several other dishes, which all tasted rather plain compared to before. This used to be one of our favorite restaurants, but sadly we're not planning to come back anytime soon. read more

Really good Sichuanese restaurant in Factoria! Everything is very flavorful and well-seasoned. Their dishes can get really spicy so be warned, although you can ask for them to make it mild which does make the spice much more manageable. They also have a good number of nonspicy options that you can order to balance out the spicy ones. Last time we went we ordered via QR code online and the food came out pretty quickly. More often we order togo online and eat at home. They can get pretty busy on weekends so they don't do takeout on weekends. read more

Probably one of my top Chinese restaurants at the moment. I loved their cucumber and wood ear salad. The cucumber was frosty cold and crunchy. The sauce was soooooo addicting. I was tempted to just drink it at the end. The beef with cilantro was tender and had wonderful seasoning. The mapo tofu was OK but quite salty as their doubanjiang was quite pungent. So be prepared to eat lots of rice. I would pass on the string beans as I felt like they weren't that amazing. Loved the frog legs so much! It's a must order from now on. I want to gatekeep this place but it's so legit I can't not share. Everything here was so tasty and the restaurant was booked full by 5:01 PM. You definitely need a reservation but you wouldn't be able to tell by the reviews. My favorites are the salted egg yolk tofu, pork ribs with pumpkin in rice, spicy fried chongqing chicken, any of the leafy greens, gizzard and sour pickled beans, and the boiled fish and tofu. Don't be intimidated by the menu, the staff are very nice and can help you out. One of my favorite restaurants in Washington! A must for Tian Fu is the Dry Chili Hot Pot with an addition of the chicken wings. I LOVE the chicken wings and I rave about them to everyone. The chicken wing flats are separated so there's only one bone in the meat for easy eats. The dish is so flavorful with a nice spicy kick (made with the sichuan peppercorns so if you're a huge fan of numbing spice, this dish is for you). The dry hot pot comes with king oyster mushrooms, lotus root, and green beans but you can add more toppings (various vegetables and/or proteins) for an extra charge. We added wood ear mushrooms and a small size of the chicken wings (there is a small or large portion). For a party of 3, a small size portion of chicken wings was more than enough for us. The chicken wings are packed with flavor, juicy, and tender. We also got an order of the Peking Shredded Pork dish, which was flavorful and tasty. For drinks, I got an order of the Organic Sparkling Guava Lemonade with Lychee Jelly. Really loved the drink as I feel like this flavor is quite unique. Service was good and attentive. Our order: house cured meat fried rice, Sichuan hot and spicy beef jerky, intestines dry pot and gizzards with pickled long beans. Yummy in my tummy! We liked all of our dishes. The Sichuan peppercorn is prominent but not overwhelming. The dry pot and beef jerky had a slow and pleasant burn that left our mouths tingling, warm and craving for more. I particularly liked the potato wedges with crispy outers and soft inners. With the exception of the fried rice, every dish we ordered goes great with plain white rice. Ginormous portions, our leftovers became carryons. At the security checkpoint, TSA officer opened up the takeout boxes and commented "damn, I'm hungry now". This place is a social media trap. On social media there are many posts saying this place is amazing, this place as authentic dishes, this place is the next hot spot. In reality, it is not good at all. Let's start with the cost, 2 appetizers plus 2 main dishes (one of which is eggplant) costs $75 after tipping. I expect much better food. Lets start with the cucumber, I think all I could taste is WHITE vinegar and some garlic which is to say, it was not made authentically. The beef slices was made with some sesam sauce which authentically its usually just made traditional spicy oil. The eggplant was over fried and oily. It was made as a sweet and sour style that I would expect from a fast food Chinese joint serving sweet and sour chicken. The pig intestine was friend to the point that it was just oil crispy with barely any flavor, with the flavor being uncleaned intestine. As for the vegetables with the dishes. Parking spot can be easy to find depending on how busy the restaurant is and there's a street across you can park as well. The food came out at a decent rate, I would say the beef was my favorite and then the tofu with pork. The cold chicken was interesting as I have never had cold chicken even as left overs, but was good however is a bit oily from the chili oil but the bamboo counters it! Some of the best and most authentic Sichuan cuisine in the Eastside. My friend and I tried the one bite lamb skewers and the Sichuan eggplant. The lamb was numbing and covered with basil. The eggplant was super flavorful and had the right level of sweetness and spiciness, by far one of my favorite Sichuanese dishes. The waiting time to dine in was pretty long even for a weekday evening but the wait time was worth it for how good the food was.
