I went in because I wanted to try something new. The menu photos looked amazing. I have a mushroom allergy, so I purposely read every menu item. I found no mention of mushrooms in 90% of the menu items, they did list ingredients. I chose a beef curry. From the first bite, I knew something was off. Have passed over and by this place for almost a year, but people were saying good things about The Tibet Kitchen in local Facebook groups so we finally decided to get some take-out. First, they are open in the evening even though Yelp has hours listed incorrectly. Call them. They are so nice and the food was delicious! We ordered an appetizer of fried beef dumplings and tempura veggies. Both portions were plentiful and the tempura was perfectly delicate and crisp, not over battered or too oily. The dumplings and the tempura came with super delicious slightly spicy fresh tasting sauce on the side. For entrees we ordered the beef bone broth with beef dumplings and veggies, chicken fried rice, and chili chicken. My favorite was the mo-thuk beef soup. The chicken fried rice was definitely above average and had good texture and larger pieces of chicken. The chicken chili looked like the chicken might be over fried and dry but it wasn't! And the bell peppers and onion that come with that dish were really fresh and not overcooked. All in all this will easily become a new local favorite! read more

Got some beef momos to go and got a cup of butter tea while I was waiting for the order. Butter tea was so delicious and satisfying -- oddly like a nice soup broth on a chilly afternoon. Momos, of course, were really good, the chili dipping sauce was very good and had some heat. Can't wait to try the buffet and other food selections. Very happy Tibetan food has returned to Santa Fe resturant scene. Best of luck to the new place! read more

This is a great place - we went for dinner and had veggie and beef dumplings (momos), fried rice, and spicy potatoes. Really tasty. We tried the butter tea - the flavor was usual and the kids weren't fans, but it grew on me. They are still working out the kinks on getting food out from the kitchen fast, but I'll definitely go back. Can't wait to try the buffet. read more

I had vegetable samosas and spicy potatoes for lunch. I walked in to order and it was ready less than 15 minutes later (enough time to quickly do some errands at neighbouring shops). Delicious! Tempura was crispy deliciousness, the chow main was super good as well. We had the beef fried rice and it was sort like Indian rice, but more delicate and lite. The chili chicken, well that was the star of the show. It exceeded my every expectation. The meat was flawless, prepared to perfection with onions, bell peppers and chile Pequín. This is real food prepared by someone who obviously takes pride in his/her craft! And the butter tea? Forget about it, it's like grandma came down from heaven to give you hug! What a little gem this place is! I have never had Tibetan cuisine but the food was lovely. Fresh, spinach and lightly pickled veggies made up the green salad. Very disappointed! Food has no flavor. Chicken curry doesn't taste like curry. The beef shongo phingsha was basically broth with linguine noodles and a tiny bit of meat. The food left me disappointed. We ordered spicy potatoes and they were very spicy and just potatoes. If you're looking for a meal with a lot of veggies, that isn't it. We also ordered the chowmein with chicken and it, also, was okay. Didn't have a lot of flavor and was a bit oily. We ordered beef and veggie dumplings. The beef dumplings didn't have very much inside them and seemed to have a lot of open space inside, so you're eating more dough than meat. The veggie dumplings were also just okay. My biggest beef with our order was the fact that the dumplings ended up sticking to the to-go boxes and left this wet papery clump on the dumplings that we couldn't really get off. And the bottoms of the boxes were pretty wet when we sat down to eat. We had driven less than 5 minutes after leaving with the order so that was pretty disappointing. read more

I found the food to be rather bland and not very warm hot (both temperature and taste). Fried rice, wasn't fried (just steamed rice with veggies scattered on top). This was my first visit to Tibet Kitchen. The food was excellent, we had blood sausage, beef shapta and veggie momos (a cross between a samosa and a dumpling). The food tends to come out one by one which is great for sharing in a family type dinner. The staff is friendly but they are brand new so expect some delays. read more
