Great option for a cozy dinner in Avon. The interior of the space gives off a cute rustic vibe, and food is pretty unpretentious. I had been craving a salad for days, and the rucola salad really hit the spot - perfectly dressed with the candied nuts and blue cheese adding just the right amount of sweet crunch / savory creaminess to balance out the arugula. The funghi pizza was nothing to write home about - it's a shame because in theory all the ingredients were great (mushrooms! truffle oil!) but they got lost in the execution (crust lacks the lightness and airiness of a good crust). The tiramisu was a surprise winner at the end of the night, not too sweet and just the right amount creaminess (note if you dislike the taste of alcohol in your tiramisu, this is the tiramisu for you - I didn't detect any alcohol in the dessert). read more

Delicious Italian food in an unexpected place! We happened upon Ticino when the original place we wanted to get lunch was out of most of the food options. I'm so glad we came here! I enjoyed a prosciutto pizza, add goat cheese, that was salty, sweet and everything I love about those flavor combinations. Easily enough for two people. My husband got the chicken parm and finished it off quickly, he obviously was a fan. Service was attentive and the outdoor patio was nice and relaxing. This was my favorite meal in Avon. Everything was delicious from the fresh homemade bread to the fresh homemade pasta. Everyone in my family enjoyed their meal. From pasta with meatballs to chicken piccata and pasta bolognese all of it was fantastic. We certainly recommend visiting if you are in the area. Ticino was phenomenal. Who knew such a cozy, family run Italian gem could be hidden in an unassuming office building in the middle of Beaver Creek? It's an intimate restaurant, so make sure to make reservations if you wanna get a seat. The Asiago appetizer dip is unreal - the cheese is borderline too rich, but the roasted red peppers and herbs cut it just enough to make it decadent. I tried the la Rosa pappardelle and was blown away - I'm usually an Arabbiata girl but this has hooked me on rose sauce! It was the perfect blend of tangy tomato and cream. The pappardelle was perfectly al dente and soaked up the sauce so well. I tried a bite of the braised veal short ribs as well and they were amazing - extremely tender and full of flavor! This place is wonderful. I love homemade pastas and theirs is wonderful! In fact, I liked it so much that I tried to go back the next evening for dinner but they were booked. This place left a lot to be desired. I went for dinner with my boyfriend at the bar. There really isn't a great ambiance as you're sitting with your back to the entrance of what feels like an office building and the ice machine is buzzing right behind you. We got in early and the place was at about 15% capacity and service was very slow then and throughout albeit friendly. Espresso martini is decent, margaritas are awful, wine list is very limited but reasonably priced. We started with the spinach salad and it was excellent and fresh. I ordered the lasagna which was billed as their "house speciality". Impressive presentation but expectations are always higher when one item is called out as a speciality. The lasagna was good but not memorable or anything I would order again. He ordered the Il diavolo pizza which sounds great on paper. Unfortunately the pizza crust was soggy underneath and pizza didn't seem to be cooked through enough. He only ate a piece. They did offer 50% off the pizza because when they asked how it was we let them know. Overall, average spot if you're in a pinch for dinner but ask for your pizza well done or stick to a salad. It's worth spending more to go somewhere that delivers better Italian food in town. read more

Great find in Beaver Creek! Really enjoyed the lasagna, margarita pizza, and the chicken cacciatore! Fresh ingredients and obviously made fresh. Fast and friendly service. Location was great for pickup while staying at the Seasons next door. The margarita pizza wasn't exactly what I'm used to with brick oven Roma style (like Marco's Coal Fired in Denver or Juliana's in NY; which I prefer) but the flavor was excellent and ingredients fresh. We went back about 3 times this week during our stay and will be back again with future visits! Definitely recommend. The place is kinda small and intimate so as they recommend on website, call ahead and make a reservation if you're planning on dining in. read more

We went here just before Christmas and this was a very very solid spot. The part that makes it cool is that it is such a small restaurant and you know everything is homemade and just good. Like other reviews have said, it is in kind of a weird strip mall thing below some condos, but don't let that fool you from what it has to offer. We enjoyed some fantastic pasta. Wanted so much to enjoy Ticino, and we did, but it just really didn't do it for me or my guest. The service was great, the location is convenient, and it has the homey feel of a family restaurant, but we just did not connect with the food. Super friendly owner came by to see how things were. We said it was great, but felt badly to say how we really felt about the food. I ordered pizza that lacked the crust, sauce or cheese I enjoy (what else is there, really?). My guest ordered a pasta that also lacked the consistency and sauce she prefers. We had a lovely evening sitting outside on the patio, enjoying a glass of Chianti and our dinners, but likely won't repeat for dinner, as the food simply didn't resonate. Not bad. Not great. We ordered takeout for the first time from Ticino. The prices were high, but we assumed it would be worth it. We got gnocchi with pesto, gnocchi with Alfredo sauce, and lasagna. Upon getting it home, we were surprised that $60 got us just a serving of the above. We shouldn't have been surprised, there was no mention of anything else. No bread, no salad. Very surprising for an Italian restaurant. The food was delicious and plentiful. The person at the counter was polite and efficient. The seating area looked cozy and clean. I'm not sure we'll order from there again to take home but maybe next time we will try to eat inside. read more

We started with the Caesar salad - which I thought was lacking in the dressing department. Just not caesar-enough? However - their Il Diavolo pizza was outstanding! I am so sorry but what is the 4.5 rating about? We were so eager to try Ticino after seeing the reviews but it was just average. I felt our server was not overly friendly. She wasn't rude or anything but was not warm at all and did not spend any measurable time with us. There seemed to be some confusion between servers as I could hear them, repeatedly, ask who had table # X or Y. It was distracting and should have been handled more discreetly. My son had the ahi that, at $31, was very overpriced for a dish he said was not good. I had the lasagna. OK, not great. My husband had the fettucine alfredo which he enjoyed. My son had the chianti which he said was not really that good. I don't know what it was but it was just one of the less impressive and more disappointing meals in the Vail area. We are definitely not food snobs and have a pretty solid tolerance for a restaurant's weaknesses but this was just blah and forgettable. Would not recommend nor return to. We left wishing we'd eaten somewhere else. read more

We had a hankering for Italian food so we thought we would try Ticino's. It met our expectations of being yummy with fresh made-from-scratch ingredients. I had the meatball and marinara sandwich which hit the spot with rich wholesome marinara sauce tasting like it was freshly made from homegrown tomatoes. Hubby had the chicken tortellini special which he said was very good and son had a mushroom pizza which he devoured. Service was excellent! I am not sure if they were from the noodles or chicken preparation portion of the dish but not something I would expect with this recipe. Then, the tiramisu was straight bland. Ticino is a very quaint and comfy place to eat! They even have an outside patio. Their service is great, wine menu has a wide range, and the food is very good!! I ordered their gluten free pasta which was awesome! My friends had their La Rosa sauce which was very yummy! Ticino's pasta was great, the homemade bread is crusty and delicious, and the Italian wine was awesome! This is a very good place to choose when coming to Avon area. It's a little hard to find on the inside, but if you see the sign on the outside.... you can just enter in through the back patio. read more

We ate at Ticino while staying in Avon during our recent Beaver Creek ski trip. We were at the Westin Riverfront and Ticino is a easy 10 minute walk or 3-4 minute drive. It's is a little hard to find and not well marked. Look for the big sign for Bob's place. Ticino is locate in the same building. The place is very small, so I highly recommend reservations. We saw many people try to just walk in and were turned away. In the summer months there is outdoor patio seating, doubling the number of tables. So reservations may be less important. We split a caprese salad which was perfect for 2 people. However, we found the fresh mozzarella to be bland, a little too soft and runny. They bring you out crusty bread fresh from their brick oven. It was hot, crusty and delicious. We also order the carne pizza. It was excellent and covered in meat toppings. Finally we had the gnocchi. It was a little heavy for gnocchi, but the sauce was excellent and perfect for dipping the crusty bread. Prices are about what you expect for a resort town. Slightly less than in the big hotels, but still on the expensive side. Overall we enjoyed Ticino and we will definitely go back the next time we are in town. read more
