Charming little restaurant. Not a lot of seating so you have to have a reservation. They gave us 5pm reservation and asked that we be done at 6:30. We had escargot- that was so good!!!! Two of us had pizza - very good and brick oven baked. Another had bison ravioli - very good. Another had scallops with mushroom crème sauce on wide noodles - again very good. Ticino came highly recommend by the concierge. This was our second to the last dinner in Avon in a four day celebration for my birthday with friends from back home. It's next to Blue Plate. The place is cute. With reservations made we walked in and was seated almost immediately. Then it started. We were forgotten. The staff serving the water was the only one that keeps popping up for refills. Roots were growing...I was aging by the decades...my friends were getting restless... A new waiter was assigned to the floor that night. An hour and fifteen minutes later we finally was able to tell him what we wanted and we also found that that it's his first day and he's new to the industry. I can't help but get upset. It took us only about 15-20 minutes to eat. The rest was all about waiting. We just wanted to leave the place. The food was great but the wait was horrible! We found Ticino on Yelp and it was literally a 3 min walk from our hotel. Inside the Avon Center, we were able to sit on the patio. The place wasn't busy and the service was impeccable - very family friendly. I believe the owner continuously walked around making sure every customer was happy. We ordered the Spinaci Salad and the Il Diavolos pizza to share. The salad was very good - spinach, pancetta bacon, onions and a vinaigrette. The pizza was spicy - the way that hubby likes them. I had to take out a few jalapeños, but I too enjoyed it. For dessert, we decided on the 3 scoop gelati of amaretto, pistachio, and salted caramel. We ate the whole thing! The place was a little difficult to find, but the Yelp reviews were good enough for me to keep searching and it was well worth the effort! There was free bread with olive oil. I ordered the stuffed chicken breast which came with garlic parmesan potato puree and sauteed veggies. One fear of mine when I order chicken is it'll be overcooked, but the chicken was cooked well and still juicy on the inside. crisis averted! This little place was so enjoyable! Not a huge place so nicer quiet atmosphere. We made reservations to be able to sit outside. The food all taste fresh and homemade, and was not extremely heavy like most common Italian restaurants. The Tiramisu was so good, my husband said maybe the best he's ever had and it's not a go to dessert for him. I thought the eggplant might make this a weird combination but I tried it anyway and it hit the spot. The eggplant parm was delicious and not overly saucy and layered well with the mushroom cream. I want this place to be good, I really do. Unfortunately, I have to report that the meals my wife and I had over the weekend were disappointing. The lasagna is supposed to be a signature dish but arrived only lukewarm (slightly warmer after it was sent back), and we think it made us both sick within an hour of leaving the dining room. The baked asiago cheese is just that, a blob of melted cheese in a casserole dish. Do not recommend. My wife and I ate here during our June 2022 Visit to Vail. We both had great meals. My wife had pappardelle pasta with Bolognese sauce, and she had eggplant parmigiana on top of it. She thought it was excellent. I had braised short ribs. These were amazingly tender and delicious. They came with polenta which went well with the sauce. There was also a side of flavorful roasted mixed vegetables. I loved my meal. We both had salads which were great as well. The portions were large and reasonably priced. I thought with the reviews i would love this place. Children's menu doesn't have spaghetti, so we had to buy a very small adult portion for 17.99 to split between 2 children 5 and 9. It wasnt enough to feed them. I love Chicken picata and it was so bland. Just not really good Italian food. Too expensive for the portion size and bland. Service ok, not very friendly. Guy at cashier, not friendly yesterday when we walked in. Don't walk in without a reservation. With all of the great places to eat in Vail , I will choose differently next time read more

We just finished having an amazing dinner at this restaurant. Our server Luis took such good care of us, throughout the evening. We started with Burrata Caprese, which was so fresh and delicious. Next we split the Gorgonzola Pizza (we subbed the bacon for mushroom). The pizza was just what we needed, so tasty. Next we split the homemade spaghetti and eggplant Parmesan. We sat outside and it was pleasant. The arugula salad was plentiful and good - mostly greens- minimal other items as described on the menu. Both of our pastas were just average - nothing special. The penne & spaghetti were overcooked and a bit soft. The arrabbiata sauce was overly spicy and drowned the penne. The bolognese sauce tasted a bit 'off' due to an unidentifiable herb. It too overwhelmed the pasta. Don't expect 'big-city' quality pasta dishes but take it for where you're having dinner.
