Just last evening we ordered a take out meal from Ticino. We were staying at the Wyndham just a few steps from Ticino but were tired from skiing so we decided to eat in. Never again at Ticino. We ordered three pasta meals, a salad, and a kids meal. $100 later, it was the worst Italian meal I have ever had. Pasta was mushy, sauce nothing special and the Italian sausage, and eggplant we added to our pasta was far below our expectations for our $100. Never again, Ticino. Awesome food, great service. The restaurant is small and we showed up with a party of 10 but they fit us in even though we didn't have a reservation. Would recommend a reservation to be safe. The wine, salads, soup, pizza and pastas were all wonderful. We had 2 kids in our party and it was a good place for them as well. We stopped on our way to Denver from Hanging lake. Pit stop at this restaurant was worth. All the pastas was so fresh,I haven't eaten such pasta before. II Diavolo pizza was amazing. This is a yummy little pizzeria/Italian restaurant. Despite its somewhat unimpressive interior (though the bar and wood oven are cool), all the food we ordered (we were with another couple) was fantastic. The gorgonzola pizza was delish, the antipasti appetizer also yummy, as well as the asiago appetizer. Our friends also enjoyed their carne pizza and arugula salad. Yes once again thank you Yelp! Really small place and yes a little tough to find, but if you take the bus line in Avon, and pay attention you will see a sign for the place. It is actually on the opposite side of the building but well worth the look. We came in on a weeknight this past week during spring break. Called ahead of time to get reservations. Little family owned place. Awesome. Nice people, good attention to water/drink refills and the food was amazing. All the sauces are made to order, so if you want a variation on what is on the menu, not a problem and even encouraged. We had the following orders at our table - Gorgonzola pizza, fettucini alfredo with meatballs and eggplant parm with a side of olive oil/garlic sauce that had some spicy peppers added in for a little kick. Go to this place and get some food. You will not be disappointed. Had a really nice conversation after the meal with our waitress and her husband. Just really good people. We will be back! read more

Went there with a huge group of people and from the get go we were treated rudely. After telling us we couldn't sit on the patio because it was too full, we insisted and entered a completely empty patio. The food was way over priced and the quality was nothing more than food you could buy premade at the grocery store. The waiter only brought us half of the things we asked for between drinks and napkins. The waiter told one gluten intolerant guest that the gnocchi was gluten free until another member of party asked what kind of flour they used and he said wheat. Overall, not worth the price for food or service. Our group was large and tip was included so they didn't try and it was obvious. read more

The atmosphere here may be warm and friendly as others have suggested, but when it comes to food, THEY HAVEN'T GOT A CLUE! My husband and I each ordered pasta. His fettuccine was overcooked and came with one link of sausage that was tasteless and dense, as though it had been boiled forever. My spaghetti, while properly cooked was topped with a generous portion of eggplant significantly undercooked. While Ticiino, to their credit, was quick to replace the eggplant the replacement was also tasteless. Apparently they don't fry it but saute it in a pan. Their version of spaghetti sauce contains large chunks of tomatoes significantly undercooked and flavorless. There are lots of alternatives in Avon: skip this one. read more

Dined here on Friday night. My wife had the lasagna and I ordered the gnocchi with pesto cream sauce and chicken parmesan. Both were outstanding. The service was great and they treated us like guests in their home. Portions are very big, so order accordingly. The locals we spoke to before selecting Ticino all said it was there favorite and we agree. Tucked away in a little shopping center so a little hard to find, but worth it. read more

Found Ticino's right behind our resort for a late lunch. We sat out on the patio, and even with the construction going on next door(which sadly will block their view of the mountains) it was lovely. The charming wait staff was friendly, attentive and prompt. We had the Thursday special soup, which was a great house-made cream of mushroom. Then we split a panini - chicken, artichoke hearts, home made pesto. We had a delightful time. We can highly recommend this little trattoria. read more

Amazing restaurant with amazing food. The Alfaro pasta was some of the best I have ever had in my life. Also the cannoli was really good. The server was very nice and we were seated right away. Everything but the marinara is made in house, and the only reason for that "oversight" is the time it takes to cook said sauce. So, it's made by the staff offsite. That should be all you need to know. But, I must say that the tiramisu is legit (especially considering it's one of the more overdone desserts), the meatballs were almost as good as my Italian grandmother's (no one's ever come close before), and the pasta has that impossible to imitate, homemade flavor--rich, smooth yet hearty, and satisfying. The pricing won't shut you out, either--my wife and I shared salad and main and desert and left content. Fantastic place. read more

Great food at a great price. A combination that is hard to find in the Vail-Avon area. A little tough to find but the patio and restaurant are quite elegant. We give Ticino a solid A. We have eaten there twice during our stay in Avon. First night we had pizza and it was delicious: light, thin, crisp crust and not too spicy of sauce. The second time we each ordered an entree: veal and chicken piccata. Again, delicious, accompanied by wonderful pasta and vegetables. The house bread was delicious. Staff is very professional. It is a small, attractive restaurant with both indoor and outdoor seating. Quiet so you can actually have a conversation. Extremely hard for us to find ( Park at Bobs), but really worth it. Small family owned restaurant that serves homemade pastas and incredible second courses. It was so hard to choose! Two of us had the lasagna which was incredible, one had pasta with creamy pesto and a side of meatballs and the other hubby had pasta with Alfredo sauce and a side of eggplant Parmesan.
