We give Ticino a solid A. We have eaten there twice during our stay in Avon. First night we had pizza and it was delicious: light, thin, crisp crust and not too spicy of sauce. The second time we each ordered an entree: veal and chicken piccata. Again, delicious, accompanied by wonderful pasta and vegetables. The house bread was delicious. Staff is very professional. It is a small, attractive restaurant with both indoor and outdoor seating. Quiet so you can actually have a conversation. They offer a sufficient wine list and prices are reasonable for the area. read more

Do not be put off by the rather dreary entrance inside the building lobby. Once inside the restaurant or on the patio, the atmosphere is very nice. The staff is friendly and attentive and the food very good. An excellent meal for a very fair price. One recommendation would be to provide fabric napkins rather than paper. read more

This is a wonderful mom and pop Italian place that the Westin recommended during our stay. The owner seated us when we arrived and everyone was very welcoming. All the food that people around us had looked good so we knew we couldn't go wrong. My husband went with the fettucine alfredo with grilled chicken and I had one of the best pizzas of my life. The make wood fired, thin crust pizza. I chose mine topped with mozzarella, gorgonzola, roma tomatoes and red onions. After it came out of the oven, they topped it with fresh baby spinach and a drizzle of champagne viniagrette. It was delicious that night and the next day for lunch in the car on the way back to the airport! Five stars all around!! read more

We ate at Ticino as tourists - probably like many of their clientele. Wait service was good, atmosphere nice, but the management and kitchen leave a LOT to be desired. One of us ordered lasagna. 45 minutes later, after our salad and just before we expected to be served our entrees, we're informed "Sorry, we ran out of lasagna." Bummer, but we understood such things can happen. But, no apology from management, no pricing the replacement meal at same cost as the lasagna, no comping of a dessert or other amenity as a way to apologize. We were treated like tourists who will not often return. Bad on Ticino. I recommend avoiding this place if you are a tourist. There are better options in the valley. read more

All of the pasta entrees are "create your own" dishes. They have tons of options including pick your pasta, sauces, and choose a protein. Add anything from scallops to veal to chicken / eggplant parmesan. I had penne with la rosa sauce and chicken parmesan... it was perfect. The lasagna looked good but I wouldn't have ordered it. Great little spot, give it try. A tad on the expensive side, $18 for lasagna and around $22 for a pasta dish. read more

Water was very attentive. Wine list, while small has some gems ate great prices. Funghi Pizza was the best mushroom pizza I have ever eaten. They saute the mushrooms with balsamic vinegar. Gorganzola pizza was also beautifully understated with the strong cheese not domiating. Ended with $2 a large scoop gelato. read more

Excellent overall experience. Manager Charles Frey and the waitstaff ensured that our meal was as pleasant as possible. Charles was especially attentive: he visited our table several times and tirelessly devoted himself to make sure that every table was having amazing meals. The food was perhaps a tad expensive, but absolutely within standard Vail/Beaver Creek pricing and worth every cent. It was also extremely authentic, some of (if not) the best Italian food that I have had on this side of the Atlantic. As stated in several reviews below, all sauces and pastas were homemade and delicious along with the meat and vegetables. I had penne with the creamy pesto sauce; it was of superior quality. Highly recommended for all those visiting the Avon/Beaver Creek area. N.B.: Reserve a day or two in advance; the restaurant is extremely popular. read more

Best pasta ever. We created our our pasta dish. I had blackened chicken with Alfredo and homemade fettuccine and I asked them to make it a little spicy. It was so delicious. My hubby had la rosa sauce with the pappardelle noodles. It was really a toss up for which was better. The food was great and the service was as well. We definitely recommend checking it out. Also, be sure to make reservations as the place is small and clearly folks love it. We tried to go back again and the wait was 2 hours. Highly recommend. :) read more

We went there last night after reading some of the reviews on Yelp. Bellissimo! It took a while to figure out what to order as the menu provided several items that looked fantastic. Finally ordered the "La Rosa" sauce on penne with chicken park and gnocchi with bolognese and eggplant parm. The "La Rosa" sauce reminded me of Boston's North End where the cooks are yelling at each other in Italian in the kitchen. We will be making this a repeated stop whenever we are in Avon again! read more

Extremely hard for us to find ( Park at Bobs), but really worth it. Small family owned restaurant that serves homemade pastas and incredible second courses. It was so hard to choose! Two of us had the lasagna which was incredible, one had pasta with creamy pesto and a side of meatballs and the other hubby had pasta with Alfredo sauce and a side of eggplant Parmesan. I had the salad with pecans, goat cheese and sliced pears. Yum! All delicious. Reasonably priced, attentive service. Not a fancy dining place, casual, well lit and a winner for Italian! read more

This is a great place. During our 5 day visit we went twice, both visits outstanding. Chicken Parm- with Bolognese sauce is a 10! A house specialty "Pollo Morano" a must try- a 10! This place could be in Chicago or Boston and match any Top Italian in those 2 cities. I see some neg reviews from Florida and Texas, they know nothing about Italian food! Food was excellent and service was good. Pasta was homemade and all dishes were tasty. However, be careful not to upset the owner/ general manager in any way that is not your doing. He will become an immediate "donkey" and offend you after spending $300. It was a tight service night and we were warned early on that we had a 90 minute window to eat. With 10 minutes to go, we ordered desert to go and asked for check to abide by wishes. 15 min later, we had paid but we're still waiting on his staff to being the desert and this tool that probably could not manage a Taco Bell came over, pointed to his watch and said. "You've over stayed and I need this table." Forgiving the rude comment, we apologized and assured we were on our way. Then he continued, "we had an agreement. I have people waiting. I need this table. You are being rude by overstaying" That was it for our group. Verbal altercation continued on out the door, by which there was no group waiting for a table. We said we would never go back and we won't. Good food or not, this behavior should not be rewarded with business. Go at your own risk. read more

Ticino is awesome. We went on a Monday night during spring break and unfortunately didn't have a reservation. The bar was open, so we sat at the bar which gave us the opportunity to talk to the owner and get the best recommendations. Lasagna with a Peroni was my choice. It was awesome. My wife had Salmon which she loved and my kids were happy with cheesy garlic bread and spaghetti and meatballs. What a great place to eat. All around great experience. We rode our bikes here for dinner one night. It's a little hard to find but we found it by spotting their patio. We were greeted by the owner who suggested inside dining since we were a bit hot. The inside has a great atmosphere. We ordered drinks and started off with the mista salad to split. It was so fresh and good! We learned what caper berries were and loved them. Next we tried the perperoncini farcite which are jalapeño stuffed with sundried tomato cream cheese, wrapped with prosciutto and ranch drizzled on top. SO GOOD!!! We're from Texas and have haf stuffed peppers a lot and this dish is one we want to recreate! We ordered a pizza next. Now my husband is a pizza lover....so he is very critical on rating pizza. We ordered the Margherita pizza and added prosciutto. He said its the best pizza he's ever had. Wood-fired, with crispy crust, and light on the cheese. They offered fresh parmesan cheese which is so much better then the dry powder. We ended our meal with tiramisu which was fluffy and melt in your mouth. Don't be fooled by the hidden location and low key decor, this is authentic northern Italian cuisine at reasonable prices served up by Charles and his staff who really care about their customers. The melted Asiago cheese was a hearty starter, the Pollo Cacciatore was very tasty and the pastas were fresh and made to order. Try the tiramisu, every customer was raving about it. read more

HORRIBLE service. Not enough staff on a known busy event weekend. Unorganized. Food orders came out incorrect and at sparatic times. Waiting staff did not know what food belongs to which table or which person at the table. Bill took 15+ min to get to us after we were all finished eating and plates were cleared from the table. Ticino is located inside a condo business complex, so it can be hard to find. While it has both indoor and outdoor dining, during the winter the outdoor area is closed. The inside is very small and cozy and maybe 12 small table and seats max 50 people so do make reservation in advance especially if you have a large group. And not a place for loud children/adults either unless you can sit outside. The star here is their homemade, made to order fresh pastas, which you pick the sauce, marinara, pesto, or rosa, etc. and meat chicken, pork etc. The pastas we had, pappardelle and spaghetti, were perfectly made and perfectly al dente. Everything here was well made and balanced. The salad even had candied whole walnuts (the walnuts could be halved for easier handling and chewing!) And while it is casual, dinner for 3 without wine was over $120 and that is expected for the high quality food and very much the norm in Beaver Creek/Vail areas. Just don't expect cheap food and a hole in the wall pizza joint because it says pizza and pasta on the sign. read more

Great home-made Italian food in the heart of town. We sampled appetizer, salad, entree, etc. All were fresh, well-prepared and delicious. Pasta is made in house and you can tell the difference. The staff is friendly and attentive. Even the owner stopped by our table twice. In the summer be sure to eat outside on the patio. read more
