Delicious! The only reason I did not rate 5 stars was due to the limited choice of sides! It wouldn't hurt to add a veggie side but everything we had was delicious. My blackened cobia sandwich didn't last more than a few minutes. I had to slow myself to be able to enjoy the delicious flavor and seasoning of the fresh seafood. It definitely is fresh! They clean the fish straight off of the dock there attached to the restaurant and we got to watch them prepare the grouper. Relaxing environment on the water. Best Seafood I have found in the entire area. Service is incredible with great people and laid back attitude. I have been in there for a quick lunch and also for an all day affair and everything remains top-notch every time. They have several go-to's: Fish Tacos, Grouper Bites, all of their baskets, but don't be afraid of the daily specials, I have yet to ever be disappointed. We are locals. Have been for 30+ years. Food and atmosphere are great. Just watch out for the parking attendant with the straw hat. Follows you until you park and attempts to deter you from eating there by giving you the long wait time as soon as you pull in. Also, he has spots reserved for "big trucks in case they come." Overall - just ok. We visited while on vacation. We were looking for local, fresh seafood. Tide Tables is exactly that. While there was nothing terrible about our experience, there was nothing stellar either. We started with Grouper bites. For the price tag, portion size was rather small. The freshly caught, freshly cooked grouper was tough and chewy. My wife got the fish tacos, portion size was large, and flavors were good. I got the Sea Scallops. They were well seasoned, and cooked perfectly. My primary complaint with these types of restaurants (locally caught fresh seafood) continues to be the price. When "meh" grouper bites, the lunch portion of sea-scallops, fish tacos and a kids cheese burger, run you just shy of $70, it just doesn't feel right. Pair that with outdoor dining on picnic tables, and bland service and I just can't bring myself to steer anyone in the direction of Tide Tables. The price, food and experience simply don't add up. Try if you like, can't say I recommend it. read more

Tide Tabes is one our favorites in the area! Seafood is fresh and excellent. Last night our table had seafood platter, Maui Maui, and fish tacos. Everyone loved their meals! We also shared the key lime pie, this is the best we have found. The sunset was beautiful too. We are beer drinkers, so we enjoyed Darwin brews. We heard they have a nice wine selection. This tiny joint on the water kicks ass! We were watching a guy filet a big bunch of Red Grouper & red snapper on the pier that was caught that day. When he was done bagging it he walked it right into the restaurant...now you can't get any fresher than that! Frying grouper is almost criminal in my book but having said that the grouper bites were fantastic and my blackened was as well. Fish tacos, fantastic. What an excellent place. Friendly, good value, excellent scenery on the bay. The only drawback is the parking. This place gets filled up in a hurry. Wow what a find this was. It appears a lot of others found it first due to the ratings and the 35 minute wait . It was 5:40 pm though . Get there early they are only open till 8pm. We sat at the bar so we could eat right away . The lady bartender was first rate. We had some starters that we shared as our meal. Yummy! Caesar Salad , peel and eat shrimp, and grouper! Shrimp po boy is a no go. Ordered the shrimp blackened and expected a decent size sandwich for the price. It came out on a bun about 8 inch in length and had 4 shrimp that are the 41-60 count very very small. Let's say I took 2 bites of the po boy and the rest was bread. Been coming down to Cortez for years and never ever knew about Tide Tables until uncle Jim hipped us up- glad he did. The sunshine is abundant, the food is terrific, Louie the Bartender was awesome and I am sure I had the BEST FISH TACOS EVER! They hide a smudge of Sesame Ginger dressing in the slaw that makes it wonderful. Don't give up on Star Fish but do give Tide Tables a try. You won't be disappointed! read more
