Came here for lunch on a Sunday before heading to the beach. Food took forever to come out, around 45 minutes, and all we ordered was a sandwich, which I'm assuming didn't require anything to be cooked. Also, none of the staff (owner/manager?, cashier, and chef) was wearing a mask. I also saw the chef snacking on fries as he was cooking in the back. So here was my experience for a party of two visiting this place for the first (and last) time. At the counter we ordered a couple of beers, a kooks pizza and a zooport salad. The guy taking our order was nice and shared that they were all out of the Romaine Gem lettuce that my salad usually comes with and that they could substitute it for regular Romaine instead. I thought, no problem that's fine. The salad came out first and we had to wait an additional 10 minutes for the pizza (not ideal for them to be brought over at different times). I immediately noticed that the dressing was not on the side from my salad like I requested, but rather all mixed in. I thought I wouldn't make a big deal about it because at least it wasn't drenched. As I began to eat the salad I noticed that the salad tasted warm (kinda like lettuce does in a burger, yuck). I tried to rationalize with myself that perhaps they used extra hot water to clean and disinfect their plates that just maybe they didn't wait for it to cool off and added my salad to the plate (probably not). I was so hungry that I decided even against my better judgment that I will just suck it up and eat it. The final straw for me was when I realized that the salad included rotting pieces of lettuce as well a bunch of the white end pieces of the romaine. At this point I felt I was too far into eating it to complain (even though I probably should have). The only reason I am giving this place three stars and not less is because the pizza we ordered tasted decent. I should also note that none of the staff were wearing masks during our visit. read more

Had no idea Tidepoole's was there until I searched for "best sandwiches" on Yelp, saw the great reviews, took a look at the menu and decided to give it a try. We tried the Vinny G sandwich and Zooport salad. To be specific, these are carefully prepared, top quality ingredients, perfectly flavored sandwiches and salads. I can get a bigger sandwich cheaper, but it's won't be anywhere close to as good. How many times have you had an Italian sandwich where you can taste the individual ingredients? Not some pleasantly salty Italian salami mishmash that's good, but perfectly balanced for taste and texture, with an excellent roll. My wife had the salad and reported similar results, noting that the chicken was really great, not the normal salad afterthought.
