One of the first places I tried in Newport Beach and it was delicious! I personally like the Poole Boy Pizza more than The Viking pizza. It had more flavor and the chicken was moist and not dry! The Viking pizza was all meat so if you are a meat lover type, then it's perfect for you! The Wakey Wakey Burrito was soooo delicious!!! Great sandwich, you get a lot of it for your money. But that's the problem, the menu is outdated and they haven't bothered to update the sign. They just taped a piece of paper that says "prices higher due to inflation." Generally speaking, If they can't afford a new menu sign it makes me wonder what else they're cheaping out on. Tide Poole's is one of the best spots in Newport Beach. There really isn't much parking, especially during the summer. The food is worth struggle. Especially the Big Blake or South Swell Pizza. If you can get the breakfast burrito it's the best cure for a hang over. read more

We ordered the Vinnie g sandwich and the single fin pesto pizza. My bf loved the sandwich so much he wouldn't share any lol. I think he ate the whole thing within a minute of opening the box. Music is a little loud - hard to concentrate or have a group conversation. Ordered the turkey club and margherita pizza. Both were very good. Nothing fancy or confusing going on. The food is good and the blonde tatted girl was super cool but the owner/employee (not sure what he was but I imagine he's an employee because he was allowed and familiar with being behind the counter) has some rude and unacceptable behavior. I was simply trying to enjoy a quick lunch when the blonde tatted girl getting sexually harassed by this guy whistling at her and commenting her pink shorts "got him"? Ew, I felt so uncomfortable and sorry for her because this guy could've easily just said "your shorts are cool" and left it at that. I would hope that the management here looks into this whether he's an employee or just a friend of the owner because regardless, that's such a weird and demeaning way to talk to a woman. Can't go wrong with a pickle spear, plus the extra chocolate mints were a sweet touch. We came around 8pm so it was pretty deserted, and parking was easy to find on PCH. It looks like there's a back patio area, but it wasn't super well-lit (it could be because no one wanted to sit back there so they didn't turn the lights on). I just moved to Newport full-time and am beginning my tour through the dining options. I did a search for the highest rated pizza in the region (including areas in Costa Mesa adjacent), and was brought here. Location/parking: 1 Star. At night when you're new on the area. PCH moves very fast & it was hard to know where to turn even with Google directions giving instructions. I ended out turning the wrong way on a one-way street (lucky to avoid a tragedy), then couldn't find any nearby parking. It appears there may not be any parking for the restaurant. Since the guy I ordered from knew I had just moved here seems he could have volunteered some guidance when I placed my order. Mushroom Pizza: - Crust is 5 Stars! The outer rim would make great breadsticks! Though next time I'll request it be a bit crispy. - Cheese 5 Stars. It was creamy & ample. - Sauce 1 Star. It was virtually non-existent, I have no idea what it even tastes like! Again, the person who took my order should have warned me they put very little on so I could have requested extra, or requested get a cup on the side. I arrived just before closing, so by the time I got to my car & took a bite then walked back toward the restaurant to get more sauce - the lights were off so there was no opportunity to do anything further. - Mushroom topping: 1 Star. Again very little was on the pizza. Pricing: 1 Star. If it had a reasonable amount of sauce (that tasted good) & mushrooms - 4 Stars. I would NEVER choose to eat any pizza if I knew this is how it's prepared. Btw, I'm a former managing partner of a then very highly rated restaurant so I try to go the extra mile in giving a little higher rating, not lower. I'm also a former commercial real estate broker & consultant who had many restaurant clients, from the then largest privately held restaurant owner in America to plenty of mom & pops. Thus after 40+ years I know what's reasonable, and this was experience was not. I'm going to guess the sauce may actually be good, so I might try eating here again depending how the owner responds. If I do and the pizza is good to great - I'll quickly & happily write a new review. read more

We were staying nearby and discovered a pizza gem! We started with the brussels and they were delicious! The pizza is the real star with fresh toppings and just the right crisp in the crust. The Brussels sprouts with a honey-cherry reduction were probably the best Brussels I have ever had in my life!
