I found Tier1 Leak Detection through Yelp after reading all the customers review. I am happy to say we made the right decision to go with Tier1. I called Tier1 late Sunday night and left a voicemail and in less than an hour I received a call from Johnny, the owner of Tier1, which was not expected. Johnny came out the next day and he went through all the bathrooms to try to find the leak source, and luckily the leak is only in one area. I cannot say enough good things about Johnnie. One, found him by all the good Yelp reviews and I thank all of you who posted. You were/are right. I'm a cash customer - no insurance or warranty work. After another vendor couldn't show, called him in the afternoon and he showed up at 9:00 PM (yes, that's PM) to assess our situation. He was able to determine it was a hot water slab leak and by shutting off the hot water, we were able to have at least cold water back again for the evening. He came back in the morning and set to work. Several hours later, he and his helper had finished and we were back to normal. Other than the section/hole in the wall where he accessed the pipes (was not anticipating finish work as he is a plumber - all leak detection is pretty much the same), everything was spotless. Even had him change out the shutoff valve since it was the old 'twist 25 times to shut off' kind. I HIGHLY recommend Tier 1!!! They are trustworthy, honest, and good at what they do. My home recently had a leak that couldn't be located by another pipe repair specialist. In fact, the worker brought out his stethoscope and admitted his primitive way wasn't the best solution and recommended that I find someone with more high-tech gear. In all fairness, that company specializes in full-house re-piping and not leak detection, but I'll write a review on them later considering they advertised their capabilities in this area. After finding Tier 1 Leak Detection on Yelp and reviewing the glowing reviews, I contacted the owner, Johnny Fong, and spoke to him about his services. I knew immediately that I called the right person based on his professionalism and knowledge. As scheduled, he arrived promptly and was very courteous by wearing booties and making the least amount of noise possible since he was aware that my infant was asleep in the house. Indeed, Johnny came prepared with high-tech equipment resembling a sonar-like device and wands. Within minutes, he identified the location of the leak and thoroughly explained his procedures on how the leak was going to be repaired. Even though he offered to provide me quote so that I could find competing offers, I quickly turned down his offer and awarded him the work then and there. The next day, he and his employee arrived on schedule and commenced work. Again, both gentlemen were being courteous by keeping the noise level down, wearing booties, and properly lining areas with linen and tape to be as clean as possible. Walking me through the procedures again and informing me of potential risk issues, they began to work on my leak and took photos of the damage. Johnny discovered that there were actually a couple of leaks in the same spot and repaired both of them without any issues. He then showed me the pipe that had the damage and helped me understand the root cause to my problem (hard water & copper piping is not a good thing). After doing a thorough clean-up job, and two subsequent follow-up visits to confirm that there were no leaks, Johnny completed the job with my 100% satisfaction. He even assisted me with the water damage by setting up a rented dehumidifier! I have never had a contractor that did an exemplary job, one that made me hope he did other services than only leak detection and repair. TIER 1 LEAK DETECTION and Johnny are simply the best! I had a nasty pinhole that was located by my trusty everyday plumber (whom I trust completely!). Unfortunately he could not fix it because our builder hid the pipe in between two structural headers. Had two other plumbers come out, both of them walking away because of the liability. Contacted another reputable leak detection company my trusty plumber referred me to and they wanted tons of money to just come look at the leak (close to $400) even though I already knew exactly where it was. I sent them pictures since they said they could provide an estimate with pictures. Was promised the estimate by 10 a.m. that day. Next day, still had no estimate from them. Let me begin by saying that Johnny is the best I have ever come across, period. I had a hot water slab leak under my wooden kitchen floors and kitchen sink, and in lieu of bypassing, cutting through drywall and repiping, I opted to have Johnny cut through the concrete, replace the piping with new copper piping, and reconcrete. Johnny laid out all the options and we picked what made sense to us. Johnny was PHENOMENAL!! He did everything from start to finish, meaning jackhammer through the concrete, replace piping, mix new concrete, pour concrete, etc. And all this while being flexible with my flooring guys who were pulling out all of the wood. He even helped the flooring guys move my massive pool table! But what was the icing on the cake is Johnny was here from 9 AM until 9:30 PM, finishing in 1 day as promised, stopping his work as needed to accommodate the flooring guys, and our needs for water. He didn't leave until the job was done. Didn't stop for meals either. And didn't rush with his work. And he warranties it for 5 years! I wouldn't even bother calling anyone else for any major plumbing issues. All in all, he is a trustworthy, extremely efficient and thorough, fair, honest and hard working individual, who earned an A+ in our book. Water was dripping from the recessed lighting in my kitchen, which is directly below my master bathroom. I ended up connecting with Tier 1 due to a neighbor's recommendation. Johnny came out right away and found the leak source pretty quickly. He had to open the dry wall to repair the problem. I was impressed that he cut a neat panel instead of knocking an ugly hole in the wall. He also covered the area with a tarp and cleaned up after himself when he was done. We needed a second opinion after our plumber with 20years experience told us we had a hot water slab leak under our kitchen tile floor. Even though Johnny has only 20 reviews I decided to pick Johnny because of good reviews on being honest/competent/courteous/caring and I was so glad that I did. Johnny clearly explained the options (re-route the broken pipe or re-pipe entire house) and recommended that I re-pipe since I had a slab leak a few years ago. He seems to be a plumber with integrity and because Tier 1 is his own business that he started, he really cares about the customer and goes above and beyond to take care of you. What more could you ask for? I moved into a new house and the water pressure coming into the house was too high, making us susceptible to leaks. My home warranty company, American First Warranty, first assigned me to some plumbing companies with 1 to 3 stars on yelp. I asked to be reassigned to a better company, and they re-assigned me to Tier 1. I was impressed when I spoke to Johnny on the phone because of the questions he asked me and because he was interested in helping me as a customer, not necessarily hustling me. In fact, at first he thought I did not have a problem and advised me to go to home depot and buy a water pressure reader for $20. When it became evident several days later that there was a problem with our water pressure, only then did he come in to replace the water pressure regulator.
