This winter I had a trip planned to go to NYC and visit the flagship Tiffany & Co store to buy myself something special. But then the Covid numbers started going up and the trip was postponed for now. But I was sad because I really wanted to get a lil blue box with lovely white ribbon. My friend said let's go to Tiffany's at Scottsdale Fashion Center and I didn't even know we had a Tiffany & Co in the area but said YES! Let's go! After entering the store, we were greeted by James, he was there to help us on our Tiffany experience. I knew what collection I wanted to buy from for my 1st piece of Tiffany & Co jewelry, but truly enjoyed looking and gazing at everything they had on display. James was very friendly and helpful and offered suggestions and told us our experience in the Scottsdale store would be more personal than at the busy flagship store and he might have been right. Said ok let's do that. was told to go online & do it myself, with fluffy words of course but when I said, you can't help with that, they doubled down. Solidly told to piss off. That was a missed customer service moment for sure. Sorry to bother you, sheesh. Made my appointment, showed up & was quoted a minimum price of $1000. 1 year after purchase, a bracelet that cost $4150 failed, & they wanted nearly a quarter of the price to fix it? Uh no. That's bananas. Sent it in through the website & after evaluation $290. Got it fixed no problem. Make it make sense Fashion Square. If you don't want to process or perform repairs, then don't offer them. It's not that hard. The only good part of the experience at fashion square was that I was in & out in less than 3 minutes. Let me start by saying this: I've been shopping at Tiffany's since I was 14 years old. I'm now in my mid-30s and have built a substantial collection of sterling silver jewelry--all from Tiffany's. Or at least I used to. After what I experienced today, that long-standing loyalty is officially dead. When I arrived at what used to be the iconic Tiffany's location in Scottsdale, I was greeted with... construction. The store has temporarily moved a few doors down, but don't worry--you'll find it easily. Just look for the four men in suits loitering at the entrance, doing nothing but holding up the facade of "luxury." Inside? Not a single customer. Not one! And after interacting with a store rep for all of three minutes, it was painfully obvious why. Tiffany's has become cheap--and not in price, but in principle. I wasn't there to buy anything. I came in with about a dozen of my sterling silver pieces, hoping to get them polished before an upcoming trip. Something I've done with ease for years. The routine was simple: drop off the jewelry, pick it up the next day. Not anymore. Now, apparently, you need to book an appointment online. Why? Who knows--there wasn't a soul in the store, and clearly, the staff had nothing else to do. Reluctantly, the rep told me he'd "make an exception this time." We sat at a sad little desk in the far corner where I started unpacking my pieces. I reminded him I've been a loyal customer for decades and bought almost every single one of these items at that very location. Didn't matter. He informed me--with an unbothered tone--that it would now cost $20 per piece to polish them. Excuse me? I own jewelry from David Yurman, Cartier, John Hardy, the list goes on... Not a single one of those brands charges a cent to clean or polish your silver pieces--especially not for long-time clients who come in once every year or so for this service. But Tiffany's? They've decided to start nickel-and-diming loyal customers for basic service, while paying idle staff to stand around like security guards at a nightclub. This is not the Tiffany's I grew up with. It's a hollow shell of a brand, trying to squeeze every last dollar out of the people who kept it alive in the first place. And if that weren't enough, the rep also tried to sell me a self-polishing kit. This visit will be the last time I ever step foot inside a Tiffany & Co. store. I'll take my business--and my money--somewhere that actually values its customers. I am short with 5 stars. I went in the store when they were opening the new location inside of fashion square about two weeks ago.. the treatment the empathy, EVERYTHING! They made me feel I was buying a $30K piece and I was literally recycling a silver pendant my late husband gave me YEARS ago for my 16 year old. I came to this location to have necklace cleaned. The nice man standing out front walked me back to the customer service area and I waited more than ten minutes to speak with Emily. She was impatient and rude while I was filling out my information on the iPad. She was very curt and short and obviously annoyed by having to help me. She took the necklace and came back to let me know it would be ready in two days. I was visiting from out of town and didn't expect the wait. She didn't offer to ship it for a fee, as she was supposed to. I was glad to walk out of here after wasting 20 minutes, and will never return to this location. Nice stuff! What can I say more? The last time I visited this store about 8 years ago, I purchased a "Return to Tiffany" dog collar necklace. For the heft in the piece, the price was well worth it. It does not seem to tarnish at all and still looks like new. It is my go to piece of jewelry when I travel because it is very easy to wear, goes with everything and what can trump Tiffany??? I had to come in while I was back in town and see what was new and interesting... they have tons of stuff in all price ranges so there are great graduation and wedding gifts here. (look at me, i'm beyond help) My response was " just looking thank you". A few moments later a gentleman approached with a tray, asking if we'd like water or champagne. I said to him "you must be the store director". And he was. It was the beginning of this store as my favorite location. Store Director Doug Aitken has always presented himself as a true caring gentleman. His manner to all who enter this store is above reproach. With his type of wonderful attitude presented, it trickles down to the rest of the staff. Everyone makes you feel welcome and comfortable. Our sales professional and now friend Miss Britta completes the customer care package. Her patient non intrusive approach makes for an easy "look and shop casually". Of course many magnificent pieces are to die for and if I had all the money in the world, it wouldn't be for long because I would spend it all here. If I can give their customer service NO stars I would have! They are so foul and disrespectful. I've bought multiple items in their hardware silver collection and it's all cost me a pretty penny! One of the benefits of purchasing your "silver jewelry" from Tiffany's was that they cleaned it for free BUT not no more! Either times are hitting everyone hard or these SUCKERS are bleeding their loyal customer out of their "silver" to get silver jewelry cleaned because "it's time consuming" and then as soon as the customer agent said that his suggestions to me "just buy DIY silver cleaner" UGH! They are so ugly!!! LOL All snarky witticisms aside, Tiffany & Co does excel at creating some must have, unique pieces of jewelry. Remember how everyone of a certain age needed to get one of those heart shaped sterling silver dog tags and bracelets? And admittedly, those teal blue color boxes are cute and I'm not aware of any that have ever been thrown out! OK, so...no -- I didn't buy anything here. My sister had never seen a Tiffany's, let alone walked through one. We did, and enjoyed looking. Of course, my favorite item was a simple pair of diamond hoop earrings...just a cool $12,000. Other items are the famous Tiffany keys, rings, necklaces, sunglasses, women's bags, bracelets, charms, etc. All ridiculously priced. For years my husband worked within walking distance of Tiffany & Co. in San Francisco and knew he couldn't possibly go wrong bringing me home those blue boxes. To say he spoiled me is a little bit of an understatement. It's been years since we lived or worked near one of their stores now but we always visit when we see one and I've shopped at many locations across the country. While we were in town my husband suggested we drive down to Fashion Square to visit this location and I have to admit that we received the best service we've ever gotten from Tiffany. I had an idea of what I may have wanted and it's always a pleasure to meander through the store in person. I already have a wishlist on his account but he's right, it's much more fun to shop in person. In my opinion we received a nice balance of friendly greetings from the staff and prompt service when we were ready to buy. He selected a beautiful bracelet and necklace set for me and the salesperson even suggested a different way to wear them that I hadn't considered. And while he paid and I wanted some water, they brought us cookies as well. I really do appreciate this as I've shopped with them from California to New York but I'm not the type to get gussied up to try to impress some store. I know I'm not obligated to impress them to receive good service and if I need to spend my money somewhere else or online I will. I was half tempted to not leave a review but after some consideration I believe my voice needed to be heard. The salesperson that I spoke with was somewhat helpful as he had sold me two rings. He let me try on jewelry, listened to my desires, and showed me a few different collections. However during the entire sales process, until I gave him my card, he kept saying snarky comments. To name just a few he had repeatedly said "if you choose to buy it" after I had already said I decided to buy the first ring. It's almost as if he was implying I was going to change my mind because I couldn't afford it. Looking at a different collection, the first ring he showed me had barely any rose gold. I specified I want to see the rose gold and for it to go well with the jewelry I was wearing. The comment that caught my attention was "this is a diamond store not a gold store". Basically, he was telling me to take my business elsewhere. When it came to check out, he pretended to not know my ring size for the first ring. I had questioned "do I need to be resized" as I was pulling out my card. Only then did he magically remember my ring size and didn't resize me. Pulling out my card should not be the cue to take a customer seriously. I truly don't know why he treated me so poorly. I have not seen anything like it anywhere else - it's a cushion cut, with rounded sides, so it is unique, and the side view is stunning as well. What's more is that he got prime customer service from Brittany, who helped him figure out the ideal cut, carat, clarity, color, and band. We returned yesterday to resize the ring (which is free and takes one week) and Shay at customer service really helped us and was thorough! She also helped us engrave the box with the proposal date, which we can't wait to get back! We have been Tiffany customer for decades, so it is hard to write this. We are in the market for a special gift, so we went to look at a sapphire ring that we saw on line. Turns out it is one of a kind and it was not at that store. The sales associate explained the process and we agreed to put a hold on a credit card so the ring could be shipped in. That is when everything fell apart. We were supposed to be notified when it arrived, we were not. When we called to inquire if it had arrived, the sales associate told us that we had already purchased it and it was ready to pick up! We asked to speak to the manager to clarify our prior arrangement, the manager would not talk to us. We immediately called the credit card company to block payment. The manager apparently has no concern about loosing a sale of this magnitude; These people are clearly making too much money. We are just done with Tiffany. For these kinds of prices, you should expect impeccable service. This was a shit show. Tiffany has to take a close look at the people they are hiring if they want to preserve their reputation and premium pricing. This is the second time I've been to this location in the past week. I went last week to drop off my ring to be cleaned. The second I stepped into the store, I was eyed up and down and followed throughout. I was wearing jeans and a nice top, and put together so there was no reason for me to be judged. We come in to see Riz she is professional, friendly and genuine. She always greets us with a big smile and a hug despite the gaps of time that have passed when we haven't been in. I love coming in this store when she is here she makes us feel very special and offers to help us and takes time to catch up on our life.
