Noodles, orange chicken, tiga chicken, tomato with egg, $16.
    Candice F.

Intrigued by the robot woks that prepare the food here and prices and serving sizes are competitive to Panda Express. Think of this as a more upscale Panda with more authentic flavors. We ordered chow mein, orange chicken, tiga chicken and tomato with egg, for $16. Service was friendly and ambiance clean. Only disappoitmen was that they ran out of honey walnut shrimp for the day and it was only lunchtime!

Excited they opened their first location in SD! We came around 5 pm on a weekday and it was pretty quiet but it filled up quickly. Service was friendly and quick and offers samples. My sister and I shared the 2 entree bowl and 3 entree bowl and had so much leftovers, enough for another meal each! -Chow mein (4.5/5): tasty, savory, not dry or super oily -Honey walnut shrimp (4/5): crispy, flavorful, sauce was good, walnuts huge and crunchy -Tiga cola chicken (4/5): tasty, juicy, flavorful, one of my favs -Orange peel chicken (4/5): nicely crispy, sauce is good and not overly sweet or sour -Mapo tofu (2.5/5): haven't really ate this but it wasn't my style, very soft and not that flavorful or spicy Overall, a solid spot for casual and quick Chinese food. Decent prices and generous portions. I would be back!

I've been meaning to try Tigawok at their other locations in California, so I'm ecstatic they opened one locally in SD! I must say the concept of robots cooking is pretty cool. I stopped by on a weekday for dinner around 5PM and it wasn't too busy at the time, but quickly got packed as we ate. Service was quick and friendly. My sister and I got the 2 entree bowl & 3 entree bowl and we both had half left, so the portion is pretty generous! Decently priced too Chow mein (4.5/5): really good, flavorful and not dry or overly oily! Orange peel chicken (4.5/5): I honestly haven't had that much orange chicken (since it's not really real Chinese food), but I quite like this one! Not overly sweet or sour, and has a nice crunch Honey walnut shrimp (4/5): crispy and the sauce was yummy. The shrimp is decently sized Tiga cola chicken (4/5): very tender but I prefer the orange chicken Mapo tofu (3/5): tofu is very soft but not that spicy and I thought it could've used more flavor. We added the optional ground pork which was alright Overall, I would come back to either get the combo bowls or try family style and get a bunch of different bowls! A great, casual option for Chinese food

Wow! I am pleasantly surprised by this place! Definitely worth the visit. We originally wanted to go to Ikes but saw this place opened and decided to stop in. They have basically 2 ways you can order. An entree with a side and 2 mains (about 12-17 dollars), or you can order by mini bowl (2-8 dollars)We decided to get 3 mini bowls! We ordered the red braised pork belly, orange chicken, and chow mein. You go through a line similar to subway or chipotle as they dish out what you want. The place itself is really clean and definitely new! A nice bright spice with a easy concise menu and way to order. Let me go over the food! Red Braised Pork Belly and Potato: oh my word, I am obsessed with this. The pork melts in your mouth and the potatoes don't even need to be chewed they're so soft. The entire thing is soooo well flavored too. Orange Chicken: unlike some places this has a good chicken to breading ratio and the orange flavor is very natural tasting and not a fake sickly orange. Chow Mein: really good and jamm packed with veggies! Really flavorful too and not overly greasy. Staff were also super nice and helpful when ordering and trying to figure out what to get! Will 100% be back!

This is the upscale panda express and I would say it has a unique concept of using wok robots to cook their food. I will say that the flavor and the price are worth it in the four-star category. This is your casual, fast, dining and being in the location it is I think it will do well. The portions are fairly large and the price point is equivalent so I would say it's worth visiting grabbing a food to go or if you are needing a quick bite to eat I would say this is your place if you want Chinese food that's quick and flavorful. They are new so many things they are trying to figure out one of the unique aspects is that they are giving out nice bags for it to go orders currently.

Great grand opening day! The lines went by fast and I felt they really wanted you to have a great experience. I was debating between cola chicken and orange chicken, so glad they offer a sample to help me finalize my decision. Portions are great especially for the price. Even though it's "fast/casual" Chinese food, they really got some Chinese staples that I love. Mapo tofu was great and so was the braised pork belly. A good amount of seats and can't wait to go back to try the other dishes.

So glad they finally open a location in SD! Today it's their grand opening day. I love their location when I first had Tigawork in Sawtelle. I love the dishes offer are more authentic Chinese dishes. For their grand opening promo they have a BOGO deal. Buy 1 Tigabowl (2 or 3 entree) you get a free mini bowl (any value) and a free ice tea. Definitely a great time to give them a try if you have not had them before. I loved their mapo tofu (got a little kick), braised pork belly (so tender), eggplant + green bean (got some wok hei). Service is great, the line moved fast even though everyone had a Q about the grand opening promo. Very clean and plenty of seating! It's right across a large parking lot, so no issues with parking either. Will definitely be back!

    - a great quick bite spot in La Jolla village! - prices are reasonable for the variety and quality you get - both bowls were yummy and perfectly seasoned - we'll definitely be back for try their other offerings! - service works like a cafeteria where you grab a tray and order, pay, and grab all your own lids if needs and utensils - it's spacious inside with plenty of seating

Tigawok is a modern casual restaurant specializing in offering mini bowls of Asian/Chinese cuisine with a range of flavors. The first restaurant opened in LA and has branched off to other locations: Burbank, Irvine and now here in La Jolla. Side note, I first learn about Tygawok because it turns out, the rapper Tyga (dated Kylie Jenner) is a part owner when the LA restaurant opened. Tyga heavily promoted the restaurant. Tyga's Vietnamese mom in heaven would be proud to see Tyga and his entrepreneurial ventures succeed. Tigawok occupies a space formerly held by an asian/korean fusion restaurant. Same interior layout but had some minor tweaks in terms of seating and now the display of food choices similar to their competitor Panda Express. I'm not a hugh fan of Panda Express since their menu and portions had declined but their lower price points beats Tigawok. Tigawok had 14 items ready made foods and 6 were veggie options. I like the concept of mini bowls because one can select many dishes to try without over spending. The restaurant was clean and neat as to be expected from a new place. The female server behind the counter was helpful and nice. I did witness a male staffer pick a chicken with a toothpick to eat without gloves, which was disturbing. Good thing I don't eat chicken dishes much and certainly no chicken dishes here after seeing that and frankly is NOT good by all means which I'm sure the overhead video cam caught! I asked to taste sample the Wagyu Beef curry, and it was placed in a small bowl by the female staffer who had gloves. The beef Wagyu curry was good but a tad too sweet for my liking, although my pup liked it lol. My selections were mostly non meat: mapo tofu, eggplant, brussel sprouts, garlic broccoli and veggie chow mein. As usual, I over ordered and had most of it boxed togo. My Viking friend is a carnivore, he ordered three entrees; 2 meat dishes and everything was piled onto a larger plate. He enjoyed the spicy beef, wagyu beef curry, eggplant/green beans and the steamed white rice. Everything tasted delish, we had a satisfactory lunch and would consider a return visit when in this part of La Jolla which I don't frequent much, since I live much closer to the beach and this place is further inland. Tygawok and its concept of mini bowls of Asian and Chinese flavorful foods is sure to become among the favorite places to dine and is a welcomed addition here in La Jolla. Recommend

I'm really glad we have this in San Diego. However, the quality of the food is not the same as what they serve in LA. The braised pork belly was not as tender and was a bit too salty.... The pickled radish container was empty and the place a bit messy....

Perhaps this LA area import can stop the rotating carousel of primarily Korean eateries that have occupied this suite in the La Jolla Village Square. Tigawok recently debuted with its fast‑casual concept of "mini bowls" using robot‑powered woks in the kitchen. The food was mainly Americanized Chinese cuisine although not to the extent of the larger cafeteria style chains that are ubiquitous across the country. More floor space was dedicated to the hot item display area so that meant a reduction in the seating capacity to less than 30 diners. A menu banner was placed next to the entrance so those passing by could view what was offered. The signature mini bowls, of which there were 14 varieties, were each priced under $10 for 8 oz of product (unless you purchased 16 egg rolls). The build your own Tiga bowl could be made with two or three items included at $13.99 or $14.99 each. You pick one of four bases and then select entrees from the list of 16 that were displayed. Note that some bases and items incurred a surcharge because they were considered premium. I grabbed a cafeteria tray and then asked for a three item bowl consisting of chow mein as a base. There weren't enough noodles to fill a bowl so white rice was added to make it a split base. The entrees I chose were Hunan Spicy Beef, Orange Peel Chicken, and Tiga Wagyu Curry. The beef and curry each cost an additional $1.50. The beef entree had a mild level of spiciness while the curry had no heat but was flavorful. I don't think either were worth the extra cost though. The orange flavor on the chicken was detectable yet not overpowering. I can see the mini bowls as a draw for the nearby UCSD students or anyone who wants a small meal at a reasonable price. For the quality and price of my bowl, I rounded the rating of my TIgawok experience to a four star level.

I had Tiga wok before at their Burbunk and Irvine locations . Glad they have one now here in La jolla San diego . And today May 14 , 2026 is their first soft opening . This is a Chinese cuisine and ordering is like a Cafeteria style that serves in Small bowls , the samples of their food that you can order are all in small bowl lined up in the glass shelves for easy decision on what to get . They have so many selections you can choose from on their display . My son and i chose the following , chow mein ,braised pork belly , tiga mapo tofu , garlic eggplant & green beans and fried rice Everything we got was very tasty , the bowl looks small but the price is reasonable for the size , but it is just that the Braised pork belly had a lot of hard pieces in my bowl , and the ground pork on my Mapo tofu is way too salty , even mixing it well with the Tofu the saltiness of the ground pork is over powering . We dined in inside since there plenty of tables inside , but this is also a nice place for a grab and go and the food comes in a nice container . Staff are friendly , plenty of parking around . Hope they stick around for long coz we have seen this exact spot change so many times with different businesses .

Really excited to see Tigawok arrive in this space where several other Asian (mostly Korean) restaurants have come and gone. Soft opening today and I was officially Customer #1. As you probably know by now, TIgawok is noted for a couple things. First, their use of robot woks -- they're back in the kitchen doing their thing. Second, they offer "mini bowls" of Chinese food at very reasonable prices. I bought two mini bowls today: tiga mapo tofu (very tasty: $5.29) and sweet tomato and scrambled eggs (also very tasty: $4.99). There were a lot of other food options available -- everything from chow mein to eggplant to chicken and beef dishes -- and you can upgrade to a combo with rice or chow mein noodles for a total of less than $15. While I've been spoiled by Din Tai Fung, the food at Tigawok was good and filling, and the price was right. I finished just half of each of my mini bowls -- saving the leftovers for breakfast tomorrow. Oh. And be sure to check out the chili/garlic sauce in the containers by the front door -- excellent! I'll be back again and again, and continue to earn my status as Customer #1.
