Went for a event called soul therapy great event. The fries was good. The cucumber drink was absolutely amazing. Oh my gosh it was so delicious. I like the music. The DJ was great. The atmosphere was great. The host was great. Everything was great. I look forward to going again on Thursdays every Thursdays so therapy a tiger is absolutely amazing. The music is very grown-up. It's R&B, but it's grown-up.

Tiger is definitely more a Club than a Lounge. The vibes on the weekend are always poppin off so unless your vip or a regular the wait is kinda long. The shrimp plate was sooo good we love the friend rice and every time we come here we get the Lumpia fries!! Those lumpia are soo good especially when ur drunk and hungry from all that dancing. The drink prices are not too crazy the only thing is the DJs!!! There's usually 3 DJs a night and I swear they still play the same 4 songs for each set which gets old... plz playMORE hot girl music like Megan thee Stallion or Doja Cat and LESS Sexy Red and Ice spice it's old very quickly.

Tiger is a Sacramento staple as strange as this sounds. Tiger reminds me of old Sacramento downtown but with a modern twist. Tiger is for those, who like to dance, because this is definitely the spot to do that downtown. I would recommend coming here on a Thursday night. At 11pm on Thursdays, there is a local dance crew that comes through and has dance battle. There is a cover is you arrive after 10pm. Tiger is filled with instagram worthy backgrounds for cute photo-ops for everyone! The drinks cost about $12, which aren't too expensive. The menu drinks are good but I highly recommend that you defer to the bartenders. Their drinks are tailored to each person and I think bette than the other drinks.

Tiger!! 2nd time coming here, the first time was for a YEE event. Stopped in Wednesday night after going to the Kings game. I got to say this seems like a spot I would have loved in my 20's. Now... not really my place. It was pretty dead besides for a few random tables that had bottle service. I had the "Light the Beam" drink. It was good but a little too sugary for me. The service was great. It was really nice to know that the kitchen was still open after the game so you had the option to order food if you wanted to. It's a cute bar that was all decked out in Christmas lights. I think if you wanted to super drink or dance this would be the place.

Such a delayed review. Came here for Happy hour after coming for a dine downtown event and was pleasantly surprised. Being honest the food at my previous visit did not leave me a desire to return but I am glad I did. The vibe was there, the service was stellar and the food was really good. Our order: -Fried rice which was so good and well seasoned -Fried chicken also well seasoned and crispy -Half off bottle of wine YES PLEASE!! Definitely worth a try at their happy hour pricing

This place is a lot of things. I always see it as a nightclub with lovely young people having a great time, and a place I'd never go to. I went for their dinner and comedy show and I had a great time. I wasn't sure what the scene would be but the service was quick, it came with a welcome drink, and I loved the shrimp A LOT. I would definitely do the dinner and show again. I can't imagine I'll ever go to the nightclub, but I appreciate that they have a variety of events and try new things.

REDEMPTION It's not very often you find businesses willing to go above and beyond to right a previously wrong experience. Tiger was exceptional in hearing and validating my experience as a customer. That love if service will make a loyal and faithful customer, every time. Thank you for a lovely evening filled with great food, great music, and a fun atmosphere. I'm looking forward to returning.

Came for the three-course Dine Downtown Menu ($45/p) on Saturday, January 13th. I was able to snag a 7:15 PM reservation on the same day, woot! Upon arrival, the place wasn't very busy - mostly diners and regulars. I know this place pops off late-night on the weekends. Cool that little old Sac has some nightlife. I got seated in a half booth table. Opted to both sit on the booth side and look out at the downstairs area. There are huge concrete walls filled with graffiti, think I read somewhere that they left the walls as is after renovating the rest of the previous derelict building - neat. There is also a giant menu projected onto one of the main walls, although it is hard to make out the actual text. Ordered a few IPAs, wasn't blown away by the cocktail offerings. Service was attentive but the kitchen was behind and working out some kinks. The poor table next to use waited 30 mins btwn their first and second course. Clearly some communication breakdown, I felt bad for them. My first course was a significant wait but the next two course came back to back and it was smooth sailing. The kitchen hit it's groove. All of the courses were exceptional combinations for flavors and textures. First Course - Truffle Edamame - delicious, lots of umami from the mushroom dashi. The truffle didn't come through too strongly. The edamame filling was plentiful. Second Course - Surf & Turf - seared scallop, short-rib, oyster demi glace, dashi butternut squash puree, charred leeks. Side of tempura-style fried broccolini. Tender short rib and plump scallop. Both paired well with the squash, leek and broccolini. Portion didn't look big but it was a surprising amount of food. Third Course - Salted Egg Yolk Bread Pudding - this was a little too charred, still good though.

Following some competitive bowling at Capitol Bowl (please reference my review if interested), our group wanted to grab some adult beverages. After discussing a few options, we settled on Tiger Restaurant and Lounge. Prior to that day, I have been to Tiger as it was transitioning into it's nightclub vibe. Therefore, I was looking forward to experiencing the establishment during the late afternoon. Fortunately, our friends whom arrived first, were able to secure seating at the booths located at the entrance. A very enthusiastically server by the name of JK, greeted us and took our drink orders as he provided us with waters (he would continue to refill our waters throughout our visit). I highlight the fact that he provided us with waters because it seems like you have to pull teeth at some places to receive a glass of water. Of course, as most folks know (some learn the hard way), it's prudent to consume a sufficient amount of water while drinking alcoholic beverages (I promise you that I'm not intending to sound judgmental of those who do not). Throughout our time at Tiger I consumed two very delicious drinks. "The Beam"...a purple (Go Lakers!) Margarita with 50 Cent's Branson Cognac (GGGGUNIT!), and the "Mai Tiger"...both drinks were recommended by JK. We enjoyed the overall vibes at Tiger, especially the music selection that was at the perfect volume for you to groove to it while still being able to hear conversation. If you're looking for good vibes + drinks, I highly recommend Tiger Restaurant and Lounge!

We decided for our last night all together we would pick a highly rated one for a special meal. Magpie Cafe right in downtown fit the bill and we were thoroughly impressed by everything. We ordered just about every special plus many other dishes, some multiple, from appetizers through to desserts. It's in a beautiful area of the city, open to the street and green park. We opted to sit outside as it was a lovely evening. The beer menu had some regional favorites, all small and well chosen. For food we went all out, and I'll let the photos speak for themselves. Everything was so colorful and presented beautifully. Highlights were the pickles, fried asparagus, anchovies, and croquettes. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable about our dishes, she added to the experience. If you're in the area, this restaurant is worth a stop. They even have a cafe in the airport!

The drink contained gin, strawberry syrup, and fresh lemon basil. It was light and refreshing and the perfect spring summer drink. Then we had the baby eggplant which was marinated in a soy glaze. It also had some sort of peanut sauce base. This was a delightful bite. Both of us were very impressed. The presentation was gorgeous. Clearly still on my eggplant craze. One of the reasons we went to Magpie was for the trout dip. In a shocking turn of events, they didn't have it. I think it was an old menu. Maybe their winter menu. This was a bummer. Instead, they had a salmon dip. We got that, and I wish it was more flavorful/smokey. Normally, I'm not a smokey seasoning person, but I think it goes nicely with fish. The chips though were really good. I love a kettle chip. I thought they would be thicker, since the dip was thicker. I'm glad they served the dip with the spoon. We also had the stone fruit salad. I was shocked it didn't come with a cheese, but after I tasted it, the creamy yogurt successfully filled that void. Once again, the plating was gorgeous. I think the peaches were good, but I can tell that later in the summer, these peaches will be even more delectable. I think the pistachios were an excellent choice to this salad. For my main course, I had the painted hills flat iron steak with a Chimichurri sauce and crispy smashed potatoes. The steak was well cooked, and with the seasoning of the chimichurri, it was a delightful bite. Sam had the gnocchi with pesto and fresh tomatoes. The gnocchi was fluffy. Both she and I thought that the pesto was good, but we both wish that we wish there was more of it. I love pesto though, so I am always going to think that. It came in dollops, rather than mixed in, so I think that was part of the problem. We also had to get dessert. I had the ice cream sandwiches. They were made with lemon thyme shortbread cookies with vanilla Guenther's Ice Cream. I wish it was a stronger vanilla taste or a flavored ice cream. The cookies were too good though. Sam had the lavender panna cotta. Normally I am not a huge panna cotta fan, but this one was delicious. It had such a strong lavender taste, in a good way. It kind of tasted like I was eating lotion because of the thickness of the panna cotta with the lavender flavor.

Our waitress was fantastic and gave a great tour of the menu as well as the dishes we ended up ordering. The food here is fantastic. So too are the drinks. Drink wise, I went for a tequila/mezcal based cocktail and it did not disappoint. The balance was impeccable. Later on in the meal, I had a nice glass of red wine which complimented the steak well. The food was the star of the show. Bone Marrow is one of those dishes you don't expect to be quite so rich, but it is amazing and worth the visit for. The fish was cooked perfectly and the mushrooms on the steak were delightful and earthy, as well as the steak being a tender, juicy medium rare. I will say the lobster paella was a little disappointing, I expected a little bit more from a nearly $100 dish. Not that it wasn't delicious, but it did not stand out nearly as much as the other dishes ordered. The tartar was a solid app, the oysters were delectable, the bread was toasty and hot with a generous side portion of creamy butter. By my book, service, ambiance, and FLAVOR, Ella is worth the visit.

I wanted to love this place but the plant-based options were limited to bar snacks: cauliflower bites, fries, hummus, a single salad, and mac and cheese. What's frustrating isn't just the selection, but the missed potential. Not one veggie sandwich option. The stuffed peppers could easily have a meatless version; the Brussels sprouts didn't need bacon; the farmers market salad could offer prosciutto as an add-on rather than a default. Small tweaks, big difference. A little more intentionality here would go a long way. On the bright side, the bourbon flights are a real highlight, and the space itself is a win - open, airy, and flooded with natural light, making it perfect for happy hour. The gastro pub vibe is genuinely cool, and you can tell this place has a lot of potential. Meat eaters and whiskey fans will love it here. Vegetarians, though, will find themselves grazing on sides and calling it a meal.
