Finally, Tigon brings true Vietnamese cuisine with a family heart. All the food was on point. We went for lunch and it was very spacious and fun, lots of ambiance. We were greeted by a young man and he brought along his niece who melted our hearts with her smile. Our waiter brought us a delicious veggie soup, it was so good, even my foodie friends where excited! We ordered a mix of food and lucky to invite our Vietnamese friend make suggestions, we had: Ban Xeo the Deluxe and it was so good, never had calamari and egg in it and it was crispy and full of fresh veggies. We ordered the Seafood/tomato and pork soup with rice noodles, another treat and all full of flavor. Greens were very fresh and clean, nothing was old, they even provided little bird chilis! Catfish clay pot was so good, who cares to go to SF for Slanted Door! And we had the Vietnamese Beef Carpaccio and it was dressed with so many toppings, crunchy garlic, herbs, nuts and so fresh. Well-appointed venue with a family feel. We had the vermicelli, the papaya salad, beef pho, and the eggplant. I especially loved the pho. The servers were really attentive but I wasn't sure they understood that I can't eat soy sauce when I told them I have a wheat allergy and the eggplant seemed to have soy sauce. My favorite thing here is the Steamed Fine Vermicelli Patties. They make it the best here. It's a roll your own Vietnamese burrito. I also like the Tigon Special Ribs. It has a crispyness to it. Delicious Vietnamese crepes. We had the veggie (tofu & mushroom) and our friends had seafood and chicken - we enjoyed them equally especially w the sauce. Bun rice vermicelli with chicken and pork was tender and tasty and came with lots of lettuce, herbs, and shredded cucumber, carrot, and jicama. Garlic noodles were good but not quite Than Long good. Great turnaround of this corner Vietnamese spot under new management. We went to the previous restaurant at this location and were underwhelmed, but we've gone to Tigon 3 times in three weeks. I had the Vermicelli special which comes with an array of food including appetizers like egg rolls along with beef pork and shrimp. Great option if you want a bunch of different flavors. The second time I got the Tigon special ribs with the fish sauce and sesame seeds. Awesome flavors on that one, the texture of the rib is a bit like Mexican chicharron with the meat still attached, with sweet and savory fish sauce glaze and the grounding nutty taste of the sesame seeds rounding out a rib unlike any you're used too. Finally today I had the crab fried rice. Beautiful sweet and fragrant crab flavor permeates every bite, along with sizable chunks of real crab. I put away an entire serving as an entree and would again. All around stellar execution, it's easy to go too light or too heavy on the oceanic flavor of the crab, here it was balanced perfectly with the spices and veggies. My wife had the pho ga and enjoyed it. I think this spot just toppled Pho Le AND Huong Tra as our favorite Vietnamese spot, which is great because it's closer than either to us. Exceptionally friendly and attentive service. Love to see a family operation invested in customer care. Planning on trying the pork banh mi, which will certainly be soon. read more

Super yummy and fresh! My husband and I went for a late lunch last weekend. We started off with the fried shrimp rolls. It's not often I can choose a deep fried menu item because I eat gluten free. These are made with rice paper and turn out super crispy. The shrimp filling was well seasoned and generous. The dipping sauce was sweet and tangy. I didn't have any digestive issues eating this dish and I will order it again. My husband ate the stir fried eggplant with tofu. He said the eggplant was tender and the sauce was "sweet and plum-y". I ate mushrooms with chicken in a coconut curry. The chicken was portioned really well, plenty of veggies and the sauce was good. I like my curry on the spicy side and this one was very mild. Next time I'll ask for some heat in the curry. Service was very attentive. The atmosphere is nice and welcoming. We'll be back! read more

Went to celebrate our mom's birthday on a Sunday because she is unavailable due to work on the weekdays and her birthday was on the following Monday. We asked the people in the front discreetly to see if they did anything for birthday. They said that they could only do it to if they saw and confirmed her ID. Okay that's fine. She shows her ID and the lady ("owner"?) said that they can't do anything because it's "not her birthday" when it was literally the next day. Waste of a time to celebrate her at this restaurant. I usually always order to go but today I decided to stop on my way home. I had a great experience. I ordered a plate of spring rolls and a bowl of pho. The spring rolls were filling and the portion was big. This plate was served with peanut sauce and extra lettuce. The pho was the star, big portion, lots of veggies, nice and hot, additional toppings included on the side. I ate for about 45min and the staff here was attentive throughout my meal. I was served napkins and (lemon)water on call and never felt like they hovered. I came during off peak hours so it wasn't busy. Overall, good service, friendly staff, tasty food. Really high reviews from Yelp and Google (4.5+) - seemed like a no-brainer to check this place out for some Vietnamese food one night. But man ... the place was not good. The 'Tigon Lettuce Wraps' were super odd - dried shrimp, diced lime (including pith and peel!), some funky hoison sauce ... every bite just was so bitter from the lime and unsatisfying/disconnected tasting. The second dish was stir-fried rice noodles with Chicken - but what came out was a super bland. The chicken and rice noodles had no browing - the sauced was a thickened/MSG mixture, and the veggies were frozen cut pieces of Cauliflower, Celery, and Carrots --- sprinkled with black pepper. Nothing wrong with greasy-spoon Chinese, but this fell short of even that mark --- I thought we came out for Vietnamese dishes? Where's the basil? This is a beautiful and comfortable spot, with tropical plants, carved wood and high, raftered ceiling. The food is very good and feels home cooked. Everything was very fresh and came quickly. I asked for and received Vietnamese coffee with half the amount of condensed milk. Delicious, strong, less sweet! I had the green mussels and vegetarian fresh rolls as appetizers. Both were excellent. The mussels were cooked just enough--cooked through but still very tender; no rubbery edges. Six big, meaty mussels with peanuts and green onions on top. Very balanced flavors. Yum! The fresh rolls were bursting with green veggies and herbs. I could definitely taste the mint and basil, and the lettuce and bean sprouts were *very* fresh and crunchy. The peanut sauce was dark and rich, not too sweet, very authentic and delicious. My main course was the braised hot pot catfish, which was also excellent. The rice noodles were pretty stuck together but worked with the catfish. The fish was perfectly braised--tender, full of flavor, but not falling apart. I've had this dish elsewhere, but I don't recall being able to enjoy both the flesh and the skin, and appreciate their differences in taste and texture, in a long time. The sauce was savory and a little sweet. It complemented the fish, and provided a homey quality to the dish, without overwhelming the catfish. I also appreciated the young girl, I assume daughter of the family, who brought me my plate, waited until I tasted the fresh rolls, and asked me with great seriousness how I liked them. Little things matter and can make a difference in reviews. I can see why some people like it....some portions are generous--see the pho and the lemongrass pork. The price is reasonable: $2.50 for a bowl of rice for one, $5 for a pot of tea, and the above dishes come in at ~$16 each. I ordered the braised shrimp in coconut sauce (see photo),"which was just shrimp and sauce. Sauce would be tasty, except there was waaaaay too much fish sauce in it so ruin the sauce on rice. It took some time for us to order--about 20+ min., as there was a non-English speaking waiter and 1 English speaking waiter a little before noon on Sun. The party of 14 that was seated at the other end of the dining room had no issues--they spoke Vietnamese? It s÷ms authentic from the knumber of Asians that were dining there when we finally left. There also a fair number of takeout orders. The venue is the same as the previous restaurant--so cavernous that it was cold and not noisy at all, given the hard tile floors and bare walls. Seating was on hard wooden benches--definitely not a place to lounge and enjoy drinks and meal! The food, according to my family was ok, better than some. One of my favorite dishes were the catfish. Everything we ate tasted very delicious, the only feedback I would give is that the portions are really small. When we ordered the caramelized spare ribs i thought they would be much bigger than they were. We had to order extra food because it wasn't enough. Even adding extra veggies would have increased the volume of the food to make it look much bigger. The flavor is really good, but make sure to order a bit extra. Tigon occupies the space that was Nong Thon. Nothing was changed to the spacious and south-east plantation look interior. The food was a big improvement, however. We tried several Vietnamnese basics like pho, shaking beef (bo luc lac), garlic noodles with shrimp and the special combination rice plate that has egg roll, fried bean curd with shrimp, grille chicken, beef, grilled shrimp . Every dish was well executed. The pho broth was aromatic and the meats fresh. The shaking beef was tender and great with the lemon pepper and salt dipping sauce. The garlic noodle was sufficiently garlicky, and I really liked the special combination rice plate that has all the various items, and all the meats were well marinated. The plate was impressive in its size and so I thought the price was very reasonable given the generous portion and quality. We will come back to try other dishes on the menu. read more

Got the Special Rice Plate because it came with so many things to try: grilled shrimp, tender beef shavings, coconut chicken, crispy fish cakes, plump fried rolls, soup, green salad and a big mound of rice.
