We are vegetarian so TJF USED to be a great option. HOWEVER... The idiots in the kitchen can't seem to follow the simplest order... More than once we have ordered nachos... Cheese, lettuce, black beans... However, they apparently don't think we know what we want because they continue to add things... LIKE CHICKEN! We even checked the order tonight and it looked fine. However... When we got home we discovered a layer of checked under the layer of lettuce! Another $30 down the drain... You complain they give you a voucher but if 85% of the time the order is wrong, vouchers are worthless. read more

We had just moved into our apartment. We were tired and hungry. The three of us ordered two chimichangas and a quesadilla. No drinks, no extras. I paid $38.51 and based on that amount, I expected a decent meal... at least a decently SIZED meal. Nope. What came to us barely filled the bottom of our black styrofoam to-go containers. Actually... it DIDN'T fill the bottom. Our chimichangas took up the space in the center like an island swimming in a puddle of orange queso and two handfuls of chips were thrown in as filler. My husband's quesadilla was 4 pieces of cheese and flour tortilla with a sparse smattering of steak pieces. Oh, and when they say "do you want those to come with everything", they really just mean a tub of shaved iceburg lettuce, maybe a tablespoon of onion, a couple dots of red that must be tomato, and two or three slices of jalapeño. But really mostly iceberg lettuce. Lamest meal I've had in a while and a huge disappointment after a long day of moving. I was still quite hungry after and am going to bed that way. I seriously like the food and the service but whoever decides on the sauces needs to learn about Mexican Food and salsa. They did finally come up with a spicy roasted type sauce that I thought was finally close until I saw the 99 cents on the receipt for2-3 tablespoons of sauce. The taco meat is skimpy compared to other locations but the new cheesy crunchy Burrito was a keeper. read more

Ordered a beef queso crunchy burrito which is huge, actually makes two meals for me and the sweet tea is always fresh, I'm very picky about fresh tea. Staff is very friendly, polite and did a great job refilling drink & making sure everything was good. Clean restuarant, do a good job with all the Covid requirements, tables have sanitized cards on them so no guessing which ones to use. Feel very comfortable dining in. Stopped in for a late dinner on a Thursday and lucked out with it being burrito day! Dinner for three was under $20 and came with chips and a drink! My two companions got burritos and I got a burrito bowl. Ordering was a little bit of a process, as I think the kid may have been new. That was really the only hiccup. The hot sauce station was impressive and the names were funny. Our food was brought out to us by a friendly girl. After getting our food we were checked on no less than three times. Talk about customer service. I'm from out of town and found this place by using Yelp and wasn't let down. read more

Eating there not as an employee is pretty good I solely recommend cheesesteak flautas because they are the bomb when you are super hungry. An added plus is that I'm an employee I get 50% off so if you want that please be sure to put an application in because we need the help. This is not the first time that I have had issues with the service. These girls that work there act like youre doing them a favor. They certainly lack customer service and have mean girl streaks. This time however takes the cake and needs to be reported. I ordered on my phone app as I always do. I came to pick up order the time it suggested on the app to pick up my order. But it was not at the pick up place so I sat down and waited, and waited, and waited. Mind you the restaurant was not busy. I then go to the pick up counter only to see the two young girls gossiping and drinking their beverages. Not preparing my odrer that's been sitting there for gods knows how long. When I ask where is my order I get an.. I'm working on it. Then she comes over to hand me my order...with an attitude after 10 mins. Like i was disturbing her. I then ask her where are my drinks I ordered. She shakes her head no. (what does that mean I think) I said I ordered drinks where are they. Again she shakes her head no. I am supose to get drinks. Isay to her. and then she ask did you order online? I tell her yes on my app and then ask what were my drinks. I rolled my eyes because at this point I was frustrated at her attitude. No customer service at all. Let me tell you when i got home I don't know what she put in the cups but they were something nasty and not what I ordered. You have no idea I know she did this on purpose...it was pure malicious. Now mind you this is not the first time that I have seen them do this to other customers. It is always the same two. It's to a point that I do not feel like patronizing this establishment any longer. I'm fed up and can only imagine what they may be doing to my food. And talking about my food. This was my first time at this location and my first time at any Tijuana Flats location. I went with a friend who has been to a Tijuana Flats before but not this specific location so I sort of knew what to expect. We went around 7pm and were able to walk right up, place our order and find seating without incident which was nice. The girl who took our order was friendly and helpful. The girl who brought us our food was also very friendly and polite. The hot sauce bar was clean, abundant and a fun addition to the meal. I had the steak enchiladas with salsa verde and it was delicious. My friend had the crunchy tacos and they looked really good too. We split some salsa with our chips. The staff checked on us several times, were friendly each time, and my experience overall was excellent. Reasonably priced, great food, great service, and I will definitely add this to my list of places to come back to. read more

A couple of these locations went out of business in the Carolinas so I was excited to see them in Florida. This specific location may be the next to go out of business if they don't step up there game. I ordered a blackened chicken taco salad & they gave me regular grilled chicken. To make things worse, they literally gave me a small condiment cup of chicken which contained about 7 pieces of chicken the size of a dime or smaller. Some of the lettuce was frozen & they literally gave me broken up chips (approximately 8 broken pieces) on the side. I called & asked to speak to a manager & was put on hold for over 5 minutes before I hung up. read more

I ordered online for the first time and someone picked it up for me. I guess the advice is to check the order. It seems they left the chips out (I believe they add chips to orders like a Norito Bowl now--at least they did when I ate in the restaurant last week). Ironically, the receipt says checked by Jaz (I think) so either I am wrong that they include chips or something was missed. On an update to a prior review, I still see this location is slow to fill drinks. It just seems they do not have enough people around the tables. Maybe that is a change with more people dealing with online and Uber orders. There are lots of people working but they do not seem to think to scan the dining room very often. So far, the Countryside, Tyrone and Oldsmar location still far exceed this location. read more

This place is fantastic. My wife and I were in Florida last week visiting her grandma and going to the beach. And we decided to have a little bit of Mexican foods or we all went to Tijuana Flats. It is like a fast food establishment almost because you go through have a drive-thru and you can go up to the counter and order but they bring it to you certain not really a waiter or waitress but I do bring you your food and they will occasionally fill up your drinks if they see it but a lot of the times you walk up to the cash register and ask them for another refill which can get a little annoying but that's okay. Because the food absolutely makes up for it. I got a giant burrito and it had rice and beans and cheese and sour cream and all that good fattening stuff in it. It comes with a little thing of chips on the side scoop up the stuff that falls out which is a plus. My daughter got two tacos she ate one took one home I ate it later that night and my wife got these little fried chimichanga things which were fantastic as well I think overall for the four of us to eat and drinks it was around $32 which is not that bad really at all. I wish we had one in Louisville because I would love to go to it. I would highly recommend and we will be back the next time we are in Florida. read more

This is the best Tex-Mex around! Went in for lunch today while Juliana, Joey and Wayne (manager) were working. The service and the food were outstanding! My food came out in less than three minutes and was PERFECT. I've been there several times and each time is the same: a very clean restaurant, fast and friendly service, awesome food and Juliana even opens the door for you when you get there and when you leave! Food is solid, but there are improvements to be made. Very happy with their COVID precautions, but wish they would apply the same amount of effort, if not more, to their cleanliness and customer service. The table I ate at was dirty, floors were dirty, and I had to ask for a fork along with the queso they didn't bring. And if you were a hormonal teenage boy or creepy old guy, you would be pleased to see the employees wear the shortest shorts with butt cheeks hanging out....it actually made me feel uncomfortable.
