Chicken, steak and ground beef. The ground beef and steak were ok, not hot but warm to the point of cold. The chicken had maybe 4 small pieces of chicken and we had ordered it with no onions. Well we got onions!!! Not sure how the order taker misses that when she repeats the order back. We also ordered nachos with extra cheese basically the cheese was kinda melted , the chips were cold. I'd love to say they are trying but I'd be fooling myself. They only had us and one other couple in the place. I can't imagine they will last much longer with all the options in Oviedo. I'd think twice before going, even Taco Bell would have been a better option tonight and cheaper too. read more

Every time I order from this place they make a mistake. This time I placed an order on New Years, surprised no one inside but other cars did drive up for pick ups. Actually happy thinking they might get my order correct this time. Get home to find just chicken and refried beans in both chimichangas. Nothing else, I mean naked, bad enough to forget at least the tomatoes or sour cream but no cheese too. Just plain, tasteless and very dry. I had to take a drink with every bite. Been a while since I ordered from here and thought it would be nice to try it out again. So disappointed. Ordered two chimichangas and two taco kids meals. Nothing was right. The food was incorrect and the three of the meals had hot spices in it and in kids meals too which we did not ask for plus asked for chicken, got beef, asked for refried beans had none, no sour cream, etc. Could not even get the sweet teas right, we ended up with non sweet teas. Worst is making the order online for pick up, given a time to pick up, waited way past that time and they were not even crowded, even the parking lot was empty. Honestly think they didn't even start the or till we were there waiting for awhile. Not sure I will come back again until the reviews get better. It used to be great. read more

I used to love this place I've been going there since the day it's been built but I just walked out of there because they wouldn't take my cash money. I gave her a $50 bill and she said she could not break a $50 bill she couldn't take nothing over $20 - there's no posted signs there is nothing stating that they don't take any form of bills is it's totally incredible you can pay cash and the good old USA anymore. I genuinely enjoy coming to this Tijuana Flats. Not only is it conveniently located on Lockwood Boulevard in Oviedo, FL, but one of the managers here, Ashlea, is big on the service excellence game. I am always welcomed here, my table is always clean, I can always get a quick soda refill (and, thank the Lord, they have Cherry Coke on TAP here!). TF is pretty straightforward with the menu here (tacos, flautas, etc.) but that the service is pleasantly consistent speaks volumes. Usually, I just stop in for the Tijuana Trio - delicious chips served with queso, salsa, and guacamole - but after spotting the "Secret Menu" I decided to go for the Chiminitas today. Best. Idea. Ever. Lightly fried tortillas with your choice of protein and "wet with queso." Tuck in, my friends. Big shout-out to a great team slinging mouthwatering Mexican! read more

Tijuana Flats is always good food. The Oviedo location is no exception. I am especially a fan of the Chimichanga. This particular location does not quite have pandemic dining figured out. They won't take credit card order over the phone, they make you use the website - which is a hassle if you are driving and trying to place your order while out and about. The parking lot is a tight place and no designated curbside spots. I called them when I arrived and had a really difficult time getting through to them. It was a weekend, so I expect it to be a bit busier, but it took quite a few redials to event get them on the phone to let them know I was there......they. Don;t have anything in place to accept the volumes that they are getting. Nonetheless, same Tijuana food that I enjoy .... just could use some service help. read more

The tortillas came undercooked with very few steak and not to mention we paid $13 for this!! Quesadilla meal looks like a 6 year old made it. VERY disappointed!! Wow what a shame! Please read before you waste your money here! I picked up a pick up order at 9:30pm arrived back home at 10pm opened my order and took a bite out of the "atom bombs" they're filled with cream cheese and jalapeños and I almost threw up, they were rotten! They tasted like alcohol they were that rotten. I spit it out, completely inedible! I then ordered chips and queso the cheese was brown and jello-y and smelled bad as well I did not eat it obviously. Next I order 2 orders of flauta's 1 just cheese the 2nd "grilled chicken" I opened them and they were both shredded chicken, my husband and I hate shredded chicken so another thing inedible! I ended up throwing $30 away in the trash. I called around 10:10pm and no one answered the phone and I knew what that meant, I'm screwed! I called first thing in the morning since they were closed by the time I opened and tasted my horrible food. A lady answered the phones and said "hello we don't take take out orders over the phone, bye" I said "I need to talk to the manager" she said "please come in another day to make a complaint" I said "no I need to speak with him right now it's important" she said "fine" the manger got on the phone incredibly careless as ever! I explained to him what happened and he made all the excuses in the book up! "It was the end of the night, we never receive orders like that, there's nothing we can do" I said "can I have a refund for this horrible experience because I will not be back" he said "nope that was last night I can't pull up the log sheet this morning" I said "you were closed when I called!!" Tijuana Flats is pretty much my go-to Mexican place when I'm looking for something quick. Virtually all the dishes can be made vegetarian/vegan and for those omnis looking to lose weight, they offer reduced fat cheese and sour cream. Their chimichangas are insanely delicious, but I find myself ordering and re-ordering their black bean flautas (which comes with sour cream, queso, AND guac), and their black bean burrito bowl. My favorite thing is probably the hot sauce bar. While all the sauces are pretty yummy, the original "Smack My Ass and Call Me Sally" habanero remains my favorite. They offer different food events throughout the week (Taco Tuesdays, kids eat free, etc.), so you can get a deal too. Back in the day before the Hunger Streets and Black Roosters came along, this place was my go to for fresh and tasty tacos, especially their Taco Tuesday two tacos and a drink for $5 special. But times change and new favorites are discovered, and it seemed to lose a little quality over the years. So the visits became less and less frequent. I was listening to the radio the other day and heard a spot with Jim Colbert pitching their new line of shrimp dishes. He made everything sound great, so I wanted to give them a try again. These Shrimp and Corn Tacos have fried shrimp, avocado sauce, corn salsa, cilantro cabbage, garlic lime sauce, quesa fresco, and pickled red onions. I thought they were delicious, just great flavor! I was definitely pleasantly surprised. I have always loved their chips and queso, so I grabbed that to snack on later when the game is on. I will definitely get these again! The minute I walk in TJ Flats, I feel like I am on an Austin Powers movie set with these color swirl murals! Everything on the menu is really awesome... I have had tacos, enchiladas, flautas, burritos, etc...... Though my recommendation would be the GRILLED (Special order) chicken flautas which is a Mexican dish consisting of a small rolled-up tortilla filled with chicken, lettuce, tomato, onion and all the good stuff. End your blissful dinner with some sweet churros then you will just be on Cloud Flathead... If you dare, try their spiciest sauce, endorphin rush or the suicide version and see if you lived to tell us about it.... I chose to stay safe and went with habanero sauce. Gave this location one more chance. Waited to place order while several employees chit chatted and looked at their phones. Ordered a trio and two meals. Meals came and we asked about the trio. No apology. Drinks sat without refills. Previous visit was "to go". They read our order off when handing me the bag. Got home and half was not there. You get 2 big well stuffed tacos ,chips and a Drink for less than 6.50 They have a Hot Sauce Bar with a variety of Sauces ! I chose the jalapeño and and the siracha sauces both were great and the employees are on top of everything from making sure your food is on point , to getting you a refill on your drink ! If I could give 0.1 stars I would. This location is painfully slow when you order online or via phone. Every time I order from the Lockwood Blvd location in Oviedo, I wind up waiting 20-30 minutes after my promised time (when I show up). I am writing this while waiting for an order promised and a couple walked in and placed their order at the counter before I got my order. This is location is very poor in speed. Great experience when we eat there, but not when we order "to go". When eating there, they give you so many chips, we take them home. But, for a take out order with tacos and two dips, we got 12 chips. When I asked for more chips, I had to buy them. Crazy. Also, I was unable to order the trio, but had to order each of the three dips separately. Would not recommend take out from here. read more

Staff was patient with us as we took quite awhile to figure out what to eat. I had the Baja fish Street taco and a banging chicken Street taco. Both were good. The atmosphere was excellent.The restaurant was lowly lit creating a relaxing vibe and the decor was awesome! I forgot to take pictures so I will have to go back and take some. We were given complimentary chips and had a blast experimenting with their diverse hot sauce station. My favorite was the buffalo but there is a sweeter hot sauce that was like a treat. If I could give 0 starts I would! Management on PM SHIFT on 8/24/22 around 6:30pm was very rude to guests and I during our visit. The managers name janae as what one of the employees told us. The manager then came to our table and accused us of calling the store and was very rude about it. She was yelling at us. She is very unprofessional and seems to have an anger issue. The lady they who took our order named Sofia was also rude once the manager started talking badly about my kids, friend and I. I will never come back to this location. I LOVE me some TFlats! It's funny to me how people say Moe's is better than TFlats because I really just don't get it. I have never had a bad experience at Tijuana Flats. I usually go for the chicken and black bean burrito - always a solid choice for me. And I usually can't pass up having it wet with queso - sooooo good! I recently tried their Flautas and was impressed as well. The chips are so flavorful too! I love the atmosphere at TFlats - it's colorful, lively, and full of helpful employees. They always greet me when I come in, offer me a menu, great with drink refills -- very attentive. And if you're ever in the mood for sweets, please please please try their cookie dough flautas! One of the best parts about living in the Orlando area is being able to claim fame to the Tijuana Flats restaurant chain being founded here by a UCF student. Since its first restaurant opened in Winter Park over 10 years ago, the chain has grown by leaps and bounds across Florida and the Southeast. TF's has two locations in Oviedo; this review is for the original restaurant located off of Lockwood and Mitchell Hammock. Just to be clear, this is not a high-end Mexican restaurant, but at roughly 8 dollars for a meal and drink, it is the best quality food you can get for the price. Sure you could go to Taco Bell and get 18 dog meat tacos for 2 bucks, but we are taking quality here, not quantity. The Oviedo location offers both indoor and outdoor seating, but they could use some additional booths because the place fills up fast in the evening on the weekends. You walk-in, pick-up your menu, proceed to the counter and place your order. TIP: TF's is running a special right now until November 22nd. Two tacos, chips and a soda for $4.99 (before tax), that's about a 3 dollar savings! Once you place your order you can proceed over to the "Hot Bar", the signature design element of any TF's. The Hot Bar offers a selection of various TF-produced sauces rated in heat levels ranging from smiley face (mild) to death face (en fuego). One knock I have on the Oviedo location is that they rarely change the sauces. They have been the same for the last 3 years, but that doesn't impact me since I always go with the "Slap My Ass & Call Me Sally Habanero" sauce. My order of Dos Tacos has always been good, but I have ventured into the burritos as well and they are also delicious. The ingredients are fresh, or as fresh as a sit-down restaurant can get. You have the option to go with "Power Lite" sour cream on your tacos if you are looking to watch your weight. The tortilla chips served with the meal are ultra tasty and I will spill the beans right now on why they taste so good. They use French Fry seasonings on the chips! That's it, nothing special, but that mixture of pepper and salt on the chips makes all the difference in the world. The only other knock I have on this specific location is the wait staff. I have been to a number of different TF's throughout Central Florida, and this wait staff is the most lifeless, uninterested group I have come across. Normally the staff is fun, outgoing, smiling; this group just seems to be a bunch of time card punching minimum wage workers. However, the worst part is the wait staff habitually takes your tray away from you without asking if you are done. WHAT! It has happened to me multiple times, only at this location, and it happened again this past weekend. I had finished my tacos and was working my way through my chips, I turned to look at the TV for a few seconds, and then reached down to grab another chip and my hand just hit the top of the table. I started looking around thinking maybe aliens had abducted my tray for scientific experiments, but no, the waitress had it in hand and was taking it away to trash the rest of my chips. Maybe this was a sign? Maybe she noticed the "muffin top" around my waist was getting a little bit bigger and she was saving me from myself. Maybe she was starting a collection of leftover chips to give to less fortunate children at the end of her shift. Maybe she thought I had a wheat allergy (although I pounded those two wheat shell tacos as if the ship was sinking). I saw the same thing happen to another table near us that night, and the woman looked at me and mouthed the words "what just happened?" I guess it might be their way of encouraging people to get out of the restaurant, but please take the time to ask if I am done first. All-in-all, TF's is a treat of a restaurant rolled up in a soft tortilla shell and topped with hot sauce. Whenever we have friends from out of the area come for a visit we usually stop by TF's for lunch just to let them try it out. They all leave with the same question, "when are we going to get one of these up north?" Just a couple of tweaks needed at the Oviedo location, but TF's is a must if you are looking for good quality, affordable Mexican food. read more

We ordered curbside pick up tonight. My wife waited 10 minutes in the parking lot and tried calling multiple times to let them know she was there. There was no customers inside dining or in the parking lot waiting on food. When she finally got the food home. All the food was cold. The cheese in the burritos didn't even melt. Tortillas cold, meat cold, beans cold. The amount of salt in the ground beef made one of the burritos inedible. Hands down the worst dining experience. Not sure what to say at this point...Not the first issue at this location. I placed a to go order and waited. Other customers came in after, placed their order and were served shortly after. After the third person left with their order, I went to the counter to find out what happened to my order. It had been sitting at the back counter for some time, the staff called every order by name with the exception of mine. (When I finally got home to eat, you can imagine the condition - soggy and luke-warm at best). The entire time, a manager was at the counter doing paperwork. He was aware I was waiting, even turned to several employees in the area and said something, they looked at me, and then turned away. The manager continued to sort papers. The woman read the order back to verify information and returned an unsympathetic apology. The manager did not acknowledge the situation or offer an apology, he looked back at the papers on the counter. Here is hoping this gets used as a learning experience to help improve other customer experiences. It's too bad this particular manager doesn't seem to value his customers or their experience in this restaurant. Overall there are plenty of good places to eat in Oviedo, from the new Mission BBQ to TJ's Seafood Shack. Always good food and a good crew.
