Seating was really quick and friendly, not too loud which makes it easier to have a conversation and enjoy the space, our server Manuel was very educate - friendly and professional, he informed us about their drink specials which included a tequila shot so def we choose to go with that!! Chips and sauce was so delicious, crunchy and tasty.. we start with so classic guacamole which they prepare in front of you and even make you taste it to check if you need anything extra or not which it's perfect based on your taste!! Then we got the melted burger with fries ( SUPER DELICIOUS ) / Hawaiian fajitas ( this is a MUST what a nice flavor it have and the presentation it's PERFECT ) / Birria tacos ( 100000 of 10, not fatty at all, hot as hell which makes it perfect because i HATE A COLD TACO ) & my cousin which is vegan she ordered vegan fajitas which i was in shock about the flavor and the multiple options they have which open the doors for different type of people or diets making easier to enjoy a reunion with friends and family!! Pepe's Cantina is in a small shopping plaza and offers both indoor and outdoor seating. The service was friendly enough and added to mu overall experience. Everything we had was amazing! We ordered jalapeño poppers, the chicharrones, and we both ordered bowls. We've been looking for a new spot that feels like comfort food (to me anyway lol). Everything was so delicious and I was surprised to see how cute it is inside! (There's even a selfie spot by the bathrooms). We felt very comfortable and I can totally see myself becoming a regular. Next time I want to make it to their Sunday brunch and enjoy sitting outside. There's plenty of options for everyone including a few new items like fettuccine and a sweet and sour style chicken in the tapas. There's also vegetarian options as well and impossible meat. Phenomenal! One of the best Mexican restaurants I've been to in a while! I honestly am not a big fan of Mexican food but this one really hit the spot and I am looking forward to going back. My mouth is watering just writing about it. First time in this restaurant and it was the vibe was lively! The music and the surroundings it truly felt like you belonged. The staff were all very nice and very attentive to your needs. Excellent service! Sadly I forgot the name of our waiter. But he did a great job like I said. The food came out pretty quick which was a plus! And like I mentioned absolutely delicious! Every bite of spanish foods were exactly what was calling to me that day. Delicious drinks. Special on fridays where you get a free tequila shot with the purchase of a paleta-rita. The mint popsicle made in house is delicious, refreshing, and interactive. The spicy pineapple margarita with mezcal is my favorite. Ask for a tajin rim it compliments it wonderfully. Never seen the place full and thats surprising because the food is delicious. The enchiladas are great, i would recommend the shredded chicken over the grilled chicken, it has better flavor. The mexican plantains and chicharron are a delicious appetizer. I had dinner and drinks with a group of friends on a Monday evening. We were a little taken aback by how empty the restaurant was. We thought it was a bad sign, but we were mistaken. Our server was super hospitable with wonderful recommendations. I was impressed that they had a vegan section of the menu and a note that vegan dishes are prepped separately from non vegan dishes. That's a rarity! I ordered the vegan fajitas that came with plant based chicken and beef and was served in a pineapple bowl. I felt like the pineapple added a slightly sweet taste and the aroma made the fajitas really shine. There are many cocktail options and a variety of beers. I ordered a few guava margaritas and they were divine. My friends also loved their meals. A side item that stood out were the yuca fries. I could have eaten a platter of them. We shared a small order of flan and it was also fantastic. It is a little on the pricey side for Mexican cuisine, but it was well worth the cost. I will be back for sure! read more

My parents have told me how much they love this place for months but this past Sunday brunch was the first time I've been. I will definitely be back! The brunch menu all sounded delicious so I decided on the breakfast bowl and ordered an additional side of the French toast so I could try it. Everything was amazing! They have an all you can drink special on Sundays for $19.99 with a purchase of a meal and you can choose between mimosas and sangria. I love having an option or being able to change it up! I was home one night watching TV and movies and such, and I wanted some Mexican food. I saw that a Pepe's Cantina had just opened up right down the street. It was there, it was new, it was convenient, it just kind of happened. We got some Uber Eats, and awaited the arrival. We like to get a little of everything from places, so we started off with the Pepe's Sampler (Shredded chicken quesadilla, jalapeno cheese poppers, shredded chicken flautas, bean nachos, queso dip, lettuce, pico de gallo, and sour cream). This was great! Everything you could want from apps from a place like this. Cheesiness, a little heat, crispy flautas, nachos, and plenty of dipping options. Perfection, I would say. We split a couple of mains, as well. I'll start with the Angus Beef Steak, Chicken, & Shrimp Fajitas (Served with Mexican rice, refried beans, lettuce, sour cream, guacamole, and pico de gallo). This was also great! Tons of meat, way more meat that I was expecting. And it was well-cooked and well-seasoned. The sides part of it was a little suspect. Tiny scoops of beans and rice, seasoning was a little lacking. I'm sure you get less when you get takeout. These containers are so small. And the tortillas were definitely mass produced and hum drum. Not to be mean. The final thing we tried was one of the XXL Burritos (All burritos stuffed with Mexican rice, refried beans, lettuce, sour cream, guacamole, shredded cheese, and pico de gallo. Topped with queso, roja sauce, and cilantro). I don't remember the meat that was within. Probably carnitas or something. But it was also also great. I have certain expectations when I order a giant burrito from a place like this, and this one met all my expectations. It was XXL, it was packed full of toppings, and best of all, it was drenched in sauce. Not everyone realizes this, but these burritos Can get a little dry. You need a sauce to help with that. Pepe did the job. Thanks, Pepe. Also, side note. I didn't get the horchata I ordered. I don't know who dropped the ball, Pepe, Uber Eats, or the driver being thirsty, but either way, I got a refund. Just bothersome. Overall, this place was pretty good. They did the important things correctly. Some of the side items were a little lacking. But, priorities, right? I've seen many negative reviews and I really don't agree. There are a few things that can be improved - flooring between bar and bathrooms, the bathrooms themselves, and the vibe. It does need some more flare - either in the kitschy Mexican theme or in a sultry vacation lounge vibe. It's kind of stuck between both. Aside from that, the food has been really good. In the past we have ordered steak tacos, fajitas, multiple margs, mole enchiladas, and the XL burrito. Have I been blown away? No, but I wouldn't expect to be at a local Mexican spot. What I do expect is quality recipes, fresh ingredients, great service, good drinks, and a fair price. You easily get all of that with Pepe's. This last visit introduced me to the most tender steak and bright chimichurri. Do NOT sleep on their black beans- they are fantastic and knock any refried beans out of the fryer. My hubs is a big fan of the mixed meat fajitas - fresh, seasoned well, and spitting away on their sizzling platter. As for drinks - I've been met with a heavy hand each time and that more than pays for the drinks themselves. Tasty, bright, and living up to their names! Don't go here expecting authentic perfection from the epicenter of Mexico. Go here looking for a tasty, filling meal, deliciously potent drinks, and a fun night out. With far too many beloved restaurants going out of business lately, let's support those that are trying their best to leave their stamp and give us tasty meals for a good price in a good location. Ps. I had a good laugh after I realized how similar this was to my last review. But one additional pro - for any mommas out there, their bathroom includes not only a changing table but also a strapped-in seat to hold your toddler while you take care of baby! I love that they have a sampler platter for an app. I love to try a little bit of everything. Cons: We got this through Uber Eats, and either them or Uber dropped the ball and forgot an item we ordered. Tips: The sampler platter app was good. I recommend. Went with some coworkers around 5pm for drinks and dinner. The server didn't seem to be knowledgeable about the menu. I asked about happy hour and she said yes until 5:30. We asked a couple of questions about drinks and both times she said "I don't know, I've never tried them." Then after we ordered the drinks she said happy hour had ended at 5. We all enjoyed our drinks. I she the sangria and it was very good. The friends said their margaritas were good, although a little pricey for $13 each. The queso fundido appetizer was full of grease upon arrival and was not very tasty. I know it's cheese and totally fatty but wasn't expecting puddles of oil. I ordered the bowl with grilled chicken. The chicken was good but the rest of the bowl was just ok. Other servers (maybe SAs?) were very attentive with water/chip refills which was nice. Finally tried the new location! The decor is a little under whelming for a Mexican spot, but that does not mean it reflected in the food! I ate for lunch, which opened at 11:30. They had a part of the menu for lunch and happy hour until 5:30 weekdays so def not a bad deal. I ordered the Colorado pork stew enchiladas, which had a ton of flavor and honestly a good portion with rice and beans for lunch. The loaded topo chico is a must to drink here! Table side guacamole was okay but could've used more of a kick. I wouldn't recommend sitting outside, there is a lake adjacent on the next road that smelled absolutely atrocious if the wind blew just right in our direction. Also the handicap bathroom only had hand sanitizer at the sink instead of soap which was odd. read more
