Very disappointed with Tikka. I've had this place bookmarked for a while now and was looking forward to trying it. My dad went to pick up our order after calling ahead. When he got there, he was told that they did not have his order. After asking a few questions, my dad was told that they had given our order away to someone else. He then had to wait 15 more minutes for them to remake the order. The whole point of calling ahead was to avoid having to wait for them to make the order, so that was an inconvenience. Aside from the poor service, the food was honestly nothing worth writing home about. My beef gyros were very salty, and I found myself reaching for water after every bite. Pretty good food at this place. I ordered the beef tikka and I asked for it to be spicy but didn't notice much spice at all. That could just be me though because I like a pretty extreme spice level. The flavor was on point though, plenty of sauce and enough for me to have two meals. The garlic naan was really good, thin and with a bit of a crunch which I'm not used to but I really enjoyed. In my experience, food courts generally have the same franchised establishments. I was drawn to Tikka because I had never seen this restaurant name before. This LOOKS like a fast food joint but it isn't. My husband and I decided on the chicken tikka masala rice bowl and the chicken chana masala rice bowl, both mildly spicy. They started cooking our food after we ordered and paid for it. It did take about 15 minutes for our food to be ready, so if you're in a hurry, it's a good idea to order ahead. (Through the Yelp app, you can order online and have your food ready for pick up.) Both the meals were kind of big; hubby could finish one bowl, however, for me, it was worth 2 meals. The flavor of both dishes was just okay, especially when compared to sit-down Indian food establishments. I would prefer a little more flavor, but this place isn't bad at all. We spent much less here for tasty food than we would have at any of the restaurants in Victoria Gardens. It took some time to get our food but we typically go to Victoria Gardens when we're having a lazy, uneventful day so we're never on any type of schedule. The food is consistently excellent and tasty every time which is why I keep coming back. But today the service was lagging big time! Usually when I go the gentlemen is always amazing and kind. Today I went and stood there for a few mins and walked around to see if there was anyone in the back and no one came out. I called their number so I can let them know someone is waiting at the front to order and no one answered. The customer behind me just left so I thought of doing the same. Just as I was about to go next door to Panda Express a lady comes walking out with an ear piece on looked like she was in a heated discussion. I went back and ordered and she barely even looked up or said anything to me. The entire time she was speaking to whomever was on the ear piece in her own language. She starts making my food and I can see her hands flailing as she is fully engaged in the conversation in her ear. I get my food after an ungodly amount of time. She hands it to me without utensils or napkins and walks away. No problem I grabbed things myself.
