The stars are for the fast service, great customer service and the fact that they are halal. The food was not what we expected. I hate to write anything less than 4 stars for a halal restaurant but this is verrrrry food court-esque. We got the mint lemonade, which was not fresh squeezed lemonade even though I asked and was told it was. We got a grilled chicken salad which was ok. The gyro platter which was ok, the fries needed salt and were not the greatest. And the biryani was not biryani. It was just a white rice mixed with a chicken curry and stirred together. The food is consistently excellent and tasty every time which is why I keep coming back. But today the service was lagging big time! Usually when I go the gentlemen is always amazing and kind. Today I went and stood there for a few mins and walked around to see if there was anyone in the back and no one came out. I called their number so I can let them know someone is waiting at the front to order and no one answered. The customer behind me just left so I thought of doing the same. Just as I was about to go next door to Panda Express a lady comes walking out with an ear piece on looked like she was in a heated discussion. I went back and ordered and she barely even looked up or said anything to me. The entire time she was speaking to whomever was on the ear piece in her own language. She starts making my food and I can see her hands flailing as she is fully engaged in the conversation in her ear. I get my food after an ungodly amount of time. She hands it to me without utensils or napkins and walks away. No problem I grabbed things myself. I don't think she was paying attention to what she was doing because the salad which is usually great was so soggy and drenched with dressing it was absolutely inedible. 3.5 stars. One cannot live on hot dogs on a stick or orange chicken alone, so it's nice to see Indian spot Tikka arrive at this food court. Around $10 gets you a bowl filled with rice and either chicken or veggies. They don't skimp on their portions at Tikka and I'm pretty stuffed afterwards. I like their vegetarian dishes chana masala (garbanzo beans) and daal masala (yellow lentils), while my wife is a fan of their chicken tikka masala. The samosas aren't bad, either. Unfortunately, there's been a little inconsistency with my bowls; more than once my bowl has been overly salted. Also, the service here is S-L-O-W. Maybe they're making things from scratch, maybe they're short staffed, but I can't imagine coming here on a lunch break when time is of essence. Thankfully, I've only eaten here during dinner when my wife and I are not in a rush, but it's been a 15-20 minute wait every time. Ugh. It's located in the food courts of Victoria Gardens and parking is plenty full. The restaurant is not as busy so waiting for your food should be a breeze. I ordered the Lamb Biryani and a Garlic Naan. The Lamb Biryani was tasty with the lamb being super tender and juicy. However the rice had too much cardamom and bay leaves taste to it.
