We went to Tile 2 Stone while shopping for the new backsplash for our kitchen. Jimmy was amazingly helpful! He helped us grab a slab of quartz that matched what we had for our counter top to better see our color scheme. I appreciated that he gave us space to look around and shop. We were waffling over our decision when we went to him for help. He has a great eye for color and immediately went around the store grabbing multiple samples to compliment our counter tops and cabinets. He's completely knowledgeable about all of his stock and therefore could immediately respond to any of our likes or dislikes with further tile suggestions. I would 100% recommend this place. In the spring of 2011, I was searching for green tile to do my bathroom. Jimmy was so patient with my quest and found a beautiful and affordable green tile for me. Now this fall a friend needed a bathroom remodel and again Jimmy (and Kelly) were so helpful and went as far as to send us to another source just to make sure we found what we needed. I went to all of the big and high end tile stores in/around Sacramento but found the selection here just as impressive without the fancy showrooms (and higher prices). I understand it's their policy not to return tile work or stone or other things not in stock, but what IS in stock? Anything? Also it was shoddy glass and tile mosaic detail, broken and glued back together that the guy wouldn't return to the company he purchased it from. He said "he would not reveal his sources" so I can't boycott them, so it comes back on him. Nice business practices... stand up for crappy materials producers- wouldn't take back a $40 piece because it was crap when we spend over a thousand dollars in his shop and honorably paid a $50 debt our construction worker accrued before fleeing. Honestly, deal with customers appropriately- the guy said I was blaming him for my anger towards our old contractor and started to walk away upset. I will not return for any work and am telling my contractor friends of their policies and practices. read more

I had gone to just about every tile showroom in the area looking for unusual pool tile, not the standard 6X6 tile. I was not finding what I had in mind, and some of the reps weren't very helpful. After searching a few stores and going from wood floors to tile floors that look like wood I am so happy with the look. The tile was 8 x 48 and really looks like wood but with my big dogs I was worried about scratches. I went with a urethane grout that wont stain so I don't have to clean it on my hands and knees like my old tile. Jimmy showed us the tile when we went into the store and it was perfect. I will try to post some pictures of my project. The tile was Marazzi. We had to get special pacers that were red and round so that the tile stay's flat as it was longer than most tiles. read more

When I first was given 4 places to look at tile by my contractor, 3 were chain stores and then there was Tile 2 Stone. I almost didn't even go here, and I'm so glad I did! Jimmy is the best! I made many trips in a period of 4 weeks. Each week I was walking out of there with many samples because I really didn't know what I wanted. Jimmy was patient with me and showed me many nice options. I found a few options in rectangle tile I liked, but then I discovered wood looking tile and began my search from scratch again! Jimmy was always patient and offered the personal service only a small business could and would do. He was busy, but always made me feel like my being there was important to him! I wanted to write a review a couple of weeks ago, but I decided to wait until I got my tile. My friend and I came in recently to see the selection here. Both of us were in a choose and buy mode as we were tired from all the tile store shopping around. There happened to be a very nice gentleman who held the door for us and we exchanged pleasantries about how lovely a day it was. We had not but 2 minutes to look and overheard the owner behind the counter raising his voice to this man, saying you're just trying to steal my business. He quickly pulls a card out of his hand and told him to get out of my store. Whoooo! My girlfriend and I take one look at each other and said "let's get out of here" By the end of our long day the last thing we needed to deal with was an ungrateful, nasty business owner with an attitude. He tried to race after us yelling mamm, mamm. We gave him "the look" With the cost of tile these days you better feel good about the supplier you are giving your choice and money to. Would not recommend this store and will suggest to our contractor not to use him either for other jobs if possible. When are people going to learn...being cordial goes along way. He didn't deserve our business or yours either....try another neighborhood establishment. Sad read more

Bought out tile here a few years ago. It was a special order, but we were able to get the look we wanted for almost 1/2 the cost of any other retailer ($11 at HD on sale, $7 a foot special order from tile 2 stone). The tile was a bear to work with, partually due to the type and partually due to the cheap backing, but once we worked the kinks out and got it down it has help up well and 3 years later still looks fantastic. We ordered too little, knew there was no returns, but they sold us an extra 1/2 box when we were partually through the project with no issues (they let us split the box on the initual purchase and bore the cost of keeping a small amount of special order as stock), which was pretty awsome. read more

Jimmy was extremely rude and condescending (because I'm a female?). He did nothing to help me identify the tile I needed - I had to search his store for it. When I told him what I wanted, he didn't really listen to me, but just kept insisting that it wasn't available without looking at the tile I was talking about. I finally got him to look at the tile I was talking about and he agreed that they could get what I was looking for, but when it came in it wasn't the right color and he refused to take it back. $100 down the drain. He was not nice, not courteous, not helpful, not friendly. I went across the street to Daltile, which was the store that was originally recommended to me and they got me exactly what I wanted. read more

Even though the showroom is on the smaller side, the selection is better than any other tile store that I went to (and I went to more than a dozen). Jimmy is super knowledgeable and while he was waiting on me, I heard him send another customer to another store that carried exactly what he was looking for. I was impressed. We did a total remodel on our house and spent a long time looking all over town for kitchen and back splash tile. After taking several samples home from other tile shops and not being satisfied I happened into Tile 2 Stone, as they were closing. Jimmy (the owner) told me to take my time and offered his help but was in no way pushy. He was very personable and helpful. After taking several samples home over the course of a month we finally picked floor and back splash tile. Jimmy was very patient with all my mind changing. I am very please with the tiles we ordered and the excellent service Jimmy provided. His selection is great for the size of the showroom and his prices are very competitive with the larger stores. I will definitely use Jimmy again if I need to do any tile work. I was shocked to see the bad reviews on Tile 2 Stone because my experience was noting like what they were saying their experience was. I totally agree with the Christina's posting. This store does not take return products. You need to buy exact amount you need. If you are not sure how much you need, you'd better to shop at Home Depot and Lowes. They take care of customers problems. While the store is a little cramped with inventory, you still have room to look and move around freely without breaking or damaging tiles. What makes the store great is the owner Jimmy!! He is courteous and very professional. He followed up with phone calls and emails on my order. Initially, I was undecided on what I should buy; porcelain tile or tile that looks like hardwood. When I thought I had found what I wanted, it turned out the product was discontinued. After several weeks of Jimmy searching to find it elsewhere, he found it for me from the East Coast, and was delivered a week later. Jimmy lets you browse without being pushy. He gives you a fair price that is competitive with the other tile stores in the area. I don't know what the other bad reviews are about, as it doesn't seem remotely close to my encounters with him. I have been a tile contractor in Sacramento for over 30 years and thought I'd seen it all, untill I entered tile 2stone. A customer of mine had picked out a tile for his kitchen there. When he told me the price quoted to him I decided to do some comparison. I brought a sample of similar tile into the store and asked to see the the selected tile. The store owner just said No. "do you think I'm stupid?" he said. "you are trying to take away my customer. Get out!" I felt like he might become violent I was trying to make sure my customer wasn't getting overcharged,but I guess tile 2 stone is not into that. I have never been treated so harshly or disrespectfully in all my years of contracting. I can go into any other tile store in town and get the same product, why would I buy anything from someone that doesn't allow comparison. I look forward to telling all of my tile contracting friends and customers about my experience at tile 2 stone.
