A neighborhood place where good food and good service can be found. Elizabeth is an awesome server, she is a kind and very customer focused server. Her welcoming attitude makes coming here worthwhile as there is one closer but they don't have Elizabeth. The food is good and the variety covers most everything you might want. It's a nice restaurant but could use a facelift, overall it's clean and kept up well. The only drawback is no Manager Table Touches. Have been in a couple times this month and not one manager could be seen doing table touches. Well well well I haven't been here in quite awhile! I met a gf for lunch today. We decided to have the lovely oriental chicken salad. Boy ... that has changed over the years. We were thinking we would have a doggie bag... nope! Hehe. It was good with grilled barely warm chicken on it. It's now in a soup type bowl very shallow too. They give u two 4oz cups of dressing. U only need one have of one and that's ALOT of dressing. They used to mix it then serve but now u can do it. Service was good. I went to this Applebees to order take out for my wife and I, well when I got inside I realized I locked my keys in the car and my phone was almost dead. So I asked for a charger, they provided, and I got to work on getting a locksmith out. I waited almost two hours until someone finally said they were on their way. I ended up eating there, ordered my wife's food to go and had a couple drinks and they comp'd the whole tab because they saw what I was dealing with. There were a lot of bad reviews for this location but higher than the other location. But I really wanted to try the $1 Malibu so we made the trip here. We came in like 40 minutes before close and I was hoping we could dine in at a booth. The bar was a bit crowded and rowdy. Luckily we were greeted promptly and kindly, then seated immediately by our hostess. Our waiter, Justin (or perhaps Dustin) was amazing and attentive. He always was courteous to let us know how we had til the kirchen closed and if we needed anything. We had who I believe the manager come by and he was sweet, asking how was the food. Which brings me to the food! The food was absolutely delicious! The all you can eat chicken tenders with endless fries was actually all you can eat riblets, chicken tenders and fried shrimp. The chicken tenders were tasty and the fried shrimp was succulent! The brisket tacos and wings were soooo good! My boyfriend and I were so surprised that everything were perfect! I know how it is during the closer hour at restaurant and we usually don't feel like serving. I came tonight looking forward to a nice plane burger, I specifically ask for a burger with lettuce and cheese. when it got to the table it had pickles and tomatoes. I asked them to take it back and less than a minute later they came back with my burger. when I took a bite I tasted pickles and tomatoes. Came here for my birthday weekend to try some "dranks" with my boys and the service was a little off... possibly due to the busy weekend. The entire bar area was packed, but we still got happy hour specials from our booth. A group behind us really wanted to dine in the bar, but the wait was a good 30 to 45 minutes... they left right after hearing that. The food was enjoyable as always, but the portion sizes were a little smaller than expected. I use to dine at Applebee's pretty often, but am surprised the franchise has extended some of their dietary restriction items - vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free... lucky for me I'm seasoned and know how to order at the drop of a hat, but that's not the case for everyone. This location is kept in top shape and I've been here a few times now and can't complain other than when they get slammed and seem to neglect or forget tables for periods of time. I recently went into Applebees with my 3 friends and 2 of us shared the 2 for 25$ deal and my other 2 friends did the same exact thing. Two of us got the Mac and cheese with honey pepper chicken on top, the meal was horrible to say the least. They covered the chicken with honey and it consumed the plate with a puddle full of honey. My friend and I barely ate it. The manager came over and asked how everything was, we told her the food was covered in honey and hard to eat. She said she'd give us a small discount off and her attitude was a bit questionable. When we received the bill she only took 10% off of ONE dish only giving us 2.80$ off our meal while both of our plates remained barely touched. She also charged us for the game iPad you can play even thought we never touched the thing hoping we wouldn't notice but we called it out. Sorry my Yelp friends the menu is digital for right now, but from what I see there is not much that has changed. The host was very friendly when I walked in and asked me for my name to make sure my lunch buddy would find me. The chips were okay, I prefer a thinner, crisper Texture, they weren't salty or greasy. The guacamole I believe was processed not not freshly made. From the texture of it I could tell, too smooth but left a coating on my tongue. The lime salsa also was nothing fantastic, I've had worst but I've also had better from my local grocery store. This is my favorite Applebee's location. I'm five minutes away from the one on the opposite end of meridian but I still drive to this one. The food and service is just much better. I've been frequenting this one since 2015, even stopping in when I'm just in the area. I'm only writing a review because I realized that I had not done it before and deserve their recognition because I have walked out of many of Applebee's for awful food or service. I stick to the ones that are consistent and this one has been one of those. Even in the middle of a pandemic they are doing an amazing job. I should have known from the 20 minute wait that this was gonna be a bad night. Waiter was hard to find, barely checked on us I think his name was Marco or something. Somehow my 3 yr olds food which was a corn dog and broccoli came out 5 min later from everyone else, even though u know thats a microwaved ready to serve dish. The corn dog was barely like warm when it came out, I know because he doesn't eat the breading so I had to peel it off and felt the dog and I guess good for him it wasn't hot so didn't burn him and he could eat it right away. Didn't check on us for refills I had to flag him down and ask for a 2nd chocolate milk for my daughter, maybe they don't care since that's free anyways. Ordered 2 desserts.apple fritter wouldn't recommend and a mini sundae in a shot glass basically, had to remind "Marco" about it and get his attention. He apologized and offered another one on the house. 10 min later it still didn't come so we left. Also took extra long to cash out, meaning I paid in cash and it took him 10 min to come back with Change, I was worried he assumed the change was his tip, either way he came back finally so I was glad I didn't have to say anything Also, take a peak at the $16 salmon and seasonal veggies. Lol the salmon was pitiful almost as bad as the service. Would not recommend. Will not return to this location. Saturdays are busy I get it but learn to be efficient, accurate and tentative. For the Puyallup South Hill Mall location, I give a place more than a couple tries before I write a review. The food was your typical decent happy hour offerings, nothing gourmet or special but just typical. The reason for the two star rating is the terrible female bartender during Happy Hour. She pays attention to the men customers and her regulars. As a woman going in by myself I get ignored every time. I sit there and wait while she converses with her 'regulars' 90% of which are men. I wait and wait until she decides it's time to look around and see who is waiting to be waited on. I tip every time and I only do because of the food preparers and the servers who bring it out to me. Hair was in my food I work in the restaurant industry myself when there is hair in food we remake it and take it off of the customers bill maybe this place is just different? They remade my food which I'm extremely grateful for they still charged me which I guess is fine because they remade the food but for someone that was once a supervisor in the restaurant industry management or supervisor didn't offer to take it off of the bill didn't offer any free soda or a 10 percent off for the hair that was found in my food or the extra time that I had to wait for my food to be remade. Tonight (Nov.4) my wife and I visited Applebee's on South Hill for drinks and dinner. We are regular customers because of the wide menu, good food and good service. Tonight there was a patron at the bar watching the UW - USC game. He was very loud, the only person in the place shouting comments continuously. I asked him to be quiet so my wife and I could enjoy our meal. he was quiet through most of of dinner, but "John" was obviously well known to the staff, a couple of whom came over to sit with him and commiserate with him, after which he began shouting again. BAD location and terrible service! The server Rachel in the bar was rude, unprofessional, and just plain terrible. I came in and sat there while she was socializing and looking at pics on an elderly couple's phone. No greeting. No water. No service. I waited patiently for her to finish up her socializing and she acted like I was interrupting her day when she finally came over. She was completely unfriendly, sullen, and nasty. She went back to talk and look at the couple's phone 4 times while I was there 15 mins vs serving customers. A simple request of water and lemon with my food. She brought the water over with no lemon and slammed it on the table. Went back to the couple. No big deal. Maybe she forgot? I waited patiently 5-7mins and she circled back to elderly couple AGAIN to share more pics on their phone, while pulling out her tablet and pretending to take their order for the 6th time! She clearly knew them. I waved to her and asked if I could get the lemon (that I requested and she didn't bring). She looked pissed, walked OVER, held up a finger, and said "I'll be right with you"! Then she LITERALLY ignored me and walked back over to spend more time socializing with this couple and another staff person. CLEARLY, I was interrupting her PAID lazy day off at WORK! I was pretty satisfied with the salad but tonight they told me they took away the half sizes, which is one of the main reasons why I came here. I don't like eating any of their other entrees but now I probably won't be coming back anytime soon since I have to order a full-sized salad. It's good enough to eat the whole thing, but I can't finish it. They do have a new dessert that we tried tonight, which was the churro S'mores. Wow that was pretty freaking delicious!
