The atmosphere was friendly, we enjoyed meeting other patrons, including several Canadian Army veterans on a motorcycle tour, and the service from the initial bartender was excellent. We appreciated being allowed to play a complimentary game of pool. Unfortunately, the experience changed dramatically after the bartending shift change. From that point on, we felt unwelcome and believed staff chose to side with a small group of patrons during a disagreement rather than taking the time to understand the situation. Ultimately, we were asked to leave, which came as a complete surprise and left us feeling embarrassed and disappointed. We got a bag of chips and were told they were out of the tater tots and French fries. No respectable Irish bar would not be able to serve fries or some form of potato with a meal. The bar had about 10 people in the bar and they were all pretty drunk. It is not a fun pub but a place with some sad drunks.
