Took in my grandpa's watch for a Crystal replacement (glass on the front of the watch). Also brought my watch in for a new battery. Replaced my battery for $6 immediately while I stood there. Had to wait a couple of days for grandpa's watch. When I went to pick it up, the watch mechanic said he could not locate parts for it as it was a discontinued model. He said he was waiting to hear back from a guy about an after-market replacement. I was so bummed, but a few days later he called to say he had located the part and to bring the watch back in! I am thankful he went the extra mile to locate the part that was needed so I could have my beloved grandpa's watched fixed for my dad to wear. We have had prompt and most excellent home repair visits for our grandfather clock. The first was after a house move, to adjust and perform maintenance. The second was this past week to fix our failed chimes and movement. Four years after our first visit, Mario remembered our house and our clock, and yesterday did a repair but didn't charge us. He said to wait a week to make sure it would continue to work because he wasn't sure if it might need additional work or replacement. They tried so hard to cheat me out of a watch I brought in for a battery replacement!! I brought in a Swiss Military watch I had bought at a thrift store. I asked for a battery replacement. Two men were there, one at a workbench and the second was behind the counter. After they conversed in a language i didn't understand, man #2 said to me that the watch wasn't going to work with a new battery because it had water damage (it didn't and he didn't prove it by putting in a battery). He also said it was a fake because components were Chinese not Swiss (Not true and he should know! For a watch to be stamped "Swiss Made" only 60 percent of the manufacturing costs of a watch need to occur in Switzerland). He then offered to take it off my hands for $10. I politely declined; he then offered to trade two watches for my Swiss Military that he claimed wouldn't work. Slimy!!! I got the battery replaced somewhere else and the person who did it said he didn't notice any water damage. I told him the story without saying where and he knew exactly who I was talking about!!! He said the watch was worth maybe $100, which is what I had already concluded after checking out similar used watches online . Why did the guy at Timekeepers try so hard to cheat me out of a watch worth less than $100? It seemed like he did it for sport! read more

These guys are THE BEST!! Been in Encinitas forever. I have been going here for years, but this is the first review I have written. They have fixed numerous watches for me, do it on the spot and are reasonably priced. Simple things like band adjustments they don't even charge for! The owners are true gentlemen! I love how honest they are!! For example, some companies use cheap gaskets to seal "water proof" watches, so if they take off the back, the seals are typically wrecked. This is why a lot of the companies say the warranty is void if the battery change is not done by them. Plus the watch company will also gouge you for this battery exchange. Most shops would just change it and leave you with a damaged watch, but not Timekeepers. I would recommend them to anyone! read more

I've been coming here a long time. The guys who run (own?) this shop are terrific. They are friendly and quick and their prices are ridiculously low. RiDICulously low. It's a very small shop but the clocks and watches here are very cool. I know watches are becoming extinct because everyone's sphincters are stuck to the clocks on their cell phones, but whatever. I've been going to Timekeepers for 18 yrs. They are honest, reliable, fast, & Sooo reasonably priced! I guess because other electronics repair places are so expensive Timekeepers seems so reasonable. But they really are! How many times have I gone in & had a link removed & the owner says, " it's ok!" or a battery replaced in 5 mins & "$5"?!?? Awesome! We've brought grandfather clocks there, all our watches, and like other reviews say, if they can't fix them up to the quality that they were before, they let you know right off the bat. They are always busy but that's because everyone around knows how great they are. As busy as they are, they are always customer service oriented and always try to get to each person as quickly as possible. My husband has had issues with his watchband spring where it attaches to the watch face continually breaking. He wears it daily and I'm sure is hard on it. Many replaced springs later with a jeweler, I finally found Timekeepers. I walked in and asked if he could do the repair. He did so in about 4 minutes and wished me a very nice day. I asked the charge, he said simply "have a very nice day".
