We met up with some friends for dinner and ordered a special set for $88 for 3 dishes but there's also a stipulation to add 2 more dishes from the regular menu. For the set...we chose the stir fry fresh ling cod, clay pot w/cod belly and tossed chicken in truffle sauce. Other 2 dishes we added are braised prawns w/leeks+ Ong Choi w/ beef. They used less salt and less oil so that's much healthier if one dines out frequently! Our reservation was for 5:30 so very quiet and peaceful. Attentive service, changed plates frequently, teapot always full. Good value for price paid...esp. we had a few dishes of seafood, they also have a special on for lobster at $20/lb for a two and half pound critter.

I went to this restaurant for Dim Sum. The quality was good and I tried some dim sum I haven't tried before. This time I ordered the hand-sliced chicken meat salad. That was tasty. Their other dim sum taste delicious too.

Visited Toronto in April and couldn't get into Kirin on a Wednesday five minutes after they opened! So we ' went across the street and decided to try Parkhill. The restaurant was not busy, unlike Kirin. We were told it was tax season. They also offered 10% off on weekday mornings before 11am, and some special lunch items. Everything we ordered was very tasty and solid. We had the shrimp dumplings,, Siu Mai, beef rice rolls, egg tart, sausage and spare ribs on rice, bean tip leaves with dried scallops and enoki mushrooms, and pan seared vermicelli with beef and bitter melon and pickled cabbage. The vermicelli was our favorite, really delicious! We saw their special on king crab: $398 with purchase of two other dishes. I asked about the weight of the king crabs and was told they were about 7 pounds. That's cheaper than supermarket price! So we decided to go back for dinner. The three of us had a 7-pound king crab cooked two ways (steamed legs and claws with garlic, and deep fried body with salt and pepper); half a steamed boneless chicken with Virginia ham, shiitake mushrooms, and tender green 金華玉樹鷄; and a stir fried Ling cod fillet with Chinese broccoli. They were all really delicious and very good value. Although I still think that Kirin has better dim sum (we made a reservation and went back on a different day) and service, Parkhill is a good, solid alternative with really good value. Service was decent, they just didn't have a lot of bodies. I do recommend Parkhill for dim sum and for dinner.

Came here for dinner on a recent Vancouver trip and food was pretty good. We ordered the Alaska king crab set menu. The crab was done well - I don't usually enjoy eating seafood but the steamed crab claws had a great garlic flavor and the other crab dish we got was fried well and had great seasoning without having too much kick. The braised pork belly here was also really tasty, the meat just melts in your mouth. Service was alright, started off well with timely plate changes but tapered off once they got busier. Parking was relatively easy, with a large shared lot between London Drugs/Empire Seafood/Parkhill Seafood and some other businesses. IIRC, you do need to leave your license plate at the front for validation purposes. Price was fair for what you get.

Pretty good dim sum spot considering they are fairly new. We came for brunch on Monday and it wasn't too busy. We ordered a TON of food.... shui mai, har kaw, spareribs, chicken feet, baked pork buns, shrimp rice roll, beef rice roll, Chinese donut with shredded pork, egg yolk buns, turnip cake, chicken wing stuffed with glutinous rice, and e-fu noodle in abalone sauce. We definitely had a lot of leftovers haha I thought the dim sum all tasted good, one of my favorites was the Chinese donut with shredded pork since that tasted interesting. It was crunchy, a tad sweet but also salty. A fan of the combination of flavors! Clean place + good dim sum + decent service = will be back!

One of the best dim sum places I've been to in a while. The variety of dishes to choose from was worthy of applause, and the quality of the dishes was worthy of an encore. Everything came out hot and fresh. There were several unique dishes I hadn't had before including egg battered fried fish skins, tapioca pudding "pie," chicken feet broth stew (the broth being the part I hadn't had). The fried tofu was the best I've ever had of that dish. Superbly battered, and silky smooth on the inside. The ginger chicken was just straight fresh. If you read this before coming here, savor the quality. Because you shouldn't expect this level of quality from just any dim sum place.

Came here last night for dinner upon a birthday invite. It's a set menu of which price I have no idea. The food was very good. This is my second time eating in this restaurant, the first bring dim sum, and should say, it's good. Not 5 stars yet ? I'd say not quite there yet. It lacks the delicate flavor and chef creativity to make more stars but dinner last night was not a disappointment at all. The beef rib is something new and worth a try.

Food and service is okay in this place. However, we shall not return again because we felt there is no integrity here... My partner saw the ad posted on the Mingpao newspaper yesterday that Early birds get 20% off on the dimsum if paid before between 9-11 am. This morning 10/16 Saturday we arrived at 10:33 am, ordered 5 dimsum and by 10:59 am, we tried to check out but the server said this discount thing is not valid due to the weekends been changed to 9-10 (no details ever disclosed in their ad...) Too bad we are disqualified for this early bird Siumai/squid game with Parkhill! The total bill comes to $48.14. Well, definitely not a pleasant experience especially for my gf, we paid and left. No plans to return. We eat out all the time, we won't complain at all if the charges are fair and square. Otherwise, we simply take our business somewhere else with integrity, period!

Im not sure why people said their service was bad... this is our 2nd time here and I was original from HK but live in US for over 20 years. Their service is fast and just like in Hong Kong. Food was good and I tried 2 other dim sum places around this area and I really like them. First of all while I was checking in at the reception, there were 2 other families trying to cut in front of me. The receptionist was on it and still take care of us first. I sat down and was able to get my tea and my food order within 10 mins. I added a fried rice after and the server came back and follow up with me within 10 mins and make sure i got my order soon. I really dont see why people dont like their service... may be all customers were in a rush (that's what i see they want everything "now"). Come on.. relax and enjoy your sunday dim sum people!

So my family and I have been coming here on the weekly for dim sum. On our last visit, my sister found a needle-type object in her food. We could not figure out what the object was but only knew it would've been bad if it cut into her gums or was swallowed. We notified the manager and he examined the object but didn't offer any apologies or explanation as to why and how the object was in the food. It's not like it's something organic like hair or an insect, it was something sharp and potentially dangerous if swallowed. The manager simply said if there's any discomfort with her teeth/mouth, come back and let him know. He offered to write off the cheapest thing we ordered at lunch (sponge cake) and that was it. We were a little appalled and taken aback as the manager seemed unfazed. We can only assume that this happens often enough that he doesn't find it shocking anymore? In any case, sadly, we won't be coming back anytime soon.

This year's lunar new year, we decided to try Parkhil Seafood Restaurant's Chinese New Year menu. This ex-Teochew restaurant has rebranded and is now serving Cantonese dishes. Deluxe Dinner Set For Sour ($388): Shark's Fin Soup with Fresh Crab Meat (4 bowls) Braised Live Lobster with Soy Sauce and Onion Soy Bean Marinated Black Cod Fish - Baked Code Fish with Dijon Marinated Chicken - Chicken Marinated with Truffle Sauce (served cold) Braised Whole Dried Scallops - Dried Scallops served with Oyster Sauce on bed of cabbage, Shitake Mushroom and black moss (FaCai) Assorted Seafood Fried Rice - Prawn and Scallop Egg Fried Rice Daily Dessert - Osmanthus Jelly with Red Dates Overall, the food were either hit or miss. After not having shark fin for years, their Shark Fin soup for sure brought out good memories. The soup was thick, the shark fin and the fresh crab meat were very generous. This is probably the highlight of the night. The Lobster dish was also amazing. The lobster was fresh, and the seasoning was spot on. The fish in the cod dish was also fresh, but this dish reminds me of Japanese style black cod miso. Marinated Chicken dish was a surprised for me, as the dish was served cold, but it was a pleasant surprised as the black truffle taste was very strong and it worked well with cold chicken. +8 for this. On the other hand, the rest of the food were pretty bad. For the braised dried scallop, the scallop was springy and easily broken. They might overcooked the scallop. The shitake's stem was still pretty hard, so it might be undercooked. The fried rice was the worst, it only had small pieces of prawn and scallop, and was pretty bland. Lastly, the dessert had no flavor. -2 star for this. Finally, the service was not great. One of the lobster claw was uncooked. We made a complain, but they did not do anything nor apolagize about it. They took the lobster away and it never came back after telling us they will recook it. -3 stars for this.

There is free parking in the plaza ramp. I grew up eating dim sum and since I'm visiting from the states I expected this place to be better with the Chinese population here but I must say this place didn't impress me. We had spoiled shrimp inside one of our sui mai order. Food was more on the bland side. We went as a big group and was able to get a table right away without waiting.

First time here after it's new opening - came for Dim Sum. More on the pricey side but they definitely have some unique ingredients and presentation to the traditional dim sum. Grilled eel on flakey pastry, carrot-shaped fried glutinous rice dumpling, mini pineapple buns with char siu and more. Each item tasted freshly made, good ingredients and the plating was really nice. A feast for the eyes and stomach! Service was top-notch and very attentive - empty plates cleared immediately and tea always topped up. Covid precautions in place. Overall, another good dim sum to add to the Richmond list.

May be it's because we are all in "food coma" by the end of dinner! This visit was for dinner - and we were outside the door waiting even before they opened at 5:30. On a Tuesday. And we were already second in line. Celebrating a birthday, we had cold jellyfish starter, lobster fried e-fu mein, braised pomelo skin with seafood, and beef fried kai lan. The lobster was perfectly cooked. Even slight over-cooking can make the lobster meat tough. However, every piece was perfectly cooked. Including the large claws. Cooked with ginger and scallions, the lobster gravy coated each strand of e-fu noodles to umami yumminess. The braised pomelo skin was a special seasonal dish. I have not had this dish in many decades, and when I saw this in the special seasonal menu, I had to get it. The bittersweet braised pomelo skin complemented perfectly the fresh seafood, and topped a bed of Chinese spinach. It was the first time for the other members of my family and they literally sucked it all down. The beef with kai lan was another standout. Beef slices were tender and delicious and that perfectly complemented the well seared gai lan - great evidence of wok hei. Service is exemplary. Not just for a Chinese restaurant, but for any restaurant. The servers are constantly on the alert, and Everytime they see a plate filled with lobster shells, they would whip it away and replace it with a clean plate. They made sure that tea cups were filled and kept us updated with the delivery of the next dish. And at the end of the meal, dessert (Tong Shui) was complimentary... and they added a wonderfully light and flaky walnut cookie and piece of mochi for each of us.

Hei Hei Rice Roll is legit good, totally recommend, even my daughter too, I thought of her ( since she LOVES rice roll and couldn't make it on this trip with me) while enjoying these roll but when I shared with her the photos and mention that we will go back here with her- she already visited. She said it was so good! Hei Hei Rice Roll is located at the Richmond Public Market, oh wow - this place is really popular, on the 2nd visit I was the first in line then the line wasn't so long but while waiting for our order, the line got super long. I was lucky I didn't wait long in line. Best to arrive early. I am not sure what the secret to the rice roll but Wow, it's so thin, silky, smooth texture with the toppings, so great together. The last 2 times we had rice roll with my daughter at Portland and Seattle- followed per Instagram reels- those did not even compare to these rolls. My first visit I got the combo which is the best deals, starts at $15.50 but depends on what you select for the selection for rice rolls and congee. I got the pork & preserved egg congee, shrimp, mushroom, pork rice roll. The 2nd visit I got the combo again, with liver & preserved egg congee, scallop and shrimp rice rolls, but I got my order wrong for the roll- they missed the shrimp. fyi-I found out that bean sprout, corn, toppings are free! Both combo came out to $17. super cheap! Cash only, they take USD but its the same dollar $ value. I wish they take credit cards, hehe. & the Verdict: Yummy, the congee hits the spot for comfort food, loved how it is cooked and they add peanuts too. Love the packet of sauce for the rice rolls, the umami-ness, so good. Best to eat it hot and fresh! Don't forget to ask for chili sauce, to add that extra spicy kick! For now, I am not sure I'll ever find a spot that is closest to Hei Hei for my congee and rice roll fix until I get to visit Richmond, BC again.

The live seafood tanks had some impressive looking seafood, including giant hairy crabs. They had lots of live seafood specials, and we went for the lobster (3 lb). You can pick the preparation - I wanted the bifengtang style, but it's a little spicy, and we had the kids, so we did classic ginger scallion. You can add noodles or rice, and we went with fried rice. There are also optional add on sauces: truffle or salted egg yolk. The rice was so good and was a very generous portion. The lobster was also cooked perfectly. We also got a scallop, morel, asparagus stir fry, which was a nice and light dish, also generously portioned. They were really nice to the kids and gave them some extra paper to draw on. We also finished with red bean soup and warm lava buns with runny salted egg yolk - so good. We made a reservation last Sunday and when I arrived, the restaurant was packed. Parking in this location is absolutely horrendous on a weekend so please arrive early to find parking! We ordered a variety of dishes to share and most of them arrived promptly. However, I felt a bit disappointed as most of the dishes seemed to be less flavourful than other places I've been to. The fried tofu wasn't seasoned very much and the congee didn't even have any green onion garnish or pepper/salt given on the side. The bean curd dish was weak as the bean curd on the outside seemed to be overcooked or not wrapped as tightly so it was peeling off in the dish (no pic as it arrived late to the table!). For the siu mai, I felt like the size and texture was not as good as my usual place. I did like the oval shaped egg tarts as they weren't too sweet and very fragrant as well as the rice roll with delicious smooth beef filling inside. Service was overall prompt and standard. However, I likely won't return especially knowing how hard it is to park in this plaza.
