First time here, seen that Tim's had many good reviews. We came with our kids, thinking it would be a good spot, also came for late lunch 2pm just so we could avoid the crowd that I have been hearing about. We where seated with only kids menu's, we waited awhile for adult menu's and had to ask for them, we ordered simple items burgers, and Mac and cheese. We waited nearly 30 min for food to come out, waitress never checked on us and never refilled out drinks in that time. Food didn't come out together, we waited an extra 5 min for the hot dog plate to come out. Noticed 3 of the 4 servers where on their phone, including ours for long periods of time. Would say when the food did came out it was good. Waitress never really checked on us again until time to pay. read more

We love going to Tim's for breakfast! The food is ALWAYS great with lots of options and they are very family friendly. Amy has fast become a favorite when we come in with the kiddos - they just love her genuine friendly smile and the kindness she's shown them. I've had the eggs Benedict, ham and asparagus omelette, and veggie scramble always with the diced potatoes and all have been delightful. The kids are always happy with the "mouse" shaped pancake too! It's a relaxed and casual atmosphere with a fun model train that rides the rails near the ceiling - it's a great place to bring your littles - or anyone. Highly recommend! read more

Tim's is a nice little restaurant in sleepy little Orting, WA. This place has some great breakfasts, burgers, and homecooked food. We have been here a couple of times and enjoyed our meals each time. The wait staff is incredibly friendly and courteous, the train that travels around the top of the restaurant makes this place really fun for the family. The food is EXCELLENT, DELICIOUS, AWESOME, etc. Everything tastes really fresh and homecooked and comes in excellent portion sizes. They have really great Montrcristos made with french toast, and a burger made with grilled cheese sandwich buns. Tim's seems to specialize in fun, homecooked food for the whole family. I hate cooking liver and onions, my grandmother use to make it for me!!! Nothing is as good as grandma's, but they are close!

Waited 40 minutes and didn't move up the list! Went there to enjoy breakfast and the place was packed. We put our name on the list and we're told that there was ONE party ahead of us it would be about 20 minutes. We put our name one the list and proceeded to wait. Cut to 20 minutes later and we go to check our status. We are told it will be a bit longer and we continue to wait. When we hit 49 minutes we check our status again. The very annoyed hostess tells us we are next. Then, says "oh, wait. There are TWO more parties in front of you" When we got there 40 Minutes ago there was only one party in front of us. We stopped on a Saturday around 1pm during a bike ride along the Foothills Trail. We didn't seat inside but ordered our lunch (Monte Christo sandwich with onion rings, a chocolate milkshake, and a Dr Pepper) and sat on a bench just outside on the sidewalk as we had our two bicycles with us. Anyway, their menu is extensive and service was topnotch. We were sitting on the bench talking and planning on going inside to pick up our lunch when our number was called, but before we knew it, the waitress came outside with our lunch. She was friendly and our lunch was very good. I recommend this restaurant and we will definitely make it a regular stop for us on our outings to Orting! read more

We were looking for some place new to try for breakfast and with a 4 star average and some good reviews we thought we would check Tim's out. They had a full house, the young man who was the greeter was not very enthusiastic, he seemed bored. The server was friendly and prompt. We ordered the corned beef hash and biscuits and gravy. They are plates are generous, and they were great at refilling coffee. The biscuit was large and was pretty good. The gravy was pretty bland and not enough sausage. Don't judge me but I really like the taste of old-school canned corned beef hash. Guess that an acquired taste, so when places make their own they are typically way too artsy and always have an odd taste. Tim's was pretty good. One question I asked my wife about the gravy she said, "it's not something I'd come back for". Like I said they are busy, fairly quick, and generous - the chicken fried steak was pretty huge. Maybe I'll give them another try to see if it changes. But, prices a fair, they have a big breakfast menu, and some people obviously like it. read more

I think I would shorten the menu, get rid of the music. I try to have specials during the week maybe BBQ things one day Fried Chicken and chicken fried steak specials on a different day. that way you could specialize on a smaller menue. Oh so terrible with accommodating people with food allergies! The can do it, but they want to charge for less food. For instance, I want an omelette and instead of pancakes, potatoes, and bread I ask for a small side salad and they charge $3.99. One time they charged $5.99! The very first time they didn't charge me for the substitution, so you see how inconsistent they are also. This place may be good if you don't care about what you eat, but I have to modify my plate. The description says they treat you like family lol, family doesn't mind if you eat a salad instead of pancakes! read more

We were a little misled with all the stellar reviews. Solid three stars because my hotdog took almost a half an hour to make and the cheese wasn't even melted although the waitress said that's why it was taking so long. My husband ordered the Reuben with potato salad but got the tater tot's instead. The potato salad tasted old and store-bought but apparently homemade. Me thinks this would be a great place for families with a lot of kids to feed as the menu was huge - which I'm always wary of. A basic menu with basic food if that's what you want. If you're looking for taste, keep looking. $11 for a hot dog is ridiculous, the Reuben was $12 and was in need of more meat. However, the restaurant was clean and the train going 'round and 'round gave us something to talk about while we waited for so long for them to make a sandwich and a hot dog with only a handful of tables to serve. read more

Four of us had breakfast at Tim's a couple days ago. We were quickly greeted and given a choice of tables. Our server promptly asked for our drink preferences and quickly returned with them and asked for our food order. As we all had not yet decided she said no problem...there was no hurry. And when we all had finally put down our menus she was immediately at our table to take our order. We ordered four different meals; one basic bacon and eggs, two different omelettes and a fourth dish I can't recall. All meals came quickly from the kitchen. All were hot with very generous portions and they were all perfectly prepared. My medium eggs were medium, my bacon was crisp and the hash browns were also perfectly done. This place had good service and the servers are nice and attentive my issue is the food for 13.99 for a burger and some tater tots I think that's kinda steep and the food overall is too oily . My friend got the rib special the rib itself was not falling off the bone juiciness it was ok the beans are good everything was mediocre at best . It is a quaint place in the middle of Orting. Alex was the server. He has a good sense of humor, very helpful and remains professional yet well spirited. The food was served nicely and properly hot. I had ham and eggs with hashbrowns, sausage gravy and an English muffin. The taste was very good. Not one of those run of the mill boring breakfasts. (Good fresh flavor). The price was average. This place is absolutely amazing!! Not only do they have a huge menu for all meals of the day, but they have the most amazing salad bar. The fried chicken is unlike anything I've ever tasted. 1st time going to Tim's Kitchen. The food was ok. We had the Fried Chicken Family Style Meal. They give you nice portions. The Chicken didn't have much flavor but their very large homemade Biscuits were awesome. Wish they offered some kind of Veggies (Salad would be nice) though with their meal instead of all starch.. We have gone to a couple locations with starkly opposite experiences. The Orting location was clean, great food, and attentive, friendly and professional staff. The Puyallup location on the other hand was completely opposite of that. The serving staff were very unorganized, The salad bar is good but a mess, so I had to request they restock, which they did do. Our waiter was unprofessional in manners using terms calling me "Dude" which as a women in her late 50's seemed odd. (I know it's common among younger people, but knowledge of when and where it's appropriate is needed. That is pretty much my impression of the place. It was a Friday night and I ordered the Prime Rib special which took 45 minutes to arrive. When it did arrive, our waiter started giving it to my husband. When we pointed out that the prime rib was for me, the waiter said, "Oh...well, it's usually the dudes that order this, my bad" It was a better bargain to order the large size which is what he was referring to. It made me feel awkward to of ordered it which is not a good look for them. We will continue to drive the extra distance to the Orting location where they have better table manners. My daughter-in-law recommended we take a little scenic drive to Orting. We arrived around lunch time so I pulled up my Yelp app and searched for restaurants. So many restaurants... but lots of 2-3 star reviews on them. Finally I clicked on Tim's Kitchen and saw a great rating, I liked the reviews, and saw some yummy-looking food. The train circling the upper walls of the restaurant was cute. The waitress was great and we loved the huge chicken fried steak that we shared. She also talked us in to having the warm peach cobbler.
