Pleasurable atmosphere, with quite music in the back ground with a small electric train running above the booths. Waitress was pleasant. A big Chimichanga Double Chili Cheese Dog, Fries, and Drink was around ten bucks. If your are in Orting and hungry, this is the place to try. read more

We went to Tim's when it first opened, and they were experiencing the usual hick-ups that come with a new place. Since then, they have become a wonderful neighborhood diner. The food is consistently good, and flavorful. I haven't made it through all of their varieties of hotdogs, because they usually have something on the daily special board that sounds delicious. Also, their salad bar is a perk you don't see much anymore. It has a lot of things to pick from, and it's well stocked. The staff is friendly, and they make you feel welcome. The best item on the menu is the chicken friend chicken. The chicken is crispy, and the country gravy is smooth and flavorful. Add a trip to the salad bar, and you'll leave happy. read more

This is definitely my favorite family restaurant in Orting. Great menu with vast breakfast, lunch, and dinner variety. Serious. So many menu items! That's my biggest problem with this place... deciding what to order. And everything I've had in the 5+ times that I've been there is delicious and very reasonably priced. Great for young kids because their is a little train that cruises elevated around the perimeter and it entertains them while waiting for the food. It's a pretty cozy ma and pa feeling restaurant with polite and courteous waiting staff and hosts. Good people in this part of the state. Really down home feel that is welcoming to all. read more

Worst service on Mother's Day. 12:30 reservations were made but waited 40 minutes to be seated after an employee gave our table away. Then waited until 2:15 for our food to arrive. We were told by our waitress everything was "made to order". Side note jack in the box or I hop makes their food to order too. No clear hostess, or front manager to speak with about our experience. My mom & I went to Tim's on a recommendation from a friend of hers. The atmosphere is homey, the wait staff personable. We were seated right away (Sunday evening, not quite dinner rush). We ordered the chicken dinner special knowing we'd need to take most of it home. Since they cook the chicken as it's ordered, it took a while before it landed on our table. The waitress did stop by a couple of times to let us know what was happening. The meal was - OK. The chicken, though hot and obviously right out of the fryer, was not quite done. It was pink at the bone and at the joints. The mashed potatoes were very good, the gravy was good, the cole slaw was average. The rolls were cold and chewy; not so great. I asked for 2 boxes to take our leftovers. The waitress brought one chicken-to-go box and 2 little boxes for the sides. She'd decided that's what we needed, but it wasn't. I was a bit irritated by that. I won't make a special trip to this place. I might go by if I'm in the area. read more

1st time in tims today for lunch. We really liked the food and the salad bar. We live in town and had never been because I like to have a good beer with lunch and originally they didn't have beer so we just never gave it a try. Really good service and like I said we love salad bars, we normally go to aversanos in sumner for theirs but now we don't have to. We will definitely make this a spot we come back to. read more

The negatives: rolls, eggs and Ranch at salad bar, mashed potatoes, and the chicken sandwich chicken was way too thin it was non existent. Overall our experience was ok but I wouldn't go back. OK. Nothing all that special with the food. A bit on the greasy side when it comes to the omlets and hash browns. The so called Belgian Waffel aren' really Belgian Waffel, but are regular shallow, small square pockets made in a round waffel maker out of some kind of heavy dark wheat dough. Not some thing to order really. Look up Wikapedia definition of Belgian waffel. The Original Pancake House is the place for authentic Belgian Waffel, and top of the line breakfasts. read more

Ok, so.....I've lived in this town for 30 years or so. Been thru so many new restaurant owners in this place. Went for lunch on a Thursday. It was busy with a church group. They were leaving as my party arrived. We waited too long imho for someone to seat us. No biggy. We waited too long imho for someone to come up and ask if we had given our drink order. No biggy. I asked for a Corona with Lime. They were out of lime. Ok, lemon would be fine. They were out of lemon. I don't like Corona without lemon or lime, just me, so I declined ordering a beer. Got water and cranberry juice. If I wanted a strawberry lemonade it would of been $3.89. Ok, kinda no biggy. Really wanted that Corona with lime/lemon but, no problem. Finally ordered what sounded good in this HUGE menu. 50 million items to choose. We agreed on Crunchy Chicken Parmesan Fettuccine. He tells us that with this order it included a salad bar so off we went to get salad while we waited for our order. Awhile later he comes back and says....."I"m sorry but we are out of Fettuccine." Ok, 3 items I have asked for, you guys don't have. No biggy I guess. Irritated slightly but hiding it well. I mean, worse things happen to people in life and i am blessed to be able to go to a Restaurant but reviews hopefully will help businesses to step up. So he tells us he can just put the chicken on a bun. We say ok. He leaves, we are still getting a salad. I pull a long blonde hair from the salad dressing. ....I go to our table and am eating the salad. He brings our chicken Parmesan on a small plate where the bun nearly wouldn't fit flat so now the sauce is all up on the side of the dish getting all on my hands. Then he comes over and says there usually is a charge for the salad if it's not with a meal deal but because we didn't have Fettuccine I didn't charge you. I stare at him with salad in my mouth.......The sandwich was gross. I chewed on several things that I wasn't sure what it was. Parts were chewy, stringy, and zero crunch on this CRUNCHY chicken Parmesan sandwich. It was dry and zero flavor. Here's the thing Mr. owner, you probably don't even care. Employees appeared to be arguing, perhaps I am wrong but loudly talking to one another. Then some customer was talking loudly with someone coming out of the Kitchen and there was some question about his bill. This was NOT a pleasant experience and like every other restaurant that has come and gone in that building, I tried to tell them too but they didn't listen and they closed their doors. You may think you're doing well and maybe you are I hope but if not, listen to a customer. By not having something as simple as lemon or lime, you lost 2 or 3 or 4 beer sales. By not having the Fettuccine and then even mentioning the gratuitous no charge on the salad, the salad where I pulled the hair out of and also where the tomatoes looked and tasted a week old you made us not want to eat and then the taste and presentation of the entree finished us off and made us realize we won't be back. You see how that works? The seasoned steak fries or whatever the heck they were, were greasy, soft piles of crap. When we got the bill for $54.00 for 3 people eating a lunch menu, drinking water, and a cranberry juice, a coke and how bad it tasted I knew I would not return. I understand me not coming back will not hurt you in anyway but I wonder how many others are giving you low scores or just never coming back? Clean up the darn place, put some character in it. It is BORING. Teach the damn cook how to cook and for god-sake.......who does the ordering? You could be so much more but you're choosing mediocrity. Oh btw, the bar is atrocious. I can't rate them for dinner or lunch, but this place serves phenomenal breakfast! Their pancakes are so good that we come back to visit every weekend, just to enjoy the breakfast food. It is a local, family-run restaurant, and the staff is exceptionally friendly. They are also very kid friendly. My son loves to watch the toy train that runs through the restaurant, it makes waiting for our food with a hungry 2-year old much more bearable (he calls this "the train place"). I highly recommend you try this restaurant, you won't be disappointed! read more

Tim's is a very good place to eat in Orting - the wait staff is always very friendly and the food is good. Orting doesn't have very many choices but Tim's can usually be counted on for a good dining experience - and my kid loves to watch the train go around the place. Just don't expect anything fancy going - it is a nice family atmosphere. read more

Right off the Foothills Trail in Orting, Tim's Kitchen is a terrific lunch stop. The chile, sandwiches and Cole slaw were all fresh and delicious. Service is friendly and helpful. What a difference a year makes, huh? Wow, did things take a serious turn for the worse here. My wife and I came back tonight for dinner and the food was revolting and prices ridiculously high - but the service was good. I had a French dip and "seasoned" steak fries, where the only seasoning on the fries was grease and the sandwich had the nastiest, fattiest, cheapest looking lunch meat, griddled nearly to death on a flat top. My wife attempted to have the chicken strip basket with a salad as the side, but wound up being charged for a one-trip salad bar with the $4 added charge for chicken strips. The salad bar was fresh, but the bacon under cooked and cold, and the chicken strips were so greasy they couldn't be finished. We also (stupidly, perhaps) ordered the "Loaded" Baked potato skins appetizer, which consisted of four greasy, obviously microwaved potato pieces with an occasional green onion piece, some hastily melted cheddar, and more of that wonderfully undercooked bacon. That's a bit far from "Loaded" for my tastes, especially when you're paying $8 or more. All told, we spent $40 (pre-tip) on food so far below standards I'm amazed that a small town like Orting can keep this place afloat. read more

This place is a geriatric wet dream. Salad bar, hot dogs, horned chili, flour tortillas, model trains, hints of racism in the menu... need I go on. They charge ten bucks for ball park frank hot dog creations that are composed with more store bought recognizable items in oldtimesy fashion. Everything you order comes with ranch. The PB marshmallow burrito earned it one star. A definite never come back situation. The service was good. She made the salad bar rules very understood. A wonderful, family-oriented restaurant! There is a train that circles the eating area and our children absolutely love to watch that while waiting for the food and also during the meal. The food is amazing and the menu has a great variety to please many pallets. My kids' favorite is the peanut butter marshmallow burrito! They also serve a number of chicken sandwiches, Polish sausages, and incredibly delicious fried chicken. The salad bar is my personal favorite and rivals Ruby Tuesday's. The food is always fresh and there's a great variety on the salad bar. We have visited Tim's Kitchen 3 times already and will definitely be a frequent customer! read more

The staff is wonderful and friendly! It's a nice clean restaurant with an almost perfect atmosphere. Perfection is lost because of the music. They play one fun oldies (50s-60s) song followed by horrible, horrible instrumental elevator/funeral music. If I come back it'll probably be for a to go order. Which ids awful because the wait staff is great. Just the idea of sitting in an elevator to eat kills me. It's said the music is the mom's choice. In this case mom it's not always right. She has great food but worse musical taste than my 90yr old grandpa. Time to put the music in someone's hands that is more capable. read more

Great Chicken-Fried Steaks .. definitely looking forward to going back and trying the Chicken-Fried Chicken and Fried Chicken. Mac and Cheese was good as well. The service was good, kind and quick. The only griefs I have is that its a little pricey. Extra $1.50 for a baked potato... a buck for a salad. The salad wasn't fresh enough either. We have been here a few times with my parents. My husband loves the CPR burger. He adds bacon. I got a sandwich that was a cross between a french dip and a pulled pork. It was good, but on the salty side. The deep fried pickles are always a win win. Everything is always so yummy. read more

We had the country fried steak which could have served three of us it was so large, and a breakfast stacker and smother. It was all really good, and the portions were huge. Waited about 5 minutes to even be seated with no greeting, so we seated ourselves. Then it took about 10 minutes for us to be greeted with a menu. Took them 15 minutes to come back and take our order. Then waited an hour and a half or so just to get our food that was absolutely terrible. Worst chicken fried steak I've ever had. read more

My husband and I have been to Tim's several times and the food has been pretty good, the service not so much. My husband placed a to go order and when he got home the order was incorrect, he drove all the way back to get the order corrected. He went in again a few nights later and was given a free meal based on the previous order being wrong. When he went back a couple of nights ago the owner actually confronted him in front of other customers and told him that the order was not wrong and he should not have been given any free food. The owner also yelled at the waitress that gave my husband the free meal. We were both really disappointed because there are not that many places to eat in Orting and you would think the owner would be a little more customer service oriented. I can tell you after that treatment we will not be going back. read more
