Unfortunately my experience here was one of the worst I've ever had in my life (seriously lol) Short story: Entrees came out one at a time 15 minutes apart: cold and wrong orderes, we had to beg for the drinks (water) we ordered at the beginning and they finally came after our meals were served. Clueless waiter. Bussers were a great help. Good luck if you go here, ur in for a confused circus. Long story: First, we put our name down and we're told there were about 7 parties ahead of us. The hostess explained they do not have servers for tables so they are seating based on the help they have, so the wait will be about 40 minutes. Understandable. We went inside to wait at the bar where there was ONE table taken. The rest of the restaurant was filled with empty tables. I had to go with my third choice drink as they did not have the ingredients to make my first and second choices. The bartender was very nice I will say, kudos to him. Over an hour goes by and we watch the hostess seat parties that came in after us. We ask the hostess about our table. She straight out tells our party of 3 that she simply forgot about us... how do you forget people on the list that you made and that are also already paying customers?? She seats us at an isolated table outside, no problem we are just happy to finally be seated. The hostess now explains that she has to go and search for someone to wait our table. 30 minutes goes by and we finally get a guy to take our order. We ordered 1 glass of wine, a water, & a cocktail. Another 30 minutes goes by and the waiter comes out with the glass of wine. At this point we don't let him leave as we are starving and just wanted to order some food. We ordered 3 entrees, one of which are snapper tacos. We also ordered a salmon sandwich where we were told that does not come with a bun... it's a sandwich. Im not sure at all what other dish the waiter was thinking of but we ordered straight off the menu where it says salmon sandwich (We cracked up at this). Mind you, the water & cocktail are still no where to be found. Time goes by and all of a sudden we have mahi tacos at our table. We inform the runner we did not order mahi tacos. 20 minutes later the waiter comes back out with the same mahi tacos and explains yes, it's true these are mahi tacos, do you want them? As I said before we are STARVING and THIRSTY and our patience is wearing thin, so the person who ordered the tacos agrees to take the wrong order just to get some food in her stomach. Welp, at this point the tacos are cold to the touch and unappealing. We do not want these tacos that we did not order in the first place and that are also now cold? 15 minutes after the sad tacos are brought to the table we finally get served the second entree we ordered. Now, we have 1 person who has nothing to eat thanks to the taco sitch, 1 person who has an entree while still no drink and 1 person who hasn't been served their entree ALSO without a drink. ANOTHER 15 minutes goes by and we get the third entree. At this point I beg the waiter for the water he never gave us. He still never. Brings. The. Water. I had to bother a busser for water- delivered minutes after I asked for one thank god. We left hysterically laughing at how horrible that experience was. This lone star goes to all the bussers at this place, they are the anchors of this establishment and also seemed like the only people who knew what they were doing. 10/8/2017 - Heard about Tin Fish from friends and decided to stop by. First I noticed the outdoor area perfect for those who want to enjoy the weather or bring their pup. The inside has a cool decor and reminded me of a place in Key West. Great extensive menu, it took us a while to order. We first ordered two Stella beers (draft), the server let us know that they just acquired their liquor license. After looking at the menu, we ordered the crab cakes as an appetizer. The crab cakes are pretty big, however, they are fried. They came out piping hot. They are pretty filling but we decided to order a few things. They have a variety of tacos. You can get a meal that comes with cole slaw and fries or you can order a la carte. I got one single mahi taco and we also ordered the mahi salad. There was so much fish I could hardly close the taco, it was absolutely delicious! I am glad the waitress suggested we blackened the fish on both dishes. Sherese (I hope I'm spelling her name correctly) was my server and promptly brought me a menu. Let me tell you, the menu is expansive! So many options I thought I was at The Cheesecake Factory for a minute! I ordered the Sunrise Lunch Special (a fried tilapia sandwich, coleslaw, french fries). I had to deduct a star due to my most recent experience. The food was still exceptionally good but the service was hor-ren-dous. We went to dinner on a Thursday around 7 with four adults and two kids. It was pretty busy inside and outside there were about four tables full but five four seat tables open. Instead of pulling the tables together to fit us all, the hostess made us wait about 30 minutes. Yes, we were so close to leaving after 20 minutes but we decided to stay since we had hungry children with us (and adults). I was hangry (hungry & angry) at this point, a good hostess would've done so right away. However, some good patrons that didn't get their food yet decided to move to a smaller table for us. That was sweet of them. Then we had the waitress with no personality help us. She got all our drinks but took a while to get mine since they didn't have red sangria. She just seemed annoyed since the moment she helped us. Then she took our orders, the food came out at a decent time, the food was amazing but she disappeared. The weird thing was, the restaurant wasn't busy anymore. Maybe she went to take a break? To make matters worst....... One of the adults didn't get his food at all. We were almost done with our food and he had to get up to find her to find out where his food was. Low and behold, she forgot to put his order in. So another ten minutes goes by, he got his food, but we were long finished with ours. She didn't come check to see if we liked our food, she didn't even apologize for forgetting. I didn't get her name but she had a European accent. The hostess was clearly a high school student with no experience. Since I've had great experiences before and the food is always spot on, I decided to just remove a star since I'm nice. She got the owner/manager because our guest that was with us decided to complain about the situation. The manager comped him his meal but was kind of condescending stating, "yeah, we suck, we forgot your food." We are grateful for that but come on now, this was a horrible experience so far. We don't need the extra attitude. Another cherry to the topping, the waitress gave us a hard time with splitting our check stating we would have to get up to go inside to pay half cash half card. What?! Never had an issue splitting checks elsewhere in this day and age. They either need to get a new waitress and train the hostess better or they might lose customers. Ok, back to the food. I got the kaboom shrimp taco with fries and cole slaw. That is the only reason why I didn't deduct more stars. Would I return? Sure. But it may be a while. I used to be a regular, maybe not so much now based on how our overall experience was. read more

Tin Fish has some great seafood and it is always very enjoyable. I was in the mood for a lobster roll recently and did a little research on pricing. TIN Fish was OVER $12.00 more expensive than a well known seafood place. I will return to Tin Fish and now I know what NOT to order. Next, their soup's are very inconsistent as far as availability. They are always out of soup selections and I have to go to a very well known fish restaurant if I am in the mood for conch chowder, clam chowder, or any other soup. read more

Been here several times and always pleasantly surprised. The location might make you expect something else but don't judge it by the strip center. Tin Fish has managed to turn itself in to a fun fresh seafood destination. The fact they have added a whole patio complete with live entertainment is a huge bonus. We were eight women celebrating a birthday on a Monday night and we felt like it was a weekend party. The service and the food were superb. We were treated like vips. We had great dishes. Tuna poke and the lobster rolls are awesome. Thanks to Joseph for the Delish dessert. It was worth all the calories and so decadent. I can't wait to come back and try the whole fish. Wow! The lightly fried whole branzino topped with an Asian ginger sauce was amazing. My mouth is watering just thinking about it days later. I did start off with their creamy stone crab bisque which I thought was too salty but husband really enjoyed it. Good thing he ordered the clam chowder because I enjoyed that so much more and he was nice enough to trade with me. The kaboom shrimp was awesome too. I love how everything is lightly breaded so didn't walk out of there feeling too heavy. The ambiance was perfect. I prefer these smaller restaurants because of it's more intimate setting. My hubby loved the seafood pasta. I tried to be healthy and got sautéed gator & frog legs with fried catfish... yes, I TRIED.. but should have just got sautéed frog legs because gator should always be fried and the fried catfish I felt like it was frozen product. Great local gem! The owner genuinely cares about the quality of his food and service. He checked on every table and upon hearing it was our first time he brought out samples of soups and their signature cod on slaw. Everything was fresh and delicious. We got the drunken mussels and clams (I think I could put the sauce on a shoe) . oysters, and the whole branzini with the Mediterranean sauce. Update: My first two visits here were amazing. In fact, the service could have been absolute shit and I still would have given 5 stars for the flavor and freshness of the food. I've visited here a few more times since, and things have gone very downhill. My third visit I decided to try the Gator Bites. I don't understand the hype for these. Much more expensive than chicken, but taste like chicken thighs. Didn't like the texture of them. For entree, I ordered the hot Lobster Roll as I always do. On a good day this is one of the best bites in the area. We waited a long time for the entrees to come. I mean a looooong time. Upwards of an hour. It wasn't even crowded. When the Lobster Roll finally came it was a huge disappointment. The flavor was mostly lemon juice. The lobster didn't taste fresh and the flavor of the hot drawn butter was non-existent, it was very watered down. It was pretty bad. Service from our waitress was AWFUL. Barely, if ever, checked in on us. Never mentioned anything about the egregious waiting time. My fourth visit was more of the same. Which was very discouraging. Service was lackluster and the flavor of the Lobster Roll was nowhere near as amazing as my first two initial visits. I will definitely return in hopes of the amazing Lobster Roll I grew so fond of. So....food was a five and the service a 2. However to be fair we had a group of 24 so your small group is likely fine. We called in advance so they knew we were coming. The grilled grouper and fried grouper was to die for. Kids fish and chips was a huge hit as were calamari and lobster tacos. It took over an hour to get our food and it didn't come at the same time. One kids order was missed. The food was excellent and every meal hot and fresh. So come in small schools to this local and you will not be disappointed. The atmosphere and ambiance here is incredible. The service is immaculate and they actually have a genuine concern for everyone's meals and make sure your food is perfect. I come here for the Oysters mainly and they always have a variety of them. Tin Fish consistently delivers excellent food and great service! We went last night after staying away during Covid and shared the fried calamari appetizer and the whole fried snapper with Pan Asian sauce. Both were absolutely delicious! Our server, James, delivered excellent service and we even got to say hi to the owner, Joe! Anyone who knows me also knows I am not exactly a fan of seafood. Yes, I'm a bad Floridian. So this place absolutely took me by surprise! A co-worker (in Miami, no less) told me about Tin Fish, and I figured it had to be pretty good for them to be willing to drive to Broward. I told my dad to meet me one weeknight evening, and was a bit taken aback at how busy the restaurant was! I put my name in for about a 20 minute wait, and enjoyed the live music playing on the patio. When we were lead to our table, Adina greeted us, followed shortly by none other than Joseph, the owner of the restaurant. It was refreshing to see a restaurant owner taking the time to talk with all of his patrons, and he came up a few times throughout our time here to make sure we were enjoying ourselves. When I saw hush puppies on the menu, I knew we had to order them for our appetizer. These did not disappoint! Perfectly crispy on the outside, yet fluffy and tender inside. From there, we ordered our meals: I chose the small fish and chips plate (comes with three pieces - more than enough - and crinkle cut fries), while my dad ordered a veritable fishy feast of snow crab legs, a fish taco, and blackened fish (for the life of me, I can't remember what kind of fish it was... maybe mahi?). Once our meals came to the table, our tiny 2-seater was overflowing with food. I asked for a LOT of lemon (I always do with fish, because I need to drown it), and was pleasantly surprised to see that they actually listened to me and brought plenty! I usually have to ask for more since most interpret my saying "a ton of lemon" means like 3 wedges. And perhaps the biggest shock for me: the fish was so good I used far less lemons than I normally do! You know it's really good when I don't have to eat a little fish with my lemon, which is my usual way of doing it :) Needless to say, my dad (a seafood lover) was raving about his meal. I took a bit of his fish and his taco, and liked both. His fish was perfectly seasoned, and came with a delicious lemon sauce. And although he's a tiny guy, he ate EVERYTHING. I remarked that I have literally never seen him eat as much in one sitting... ever. He said that he just had to keep eating even though he was full because it was all so tasty. It's been several weeks and he's still singing Tin Fish's praises... and really, he's a hard guy to please when it comes to restaurants. From the excellent food to the attentive service, I finally understood why this place was so jam-packed on a random weeknight. Don't even know where to begin. I don't remember the actually name of the dishes so I'll explain it for what they are, Tuna tacos, Grilled Salmon with Veggies, Octopus, Conch Fritters, Ceviche, Shrimp Pasta in a garlic oil and the Whole fried Snapper with the Asian style sauce... Everything was amazing!!!!!! We went with a group of family and no one had anything they didn't like. Everything was really good and the waiter was nice, especially the owner. The ONLY thing I didn't like was the red sangria I had but, we were there for the seafood and they didn't disappoint on that end. The Tin Fish is incredible. We ordered Fish sandwiches and jumbo shrimp diners with dessert. All this was takeout. A little confusion when we got there But our order was ready except they only had one piece of cheese cake. So I then ordered bread pudding and their chocolate cake. One of the girls had cut the carrot cake by mistake. The manager just gave it to us. So here we are with our diners and all of this dessert. All was so very good and service went beyond as they carried it all out to our car. Fantastic!! read more

We've been here several times before and usually enjoy our meal. This time we went during the week for lunch when they opened at 11. The specials board was not updated and we were disappointed to find out they did not actually have the oysters from Canada that were listed. While these oysters are over $50/dz they are worth it. First disappointment. Then we ordered the ceviche, which we have had several times before, but not the same this time. Very little fish and way too much julienned, not diced, green and red pepper. Second disappointment. Service was subpar especially since we were the first customers in the restaurant and it did not get busy while we were there. Third disappointment. Fried fish over coleslaw is always good and my son liked his kid's fried shrimp. Thank goodness I used the gift card I got for Tin Fish for Christmas during this visit because I dont think we will be back for a while. read more
