We were lucky enough to snag two seats at Lady Bird last night after their 2 year hiatus! This was…read moreour first time here and we loved every minute. The bread was incredible and the beet ricotta was so unique. I loved the salad which had an apple puree and blue cheese - flavors paired perfectly. The splin was excellent and the duck was good. We aren't huge duck fans but the duck leg and duck sausage were decent! Dessert had a great cherry flavor. Overall, super impressed by the food and top-notch service. Wine selection was excellent as well. Our only knock was that we were seated close to the door, so we had a few chilly moments! But worth it for this meal.

The only way to get a table is to book far in advance through Instagram. Also keep in mind everything I'm about to talk about below may never be on your menu as it's different every week. First course was a tartine featuring sardines, pickled fennel, and kalamata olives. A salty, but bright dish that finished with a subtle licorice spice. Second course was a lentil salad with cooked lentils, pickled celery, roasted fennel, lemon juice, goat cheese, and quick fried lentils on top to add a surprising crunch. My favorite of the courses. The acid from the lemon juice and the fat from the goat cheese was heaven on earth. Third course was a bouillabaisse of monk fish, pearl onions, and potatoes in a salty and savory, saffron tomato sauce topped with small dollops fresh aioli. Fourth course was an entire sole done so perfectly it melted in your mouth, covered in a lemon tarragon cream, and sprinkled with bread crumbs. Fifth course was a Paris-Brest filled with praline cream, spotted with sunflower seeds then dusted with powdered sugar. A very light and delicate end to a wonderful meal. This was more than just a dinner out on a Saturday night, it was an experience to be shared with your best friends or a romantic partner. My ONLY wish is for a wine pairing with each dish as an optional menu upgrade from the set price.

We also got the fried okra & the banana pudding for dessert. My chicken wings were top tier, & I have high standards when it comes to my wings, haha. When looking for good wings I love a dry rub & these had that w a unique flavor & were seasoned really well. At times I'd get a little hit of spice but overall savory & not spicy. It'd be awesome if it was an option to make them hotter for those of us that like that but again, they're delicious as is. They have a perfect crisp, the meat was cooked perfectly & they're good size wings & meaty, not full of cartilage or fat which I hate. The meat came easily off the bone too. My husband begged for some & we both will be going back for wings for sure. The fries it came with were great too. Nice & crisp on the outside, soft on the inside & seasoned well. The fried okra was good & I liked that they weren't too heavily breaded so u could taste the okra. My husband loved the gyro burger & he normally can finish his meal but it was so big he got two meals out of it. It's impossible to bite so eating some meat first is key. Lastly, the banana pudding was great & a large portion so again, we had leftovers of that too. I do recommend ordering pickup as it's a smaller place with a few tables & takes a while to cook certain menu items but again, was cooked perfectly & was hot & fresh. Also, the owner & her staff were super friendly & it gave a home cooked meal vibe. Our wait went by quickly with all the laughs & conversation. Looking forward to returning!

Gyro dinner with sweet potato fries was my main entree. That was so much of food, it will feed 2 or 3 people. I ordered pizza puff, but took home as the fist item itself was more than enough. That was a good one. I liked the milkshake as well. I went for Oreo cookie cheesecake as dessert. It was a lot of oreos and stuff. Probably that was good for 3 or 4 people.

Learned of this restaurant (more of a bar) when I saw them cook on a morning talk show a while…read moreback. Decided to give it a try and was highly disappointed. First flag, Saturday afternoon lunch (a little of a late lunch) but no one in the place. Waitress was nice, and the menu had all day breakfast along with lunch and dinner offerings. The specials on the wall added a number of choices too. We ordered a bowl of Chicken noodle soup to share, I had the Country Fried Steak (special on the board) and my wife had a cheeseburger and onion rings. First the good, the onions rings were great and the soup was better than average. Burger was okay, with a very good bun. What was disappointing? We ordered and our waitress disappeared until the food was done. We wanted our soup first (which is the way it should be served) but we couldn't find anyone to ask for it. Of course our food came out, and then we got the soup! My meal sucked! Everything was greasy....the hash browns, the eggs and the steak. I tried, but I couldn't eat it. Even the eggs that were supposed to be "over easy" were hard. The hash browns were a gray color and for some reason buried underneath the gravy covered County Fried Steak. Only thing good about my meal was the sourdough toast! Adding to the bad meal, which was actually funny, was that the wet naps they handed out with the meal were dry as a bone! How old do wet nap packages have to be to be dried out?! Prices were reasonable, but because I left most of my meal on my plate it wasn't too great of a value. Not a place I'd go back to.

What I love about this place is that the menu is constantly changing. Each day may bring something new, so come prepared for an adventure. Came a little before noon with a friend. It's a small place, with a few small tables and a couple larger ones for groups or seating strangers together. Lots of nice light coming through the large windows. Got seated right away with a couple waters (with lemon). And Joe (one of the owners), helped us settle and took our orders. The two entrees today were Blacked Mahi-mahi Tostada and Wagyu Beef and Summer Vegetable Bolognese. These both did not take long to come out. Both the perfect temperatures and excellent flavors. So good that you want to take your time and savior the complexity of all the flavors and textures. It's a gourmet experience in a casual environment. They sometimes run out of items, so get their early if you want to be sure to your first choice.
