Okay if you've ever been to Tina's you know its a good time. I love getting my nails done and this location is great near the Green Hills mall. Parking is slim but there are lots below the building. The nail color selection (for dip, gel and regular polish)is enormous, I never know what color to get! They usually never have a wait time. I usually always call in advance OR call and make an appointment - so much easier than doing a walk in BUT walk-ins are welcomed! The pedicures are great - they have different styles you can choose from that also range in pricing, this is the same for the manicure. I would say for Nashville pricing 45$ for a manicure is not too bad. Make sure you always tip! read more

I got my nails done here because it's next door to my favorite Starbucks. I had nails painted red to be festive. They came out somewhat mottled in color. I had them repainted. I very politely mentioned that I could still see those light colored spots. Stopped by Tina's for a last minute pre/vacay gel manicure because I couldn't get at my regular salon (who does beautiful Russian gel manicures that last 4+ weeks.) The lady using the drill nicked my skin at least 5 times (it hurt... really bad). When she was clipping my nails she was going half hazardly and nearly clipped my skin a few times. Not to mention the gel was not applied well & was uneven/dried on my skin + nail. It truly looked like a manicure I could have done at home... I just left & paid the $60 + 15% tip & kind of kicked myself because that is an outrageous price to charge for such poor service... and I really shouldn't have tipped at all. 3 days later I'm on vacation & half of my nails had already chipped- I called Tre at Tina's nails & he told me I could come in to get them fixed (however, I was out of town for the next 2 weeks and therefore I couldn't.). He told me he would offer me a free gel manicure - I said I'd rather just get refunded because I normally go elsewhere for manicures and I'd rather not waste my time with a gel manicure that only lasts 2-3 days... I said I would maybe come in for a gel pedicure & he said that's fine, just call and ask for me and I'll cover the charge. Flash forward and I am here today & they are still charging me $25 for a pedicure - even though the cost of a gel pedicure is only $5 more than what they originally charged for my gel manicure that was horrendous. I would NEVER complain about service, but when there are so many wonderful small businesses with amazing customer service - I will never spend a dime on this salon again. I've been going to Denay at Tina's for 4+ years now and couldn't recommend it more! Denay, as well as the rest of the staff, are always so wonderful and fun. There's lots of banter in the shop which always provides a good laugh ...even though I see some reviewers clearly didn't have a sense of humor to appreciate this aspect! The services are always top notch! Everything is very clean and comfortable. The massage chairs are fantastic and they work hard to mark sure you're comfy! Plus, it smells good - not like chemicals like many other salons. While I see Denay exclusively there are so many other wonderful technicians to pick from. So go on and treat yourself. The nail technicians and greeter/- assistant we're very nice. I like my nails and was very relaxed. I did not appreciate the words and tone of the male supervisor toward the assistant. He was snippy and sarcastic and in front of a customer too. I should have said something at the time. He needs to be more respectful or needs to go. I'll go back but will speak up if I see anything out of line. I hope the assistant will speak up. She looked uncomfortable and that is no way to work. Like bullying. It's not funny. Work is hard enough without that. He needs to apologize to her and watch his attitude. read more

I have been coming to this nail salon for years since I was in school at Belmont! Not only is it a beautiful space, but the people make it extra special. I was in Nashville for a business trip. I stopped in Tina's Nails for a pedicure and shellac manicure. This was the most expensive shellac manicure I have ever had ($40!!) and it lasted only 6 days before 3 nails have the polish lifting off in one whole sheet like a press on nail. I waited right at an hour to even be able to get started, and they were not super busy just short staffed for a weekend day. The nail tech was nice and did what appeared to be a good job but I am very disappointed that for as much money as I spent I'm not having to go somewhere else when it should have lasted at least 2 weeks. Very disappointed lately. I used to love this salon, I will no longer be going back. Went last week for a pedicure, the buffer was covered in powder (other people's skin) they don't use sanitized equipment. My toes already look like crap and Pedis usually last forever. Went yesterday for shellac manicure. I am so dissatisfied. This manicure was for my birthday and my nails look like I did them. In Nashville from out of State today. Stopped here for powder dip. The ONLY reason that I gave this salon 3 stars is due to the friendliness of the staff. Otherwise, I suggest you utilize a different nail salon. Don't get fooled by the granite countertops & decor. Visually, there was NO barbicide or other disinfectant liquids. My nail tech even started using material to cut his own nails/skin. Then, he threw it back in the drawer, yuk! I'm so glad that they only did my powder dip which was also problematic because they're unsanitary. My powder dip was a sloppy job. They did not due a manicure, just the dip for 45 bucks! Then, the nail tech wanted to drill my clear polish off of my nails instead of using nail polish remover! Who does that mess?? I had to tell him not to drill my nails at all, but to just wipe it off with remover (duh)! Lastly, the polish did not dry correctly. Parking is an issue. Even with an appointment, leave early to find a parking space. read more

I am here now with a pedi starting at 6:04pm based on a 5:30pm appointment. Should have seriously taken heed to the reviews. And I thought long and hard. I got there at 9:20 on Sat as they did text me back and say they open at 9:00. It was about 3 customers and initially I felt ok. When I showed them what I wanted they said they could not do it. Then the lady said well the one that can do it (Tran) said no. So I said fine just do the stones she said no we don't have that. I said what are these pictures you have on your website advertising your work. That's what I'm requesting she just shook her head no. So fine moving along to manicure I got that but geez I asked for square she said too short has to be round WHAT!!!!! Tell me that prior so I skipped the polish and she gave me $49 bill. We have always loved this place until today. We walked in an hour before they close for two basic pedicures and they turned us away. We were able to find several other places in town with just as good/or better service to accommodate us at 5 pm on Sunday. If they had been crowded or provided us with an explanation at all I would be more understanding. But, we were just told they weren't accepting any one else when they didn't close for another hour. My toes needed some serious work when I went in, so I am very impressed with how great they look now. Nice massages for mani & pedi alike. Warm towels, free drink, and my tech didn't spend the entire time gossiping with coworkers, which is rare nowadays. So I tried Tina's Salon for Nails because I was sick of sitting in traffic on Hillsboro Pike. haha. I had all intentions to go to Signature Nail but turned into the wrong plaza! ha. There were a handful of other guest in there. I was helped right away to my pedicure chair. There was a 'hostess" who offered me a drink and asked what time of pedicure I would have. There were 5 or so to chose from from $28-$65! A few minutes later my 'nail tech' came out of the backroom to begin the pedicure. As more guests came in, more and more techs came from the backroom. (I wonder what they're doing back there while waiting?) The spa we pretty clean but I wouldn't say spotless. I loved how quiet it was but with the 12 pedicure chairs they have I could imagine this place isn't always so peaceful. The chair was new, and the massage mechanics were intense. My nail tech didn't talk to me much..or at all. There were a lot of men getting pedicures an manicures. I dont have a problem with that, but I wonder if that is like their 'specialty" all these green-hills guys had their ipads out and their feet up! funny. The price for the pedicure and french tip was $30.00. I was pretty happy with it, but did notice one nail that was sorta wrong but it was a $30 walk in pedicure. My expectation wasn't too high. ON THE WHOLE: NOT GOOD. FOLLOW UP: went back in for the polish change (that I paid $5 extra for) (see below) and was told that for the french (which I still had on my nails from the original mani) would be ANOTHER $5. he left polish on the edges of 9 of my fingers. another nail tech was walking around w/out any shoes on. I WILL NOT GO BACK HERE. THE DOWNSIDE -the top coat they apply is soo thin. nails should look glossy when dry (unless you specify matte finish), I could SEE the layers of nail polish -the towels they use are blue and look SO OLD and thin and have stains. -the massage part of the mani/pedi simply meant applying lotion - and soo much lotion that it just felt wet and gross. -i suggest taking your polish outside to see the color in natural light - I had NO IDEA i had selected NEON pink until I walked out the door. it looked coral...Signature has a MUCH broader selection of brands and colors. Tina only had 1 rotating rack and it was all OPI and China Glaze. -if you want hooker-style french tips, this is your place. the white shoudl only be the tip of the nail (the part that EXTENDS byond your finger). she kept applying it deeper so I looked like I had stubby fingers. (granted, she was pleasant about making them shorter from the nail bed up when I asked). the white is SO BLASTING white I feel like I should be in a risque movie or something.....and then rather than applying a slightly sheer pink on top, she applied a clear coat SIDEWAYS (yes, sideways from left to right across my nail. who does that?). a quick thin top coat and that was it. (I applied 2 coats of essie mademoiselle when I got home, followed by a proper top coat and now they look ok.) -before going, I called and asked about pricing for a french mani and a pedi. the girl i spoke to responded as if she'd never been asked such a bizarre question. twice she had to ask someone else in the background.\ THE UPSIDE: - my nail tech was super nice and the whole place was spotlessly clean. they just need higher quality products and a lesson on how to give a mani/pedi. -another positive is that for $5 extra, they'll let you come back in a week later for a polish change. I went for that, so we'll see how it goes upon my return.. -and they offer you the disposable nail file and little buffer that they used for your nails. (or maybe she didnt use it? not sure. either way she gave me a little travel like size one which was cool) I went as a walk in because I was unhappy with the mani I got at Signature the last few times I'd been....now I'm not sure where I'll go...? read more

I wish I could give this place a 3.5. The biggest issue I had with Tina's is the wait. They would not take reservations and so we walked in around 4pm on a Sunday. I was with 5 other friends. Two girls went for a pedicure and they were immediately taken care of. The other 3 girls and I sat and waited for about 45 minutes to an hour before someone came to see us. We picked our color and then one by one some came and took care of us. Granted, it was a Sunday afternoon and apparently they were short staffed but they failed to inform us how long we would be waiting. I got a regular manicure and UV gel. There are an overwhelming amount of colors to choose from. My technician was friendly and kind and did a great job on my nails with the exception of a bubble on my right thumb. At the end of it all, I was very satisfied with the end product. read more

I miss the no-frills places I used to go in Atlanta. $30 for a manicure with the hot oil treatment (aka, oil rubbed onto my hands and forearms) that chipped two days later. They didn't even look very good after they were finished--there were bubbles and the paint next to my cuticles was very uneven. I'll tell ya, I'm used to paying closer to $10 for a manicure. Those didn't include the fake flowers, tacky decor columns and a glass of wine (who wants that at 10am anyway?). But in Green Hills this is the standard. Hearing the women working discuss how they spent $100+ out at dinner the other night while watching my (very nice) woman not correctly polishing along the cuticle! Reading the reviews....... And not having a nice place to get my pedicure in East Nashville... It sounds like most of us are at a loss for a good, quality place that is reasonable and wants return customers. We don't have a good nail salon on the east side, so friend and I drove to Green Hills in search of a place we could visit regularly. This is the first salon you see, when you come up from 440 on Hillsboro Pike. Made a quick left into the parking lot, drove around until we found a parking spot. Went in as walk-ins. Friend wanted tips, I wanted a pedicure. Place is clean. Utensils are packaged and sterilized (I hope). Lots and lots of chairs.. Not a whole heck of a lot of technicians. Sign in window said, "Hiring." I wasn't thrilled with the job done on my feet. Heels were still rough. Could have used a REAL good sanding. Massage was brief. ( I usually tip VERY well, when the massage is good.) Friend paid $60+ for her gel tips, polish and whatever else they talked her into. I paid $28 for a simple pedicure. On the east side, same pedicure is $23 but still lacking quality. Where are the good nail technicians? With all the glitzy women that roam Nashville, SURELY there's got to be a fabulous salon that we can all frequent for quality preening..... It seems quality is scarce --- especially on the east side. I guess we'll all keep looking for that fabulous nail salon and when we find it, we will scream it from the highest mountain top in Nashville.... But for now..... this one is just as mediocre as the rest of them. As a side note, they did offer me a cold water bottle or a glass of wine. That was a nice touch. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Four days later..... nail polish has worn off the edges.... I haven't worn closed in shoes since winter...... so it wasn't shoes that wore the nail polish off the edges... It must have been put on with one coat? Thin coat? and I've taken sandpaper to my heels to smooth down the dry skin. I do not recommend this place for pedicures. You will be disappointed. It's not top notch. read more
