First time having Peruvian food. My favorites were the beef empanadas and Peruvian bread, and fried plantains. A great little mom & pop neighborhood business. The bakery items looked terrific. Need to come in early morning.

Flavor town!!!! The atmosphere is casual service is friendly and attentive and the ceviche was the best! Fresh fish, perfect texture, and great salty citrus flavors that I wanted to put in a glass and drink! Accompanied by the crunchy corn and plump corn sides. The calamari was beyond flavorful it was fried in batter and had a nice spice to it. I wish I didn't live so far I would go here all the time. The staff loved the food too you can tell by how they were so excited to serve it to you. Lots of love in this food.

This place is a gem. Knew it as soon as I walked in and saw how crowded the place was. The chicharron sandwich was great as well as the tamale and the beef stew. Good vibes and quick service. Highly recommend for good Peruvian food.

Amazing Peruvian food, and great Customer service. I had the breakfast special and was enough food to share.

Honestly, this was not it. I got a vegan pasta with tofu and tomatoes. It was so plain. Not worth it at all. It's nice that it's like a mom and pop shop, but not it for a vegan. My family likes this place, but as for me, I will not come back. My order was to go, and my brother picked it up, so i didn't get to see the shop nor interact with the staff, so i cannot rate that part

My favourite thing to get here is the beef empanadas! They are perfect for a snack or when you don't want something too heavy but they are filling! The green sauce is great but sometimes it's a bit too sour. Recently went there again and still love the empanadas! The price has gone up but that's to be expected in todays' environment. Still, this place is super casual so no need to dress up! And service is good, nice people!

    Coffee

I just swing by for some coffee. However, the service is pretty good, the servers also bring me a sample of their cake. Also, the music and decorations is pretty good.

A solid spot for Peruvian food. I would definitely take advantage of their lunch special; it seems like a pretty great deal. The inside is very mom and pop like, but also very clean. Food wise it's nothing too mind blowing. The beef was a bit dry; ceviche was solid. They have a lot of desserts and I'm excited to come back and give those a try. Service was a bit slow, but it wasn't too bad. FYI: sadly Yelp check ins down really apply here.

Delicious post theater/early dinner. Service was kind, helpful and fast. Tables were plentiful, but filled quickly for the dinner rush. Menu was extensive. Felt very much like a neighborhood spot with lively Peruvian music playing. Arroz con Camerones was our favorite dish, but all the dishes were tasty. We were too stuffed for dessert, but we will be back.

Stumbled upon this place while visiting a church and decided to give a try. Coming from New York where there is amazing Peruvian food, I was curious to see how this place would add up. Immediately upon entering I got a very authentic homey vibe. It was around lunch time and the place was moderately packed. Based on the interactions with the servers and the guest I could tell some of these guests had been here time and time before. The service was great, our waiter introduced us to something I've never tried before. It's made with purple corn (literally purple corn, she actually brought one out to show us) however it taste nothing like corn. It's called Chicha morada. It's not too sweet and really good. However my favorite was the half and half mix between the morada and their passion fruit drink. That one is called Maracuchicha and it's divine! The food was good, well flavored and quite enjoyable. I usually order the lomo Saltado when I visit a Peruvian rest. so I got the chicken instead of steak. I prefer the steak. It captures the flavors better and is less dry. Nonetheless, if I'm in the area I'll def be back.

Fortunately, if you're not dining in, ordering from the to-go line is very quick, and there's even a comfy seating area in the front where you can enjoy your food and beverages. In addition to a double shot espresso I ordered, I also got a broccoli mac and cheese croissant. The croissant was expensive ($7.50), but it's hearty enough to be a meal. I wasn't offered an option to toast up the pastry, but I didn't particularly mind the coldness of the mac and cheese component of the pastry. The croissant surrounding the filling was flakey with nicely laminated layers. Meanwhile, the filling was satisfyingly salty and rich. Although the pastry was tasty, it's probably something I would only try once -- rather than something I would get regularly, due to how heavy the pastry ate. Overall, if you're looking for skillfully prepared, creative pastries, La Casita Bakeshop definitely fits the bill.

The one thing that freaked me out was I did see a bad bug in the place and notified the cashier. They were able to squash it but it did ruin my appetite a bit. I know these things happen but I hope that it isn't a bigger problem. My friend to go'd a delicious cake that was seasonal and it was beautiful and delicious. She got another dessert that was a bit heavy for our liking that was also seasonal but the flavors were still good.

There's two phone numbers on the door. I called the top one (972-815-7560) which was written more clearly. A lady answered, and we spoke a mix of mediocre Mandarin and mediocre English. (The reviews say they speak Cantonese.) She said my order of a dozen would take 30-35 min, $35, cash only. I set an alarm and napped in the car. After 40 min, I stepped into the store and greeted Dragon Mak (who now appropriately looks decades older than his photo on the wall). As we waited for the egg tarts to finish baking, we chatted in broken Mandarin about how his wife passed away 6 months ago, how much it cost to bury her, how much it cost to purchase his nearby home decades ago, how he used to live in the Houston Chinatown and how affordable it was back in the day...
