Anywhere I can go and get a meal and two drinks for $20 is an instant gem. Both bartenders I chatted with were super cool. The music was all over the place thanks to the TouchTunes and there was some solid variety throughout the evening. I wasn't mentally prepared for the chili burger to come sprawled out over a plate needing a fork and knife, but it hit the spot. Not sure why I've not been in before but will happily put this in the rotation downtown.

My favorite Washington State Bar. Local dive bar with daily food specials, kept clean, outside patio, location is perfect, music is continuously playing and the volume level is perfect, plenty of TV'S with sports always on, drinks are strong and less expensive than most other near by bars and restaurants. Plenty of singles to mingle with as meeting people, small talk, making new friends or meeting old friends there is encouraged and easy to do. Clientele on any given day is eclectic from no collar laborers or unemployed to blue collar middle class professionals to white collar wealthy Executives to Millionaire self employed with both "old" money and "new" money. Age range is consistently pretty equal numbers of 20 somethings - 60 somethings. Mostly single people with some couples. I wish I lived closer but regardless of only being able to visit the area for a few weeks every year some of the bartenders and locals recognize me everytime and make me feel like I'm at home. Best time to visit is in the summer during the Vancouver Cruise where families come out and gather along the streets, each restaurant on the strip (main street) are featuring outdoor seating and rocking the tunes from noon to late night that area is one of the busiest, happiest, friendliest and most fun places on earth

Came here to listen to music with some friends. Unfortunately the artist had sound issues so they didn't have any mic's which made it hard to hear and enjoy. When ordering food, I asked to order a vegetarian burger on their menu which they said they no longer carry. So my only option was fries and mozzarella sticks. Not a great dinner option for a vegetarian.

First time in, This place was amazing, it's Cheers, where everybody knows your name. Seriously, I saw several people come up to order and were called by name, Now let's talk about the food, it was Taco Thursday .75$ I couldn't decide which was better, I had the crunchy &Soft, tried the Soft & Crunchy tacos, Then one at a time, they were delicious, But they have more on the menu, from burgers to breakfast, fish tacos on Friday, 2 for 7$. Specials every day.

Came I again today for lunch and a cold one. Jessica serves up some of the coldest beers in town with the burst customer service in town. I got the grill cheese and fries for a whopping $9.00. Not a bad deal huh? The shots here are killer too. I have been coming here on sundays to watch nfl football games and the breakfasts are really good too. They got all the games on as well. Go check it out.

Locally owned and patronized dive bar with a "f*** COVID* attitude, keeping the party going all night (well, until 2am), unlike most places that have reduced their hours (for some incomprehensible reason). Like most bars of its caliber, here's what to expect: cheap beer by bottle or tap; cheap food loaded with carbs and calories; stiff but uncomplicated drinks and cocktails; rowdy locals; and an increasingly party-like atmosphere, as the clock ticks closer and closer towards last call; bartenders that know their sh*t, and can crank out drinks at blinding speed, in order to quell the swelling masses, lest they be crushed by the oncoming tide. All this, plus an outdoor patio for socially-distanced dining (yeah right!); a pleasant place to sit and work toward exacerbating the hangover you know you're going to have when you wake up. Hey, it's your fault! You ended your night at Tip Top! Few places in Vancouver both encapsulate and embrace the "Vantucky" reputation that we've been labeled with better than Tip Top Tavern, and I say this with all affection and reverence.

A great bar where everybody knows your name. Bartenders are the friendliest and attentive as any bar you would go into. Highly recommend.

They are a scratch kitchen, meaning everything is prepared in their kitchen and it's noticeable. We ran into the chef and he said they make everything but "the bread and the ketchup!" For lunch, we had the meat lover's pizza (real pieces of bacon) and ceasars salad (with an actual anchovy) - both delicious. At breakfast, we got the benedict and spinach mushroom omelet that came with incredible potatoes (trying to figure out how to replicate these!) Also got a side of bacon, which was melt-in-the-mouth good. Super tasty. We only had breakfast and lunch, but we were very happy and would come back in a heartbeat. Every server was incredibly friendly and solicitous, checking in on us with Goldilocks frequency (i.e., just right). Prices were also reasonable and, if this isn't enough for you, how would you like a view of the river while you dine?!? There is a lovely patio but you don't have to sit outside to enjoy the view.

The area has developed quickly and having grown up nearby and moved away years ago, it's amazing to see what's happened along here. Prices - well, everyone has their hand out along here. We were in town somewhat last minute staying at Hotel Indigo. The hotel provides $10 drink coupons so we decided to drop in for an impromptu drink while planning our dinner strategy. It was already 7p so no view but live music and a nice buzzy ambiance. Wait staff were fast and friendly, and before we knew it two delicious cocktails were in front of us. At the same time, I overheard the waitress at the table beside us saying that food could be ordered from El Gaucho downstairs. So we asked for a menu and started perusing. If you don't know El Gaucho it's a classic steak restaurant with lots of cuts and sizes, a sprinkling of seafood, the usual salads, and tableside this and that. A notch above Ruth's Chris, Morton's or The Capital Grille but with Peter Luger Manhattan prices. Yes, that's right, Manhattan prices in Vancouver. WA. The Couv is all grown up. Or at least trying to be, Like Witness Tree, El Gaucho has a mandatory 20% gratuity regardless of party size. Theoretically this shouldn't be an issue if you know restaurant culture and tip appropriately but I think a mandatory fee rubs many wrong to assume service will always be at that level. And on top of very high prices. A $72 6oz filet is $86, so those 8 bites better be damn good. That said, we ordered oysters, a filet, seafood pasta, and wine. The wine list was decent but not as extensive for a premium steak restaurant. Wines had the typical markup which meant $20-35+ per glass. Both the pasta and steak were good but - and this may sound picky - at $72 for 6 ounces of steak (a bar of soap) I expect perfection which means medium rare throughout. The steak was medium in some parts. If I can achieve medium rare throughout at home it should be possible here. So here's the math (rounded) for those interested. Total bill: $295. $225 food and drinks, $45 service fee (mandatory 20%), and $24 tax (8.8%). Interestingly, the 20% service charge is taxed which means we actually paid $49 or 28.8%. Had I been given the choice of my own 20% tip it would be applied to food and drink and a slightly lower bill. Not a huge deal but these are the little details - call it "nickel and diming" patrons - that rub many wrong. One note - another server came to our table before our food arrived and placed a steak in front of me. Before he could place the other dish I told him it wasn't our order. He picked up the steak and delivered to another table. In most restaurants - and certainly in a premium setting - that dish should have been remade. Whether perception or simple hygiene you simply can't do that. All in all, the Witness Tree was a nice spot, with tasty cocktails and ambiance. Prices and service fee will be off putting for some, and not sure this would be my go-to as there are many rooftop / view options nearby.
