My Experience at Tip Top Too I visited Tip Top Too around 8 PM with friends to play ping pong and have a drink. I had only one drink and had been there a short time when I was asked to leave by security, a short, bald-headed man with tattoos, while my friends, who are white, were allowed to stay. This unequal treatment made me feel singled out and discriminated against, creating a deeply uncomfortable and unwelcoming experience. Security Reflects the Business If this security guard is intended to represent the business, he is failing to uphold a professional and inclusive standard. Patrons should never feel judged, treated unfairly, or removed based on appearance, race, or ethnicity. Such behavior reflects poorly on the establishment as a whole. Pattern of Biased Behavior After reviewing other customer experiences, it is evident that minorities have faced similar treatment at this location. This points to a pattern of biased behavior, not an isolated incident, which raises serious concerns for both patrons and management. Personal Consequences Because of this experience, my friends and I will not be returning, and we will not refer anyone else to Tip Top Too. I strongly urge management to immediately review security practices, implement proper training, and ensure that every guest is treated with fairness and respect. For Owners and Authorities I am posting this review not only to inform other patrons but also to bring attention to these concerning practices for regulatory and discrimination authorities in Washington. Cheap, divey bar But here is what I noticed, take it for what you will. I'm black. I go in alone and sit at a table, every wait staff passes me by. Anywhere I can go and get a meal and two drinks for $20 is an instant gem. Both bartenders I chatted with were super cool. The music was all over the place thanks to the TouchTunes and there was some solid variety throughout the evening. I wasn't mentally prepared for the chili burger to come sprawled out over a plate needing a fork and knife, but it hit the spot. My favorite Washington State Bar. Local dive bar with daily food specials, kept clean, outside patio, location is perfect, music is continuously playing and the volume level is perfect, plenty of TV'S with sports always on, drinks are strong and less expensive than most other near by bars and restaurants. Plenty of singles to mingle with as meeting people, small talk, making new friends or meeting old friends there is encouraged and easy to do. Clientele on any given day is eclectic from no collar laborers or unemployed to blue collar middle class professionals to white collar wealthy Executives to Millionaire self employed with both "old" money and "new" money. Age range is consistently pretty equal numbers of 20 somethings - 60 somethings. Mostly single people with some couples. I wish I lived closer but regardless of only being able to visit the area for a few weeks every year some of the bartenders and locals recognize me everytime and make me feel like I'm at home. Best time to visit is in the summer during the Vancouver Cruise where families come out and gather along the streets, each restaurant on the strip (main street) are featuring outdoor seating and rocking the tunes from noon to late night that area is one of the busiest, happiest, friendliest and most fun places on earth read more

Came here to listen to music with some friends. Unfortunately the artist had sound issues so they didn't have any mic's which made it hard to hear and enjoy. When ordering food, I asked to order a vegetarian burger on their menu which they said they no longer carry. So my only option was fries and mozzarella sticks. Twice in a row we've had issues with the older blonde bartender. A few weeks back, she made a huge deal about our friend's drivers license because it was beat up, to the point where she refused to serve her. Last night, she charged more for the second round of the exact same drink order as the first, except one of the drinks was served in a shorter glass this time. Not only that, she copped an attitude because I gave her a fifty. There's so many better options on the block and plenty of other dives to be enjoyed downtown. I can't say enough good things about Jessica at Tip Top Tavern. She's the kind of bartender who doesn't just serve drinks -- she creates an experience. Every time I came in, she made me feel welcome, remembered my name, and knew just how to make the day fun. Her energy, kindness, and ability to bring people together completely changed my view of what a great bar should feel like. In fact, I ended up moving to Vancouver, Washington because of how amazing the vibe was when she was behind the bar. That's how much of an impact she had on me. Jessica made Tip Top feel like home. Came I again today for lunch and a cold one. Jessica serves up some of the coldest beers in town with the burst customer service in town. I got the grill cheese and fries for a whopping $9.00. Not a bad deal huh? The shots here are killer too. I have been coming here on sundays to watch nfl football games and the breakfasts are really good too. They got all the games on as well. Have been here before with no problems. Walked in and waited at the counter. Bar tender, female / dark straight hair / petite, ignored me at the bar counter. She then asked for my ID, which is no problem. I pulled it out to provide. She looked at my drivers license. Which is a completely valid ID, showing I am over the age of 21 and not expired. She then decided after looking at it for a few minutes that she "could not accept it". I have NEVER had anyone deny my ID in any state. I have also been in this bar many times with no issues. The lady working was quite rude. Was really just going in to get a burger ( which I have done tons before / my bf works at the shop next store ) will not ever return. Also will no longer refer any clients to this establishment. Your bartenders need training on attitude. Next store is hungry Sasquatch where you can get good food and service! Brick house down the road also has a great atmosphere, fantastic food, and FRIENDLY STAFF. They also accept driver's license ID's. read more

Have been here before & never had a problem till today. She didn't acknowledge that we were there no hello welcome or anything. She then told us that they would not accept our id because it was vertical. It's a valid id, we are both over 21 & both ids have watermark. Then when we asked why they were not kind nor explained why she would not accept it. Will not return. read more

I have gone to this bar twice in the past 5 months, and every time the bartenders are extremely rude and not friendly one bit. They get an attitude when you are simply choosing what you want to drink. They yell at you if you are In their way, when the area between the bar top is extremely tight not allowing you to move out of the way. We went recently and they told us they were only accepting cash. Then got mad because we were not aware of this as they only had one small sign in the door, which was not seen because the bouncer had the door open covering the sign. When realizing they only took cash and only had a few bucks on me, I asked "how much would a coors light be" she looked in disgust and said I don't know. Then when my boyfriend asked which ciders they have, she rolled her eyes and said read the board ( we didn't see a board) we were polite and nice and still received rude service. read more

Tip Top is my favorite dive! The drinks are cheap and strong and tasty. The service is fast, and the burger is better than it has any right to be. It's not particularly trans friendly, but that's due to the patrons not the staff. read more

Not a huge fan of this bar but my friend's enjoy it so I'll stop by and meet them every once in awhile because I enjoy the bar next door. Staff is not friendly, drinks are not that great, the bar has such a weird and unpleasant smell to me and the woman's bathroom is so tiny. They do have games inside and I saw that they do game/trivia nights there but have never been to one. They also have our door seating which is good for summer nights. Entered bar, bartender rudely greeted me with a condescending tone, "you look like you're having trouble with your ID." I have no idea why she greeted me rudely, but she did. I handed her my ID which I had no issue finding... again, I have no idea why she greeted me in such a way. When inspecting my ID she said, "Texas huh? Just to let you know your ID expires this year... it's good to know this before it happens." In my opinion she was implying that I was using an ID that did not belong to me, so I told her that I found her service to be tacky and I left. She made further snide comments as I exited. We love this place!! The wife and I went our second time and it was so nice to have the same experienced server/ lady wait on us on Sunday morning. The menu is priced right. It's not pretentious, it's well lit, nice air movement and a lot of TV's for whatever you are looking for on a Sunday morning. I only wish I knew her name to credit for a nice breakfast. And she was running her ass off with a smile. When we left she said nice to see you again. She probably sees a lot of people but I really felt like she was genuine saying that. If I could give a 0 star or even negative stats, I would. Jessica the bartender was the rudest bartender I've ever encountered. My friend and I wanted to pop in for a quick drink in celebration and regretted even walking in. She tossed us menus, when asked if they had any specials going on or any recommendations, she laughed in disbelief and rudely said "2 fish tacos for $". From the second we walked in we felt extremely unwelcome. In retrospect we should not have stayed and should have just walked out after that interaction. She was not only rude to us, she was extremely rude to the girl who ordered after us. That poor girl was shocked beyond disbelief and kept her head bowed until she was done with her transaction with Jessica. She proceeded to take our order and asked me what side would you like but did not express there was a charge for sides and when I asked her about the charge she yelled out it's right there in black and white all you have to.do is read it. I've been here a handful of times now and the bartenders are always extremely rude. I understand it gets really busy but no one who works here seems equipped with customer service skills to handle a busy bar. If you're not a local white male over 50 don't waste your time. Jessica was extremely RUDE and DISCRIMINATORY from the moment we walked in the door. She has horrible communication skills, immediately yelling to respond to a simple question...although getting pretty quiet when someone in our party met her energy and raised their voice to respond to her. She demonstrates bully behavior, and from previous reviews it appears that this is typical. The pizza restaurant (Thirsty/Hungry Sasquatch) next door has great pizza and drinks, and arcade games, spend your money there instead. read more
