Took my car for oil change, tire repair and rotation. Picked up car and the error message was still there. The counter person checked tires said they were good. A week later received same dash light that my tires were low pressure. Husband checked tires and discovered the same tire was low. He marked the tire and it was in same place. So it was obvious they didn't fix tire or rotate them and I paid for this service. When I went back the guy told me he'd give me an appointment. I wanted it fixed then and he was real nasty to me. If zero stars were an option, this place would get it. I had tires shipped to The Tire Choice #1050 and scheduled an installation appointment. When I arrived, I was told there were no technicians available--at my appointment time. No call, no message, nothing. I rescheduled for two days later and even left work early to make it. This time? The tire machine was "broken." Again, no notice. Trying to retrieve my tires was just as bad. I had 8 tires shipped (for two vehicles), and the staff couldn't even locate them properly. I had to show my invoice before they bothered to look again. It took another 5-10 minutes to find the rest. Throughout both visits, employees were on their phones and completely disengaged. The shop itself felt disorganized and poorly run. To top it off, their install quote was higher than other local shops--and nowhere near worth the hassle. Complete rip off. I dropped y daughter car off last night for an oil change and tire repair because her left tire has a leak. So they called me 30 minutes before they closed saying the car was ready for pick up. They said they couldn't find a leak and they just put air in all the tires and changed the all. Cool so I go to pick it up and to pay but I asked to see the paperwork. The paperwork said all the tires were at 20 and above. I know for sure her front passenger tire was at 10 cause we tried to fill it up at WAWA but the air wouldn't stay in. I also noticed the lady at the counter putting in numbers before she printed out my paperwork so I asked her what numbers was she putting in and she said the rotor thickness. I said how are you putting numbers in for that when you haven't asked the technician. I said now I'm questioning if any work was done on this car at all cause this paperwork is bogus. So the "manager" was like "so you're not trying to pay for the oil change?" I said I don't trust that the oil change was even done cause this paperwork isn't accurate. I should've looked at the reviews before calling and booking an appointment, if I could give this establishment 0 stars I would. From booking an appointment to being helped, it was horrendous. Something punctured my tire overnight and I called as soon as I noticed, booked an appointment for a tire patch, a very simple fix that realistically I could do myself I just don't want to, and waited over 4 hours before being turned away when I voiced my frustration at the wait times. They overbook their schedule and then get mad at you when you've been waiting, watching people come in after you and leave before you. The price is okay for a tire patch, but considering I waited over 4 hours, didn't get seen, had to go down the street ON A FLAT TIRE STILL to go somewhere where it's a little more, I'd pay the little more every time over dealing with dumb@$$, lazy @$$, inconsiderate people. When you book over the phone, it's not even the people in the shop, but a call center somewhere in New York... for EVERY tire choice. You have to request to speak with the service manager and be transferred. Terrible TERRIBLE business. read more

I had made a call needing a new tire and wanted to get an idea on pricing. I had searched a used tire shop near me and this shop had appeared so I had called. the gentlemen I spoke to greeted me and asked what he could do and I had asked about potential pricing on a used tire. He told me that they do not sell used tires but he'd be willing to give me a price for a new tire long as I have what size tire I needed. I told him that was fine so I got out of my car to check after telling him that was okay and when I got back into the car (not even a minute later) he said" listen ma'am your not going to buy a tire from us because we don't sell used tires" " a new tire is going to cost you at least $150" he was very rude despite me saying that a new tire was fine during the phone call. I've never had a tire repair done that they didn't communicate with me the customer. I have now... I had to actually ask what was wrong with the tire. Then the customer service gentleman that was ringing me up, gave me a look like "really". I went in because of a slow leak in the tire. After i asked they said i had a bolt in the tire. But who knows if that is true or not; never show the tire to me with the bolt in it. They just did the repair, and i was just supposed to pay it... sorry will not be returning there. (1 tire) They told me to leave the car and they would call me when ready. 6 hours later they call me and tell me about every tire except the one I wanted repaired. They wanted to sell me a whole new set of tires. I guess because I'm a woman I'm not supposed to know any better. I know that my tires are relatively new and they've got plenty tread. Needed to just get a radiator hose replaced, and contacted six other places beforehand and was quoted time frames of a week-October. Found this place online and made an appointment. Arrived a little early only to hear one of the employees tell another customer, "it's first come, first serve". So I sat there for 3.5 hours for a state inspection. Then I was told, I need license plate lights, ok change them out. I was a customer here from 1996 until a few years ago. That's right, I haven't been to this location in years. Why am I writing a review now? Because the "gotcha" I experienced years ago has now got my 19 year old daughter. 3 years ago I brought a truck in for a safety inspection. I was careful to pre-inspect everything myself and EVERYTHING was straight. "Mr Waddell, your truck needs a $20 headlight adjustment to pass inspection." This was a spare vehicle, and I told him to check the odometer. It's only been driven 1000 miles since their last inspection 12 months ago. They blamed Suffolk roads and we're firm on the $20 adjustment fee. I decided to play their game this one time, for the last time. I have not been back since. A few days ago my 19 year old daughter went for an oil change. They did the usual multi-point inspection and advised her to change wiper blades before bringing it back for a safety inspection. Impressive! Maybe they improved their ethics. We installed new wipers and she returned for an inspection. Guess what Treadquarters found. The car needed a headlight adjustment to pass inspection. They took $60 from this poor 19 year old! Tread Quarters, you have lost another customer because you juiced them. Everyone knows mechanics lose money on safety inspections. We get it. We really do. You do multi-point inspections as a way to grow the job while also providing a useful service to customers. But you don't need to juice your customers. If I can't trust you to be honest about a $15 safety inspection, how can I trust you with any other billing? This is not how you grow business. This is not how you increase the bottom line. Customers beware!! We took our vehicle to this location for a specific issue with our vehicle. The store manager called us and gave us a list of all of these so called issues that needed to be fixed to even get to the problem. We paid nearly a thousand dollars based of of what the store manager said. When we got or vehicle back the same problem was still their with vehicle. They NEVER fixed the problem. The Assistant Manager called to inform the store manager and took the vehicle back. They came back with something else and then quoted us over $700 more dollars to fix what they never fixed. The Assistant Manager was very unprofessional and customer service skills. He refused to give me the contact number to the district manager and told me I can look online. I refuse to ever do business with this location again. Also, when you take your vehicle for an inspection they tell people that their lights are not balanced and get money for that. Okay, I experienced an emergency (Blowout) while traveling out of state. My roadside assistance suggested this business, (listing was minimal). When I arrived, I explained the issue and the associate said "Well I have 8 cars ahead of you, it will be later this afternoon before I can look at it". At this point, not being from the area (South Carolina), right across the street was RNR. I had the driver drop my truck there and they attended to me without issue. A little over a month ago I got a small nail in my tire and Tire Choice in Suffolk was close by so I stopped in and inquired about a repair. the nail was approximately in the middle of the tread pattern, nowhere near the sidewall. The tire was about a year old with about 80% of the treadle-life left. Not a challenging patch job at all. 25$ later I'm back on the road. Unfortunately that isn't the end of the story. Over the past couple of weeks I notice my tire was loosing about 2-3 psi every week. So, I took off the tire and applied some soapy water to find the leak. Sure enough I found what I believed was the previously patched hole and it had an extremely slow leak. I live in VB so I drove the tire over to the closest Tire Choice in VB to have them check it out. The manger took a look at the tire as well as the technician and they were fairly certain the hole that had the leak was surly not the the one that had been patched before. They both told me they should be able to see the plug that is pulled from the inside when they patch the tire. they also informed me as a side note that they absolutely weren't allowed to re-patch a hole. It wasn't safe. They removed the tire from the wheel and confirmed my suspicion. The patch failed and the technician informed me the patch wasn't installed properly. The aforementioned plug they couldn't see in the initial inspection was trimmed far too short. FYI: 1.When a tire is patched it is removed from the wheel. 2.The foreign object is removed from the tire. 3.They drill a hole through the damage that precisely accommodates the plug that is part of the patch. 4. The inside of the tire is scuffed up to facilitate a good seal between the glue and the patch. 5. They apply adhesive to the inside of the tire and also the patch. 6. They install the patch from the inside of the tire by pulling the plug through until the patch is seated and the adhesive makes full contact. 7. they trim the plug flush with the exterior of the tire... this ensures the tire is properly sealed with the adhesive sealant both inside the tire between to tire and the patch as well as around the plug. These patches don't fail unless the approved process isn't properly followed. So, The manager at the VB location agreed the job was not done properly but was unsure of what to do (Probably because these patches don't fail on their own). This manager decided to seek advice from the shop who was responsible for the work. She called Robert (The manager) at the Suffolk location..... This manager directed the VB manager to have their technician grind off the patch they had installed improperly and re-patch the whole. I heard the conversation. The VB manger was clearly not comfortable with the orders they were given nor was the technician as they both new this to be against company policy and against industry standards. I was a little dismayed but figured if they didn't damage the tire in the process it was worth a shot. long story short- it still leaked after their best attempt to re-patch because it wasn't possible for the tech to remove the patch and create a sufficient sealing surface for the replacement patch. The VB manager apologized for the outcome and ordered a new tire of the same make and size and I was told we could have it replace in 1 or 2 days depending on when the replacement was delivered. The tire the Suffolk store ruined was approximately 250$. The Suffolk Tire choice manager eared his store a 1 star rating .The Suffolk manager reached out to the VB store and pulled the order for my replacement tire and I received the message on this past Monday. They offered me a 40$ credit towards a new tire but only if I purchased it from them. I don't fault a technician for making a mistake. mistakes happen. I fault the manager. It's the manager's job to ensure quality, stand behind the work and if a mistake happens properly remedy the situation. This Suffolk manager forced employees to cut corners and go against his companies policies, he failed to remedy the mistake he was overall responsible for. read more

I went in for an inspection. Everything went well, and the inspector cut me some slack on a couple issues that would otherwise fail me. I just paid my $16 inspection fee. There was a line so they said it would be at least two hours, so I just walked down the street to Starbucks then to walmart across the street. An hour later they called me and said they were wrapping everything up. They were fast, courteous, and I will definitely be going back. The only real downside was that the waiting area didn't have much. The other tread quarters locations I've been to have had vending machines and stuff. Horrible service, took my fleet vehicle here, needed oil change, tire rotation, the AC worked on and the washer nozzles worked on. Biggest thing was I clearly said that I had a leak in one of the tires, they claimed that the fleet company refused to fix the AC and nozzles and I therefore contacted the fleet company and they showed no sign of ever being contacted about more than the oil change and rotation. Last but certainly not least. After driving a few miles my low pressure light came on again, pulled the tire off at home and it had a nail in it. Will never return. read more

Treadquarters is the kind of shop that gives quality shops a bad name. I've taken the car there several times for inspections and oil changes - simple stuff - because it's within walking distance to work. The typical experience entails them calling with $800+ worth of repairs that are "badly needed." That's fine - I understand the need to upsell to the customer. However, other shops always offer similar repairs for less than half. I'll gladly pay more for service I can trust but not when you're obviously trying to fleece the customer. Furthermore, my car always drives worse than when I rolled in. Twice, I've had to return so the mechanics can fix what they've broken. Poor service, quality, and price. And whatever you do, don't go here for an inspection or forget about passing. read more

I honestly have to say this was the best tire purchase experience I have ever had. I needed to replace two tires and called them on a Saturday morning for a price. I had already called Walmart but didn't want to drive 30 minutes to get there. When I spoke to Amy on the phone she was super nice and after getting the quote I told her that I got a cheaper price somewhere else and thanked her for her time. She then told me that they would beat anyone prices. I had no idea they price matched and figured once I got to the store it would be a different story. When I arrived they were really busy but she took her time to call Walmart to confirm the price and I was able to save over $100 on Tread Quarters original quote.
