I was in Knoxville when a piece of small equipment fell off of a flatbed transfer truck right in front of me and busted my tire. The driver did stop and put my donut on. It was a Sunday and I could not find a tire shop open. I did finally find a shop who showed me the rim was also busted and they did not have one to replace it. I drove from Knoxville, Tenn to Christiansburg, Va. when I felt I could not keep going. Late at night so I stayed in a motel and Monday morning started calling around for tire place. I first needed a rim - I found Bill's used auto parts who had a rim for me. Shawn was so helpful and had me to go Quality Tire and ask for Jack. It was right down the road which was perfect. Jack and his crew were amazing. So kind, so helpful and quality says it all. I had been through so much it was nice to take a deep breath and feel I was in good hands. All was put on perfectly and I headed home. Funny thing did happen. I stopped near Lynchburg, Va. to get a bite to eat and my Jeep would not start when ready to hit the road again. I could not find my Fob anywhere. I called Jack at Quality Tire Tire to see if it was left there because it was already running when I got in it to leave. Jack was so kind and helpful looking around everywhere at his shop, etc. He had me look around the car and then suggested looking on the top of the car. There the keys were - by the luggage rack on top of the car. Shocking the keys/fob stayed on the top of the Jeep for over 90 miles !! Jack was my savior/hero. When they called me back, they told me they couldn't find anything wrong with the tire, even after they took it off the vehicle and everything. Since nothing was wrong, they didn't charge me any fee or anything! They even replaced the valve on the tire for free for me incase it just wasn't reading right. They even checked things like my break pads and battery. Thankfully, they found out my battery (less than a year old) was almost dead! Thank god they checked or I could've been stranded somewhere. I called them up while we were waiting for our tow and we discussed if they had the tire in stock or if we could just go with what they did have. The person I spoke to was so helpful, she looked up the tire and said it needed to be ordered. I was also told they could replace all four tires and get us on our way that day. We ended up going with that option and were able to be towed to the NTB in time to get that done. Joe and his team kept us informed throughout and got us on our way as soon as they could. I got a quote a little higher than I wanted, so I called around and it was about 200$ more at both places I called. As a female college student who has a mechanic for a dad, I had some questions I wanted to ask to make sure I wasn't being ripped off. When I called Firestone back to ask those questions, I spoke to a woman needed to put me on hold about three times to get answers. Finally, she came back and somehow the price had gone up about 40$. I asked her how that was possible and she said "I don't know that's just how it is." I asked her another question and she then proceeded to hang up on me, as if my car was not literally parked at the shop to be worked on. I immediately called back and a man named Matt answered the phone. Matt was more professional than the woman I spoke to and answered all my questions and listened to my concerns. I think due to the woman being unprofessional and hanging up on a paying customer, they gave me a discount which was very much appreciated. When I went to pick up my car, the woman then rudely questioned my discounted price in front of me. My discounted quote was upheld. Firestone was able to get me in very quickly and get the parts needed quickly as well. While I don't appreciate being hung up on for simply asking rather routine questions, every other staff member I spoke to was very nice and helpful. My major problem was I asked over and over to make sure the tires in front had 60 psi and tires in back had 80 psi. What I got was a new front tire at 70 psi and they never even touched the 3 other tires even tho the tech and salesman said they did. It really is the small things that go a long way. Not sure why they would lie when I will find out in a few minutes of driving the truck.
