I had taken my boyfriends vehicle here to get an engine tune up, had called multiple times to ask how much it'll be. The man said it would 150 or less ,if was more it would be at most 200. I get there Christina the manger I found out later on) .Said it would 818 for a full engine tune up. but she said she'd take off fluids off then it be 530. I did it anyway for 530, got the receipt back they had dropped oil coolant and spark plug replacements . Very clearly after I got the car back nothing was done. basically just the spark plug tubing moth the actual spark plugs or were changed. Brakes Were fine before I went. Few days later they were soft and needed to be rebled. read more

I went in a couple of weeks ago and said I needed a new tire. I had gotten a flat tire that morning, replaced it with the spare, and needed a real tire. And you would think this wouldn't be a crazy request but I guess it was because the man immediately said "We can't do that. You have to take it to the dealership." I said "what?" and he gave a nonsensical explanation saying that they wouldn't be able to fit the spare back in my trunk and said "Let's go look at it." And again said "yeah the dealership has to put a new tire on." Okay you're just going to turn away business? There's literally no logical explanation why they can't put a tire on the car. And to turn away business IMMEDIATELY? Because remember, this guy said no before he even look at my car. And who cares about the spare??? So I go to the dealership which is just down the road and the man there said there was no reason why Tire Discounters couldn't replace the tire. I didn't have the dealership replace the tire simply bc it was out of the stock so I went to another competitor and told them what the employee at Tire Discounters told me and he said he was being lazy considering he said no out the gate and that there are rarely any reasons to turn away someone tell them to go to the dealership, especially when there is no damage to the wheel itself. read more

They wrecked my car and refused to repair it. Picked up car and it had a big dent on side of car and a broken side bumper that was not there when car was dropped off. Regional manager, Scott, just said nope not responsible. I asked to look at the cameras on site and was told they don't have cameras by one person and that they do have cameras by Scott, but they are just conventionally broken. I have tried contacting Corporate by all way's the website advises, but no one is willing to take accountability and speak with me. Strongly do not recommend. Instead of apologizing. Make it right. I know you hav cameras. Review them. You will see that your company damaged my car. Do the right thing. Fix it. Your apology is not accepted. Take responsibility for your employees. i know you have working cameras. Everyone does. Stop saying they are broken. That's very convenient for you. read more

They don't do the work that you paid for (tire rotation specifically). The employee made up some stupid lie that they thought I'd believe because I'm a woman. I paid for an alignment for $100 and asked if I'd get that price discounted if I bought all 4 tires since an alignment comes with the purchase of tires. He said the most he could do was 50% off even though the alignment with new tires is included. Well he lost that sale from me! There was another customer there that was complaining that he brought his vehicle in 4 times to get a tire sensor fixed and all 4 times it was never done. I have been using Tire Discounters for my tires since they first came to Lexington many years ago. Their service has always been great, and they have always made it a point to see that I was completely satisfied with their products and workmanship. Today, I purchased a new set of tires for my daughter's car, and even though they were out of stock on the tire I requested, they gave me a great deal on a better tire of the same brand that they did have available. I was surprised at how quickly they were able to get us back on the road, and they even put the spare back in its proper place. Their people are the best. read more

I walked In explaining i knew my brake pads needed changed, they looked at them for free stating upon entering I was looking at $173 before taxes For brakes. they looked at them and decided I needed a new caliber )based on what I'm unsure) for a grand total of at least $800!!!! I'm a woman and I just fixed my one brake pad on the rear with my step dad ourselves for a grand total of $28! I'm blown away.. oh and NOTHING is wrong with my caliber! This is the third time I've attempted to schedule an appointment with Tire Discounters at least a day in advance. In each instance, I have had to wait more than an hour and a half. This time I waited a full hour and a half, left, went and ate a sit-down meal, returned, and they still had not moved my vehicle from its original parking place. What's the point of an appointment? This is my first review for this location, but you can see another review of mine for the Nicholasville Rd. location where the same problem has occurred. The last time our vehicle was serviced at a TD, the dipstick was left out, giving us a "service engine" warning that then cost us a $70 fee at another store. UPDATE: It's now 5 hours later, & they have been telling me my car is "next" for four hours...With an appointment. UPDATE 2: I picked up my car before closing. Managers were understanding and waived the maintenance fee...which was great considering it stopped working again before I even made it home. read more

I have been a loyal Tire Discounters customer for over 8 years. I have never had an experience like my most recent. I brought my vehicle in for an inspection after previous repairs, serviced at a different Tire Discounters location, proved unsuccessful. I made an appointment days in advance, dropped my vehicle off on time, and received a call 45 minutes before close to discuss repairs needed. The gentleman who called me wasn't able to answer my questions, so he was going to have his Service Manager, Cole, call me. Shortly after, I received a callback from Cole. Even though the call started and ended; if I'm being honest, very rude, he was at least able to answer all of my questions and we ended the call with a plan. When I went back to pick up my vehicle, Cole did not disappoint with the continued rudeness and overall horrible attitude. I understand everyone has a bad day, but to continue the awful customer service over a two hour period, come on. As I was leaving, I thanked him and extended a handshake, but was met with annoyance. It was only after the shocked look on my face that he reciprocated and decided to shake my hand. My vehicle was repaired, and I was pleased with the maintenance outcome. The customer service, and my overall treatment, on the other hand, is the reason for my low rating, as well as the reason I will not return. ***Update: Tire Discounters commented on this review asking for my contact information, I forwarded my email and phone number. August 5, 2016, I took my car to Tire Discounters to have a tire changed and a tune up which include spark plugs. I have absolutely no idea about cars so I trusted they would fix it and I would be on my way. Well, December 12, 2016, my car broke down. Cylinders are misfiring and just not running correctly. I had my car towed to Rod Hatfield. They did diagnostics and told me that they found 3 loose spark plugs and that caused the coil pack to be faulty. December 15, I spoke with Manager Scott he told me that he would pay for my car to be towed from Rod Hatfield to look at it and repair if it was indeed their faulty work that caused my car to be damaged. I spoke w/ Scott at approximately 9:30 December 15, 2016. It is now 3:45 and my car is still at Rod Hatfield. Scott said he would try to have my car done by the end of the day today. I have missed work due to their work and looks like I'm going to be without a car another day. read more

Personable staff who were very helpful with my repairs. Would recommend. Came in for two tires, and they informed me that my brakes were severely worn. Took a little while, but they were very busy and we're dealing with difficult customers who thought it was supposed to be a NASCAR pit stop. So I checkout all these 5 star reviews before going to Tire Discounters here in richmond Ky People on here saying how quick they got in and out how fair the prices are. So I decided to use tire discounters instead of miller's tire who by the way all ways took care of me and definitely always have fair prices. Well they were booked so I went to tire discounters with reviews in mind. When I arrived there were 2 people in front of me and a few cars on the lot besides the garages already being full. I thought hey this may take an hr. Which was basically why I was told. After my experience at Tire discounters I have to say if your black don't come here because they will let all the white people who weren't there before you go in front of you I literally counted 18 cars go in and out the garages that wasn't here before me. This is just to crazy to believe and not say anything about. The lady that was in line behind actually got her car finished 2 hrs before mine. I ended up being at tire discounters until closing time a total not about 4 hours instead of 1. On top of that I had to watch all the people they let in front of me really hurt and I will never go here again. My car was the last car out the shop at 7:10 they close at mOn top of they they charged me double the price of any other place in central Kentucky to get tires mounted what a rip off I definitely was underprivileged at Tire discounters in richmond Ky and urge anyone not to go here read more

I went to Tire Discounters a few months ago for two new tires for the front of my van. The guys were friendly and did a great job. When I got a roofing nail in one tire, the warranty let the guys replace it for free since it could not be repaired. Yesterday I had to call to get an appointment to have a pair of tires installed for the rear of my van. The guy told me he the cheaper ones I wanted would be in by Wednesday but he had the same ones I put on the front of the van in stock. The problem was those tires were $27 more EACH; I only had so much to spend and the new tires with the warranty would have been more than I had. I was honest with the guy in telling him that my back tires were bald and had a golf ball looking thing coming out of the side. I told him I had kids and I had to have my car and I explained what my problem was with the extra money. He did everything he could to make it work for me so that I could get the tires and the warranty. I cannot be more appreciative. That's awesome customer service- something pretty rare these days. Within two hours I was driving my van WITH the new tires. I'll never go anywhere else for new tires. read more

I decided to spend an unexpected snow day catching up on errands and "to do" items. On the list was a routine oil change, so I stopped by Tire Discounters in the Richmond Center. My regular mechanic runs a small business, so I didn't want to pester him with something as small as an oil change. About 30 minutes into the service, a worker at TireDiscounters came out to tell me that not only did I need oil, both rotors were damaged beyond repair, my struts leaked, my shocks were rusted and while one rear brake pad was "down to 3mm of use left, the other was down to metal to metal". Absolutely shocked, I asked him how the conditions of my car could deteriorate so quickly from my last oil change in October, when no mention was made of any issues or needed maintenance whatsoever. He assured me that for my safety, all these services were needed. The good news was, that with the 10% discount he gave me as a Madison County School teacher, he could fix everything that day for only $918.30. As a single school teacher that is solely responsible for a house payment, grad school loans, and all other household bills, you can imagine how nauseous it made me at the thought of having to fork over an entire paycheck for services I didn't anticipate; I hadn't experienced any wobbling, shaking, shimmying, lurching, slamming or screeching of any degree while driving my car. So, I told him I could pay for the oil change, but would have to come back for any other work. He told me that he understood, but for safety precautions I needed to at least have my brake pads replaced, which they could also do that day for $336.00. I assured him I would consider it, but didn't want anything done other than the oil change. After talking to friends in the community with similar experiences at this location, as well as my sister who sent me a very interesting and eerily similar Google review from 3 weeks prior at the same establishment, I called my own mechanic to see if he could pencil me in for a check up. He quoted me for new rear brake pads (they were down to 25% use on both) and a strut bearing plate. With labor, the bill will be $232.17.Long story short, I felt that this service tried to take advantage of a young, single woman to the tune of almost $1,000. I was on the way to Gatlinburg Tennessee from Indianapolis Indiana with my girlfriend and my tpms light came on after I just aired tires that morning. Well on the way to Tennessee I discovered it came back on only to find out at 6:45 in the afternoon that my tire had a bolt in it. I happened to stop at wal mart first I very gracious and being very polite because obviously everyone works hard and it's never fun to stay after or see that one guy coming up right when you close. Well although I understand frustrations the guy said after I told him my story they were closing in 10 min and can't help. Then my girlfriend looks up and across the street was tire discounters I called, Cole answered and asked me to come right over I only needed one tire but I purchased four only because this was the very best customer service I've ever had in my life. Nobody grunted groaned or were pissed. Even when they opened the door to the shop guys they didn't even get mad that they were getting a RO at 10 min after close. I work and am a sales manager at camping world and I like to think we provide good service but I could only replicate and clone what these guys did. There is not enough words or characters that can explain how grateful me and my better half are for the Cole and company taking care of us. I would've paid more I don't care if the tires are cheaper anywhere or any auto service for that matter. It is worth it to go to this amazing establishment right here. We were on our way back to Chicago from a great trip in the Smokey Mountains and the brakes on our van finally gave way while we were stopping in Lexington. I called over and they took us in right away, looked at the car and gave a breakdown of the charges. Jim was clear and friendly, the whole staff was pleasant and seemed generally interested in helping us out (including talking with our kids). The work got done on time, we got home safely! read more

Overall good customer service. I got helped quickly after I came in even though there were a few people in the building. I went in because my tire kept losing air even though I've constantly filled it up. I explained it to the girl at the front desk, and she said they could probably plug it for $25. I waited in the building for them to check. She came back out pretty soon and explained that I needed a new tire because I had a hole in the side where they couldn't plug it. I decided to go ahead and have them replace it there instead of going to the dealership. The girl insisted that they had the same type of tires that were already on my car. I was told it would be about an hour and that they would call which was nice so that you know exactly when to head back. When I went back to get my car, I looked and the tire they put on was completely different than my other ones! How do you work at a tire store and not know that all the tires on a car need to match or it brings down resell value? I ended up driving away with my car like that because I didn't have anymore time to spend on it. If you know anything about tires, make sure you check before they put one on your car. If you don't care about that specifically, it's a good place to go. read more
