I've been to this store twice. The first time seemed to go OK. I had checked with several tire stores and Tire Discounters had the best combination of price and guarantee on tires. I put front tires on my work van. Second visit I put on rear tires. There were a couple of minor things to take care of as well, so I asked them for an oil change and to replace a broken muffler hanger. They didn't have a price available for the muffler hanger, but said they would call with it. That call didn't come. They installed it and tried to charge $90. I refused to pay that price and asked them to take it off. They eventually let me have it free rather than uninstall, which seemed like the right thing to do, but a month later I found out it had been improperly installed, leading to a break in the exhaust system and a complete replacement. After 30,000 miles, my front tires were nearly bald. I asked for replacements, expecting a pro-rated price. They offered me a 10% discount on supposedly better tires. But they supposedly gave a 10% discount when I bought them in the first place. I am done with this retailer and will never use them again. read more

I called the Northbend Road location in Cincinnati on a Thursday and acquired and appointment for Saturday at 12. I arrived 15 minutes early to have 4 new wheels put on and arranged for my wife to pick up the vehicle at the end of day. She returned at 4:00 to find out that the vehicle wasn't even touched. After a brief and irritating conversation, she was offered to have the vehicle picked up and 50% off the installation. The appointment was on my own time and my entire Saturday was planned around the appointment. I work several miles from the store and having them pick it up and or me deliver it again was completely out of the question. I left a bad review on their site. I was called by Jerome the manager who talked at me and told me what he was not going to do and that their policies were not inline with my requests that I had written. He never let me talk through his whole description of what he was not going to do for me. He actually hung up on me!!!!! I was then called the following Saturday by a tier 2 customer relations associate who let me talk, he listened well but could only apologize and not make things right. He then told me to come to his store to be treated better (Fields Ertel). This told me that each store may have different customer relations standards. In any event, I will never and my family will never ever do business with this organization. This company was founded by a great man but his employees at this particular store are not so great. I fully anticipate an apology listed below to make this look nice on the website but believe me it is only an apology and it will not be 'true' customer service!!!! Very disappointing!! read more

Have had nothing but bad luck with this place. I recently got a full, new set of tires from here and it has been nothing but issue after issue. I have been back countless times to get the tires fixed and have to put air in my tires daily. Each time I come back I have to wait extended periods of time. At one point while I was waiting, I saw someone drive away in my car. I asked what was going on and they said he had to drive it to activate the sensors. They were out driving my car for more than 30 minutes. For one of my countless visits, I made an appointment and my car was taken back 45 minutes after my scheduled appointment time. This is after taking this time slot due to work constraints. The manager Bobby is friendly and nice, but past that, have had nothing but problems with this place. I would avoid if you can. read more

TERRIBLE LOCATION. THEY DO NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR WORK. POOR WORKMANSHIP THAT TOTALED OUR CAR. GUARANTEED A REFUND ON SERVICES THAT THEY WENT BACK ON. I am a confused as to why Tire Discounters is rebutting my claim. I have a saved voicemail from JIM BROOKS, Regional Manager of Tire Discounters. The call was from May 18, 2016 at 10:32 AM. Transcript below. "Yes, uh, Stacey, my name is Jim Brooks, Regional Manager with Tire Discounters. I was just calling to notify you that we are going to be processing the refund on the request for the $490 and getting that sent to you. So I just wanted to give you that information. If you have any questions, please give me a call back at 614-202-0541. Thanks" I have tried to contact THERESA PHELPS, their accountant, several times as to why they are now not honoring the refund. Phone calls not returned. Email unanswered. Long story short. They recommended a coolant flush and failed to refill the coolant. The first time I drove the car, it started smoking, overheated within minutes, and completely killed the engine. This happened within 10 miles of driving the car post-servicing. They claim to have video and documentation that the service was properly completed, but we never received anything. We sent our insurance agent to look at the car and he said it was poor workmanship. They have been incredibly unhelpful. And I personally cannot stand companies that lack integrity. DO NOT USE TIRE DISCOUNTERS. read more

Walked in with no appointment after running over a nail and they got me taken care of. It was a bit of a wait, but with no appointment I can not complain about that. As I waited I was impressed how attentive the front desk was every time a customer came in and always acknowledged the customer right away. Last time I brought my car here for an oil change it included a tire pressure check and rotation. After I drove off I was driving my car up 71 and heard a whirring noise and felt a vibration from my front driver side tire. Turns out the tire pressure was very very low. I was able to just fill the tire at a gas station so no harm done to my car, but I think this is a huge oversight for a company with the word "tire" in their name and it could have caused a huge problem. I don't really plan on going back. I've been here a few times because the oil changes are affordable and they always have some kind of coupon. The staff is always friendly and knowledgeable but like all big companies will try to sell you on something you don't need. read more

I had a good experience today. I shopped around for prices on a full set of tires and an oil change, and chose Tire Discounters in Newport. Made an appointment for 11am because the sales rep told me my tires would be in stock by then. I showed up at 11am on the nose, and Jeff got me checked in right away. I sat down with my laptop, connected to the free secure wifi, and did some remote assistance for a customer of mine (I run a computer repair business). The call lasted a little over an hour; and as soon as I hung up, Jeff called me up to the counter. The 65K-mile tires I had ordered had not arrived as expected, so he had them install 70K-mile tires for the same price. The oil was all done and the car was waiting out back. The price was as quoted, and the ride home felt like I was driving on kittens covered in cotton balls. Note #1: Call ahead and schedule an appointment. Walk-ins are welcome, but you'll have to get in line behind the appointments. Works the same way at my business, but it's easier to drop off a computer for over-night repair than a car so I don't get NEARLY as many disgruntled customers. Note #2: They do seem to have a recurring problem with having tires in stock. I'd say part of it has to do with walk-ins (see Note #1), but even my tires didn't arrive on time. I don't expect them to keep a set for every car model out there, just like I can't keep spare parts for every laptop model; but still, it seems their delivery system has room for improvement. read more

The staff are always so helpful and accommodating. My sons is new driver and didn't know what the tire indicator was on his dashboard. He took it to tire discounters and the lady at the desk took the time to take him out to the car and show him everything he needed to know about tire care. It was freezing cold but she got down on the ground and showed him what all the markings and numbers meant on the tire and how to test the tread wear. She was extremely patient and helpful. This TD is the only one I will go to for my cars. There are the only "tire" place that has given me professional and courteous service in a consistent way. On this occasion, my flat tire indicator light was on. I went to 3 different mechanics before I went to this Newport TD because I was afraid I had a flat and was hoping the closest place would be able to help me. None of them did. I left all three auto mechanics and my light was still on. Thankfully, when I brought my Corolla to the TD in Newport, they were able to properly inflate my tires, fix the tire pressure indicator (the light was off) and I wasn't even charged for the service. I will note that I waited a long time before they fixed my car. But, they were busy, vey busy. I do not blame them for being busy. It was well worth the wait to have my car properly fixed and with professionalism & courtesy. read more

I have been coming to this location for years for repairs and I've always had great service! Just this week, I came in because something was hanging under my car and I was going to drop off my key and leave my car but when I arrived around 9pm, they were still open! I went in and they explained they just started an overnight service until 3am so that you can drop your car off at night and pick it up in the morning before work. Such a great idea! So they checked out the thing that was hanging which only took about 3 minutes for them to reattach, no charge. But they showed me that my front tires were almost completely worn through! The place I was getting oil changes at was not rotating them like they were supposed to! I decided to get 4 new tires and they even offered to give me an oil change on the house so my tire rotations and oil changes will be on the schedule. They will rip you off. Took my Honda in and they tried to tell me that they needed to replace both of my control arms and that my car had drums. All I wanted them to do is just do my front breaks. Well First off DONT EVER get a Computer System scan from this place (idk bout the others) I replaced my old radiator to a NEW 2 CORE ALUMINUM RADIATOR and replaced the old hoses with new ones, Went to get a system flush and add new antifreeze, well they seen the Check engine light and that's when I was TOLD WRONG INFO AND LIED TO that my bottom Hose is collapse because those are clogged somewhere in the motor so that's what made the bottom hose Collapse, I told that short guy that it's wrong cause I took it to Cleveland Ohio and drove back Nothing was wrong ran Fine. Then monday about 11am was my appointment with them. And that's when they told me Lies, So when I went back up there asking and then telling that A Hole to come outside and look he didn't. So if I had a collapse hose the motor wouldn't be able to Drive to Cleveland and back while running my AC on, NO smell of over heating or smoke from the motor. I told that guy on a 2009 jeep wrangler the bottom holes look the same as the old one and that's how it was he told me NO to my Face. I was like dude I have always worked on cars and worked worked with my dad building race car motors and then he tells me this BS. So I told him I want the Number of your Boss cause you're RIPPING PEOPLE OFF. Just like the News and anywhere else they Take advantage of US ALL. I took my car into the tire discounters in newport, ky on Tues Nov. 20th around 2 p.m. for an oil change. The g.m. Ari Lisner suggested I get new tires, as the tread was poor on them, I agreed. They were extremely busy so I anticipated it would be a while before I got my car back. Little did I know that might be the last time I'd ever see my car. They called me that night around 730 p.m. and told me they put the tires on, but didn't get to the oil change. Assuring me if I left it, they would get to it first thing in the morning, I agreed. The next morning i was awoken by a phone call from Ari the g.m. He sounded very solemn as he proceeded to tell me there was a break-in at the store and my car had been STOLEN!!! Still in semi-shock I arrived at the store and talked to the detective, who had his suspicions that this might be an "inside job". I then spoke with the loss prevention guy from tire discounters who inferred that I might have had something to do with this.I was furious! Asking him what the procedure was for them to compensate me for my car that was stolen while in their custody. He responded "that's what you have insurance for, WE AREN'T LIABLE". My fury grew. Feeling my hands starting to tremble with rage, I calmly told him "we clearly have a difference of opinion" and asked for their cooperate info and immediately called my attorney. Morale of the story, be aware if anything is stolen from your car while it is in tire discounters custody, up to and including your entire car, they will take no accountability for it. I've been a customer a few times here the last couple years, and have had mostly good experiences. I also want to say that the staff has always been incredibly friendly and helpful. My most recent trip this past week was to get a flat tire replaced, the work was done way more quickly than I expected, and is so far working out great. My only complaint this time is that they didn't bother to secure the spare tire or tools when they placed it back in the trunk compartment, so it was all banging around as I drove home. read more

Buying tires should never be a fun experience...after doing my homework I found TD to have the best deal on four tires for my vehicle. When I called to get educated on what I even needed the service agent was honestly one of the most pleasant people I've ever spoken to (Lorin? Maybe?) I get the tires ordered, they're delivered to store within 24 hours. They give me a discount to leave vehicle overnight, I realize that ends up not working out with my schedule, service guys work together to get tires installed and I'm out the door in about an hour and 15 minutes with four new tires at ~$1,000 less than what three neighboring tire shops quoted me for. Only because you can't give 0 stars. I made an appointment for an oil change at noon. I got there at 1140 and no one came out to help me for 20 minutes. I was told that the bay was full and there were 2 cars ahead of mine, regardless of having an appointment. My car didn't even make it into the bay until 115 and who knows when they actually started working on it. I was finally ready to go at 2 and with a long list of suggested repairs all of which are have no effect on my car. How can you say making an appointment makes your wait shorter but discard the appointments in favor of drive ins? This is the second time I have had an issue with TD and both times were at different locations. I emailed their corporate office with my issues and hopefully something gets fixed but I will not be coming back. read more

Wrong oil alert. 2 stars was a very generous rating. My girlfriend took my car here. They put the wrong oil in my 2012 Acura tsx. It's full synthetic, and they put partial synthetic. A matter of fact she waited 3 hours to have the wrong oil. Now we're currently waiting on them to put the right oil in my car. They're yelling at each other to make sure bimbo in the back has it correct. I advise all consumers to watch closely what they do here, even after they look up your make and model. read more

Don't Bother Making An Appointment!!!! My expectation with an appointment is to be AT THE VERY LEAST quoted a fair estimation of wait time or communicated that they are behind on jobs or have lengthy jobs, or are short staffed. I did not expect to wait OVER 3 HOURS for a simple tire rotation. I watched as the staff bantered back and forth over who should go get food and where they should go. I watched as a walk in got serviced before me bc she had a "really easy job". I would have been fine to have simply dropped my car off and had a coworker take me back later had I been told I'd be sitting in the waiting area OVER 3 HOURS. Perhaps I should have spent such a large amount of money on tires from a mom and pop tire shop to get the level of customer service I expect. No service AFTER the sale. read more

I could rant forever about my experience. First off, I made an appointment at 2pm and they told me it would be a 45mins wait... I promptly told them that I had an appointment, he then told me he would TRY and get me in sooner. The point of me making an appointment is the fact that I had my 6 week old baby with me.... Long story short I had to wait, they ended up sticking me for an extra $75 for a tire sensor which when looking back, I didn't need but at that moment with my 6 week old being fussy and my car finally getting worked on an hour later I reluctantly went along with it. Got in my car to head back home and found that my gun was missing out of the glove compartment. One of the managers agreed to check their cameras but told me that was all they could do. I have a tire that keeps going flat despite me filling it with air so I dropped into this Tire Discounters while running errands this past weekend. It was busy, so I waited about one hour from the time I walked into the time they were done fixing my tire. They found a nail, removed it, and patched the tire. I sat in the waiting area and drank free coffee and used their free wifi on my computer to get some work done. Then they didn't charge me a dime for fixing my tire. I took my car to shop in Newport Ky on Saturday December 12th to get oil change and also windshield wiper blades and right rear brake light. After picking up my car when it was the next day at night I realized my back running lights no longer work and my interior light in front is no longer working . I immediately called and they were closed so I left message with corporate. The next day tire discounters inNewport made us look like we did something to cause this. They didn't fix it and made multiple crazy responses to why it's not there fault. I had working lights and now I don't. I can't drive my car and now have a rental because I have to take my car to the dealership to have repaired . The dealership of course has told me this has happened in past because of it being a foreign car and the garage not being certified with Volkswagen. To also just really show how much they don't care I have also called there corporate office three times. Twice left message on machine and once with a person. No ONE has returned my calls or tried to help me. This is the WORST service I have ever received. They are treating me like a criminal and someone who went in to get A brake light fixed so I could accuse them of breaking my other lights. I will not stop here. This is a disgrace and basically theft by deception. They need to be stopped. Also when I got in my car to leave it almost didn't start because they left the door ajar and I was told my car was ready when it really wasn't and had to go back again. They clearly don't know what they are doing and need to be stopped before they do this to another customer . read more

Had a screw in my tire and was low. The employee at TD told me that it could not be repaired and tried to sell me a new tire for $399. I looked online and the exact same tire/same brand was $287. The employee told me that he would match any price online. HOWEVER, he then went on to say that he could NOT match $287. I looked online and the most expensive tire of this type that I could find was less than $399. I told him that I was not paying that amount. He then told me that he COULD plug my tire. After a few weeks, the plugged tire is holding air just fine. TD is a high pressure sales store. They will eventually get into trouble for this. This is not the first time that TD has tried to sell me something that I did not need. I wonder if the AG office has received reports on them! read more

Replacing tires is obviously expensive and not fun. I was dreading the worst when walking into Tire Discounters, and they delivered. I showed up at their door a few minutes past 8am on a Saturday - just after opening. Unfortunately the tires my car required were not in stock, but they said they could have them in stock by 11:30am same day. They told me I could get my car around 1:30. Customer after customer came and went, but I did not end up getting out until around 4pm. Woof. read more

I had called to see if they had any available appointments for an oil change and what the price was ($45). I was told they didn't have anything available, but would be able to squeeze me in at some point if I left my car. I dropped my car off around 9:30 AM. When I gave him my keys he gave me a bill for $79 and told me to "sign here." I stated that I wanted the $45 price I was given when I called and that I knew it would be about $15 extra due to needing extra oil. He then told me it would be $68 including labor. Fine, whatever. At 6:50 PM I received a voicemail asking to call back, which I didn't since I was at dinner. I was called twice more in the next ten minutes. I finally answered to be told that I "needed and extra part that couldn't be ordered until tomorrow and the oil change could not be done until the part was in." I have had this car for 13 years and never had any other shop tell me I needed this part in order to do an oil change! I said no and that I would pick my keys up. He then stated "well we rotated your tires for you!" As if I was supposed to be so grateful that they did something that they were hired to do! read more

I call at 6 and am told we won't be able to get to this until tomorrow bight if not Monday morning. Completely unacceptable.
