These guys are friendly, quick, and thorough! I like it better here than at Big O! Rundown of the day.. I first drove down to Big O to pull a nail from my tire and patch it. The guys at the counter were busy and didn't even bother to say, "Hi, someone will help you in just a sec!" I stood there until one of the guys at the counter was free. After I told him I had a nail in my tire and I needed it to be patched, he said it would take four hours before it was patched! I asked if he thought I could make it to Danville for my meeting and back and he said probably, but he couldn't say for sure. He held a slot for me four hours from then if I decided to return.. When I was in the parking lot, I called the guys at Tires Direct to see if they could take me sooner and they said, "they weren't busy and they'll take care of it, no problem!" I made my way over to their shop and was greeted quickly! Ali came out to take a look at the nail in the tire and asked me to reposition the tires so he could do the patchwork. He was so quick and efficient, I was impressed!! It was also the first time I've seen a nail pulled from a tire.. anyway, he was personable and so were the other two men at the shop. Purchased 4 tires. Alignment was included but was not done correctly. Returned to have it fixed. After waiting an hour, Left shop & again alignment was not done correctly. Main person gave me the explanation that their thousand dollar machine tells them that everything was ok, and further states that there is something wrong with my car. I'm only giving 1 start because I have to. Saw this shop on Facebook and they had decent priced good quality tires. We normally go to a shop in Stockton but Lafayette is closer so we tried Tires Direct. That saying you get what you pay for is 100000 times accurate. The wheels are stock and didn't have any damage prior to taking the car in. Once we got home noticed scratches on one of the wheels. Called to complain and we were told there was no way their machine could do that. They were not interested in helping resolve the issue at all. Needless to say, won't be back there. Lesson learned UPDATE-Owner reached out as you can see from my post. I responded with the contact information in the hopes to come to some kind of resolution. As of now.....NO RESPONSE. So I usually never write reviews but I have to for this shop. I got an unexpected flat after running over a pothole on the freeway on New Years Eve in a city that was 50miles away from my home. BE LEARY!!!! These guys are horrible! My buddy brought his 4 rims with tires on them to have the tires removed so he could have the rims refurbished! No problem there, so when his rims were ready to have the tires put back on, he took the rims and tires back, left them there because they were busy! He went back the next day to pick them up and only 1 was ready! He paid for the 1 and said he would be back for the others! He waited 3 days and went back to pick them up and they told him he abandoned them and they sold them and that was it! What recourse does he have!! read more

Brought my truck here today to put on some new rims I had picked up. I was concerned about the rims getting scratched while balancing and asked them what method they used to balance the wheels. They assured me they would take extra special care to not damage my new rims. Then they proceeded to, you guessed it, damage the rims. I explained there was no center caps to cover any mounting damage. They said they understood. When they came in asking where my center caps were, I knew they hadn't been paying attention. And I knew what I'd see when I went to look at my vehicle. Go here if you have to. But if you care about details or quality work at all. Go somewhere else. Typical hack-job wheel shop. Yesterday my wife got a flat tire while driving for work and we were concerned about getting it patched or replaced on a Saturday. Just around the corner she found this place and headed over right around opening. We had known for a while that she may need new tires but when you hear someone at a tire place tell you that you cringe no matter what bracing yourself for that $500-$900 quote. I came here last Tuesday for a set of new tires. I live in Oakland and ONLY came here for tires because I saw an ad saying free alignment with purchase of new set. The tires were fine and they mounted them pretty quickly and they were a decent price but my steering wheel had been slightly off center so I wanted to align it. The car did not pull. After the alignment I get on 24 back to Oakland and immediately notice the car is pulling to the right and I have to keep the wheel cocked the the left to go straight. It's 3:45 and I can see bumper to bumper traffic going back east and decided there's not enough time to deal with it. I got home and called the shop and they said bring it back and they'll fix it for free. I work wed-sat so they said it's ok to bring it Sunday. I ride my motorcycle to work and everywhere else so not driving my car until then isn't an issue. Today is Sunday so I brought my car back and saw the mechanic who aligned it and explained what was going on. They had a second mechanic try to align it this time. An hour later the original mechanic comes in the wait area and says I'm good to go. This time I drove it around on the flattest street I could find close to the shop. It was still pulling hard at low speed down school street. I came back and told the second mechanic what was going on. He told me that he couldn't align it because there was no room on the passenger side to break the tie rode free and just left it the way it was. He also said he told the first mechanic and that was the guy who told me I'm good to go. So I go to the first mechanic and tell him it pulling hard to the right still and the other mechanic can't align it and asked how he did it the first time? He didn't listen to my question and told me he'll have to do it himself. So I wait for them to do it a 3rd time (2nd time by the first mechanic) and after a half hour he says he was able to get the adjuster loose and it's %100 aligned. I don't even have to get to school street, as soon as I get straight on mt. Diablo the car is pulling harder to the right and the steering wheel is cocked right. I turn around and go back and tell the same mechanic what's going on. He said I'm probably going to have to go to an alignment shop and pay them to do it but that's literally the only reason I went with Tires direct. He said I can come back tomorrow (Monday) and talk to a manager named Jimmy. I guess I'm going to have to come back here 3rd time. Now the steering wheel vibrates above 50mph and the whole car vibrates when braking in the 45+ range. I'm not even angry or anything just very disappointed. The mechanic messed it up the first time. Had someone else try and they gave up and told me I was "good to go". And then tried again a 3rd time and was told to go somewhere else or come back a third time. I was happy with the tire sales from Romeo but again, the only reason I picked this place was for the alignment. I'm not one of those people who only uses yelp to post bad reviews and I also used to work at Midas and did their job for a living so I know someone dropped the ball and not telling me why they can't fix it is unacceptable. I should also mention that they have only 1 alignment rack and the main mechanic told me it's bent so they sometimes have to make adjustments to correct that. I will update this review after I speak with a manager. I went back on Monday and spoke to Jimmy the manager. He offered to pay for my alignment at another shop and apologized. I feel like it was sincere and that he wanted to make his customers happy so I am changing the rating of this review although I would not recommend this place for alignment, only tires. I was told there was a miscommunication between the mechanics and that's why I was told I'm good to go when I wasn't but all 3 times my car came off the lift they never tested the alignment. This should have been done after the first return or even after the second. The steering wheel being off center should have been caught when backing the car out. I know no ones perfect and sometimes we make mistakes. Thank you for paying for my alignment elsewhere. I plan on going to firestone this Sunday. read more

My son bought a new tire here which lasted 6,000 miles and less than 5 months, and was completely worn out, and I could see a crack on it. Our car has recommendations for oil change every 7500 miles or more. So, the tire could have easily blown between the 2 service times. To me, this is a safety issue, and the tire should not have been sold in the first place. The person in charge, Jimmy, was completely unsympathetic, argumentative, and unprofessional. read more
