Had a 11:00 am appointment for service. Dropped off daughter's car at 10:45 and was told would be done by 2:30. Arrived back at 2:45 and nothing was done to the car. Asked what's going on and was told they had other cars to finish up first. They didn't know when they were going to get to it. I said that was an unsatisfactory way to run a business. 2 3/4 hours after an appointment and car not touched at a minimum they should've call and let me know. Very poor way to run a business. I have been a customer at this Tire Plus location for 25+ years. Had another problem at this location back in April and was writing it off as a one time thing, "WRONG". I would never refer anyone to this location again. This location has been going down hill for the last 2 years. Carson City Tires Plus has previously been good to my daughter's automotive needs so I plan on giving them a chance at my future business. I made an appointment to have four tires installed about 9 days prior. The vehicle was not completed the day of the appointment (3pm) so I agreed to leave it overnight. The following day at 4pm I stopped in to pick up the car to find that it was again not completed. I took my car up the street to Big O tires. Much better service. read more

Not good, I have tried to be a customer there for several years buying my tires etc. But the customer service is not good, I drove from South Lake Tahoe, CA made the appointment online, never received the confirmation email of my appointment (as stated I would), I called and confirm my appointment for Saturday 9/13/25 and I show up. The short older guy with glasses, was not very friendly and rude. I just ignored that. I sat there for for an hour and a half with no communication my car still sitting outside. The lady next to me sitting and waiting, her appointment was at 10 am, her car was still sitting outside. At this time, I am a little upset. I asked the younger guy with glasses, also rude, when my car would be done, he stated there are other appointments a head of you, I said, I know this the 10am is still sitting here. At this point, I am trying not to give back the bad energy I am receiving from him. :( I said Well how long? he says, MAYBE another two hours. I said, please can I have my keys back, I have another appointment. He hands me my keys with a dirty look and says have a nice day. I do not think the owners gives a rat but, I can see other reviews same as mind. It is so sad, that is one of the reasons businesses do NOT survive. How about, calling me prior to my appointment if you KNOW you are 2 hours behind. How about give me that courtesy? Common sense, hey but you get what you paid for right? the staff is probably over worked and under paid. Also, All I watched was the staff standing around, no movement. so sad. My Hyundi Accent is 21 yrs old, and I am not the best at getting it taken care of, so when it started grinding on the front wheel area, I knew it had to go in. They were fast - efficient - and very polite. I enjoyed the interaction and their response to a problem that occurred because they repaired my car. New parts that were working correctly rubbed on tires. Within days they had new tires (special size) and the problems are all gone. Chuck Matthews is a saint. My family and I were traveling from Tahoe back to Pasadena and got a flat by Topaz Lake. The closest tire store was back in Gardnerville and we hobbled back by filling up time and time again with air. Chuck took a look at the new tire (less than 6 months old) and noticed that it is generally not repairable. A trip to the Pep Boys in Reno was the offered solution since it would be covered under road hazards. With twin 3-year-olds and a dog in the back, I explained that we were going south and couldn't afford to make the trip north. Chuck went to work and instructed his team to try their best to help us out. After a short time, we were given the great news (and a huge staple) that the tire had been fixed. Chuck did it! We were in a desperate situation and Chuck's dedication to the customer experience not only fixed our tire but fixed our summer vacation. My review is a zero. Last week I called the store to make an appointment to change out my snow tires, for 4pm today (4/24/23). When I arrive I was told that any appointments made on line or through the call center (if the store doesn't pick up in three rings the call goes to a call center) and neither method gets relayed to the store (Gardnerville, NV location). So I did not have an appointment. How could a business knowing that if they don't pick up in three rings they're losing business, and not pick up the phone? This is NOT professional. In addition, when I bought the snow tires at the Gardnerville, NV Tires Plus store early winter 2022, I was charged for road service (which I didn't ask for and the guy said was part of the deal), and was also charged for tire recycling, when I kept the non snow tires!!! I purchased a set of Bridgestone tires for my wife's car. Bridgestone offered $100.00 Prepaid VISA card, and $30.00 rewards. It was explained to me that these rewards, could be applied to the purchase of the tires, once the prepaid VISA card was received. My intention was to apply this $130.00 reward to the purchase of my tires, once the card was received. As it turns out, I was not given correct information. The pre paid VISA card is generated by CFNA, which is the financial institution for Bridgestone tires. The rewards cannot be applied to the payoff of the tire balance. The staff at Tires Plus is great and their service is equal, however, I was led to believe that the rewards could be applied to the total cost of the tires. If you are trying to save a few dollars with this rewards program, please be advised that the rewards can only be used on services other than applying it to your purchase. read more

So we have taken our truck & car in multiple times for tires and oil changes here with appointments. Id say 1 out of 9 visits they actually got our vehicle in close to our scheduled appointment time. Today was last time we take our vehicles there. We had scheduled a 10am oil change appt. at 3 they call & say that they can't get to it today. The desk person said that they had 3 other cars ahead of us that took longer than expected. That's literally 5 hours that they couldn't do an oil change. I mean come on why make a oil change appt if most of the time you are going to keep the vehicle there for most of the day?! They didn't offer any good reason for this just like in the past & they didn't seem to care that we were inconvenient by this. read more

Tires Plus The absolute worst place and experience I've ever had purchasing tires. I went on-line three days ago and ordered four new tires for my truck. The tires came to almost $2,000. plus a front end alignment as needed. I set up an appointment for Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at 1:00pm. The order was accepted and I received a confirmation for my appointment. I arrived early (as requested by the website) and was told that there was no record of my purchase or appointment. I then showed the employee my purchase order and confirmation on my cell phone. He began complaining that the Tires Plus web software doesn't "talk" to their store software (stated this happens "all the time") and that he didn't have my information. The employee was finally able to find my purchase (apparently from the Tires Plus website). When he confirmed my purchase via my credit card and photo ID, he asked if the address he had on file was current. Don't know where the address came from by I haven't lived there in 20 years and another state. He filled out the work order and I told him that I had checked the "will wait for the service" box on the website. I didn't have any other transportation so I told hime that I'd wait. After waiting for an hour and a half (and sitting in the waiting area not 20 feet from the employee), I got up and looked outside and saw that my truck was still parked where I'd left it. When I inquired about it, I was told that they "probably" wouldn't get to my truck until 4:30pm. I told the employee that was unacceptable and that's when he told me that all of his "service technicians were assholes" and did what they wanted. He told that we could set up a new appointment. When I agreed, he mentioned next Monday (July 17). I explained that if it wasn't tomorrow (because I have to leave town) that I'd just go to Costco for tires. He then said "how about Saturday", I explained that Saturday was not tomorrow and that I would not be available. The employee then booked me for tomorrow at 1:00pm. He said that he guaranteed my appointment tomorrow because he used his computer and not Tire Plus's "piece of shit software". As I walked out I asked avoid my appointment was actually guaranteed. The employee let out a little laugh and said "sure...maybe". This company or at least this branch should go out of business. There is no professionalism or customer care. The employees apparently don't get along and are rude. I will keep my appointment tomorrow because I've already purchased the tires through Tire Plus but this is the last time I will ever do business with them again. UPDATE OK, an update to my update. My new appointment was for 1:00pm today. Arrived about 20 minutes early and was assisted immediately. Since the work order was processed yesterday and my order was paid online, my truck was immediately taken inside. Did not have an opportunity to sit down when a man came out and introduced himself as "Chuck", the manager. He asked to walk outside to talk as there was another customer in the waiting area. Chuck apologized profusely. Told me that his name is on the business and that he was thoroughly embarrassed by what had happened yesterday. I wrote a complaint to Tires Plus Customer Service last evening and apparently Chuck had seen it. He told me that he left a business meeting early to talk with me when I can in for my appointment. He said that he could not get in to personal matters but said the issues were being addressed. Chuck was very professional and said that he'd see what he could do for compensation. I was not really looking for any compensation but his gesture was appreciated. I spent about an hour and a half for my service which was good considering I had four new tires mounted, balanced and put on my truck. Chuck told me that my front end was slightly out of alignment (which I suspected) and that he would perform the alignment free of charge. As I was processing out after the service, Chuck told me that since I had already paid online, he was unable to reduce any of my costs (which I didn't ask for or expect) but he did comp me a "life time (for this truck) free alignment which will be very handy as I tow a 5th wheel and like to insure the front end is always aligned. The normal price for the life time alignment is approximately 200.00. I am satisfied with the work done today and easily accepted Chuck's apology. He took a very bad situation and experience and turned it around. I will be contacting Tires Plus Customer Service to update with them as well. read more

First I needed a battery, they ordered it and had it in the car with in 1hr. Made an app. for the check engine light, had to get new plugs. They do everything in house, which is great and keeps the cost down. The staff makes sure, you know what's going on and everything their doing with your car. read more

Scammers! My daughter blew a tire in her brand new Subaru that has 5k miles. She called, checked that they had the one tire in stock and brought the tire and wheel to be mounted. Because he saw a young girl he tried to tell her she needed 4 tires. It was a liability. The man could see the tire was barely used. Find somewhere else!! read more

Tires Minus! Called employee "Angela" and explained I had an 87 Chevrolet 1 Ton Dually with a cab over Lance camper on the bed. I needed the 2 front tires replaced. They had them in stock and would have it done either that day or no later than tomorrow. I had arranged a ride home while the work was being done. I showed up and met with Angela. When I was handing over my keys she asked where the truck was parked and a co-worker, "Chuck", interrupted her and said "that they could not do the work because the camper had to be removed." So they wasted my time and my ride's time by not disclosing over the phone that they do not work on cab overs and that the camper has to be removed. So I guess if you have an RV, shuttle van or van conversion, or any type of vehicle with a high profile they won't do the work for you. All they had to do was lift the front end, remove the wheels and replace the tires. When filing my complaint with TP corporate I was told they refer people to "GCR" for that type of work? I have never heard of "GCR" but they need to train Angela not to give out false info to their customers. Train your people TP! Les Schwab said they would have to do that job outside anyways because you can't bring cab overs in and put them on the rack so what's the big deal with TP? Do it with a floor jack outside, chock the rear wheels and it's an easy, safe procedure. It was a laughable conversation with Robert at Les Schwab. If you want to buy tires though go to Pacific Gasoline & U Haul. Order your tires there 1479 U.S. Hwy 395 N, Gardnerville, NV 89410. When they call you for tire pick up then make an appointment with 1 Way Auto for mount and balance. Pick up your tires from Pac Gas the day of your appt. then simply drive 0.1 mile away to 1 Way Auto 1473 US-395 N, Gardnerville, NV 89410 and they will mount & balance them for you. Update: RUN FAR AWAY! Chuck is great, however his staff that is currently working is not. Ian likes to try and hassle you into things you don't need. He charged me for an air filter and never called me back when it was in stock. I came back because the tires were not rotated like they were supposed to be. They then tried to tell me I needed to think about new tires. The tires were just purchased here not even a year ago.. Ian told me my brakes had 50% left. He wouldn't know that because they never took the tires off to rotate and look at them. He then proceeded to tell me that my air filter was terrible and needed to be replaced. That's funny... I just changed it a month ago. I called Chuck, he got me in the next day for a rotation. I was able to see them in the bay. They rotated one side only. I asked about it and they told me I didn't know what I was doing and that I was crazy. Fool me once, shame on me, but you're not going to lie to me back to back. I will never come back here and I've referred a ton of friends and family. read more

We were passing by and were caught in a snowstorm so we're forced to stay overnight overnight in this town, as we were continuing our trip, one of the tires had a nail, we stopped by to see if they could help us replaced a spare, they were short of staff because they had just opened but the young lady worked there was extremely nice & accommodating. They helped us replaced the spare but didn't charge us, she told us to just tip the young guy who helped us (We had a big 15 sitter van). We sent the guy from AAA away even though they came after we placed the call. Overall, great customer service and very friendly! read more

Was visiting a friend up in Minden, from the Bay Area. My Lexus RX350 would pull to the right and there was a shudder when the vehicle reached 30-40 mph. Explained this to the service manager. 4hrs. later, he called and said the vehicle was ready. When I picked the vehicle up, he said that the alignment measured to the manufactures specs. Furthermore, he told me that they rebalanced the front tires. When I retrieved and drove the vehicle, it still pulled to the right and the shudder was still there. It's as if they didn't do anything but charged me $150. When I got back home, I took the vehicle to a local tire shop. They looked at the spec sheet readout that I had from Tires Plus. They confirmed that nothing had been done and the toe and steer ahead, were off. Furthermore, they said that the front tires were badly unbalanced. Vehicle is now much improved. We'll this place wasn't too bad to start. However now in their new location their lacking customer service and doing the job right. This place has a lot of bad energy. I should have known better as when I was waiting for the service of oil change, tire rotation and break check that the employee at the front was in tears from all the complaints she had been getting. Now month and a half later come to find out that they didn't put my oil cap back on my engine. With oil splattered everywhere and my cap missing I was very upset and called the store. The owner reassured me that he would steam clean my engine and take care of me. I had my breaks done as well but they squeeked the entire time I drove the truck. Now at the "fix it appointment " they are not keeping their word on the steam cleaning. I still have to clean it myself. I feel like they are blaming me for my brakes squeeking said my breaks were "hot" and that was my fault because I used my breaks too much. I reassured them that I don't, as I use the shifter, but they flat out didn't believe me. Personally I think they forgot to put the new rotors on as well. They warranty it and put all new on only after 6 weeks of usage. Rather disappointing all the way around. Will never go there again. Take your chances going there for service. read more
