I found out today he was relocated to other location and I really want to know which one !!!!! Because I'm not going back to Baymeadows location .... Since I came in at first sight there was no organization not even nice customer service ..... Devron assisted me and first give me a price of 100 dollars to check my car system when I decide not to do it he gave me a 50 dollar discount ???? Why this last minute offer ? Then I dropped my car there to make that system check .... they called me with a quote of almost 800 dollars !!!!! I said wow i decide I'm Not going to fix nothing and then he was again .... if you decide to Do it we can work in the price for You !!!!! Why is this happening ??? What for that double pricing ????? Save your time and money. As a woman who is unfamiliar with cars, I'm always nervous about being taken advantage of regarding car repairs. I visited this location to have my tires rotated, only to be told that they were dry rotted and unable to be serviced. I left to get a second opinion from another well known agency and was told that I had at least 7,000 or more miles before I even needed to be concerned about new tires. Beware. read more

READ the reviews before you go to this place. I had a nail in my tire and like many other posts, my tire was "dry rotted" (tires only a year old) and couldn't be repaired. Unfortunately I read the reviews after the phone call so I picked it up and took it somewhere else. I explained the situation, the tire was "not" rotted, and they fixed it for free. Ask for Nick, he's great. These guys have always been extremely friendly, courteous, up front and honest. I've taken my '06 Dodge Ram to them since I moved to Florida for everything from routine oil changes, to a new water pump. The prices have been great and they've never tried to "up-sell" me on anything I didn't need. Recently took my new '13 Dart to them for it's very oil change (versus the dealership [not to say I don't trust the dealership, I just am apprehensive with men with slicked back hair meticulously kept in place with a vat of product]) and they special ordered a new wheel for me as well (thanks a-hole who almost hit me and drove me into the curb. I absolutely hate getting anything done to my car. As I've said in other reviews, I always feel like a huge target for men who work on commission as soon as I walk in. That said, this was a very positive experience. I made an appointment online and because I was running a few minutes late, I called to let them know I was on my way. The man up front (I believe his name was Mike?) was really nice and joked around with me as he got the paperwork ready. I signed the forms, handed over my keys, and headed across the parking lot for some dinner. I came back about 30 minutes later and took a seat in the waiting area. Like most Tires Plus locations, they have a bunch of chairs with some magazines and a tv. I think the tv had some sort of car related show on but I wasn't really watching. After about another 10 minutes, another man (who name I also think was Mike? I could be losing my mind...) called me over. No attempt to tell me there was a laundry list of problems with my car, he just finished the paperwork, I paid, and was on my merry way. read more

I've been coming to this place for about 3 nearly 4 years. I absolutely love it and adore Bob and Frank up front. Super friendly and very professional. Sure they have priced me for some things I went and got a second opinion on - but they've been 95% right on the money. If I can't get my personal mechanic to do it or it's beyond his expertise...I bring my car here and will continue to do so. I never feel like they have ripped me off or over charged me. Tires Plus? More like Tires Minus... Two times I brought my car in because the low tire light came on and two times they couldn't be bothered to do anything but put air in the tire and send me off. I finally took it somewhere else where they actually looked and found two nails in the tire and are now patching the tire. I unexpectedly got a flat tire in January and only had 45 min before I had to leave for a wedding in south Florida. They fixed it in less than 20 min and for cheaper than expected! It is noteworthy, neither Tires Plus (corporate) or this store have a facebook page, a google review capability, or provide the consumer the ability to leave a comment on their website. However, comments do appear and magically show an average review of 4.6 (out of 5). I have been a loyal customer of not only Tires Plus, but of THIS location (Dunn Ave, Jacksonville, Fl.) since I moved to Florida 5 years ago. For the first four or so years, I always found the service professional and the staff knowledgeable. Then they had a change in service managers. Things began to change. It wasn't always a good experience. A few months ago, I took one of our vehicles in for what should have been a simple repair that a service technician, a service manager, and myself had discussed previously. After having the vehicle for the majority of the day, they called me to let me know they would NOT be able to perform the work (ever... at all...). It was now beyond their capability. Yesterday, I took my 2012 Hyundai Accent in to have my battery checked because I had to push start (it is a manual transmission) my car in the morning the day before and since then it was slow to start. They checked the battery and told me my problem wasn't the battery, but the alternator and it would cost me about $550. Not in a position to doubt their assessment, I agreed to the alternator replacement. While they waited for the part to be delivered, they informed me they would put a charge on my battery. This sounded prudent so I didn't doubt that either. Seven hundred and fifty dollars later, I collected my keys and left. The car was slow to start. I thought this a wee odd, but decided the battery hadn't yet reached full charge. I drove home (approximately four miles). Not three hours later, I had to push start my car because my battery was dead. After calling the corporate office to register my displeasure, I looked again at the paperwork from the repair. Imagine my surprise when I found a recommendation to replace my battery (for an additional $160). NOBODY EVER mentioned this. In fact, I was told by the service manager I did NOT need a battery. This has left me wondering if I ever needed the $500 alternator at all...??!!!!! Have I been taken for $500, only to NEED to drop another $160 on the battery that would have fixed my problem...???? I may NEED to find a new car repair facility. read more

Spent $950.00 on a set of tires and a lifetime alignment. I was satisfied with my purchase and my experience until they lied to me by telling my alternator drive belt was seriously deteriorated and needed to be replaced immediately, and that they would be happy to do it for $270.00. The problem is that my alternator drive belt was brand new. I spent almost $1000.00 and they lie to me to try to get a few more bucks. If you like highway robbery..... Took my car there complaining of a noise, a very loud and obvious noise. "It might be this or it might be that." After two visits and paying over $300 for a part I was told was going to fix it, the noise remained and continued to get worse. A few days after having the service done on what I thought was the problem, my splat pan falls off the bottom of my car. After taking it back in to have the pan secured, I am told "Oh, yea I hear that noise you're talking about. If you bring it back in I'll investigate a little deeper." .....I didn't realize I originally had to ask you to "dig deeper" before actually doing what I brought it in for or taking my $$. read more

Made the appointment and now it's taking more than an hour and a half after you told me it would take half an hour. Thanks for making me late to my next appointment. Just because the service is a courtesy doesn't mean you can skimp on the customer service. At least tell me ahead of time that it will take longer than it should. If I am prompt for my apptmnt then the business should be too. Communicate more next time. read more

Took my car here on 11/10/19 with a brake issue. After running the codes he informed me it was the brake booster. My prius had 176000 miles on it so it was far from warranty. Bob kolton is the service manager and did some research and told me there was a customer support from toyota about this and to take it to the dealership. I took it to the dealership today and they are going to fix it under their support program even though my car is out of warranty. Most car places wouldn't go above and beyond for the customer and do this research. Most places would have charged me a arm and a leg to fix it. This $4000 repair turned into a warrantied repair for me thanks to Bob and his great team. Definitely will send business his way. Very honorable people. read more

Every time I come to this location they take excellent care of me. Their quite times are accurate and the staff friendly.

Took my car here for a $186.00 tensioner pulley job and ended spending over $1400.00 on everything under the sun they could come up with to get more money. They finally call and tell me it's ready, that they've checked and topped off all fluids in the car and it's running great. Got 2 miles down the road and the car overheated cause it had not a drop of coolant, water or anything for that matter in the rediator. Now the radiator is busted and I still can't drive my car. It broke a part inside the radiator called a seperater that separates the coolant from transmission fluid. Sp now i"ve got tranny fluid in my radiator and coolant in my tranny. After 3 weeks of phone calls that consisted of them telling more parts were needed even things that were brand new and just replaced, and $1400 dollars I'm still without this vehicle... And now with my wife's car, we had bought a set of new tires from this location with a warranty. The other day when a screw was in the tire naturally i took it back to where i purchased the tire's and warranty. The tech. came out at 7:50am and took vehicle into stall. At 9:15am after the car had been sitting on a jack stand for over an hour and the tech was just walking around conversating with other techs we were finally told that "the tred on the tire was to worn to plug." The tires are only a few months old and we have a warranty. Apparently our warranty meant nothing cause we were told all they could do was SELL us a new tire. So it took an hour and a half for them to tell us something the tech should of been able to see as soon as he walked up to the tire. And still tried to scam us out of more money. My advice is to stay away from this location if at all possible. They will try to drain you for anything they can get away with. And thier warranties are completely useless and thier employees are incompetent. The only reason they even got this 1 star rating is because this site wouldn't let me post this without choosing some sort of rating. read more

The service has gone down hill. I used to like this location. I recently had my oil changed. It was over $60 and wasnt done right. The bottom panel of my car was left open and dragging on the road. The change oil soon light was turned on and had a check engine this morning. Car is not old and oil was supposedly changed Sun. read more

i will let them do small things but no major work ever again, took my car in to get motor mounts put on, pick it up, guy says i have a kink in my tranny line i might want to get replaced. Take it home you can clearley see where the messed up the line changing the motor mounts. They clame to be full service but i think they need to stick to tires. read more

I've been here a couple times (Baymeadows location) and each time a leave with a sheet of things they claim I need done. Last service I went in for a brake flush suggested by one of their techs over the phone. They charged me $89 even though their window said they had a "special" for April. When they were finished they told me I needed new brakes AND rotors on a four year old car with less than 40,000 miles on it! I didn't trust them so I took it to a BMW technician and he not only told me I didn't need the brakes or rotors, he also said they didn't flush my brakes! So I've paid twice, congrats on the two tires I purchased and fake brake flush. I won't be returning. If it's not for a tire, I suggest getting a second opinion before allowing them to service your car! read more

This place is absolutely horrible for auto repair. I took my 1998 Honda Accord here to fix two problems. One was that the AC in the car would not switch from Head to Feet or Defrost settings, the other was the check engine light came on. After diagnostics they told me the check engine light was a gasket in the exhaust system and charged me around $150 to fix it. The light came back on less than a week later and when I had the car re-examined at another shop not only did they tell me Tires Plus replaced the wrong gasket, gaskets in the exhaust systems do not effect the car's performance in any significant way. As to the AC problem they "diagnosed" the problem as the control unit for the AC went bad. They wanted to charge me $500 for the part alone and gave me a written estimate stating that. However, as I was living in JAX at the time, I had no need for a defroster and decided not to have the work done. Now that I'm back in Atlanta I took the car to a shop here to have the problem fixed and, surprise surprise, Tires Plus misdiagnosed this problem. A motor had shorted out in the AC system that was preventing the vents from switching. Also, the shop in Atlanta charged me $491 to fix the problem, parts and labor together. During the "diagnostic" of the AC problem Tires Plus broke the knob to control the AC, but instead of telling me they put the knob back on the dash so that it would fall off when I twisted it two days later. Also, they switched my AC from head mode to feet mode leaving it stuck in that mode for 2 weeks before the motor finally switched it back. Finally, to top of this great experience, when they called me to tell me my car was done the guy on the phone quoted me a price of about $100 less than the actual total. Apparently he forgot that labor chargers were needed even though I asked him for the total amount. Maybe these guys are good a tires, if so they should stick to that because their auto repair is a joke. NEVER GO HERE FOR AUTO REPAIRS!! read more

Horrible place, if you don't have boobs (the comment on the next post should be proof enouh)they don't talk to you like they even care. Rip off artists is what they are ,took 4 hours to replace 2 tires and they moved a tire to the front for whatever reason but it was a directional tire and they failed to find that out. Total car care my butt, this place is horrible. If you must use tires plus use the one on southside, still not the best but at least they didn't cause me to ruin a directional tire. read more

I took my car here yesterday for an oil change. The front staff was very friendly and asked about my Navy uniform and we had casual conversation. Well i go to get in my car this morning and go to put my ID in my center console where I always do and immediately notice the scratch off tickets that I set it on every morning that have been in my car for over a month are gone (about $15 worth of winning tickets) It had to be tires staff plus staff as I am always either parked in a gated parking lot at work or my garage at my house. I am the only driver of my car and i always double check that my car is locked before I walk away from it. I called the manager of the store to inform him he has thieves working in his shop. I wasn't expecting much but he didn't not even offer a coupon, not that I would come back to his store to use it. If his employees don't care enough about their job they are willing to steal $15 out of my car, I am worried if they cared enough about their job to complete my oil change properly. If I could give this place zero stars I would. The fleet service my company uses had my company truck towed there once in 2016 because it wouldn't start. What started off as "it'll take one day to fix" quickly turned into "it'll be ready tomorrow" and "we'll call you back after lunch." Finally, 8 days and many phone calls later, I got the truck back. It took these guys over a week to diagnose and fix a bad fuel pump. But wait there's more-- after finally receiving the truck back I noticed there were around $400 worth of tools missing out of the covered bed. I confronted them and the denied it. Definitely WOULD NOT recommend. Now for my second and most recent (July 2017) experience. My Volkswagen Jetta broke down on the way home from the movies. I googled the symptoms and decided it was the shift linkage cables. Given that Tires plus was the closest garage to my apartment and it seemed to be a simple fix, I decided to have it towed there. After my car was there for a couple days they finally took a look at it and decided that there was 'something' wrong with the transmission, but they couldn't tell what. The solution would be to 1. Buy a new transmission 2. Buy a used transmission or 3. Have them pull it out and send it off to be diagnosed, all of which would cost me no less that $2000 after labor. And that's "if we get in there and don't see anything wrong with the clutch or anything else." After not liking the price I was quoted and not believing them, I decided to have my car towed to PepBoys down the street for a second opinion. It turns out the issue was the shift linkage cables, just like I suggested to Tires Plus. After having them swapped out and not paying anywhere close to $2000, my Jetta is running strong again. STAY AWAY FROM THESE PHONIES. You will be sorry you went there. read more

I was in a jam.... Came out from Doctor appt with little time to get to work and my tire was FLAT, I had no spare, no jack, let my triple A service lapse a few months back and I'm fairly new to the area! I know... poor planning on my part! Anyway after numerous calls (maybe 6 stores called in all!) from the phone book as I sat curbside stressed out and with every call I was told the tire stores had "no service trucks"... Well when I called Tires Plus and spoke to Nick and then to Steve; I felt hope. They referred me to Source of Solutions Towing, telling me they are excellent and fair... and if I could get my car there, they'd sell me a tire and have me back on the road in a jif! I did as they suggested... they were right the towing company (see the review) was AWESOME and once I got to Tires Plus they checked me in, even included the towing charge to streamline the experience and.... as promised had me on the road in under an hour..... AND the tires was $20 LESS that what I paid for my last one for same car at Tire Kingdom! So Yay! I highly recommend! And they have magazines, coffee, water and a tv to make the waiting experience less boring! read more

This was the worst auto repair experience I ever had. I took my car in for a simple but expensive repair. I told the technician exactly what I wanted. I was told that I would receive a phone call with the results of the scan check to see if I was correct on what I wanted to be FIXED. Six hours went by and no phone call. I thought I should take the 20 minute walk back before they close because I needed my car back to drive to my new job in the morning. When I got there the technician said that he tried to call me but it was the wrong number. I had him call me again while I was standing there and my phone rang. So he lied. His excuse was since he could not get a hold of me the work I wanted done did not get done and they were about to close. NO APOLOGY GIVEN! So now my car is not safe to drive to my new job that I'm starting in the morning. Totally wasted day. What the F***! read more

I have been to this location multiple times with both of my cars. Mr. Bill Powell and his staff are ALWAYS courteous and professional. My repairs are always within reason and there are no hidden costs. One time, I asked why the tire I purchased was slightly more than anticipated. I was told it was a charge for my tire pressure management system. When I explained to the employee / cashier that my 2000 Saturn does not have a TPMS, since he had already completed the transaction, he gave me a coupon for a free oil change. I returned a few days late and received a 100% totally free oil change (full synthetic) for my 2009 Corolla. Instead of dreading taking my cars in for repairs, I actually don't mind, because I know I will be dealing with a staff of courteous professionals. Thank You, Mr. Powell & team. read more

FEMALES BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!! The only reason I have a one star is because there's no option for no stars. I'm surprised by all the good reviews because I had a very bad experience at the tires plus Baymeadows location. I went to them because my car had a funny smoky smell coming out of my right side and though they seemed very eager to help, they turned out to be the stereotypical sleezy mechanic shop that will take advantage of a seemingly inexperienced female customer. After waiting about 2.5 hours, a young smiley guy brought me to the garage, where my car was raised and proceeded to point out all the stuff I needed to fix. Now I do drive an old car that needs some work, and he was right about some of it. However he proceeded to let me know that my right side caliper was broken and needed fixing. He also mentioned that my brake pads and rotor needed to be replaced along with the caliper. On top of that he advised me to fix the left side as well and drafted me a price of over $600. I told him I would focus on the right side and he then brought the price down to $533. Now this is the kicker....... HE NEVER REMOVED MY TIRE...... How can you tell that the brake pads and rotor and caliper are all very badly broken down without taking the tire off????????? By this time I had spent 3 hours of my Saturday at the mechanic shop only to get lied to. For all the females especially young females, be very weary of all the stuff they tell you is wrong with your car. Bring a guy or do your research before spending time and money on crooks........ read more
