This letter, that I wrote to Tires Plus, explains it all: Several months ago, I needed to have a nail removed from my tire and the tire plugged. I went to Lube Express where I get my oil changed, they recognized me as a regular customer and fixed my tire for $10. It took about 5 minutes. Today, I needed the same repair done so I took it to your store on South Dale Mabry in Tampa, FL. It took almost an hour and cost $31.00. The personality -challenged person who waited on me, neglected to tell me that I was going to get a free "courtesy check", had he done so, I would have refused as I was in a hurry. It should be noted that there were numerous bays open and several mechanics available. It should also be noted that I informed the personality-challenged counter person that I just recently (in April) had these tires put on at their location . I also had other work done to the tune of about $1300. So that begs the question; if an oil and filter shop will give a guy a break because he spends $40 every few months, why can't (won't) a full service garage do the same for a customer who just spent over $1300? And that, leads to this question; which business do you think has seen the last of my money? I will be posting this letter on social media and sites such as Yelp. read more

Update from my post on 12/09/2016 I received a call from the manager of the Tires Plus I had the bad experience with. He was extremely apologetic, and offered to complete my inspection for free, as well as a free oil change. I showed up at my appointment time, and the associate who had been so flippant in my previous experience was very attentive. I was in and out in a good amount of time. Thank you for making this right, Tires Plus. Original Post: Just had one of the worst customer service experiences of my life at this store. I went in yesterday to get an inspection completed for Uber and was told I needed an appointment. I wasn't thrilled, but I made the appointment for today at 5pm. I arrived at 5pm this evening and gave all my information to the guy at the counter and took a seat. At 5:45p, I realized that no employees had been in the lobby for a while and a new customer had been waiting for several minutes with no attention. I went outside and saw my car was still in the same spot where I'd left it. I went to the garage door where I found the guy from the front desk sitting with one of the mechanics. When I expressed my displeasure at having been on time for my appointment and having nothing done in almost an hour, he informed me that there was only one mechanic on duty who could complete the inspection and he was working on another appointment at the moment. I told him that I wanted my keys back and to cancel my service order. It is absolutely appalling to have someone make an appointment and not have the courtesy to let them know that it will be over an hour before they will be seen. I could have decided much earlier on that I couldn't wait that long tonight and scheduled for another time. Instead, I will never use a Tires Plus again as they seemed more interested in hanging out than taking care of their customers. read more

Highly recommend this location. I brought my car in for an alignment on a busy day, and they were extremely courteous and fair priced. Although it was busy, Robert (the manager), kept me informed about the progress and the wait time. I was so impressed, I brought my car back for an oil change and received the same great service and fair price. It is so nice to have found an automotive place that is customer service oriented. I have been using Tire Plus for a few years now, have credit account with them and feel good because the were really serious professionals. Guess what? Unfortunately disappointed, a few months ago I had a $700 breaks repair in Kennedy store that turned in coming back for redone, had an appointment today for oil change and alignment check and is one hour and a half and am still setting waiting. when I walked to check my car found nobody working on it they were unloading a large truck full of new tires. Also customers to work area glass windows were covered with all kinds of things obviously they don't like transparency, a walked out ten minutes before two hours of waiting, they loosen the shine. read more

Wish i could do 0 stars. Literally bought 4 new tires and have had to get air in my driver side tire 3 times in the past 3 months and they keep telling me its the weather change thats causing it. Lmao. Bullshit i lived in ohio for years and never had a problem like that with tires. Also didn't know i wasnt suppose to get charged for any kind of work on my tires yet they charged me $22.46 which is on my bank statement yet they cant find it in the computer anywhere. I had an alignment and tire rotation and balancing. They did the work within the scheduled two-hour block. They did not try and upsell me. They identified that my front wheels had a lot of play/movement in them and suggested having the wheel bearings repacked, but they did not push this. I took my vehicle back to the mechanic that had recently repacked the wheel bearings and he confirmed that his mechanic hadn't gotten the nut seated just right and so he corrected the oversight. Thanks to Tires Plus for identifying the problem, but not overblowing it. Their package for 3-year alignment is a good deal. The dealership won't give you a multi-year (or even 1-year) alignment package. Also, their life of the tires balance and rotation is a good deal too. Only a couple of minor things. Their website says they'll give you a before and after alignment report. They didn't do that for me. The second thing is that their front desk customer service could be a bit "friendlier" when providing information. But, considering that they didn't try and oversell me, these are very minor issues. read more

Took a tire with a slow leak to get patched....they said it could not be patched and i needed a new tire they could sell me for $175....took tire to goodyear and they patched it.....2 weeks later and tire is still fine....incompetent or dishonest.... read more

I have had bad experience with them before, but this time I decided to come back for oil change and tire rotation because I have a coupon. I usually marked down because sometimes they forget to do it. This time they did not do it, I asked the mechanics guy but he said he did and told his co-worker "this guy doesn't understand English" and refused to do tire rotation. This is so so bad. read more

I have been going to Tires Plus since I lived in Atlanta(20 years). I took my car to get an oil change, tire rotation, alignment and asked to have the car inspected. They came back saying it needed a front barring, and a new battery. As soon as I said the battery was under warranty, Ah the battery actually looked ok. Later he told me they dont want to replace the battery until its dead because they have to take it out, recharge and test it, THATS JUST LAZY. They then told me the tires could not be rotated because they could not find the tool to unlock wheel. However they could get the wheel off to fix the barring and charge $500. Well a week later the battery they didnt change went bad, I took it back to have replaced under warranty. They gave me the same BS about the tire locks. He promised he would figure it out. He said he did but he didnt. After having words when I dropped the truck off I felt bad and grabbed the office some McDonalds the next day. As soon as I got home I looked at the tires which I had marked when I dropped off and they didnt rotate them. Its just that they are lazy and liars. They knew the battery was bad and would rather not do anything about it. They said they rotated the tires and clearly didnt. Did they align the car? Did they fix the barring? Who knows. Now I have to take it to a dealer to find out. Look at their rating before you go. Sucks when you are loyal and it doesnt matter. Caveat emptor. Last note, it sucks to have to post these comments. I've had an axe to grind with these guys for a while. Had ac drained and recharged with no issues. Had tires replaced with appointment and in stock tires, advertised as 90 minutes or less, if not I think is was $90 taken off. Took them three hours and they were supposed to put one rim in trunk with already new tire ( it was my spare). They took the new tire off of a new rim and put tire on old rusty rim. Didn't even balance it like it was already done. The instructions were pretty simple. Take rim out of trunk with bad tire, put new tire on it, take new tire with rim that was on car and put in trunk. Then came the best part. They gave me grief about what they advertised because " I didn't bring it up " um, was advertised as appointment, check, tires in stock, check, maybe they should know what their specials are. They ended up honoring their advertisement. Long story short, went back with signal electrical short ( safety hazard ). After three hours they could not figure it out. Gave me quote for leaking struts. Now why would I fix that on a car that is not 100% street safe???? I had to come back so I went home and went online. The next day I fixed it with tools from glove box , just simple things I had in car. Took me 3 minuets to fix. I called them out and they refunded back the majority of the money ( didn't give me a hard time ). Only charged me the original check which was more then fair. They are always really nice, but always push other things. I get it since they are a chain store. With chains it's profits, profits, profits. I go to family owned place now or perform work myself. They are not bad, but if you are not car savy then you may fall for the upsale gimmicks. read more

Reveiw about my experience at tires plus: 3627 S Dale Mabry Hwy Tampa, FL 33629 I wish i red some of the reviews before i went to this place. They miss diagnose the issue in my car, making me pay $1500 on other things that have nothing to do with the issue in my car, i went to an other location in st petersburg just to find out that i still have the same issue with the car because it was never fixed to start with. I called their 800 number to complain, they said that the area manager will call me after 48 hours, when i got the call it was someone from the store i m complaining about. Poor customer service. I only could afford the $1500 after they suggegsted that i apply for their credit card, i was approved for $1600 that i m still paying for for nothing. They took advantage of me because i don't know much about mechanic. I called today again they said this time the region manager will call me, they couldn't even get the area manager to call? Bad company, i will never go to them again. I'm not asking anyone who reads this review to don't go to this place, but i want to share my experience. I'm on the internet all the time, i m blaming my self for not knowing that this place has other unhappy customers and can't even hold few stars online I'm giving one star just because i can t give them 0, they deserve a 0 because of all the money i spent there and my car still shuts down by itself while i'm driving. read more

I had a screw in my tire and went to one tire repair place and was told I needed a new tire. I then went to Tires Plus and upon further inspection the screw was easily removed and had not punctured my tire at all! They did not even charge me! Great customer service-I will definitely go back with any other tire issues! read more

I made an appointment for 9am to have 3 new tires put in. I arrived at 8:30am. They added extra labor and more fees when I clearly had the exact quote from their online quote pricing. I was told to come back in an one hour and a half. When I came back, the car was still not done. I waited another 45 mins. When I finally I was fed up, I told them to give me my car, they pulled the car in and put new tires and balanced in 10 mins. Worst service. I would not recommend. read more

If 0 were an option I would have choose that. Made an appointment on Thursday to drop my car off Saturday before close to have it fixed and picked up on Sunday before close (work M-F needed car for work). Dropped off as scheduled and didn't hear anything so I called about 2pm (they open at 9am) to get update and determine pick up time. I was told by Jason the car was "just getting pulled back and wasn't going to be ready" I now had to find transportation to work the next day and get my work gear required to perform my job was in my car. So I remained calm and asked Jason if I needed to get there before close to grab items out of my car for work the next day and he assure me he would leave the car outside to I could have access to it on my way to work which was before they opened to get my required gear. He assured me they would put the tires back on the vehicle and have it outside so I could access it. Well at 01:30 am on my way to work after getting alternative transportation I go out of my way there and Yep you guessed it, the vehicle was locked in the bay, still on the rack. Now I have had to find transportation to work at the last min, gone out of my way to get my equipment out of my car and now I can't access my car as I was assured I would be able to and therefore can't perform my require duties at work. After Tires Plus opened I called and Jason states "yeah we got busy and I didn't get around to it". Car was finally done at 3:30 Monday afternoon and I pick it up and meet Robert Lemus Manager of this South Tampa location. He is rude and sarcastic. He offers no apologies or attempts at service recovery and checks me out at which time I pay my $1600 bill for: Car Care Package (inc. Vehicle Insp., Tire Rotation, Battery Check, Tire Pressure Check), Oil Change, Front & Rear Brakes, C.V. Joints, Shocks & Alignment. Walk to my car and realize THEY DIDN'T EVEN ROTATE MY TIRES!!!! Went back in and before the door closed behind ROBERT LEMUS who again is the MANAGER says "WHAT NOW". I was beyond shocked that I just paid a $1644.59 bill with them and after all this that was his response. I said that the tires haven't been rotated and he responds "Do you want something for free or you want it done" ?!? WTF. Well first of all I PAID for the service. This is the worst interaction I have had in terms of customer service and reliability. I would stay far away unless you crave rudeness, unreliability, frustration and disappointment. Thieves and liars. Also, they are poor mechanics at best. I went to them based out of convenience to where I live. Poor choice on my part. They blew up my engine. This was verified by an independent adjuster brought in to help figure what had happened. Also I was charged $1200 for a fuel rail assembly replacement that they never did. Also verified by the adjuster. Prior to this they never would show me the "old" parts they replaced based on their recommendations. So all that tells me is they never changed anything for new parts. If there was a negative star rating I would pick it. All in all, they cost me $6000. Which I never saw one cent of. These scumbags should never touch your vehicle. Stay away from these criminals. I was getting ready to drive south for a couple of hours (going back home) and my tire pressure light was on. Since I had no one to help and had no idea of how to do this I called around and ended up speaking with Robert at Tires Plus, Dale Mabry Hwy, South Tampa. He could not have been nicer! I went down right away and Charlie waited on me and sent Kevin out to fill my tires immediately. They did not make me wait nor did they charge for their services. These guys are awesome! By far the easiest car experience I have ever had. I worked with Chris and he was great! My check engine light came on earlier in the day so I stopped by on my lunch break to get it checked out. Unlike other places, where I have waited absurd amounts of time Tires Plus was quick and professional. Took my SUV in for routine maint checks. I know have a blown engine.Crank side rod bearing right on through! Gotta be revving it up pretty hard to do that. Tires Plus/BRSO (Bridgestone) You blew the engine in my car?!?!? Oh we're going to file a claim and in 30 - 60 days an "independent" party is going to decide if you're at fault and owe me a motor??
