I really appreciate the store and all of its unique items with affordable prices but it was not until a manager I believe, her name was hilda, and she was treating her coworkers or employees as if they were children By yelling at them and also belittling them as if they were being punished! I was in this part of O.C. & I had a bag in my car with a few items that I needed to return to TJ Maxx. We drove past here and I decided to stop in and do my return (and do some shopping natch). This is a super nice TJ Maxx. I guess I'm just used to that horror show on Harbor Blvd. in Costa Mesa. I walked in the store and...there are no carts. I asked the girls at the front and they said somebody was trying to find some carts but they don't go outside the store so nobody could figure out where all the carts were. Oh no, that won't do, I told the girl...I plan on filling my cart to the brim. She told me that as soon as a cart became available she would bring me one. I browsed around for a little bit as sure enough, the sweet girl brought me over a cart. This store has a huge assortment of brand name facial moisturizers, serums etc. I was in heaven browsing and picking out what I wanted. They also had some Halloween decor, a ton of purses, clothes, baby clothes, kitchen items, towels, sheets, pet supplies...you know...the usual stuff that stores like Ross, Marshall's and TJ Maxx carry (or my holy trinity as I like to say). I found an awesome Ralph Lauren lamp...it was even marked down! You had best believe that that sucker found it's way into my cart. Yeah...me so happy! Do material things bring happiness? Scientists say "no" but in my case, a marked down, dirt cheap (for Ralph Lauren) lamp makes me so, so ha-ha-happy! The parking lot is huge, and face it, this is not the best neighborhood. I walked out to my car in the parking lot behind a bald man who had his entire head tattooed....so utterly charming! Somebody had also thrown a dirty diaper right next to my car. Dirt cheap Ralph Lauren lamp = me so happy Used dirty diaper thrown right next to my car = some people are just pigs I'm never in this area but if I ever come back I will hit this store up. I'm a pretty frugal person and this place suits me great. That was a pun....did you catch it? It "suits" me great? Ba dum tss. ANY WAY, I feel like going on a treasure hunt when I'm here. They have some surprisingly good brands here and for a fraction of the cost. The place is very clean and quite organized. The only downside is they didn't have men's shoes which is what I was kind of hoping for. For everything other need, they meet it pretty well I"d say. They have clothes of all types including casual, active wear, and dress shirts. I bought a few V necks for under 10 bucks and I thought it was a great find. I just think of the store Ross but a bit higher end. I also bought a decent watch which retailed for $100+ for $40. Anyhow, I definitely think people should shop here at least once because I think they'll be surprised at what they'll find. read more

I'm an all around big fan of TJ Maxx. They have a great selection of handbags, clothing, and home goods. Ad soon as I walk in, I immediately run to the bags and I end up making my way to the home goods. This store is really hit or miss for me. Sometimes it's clean and sometimes it's a big disaster. Sometimes you find exactly what you need, and then some and then sometimes you have to go looking a little bit harder to find exactly what you want. As far as interaction with employees, it's rare and usually the only time I see an employee is when I'm checking out. That being said, when I end up at TJ Maxx and find what I want I usually end up spending at least $25 here. The location is convenient and the product pretty much sells itself. read more

It would be nice if they carried clothes that fit bodies larger than a size 4. I came in the other day and must have walked around for 20 minutes looking for women's dresses. Lots of junior dresses but only one very small rack for women's and even then the sizes were small. At least this place is cleaner than the Ross next door. read more

I love TJ Maxx. They have a Clippers jersey that I recently paid $45 for and got Blake Superior's jersey here for $30. They have a wide selection of clothing and quite a bit of men's which is rare. They also have a great selection of home good stuff in the back. 4 out of 5 stars. Only reason why I didn't give it a 5 star review is because the location sucks for me and the shoppers there aren't really OC's finest. read more

This specific TJ Maxx is very organized and clean. I have always been extremely satisfied with their selection and prices. The only reason why I am not giving them a 5 star rating is because I purchased one of those... 4 wheeler suitcases for $79.99. I was on an extremely long trip in Europe (about 20 days) and it broke the first day I got there! I returned it after my trip, hoping to get my money back, but they wouldn't exchange it :( Otherwise, yes, I would definitely go here for any knick-knack, purse, watch, sock, ANYTHING, and I am overall satisfied with the customer service. :) read more

I always drive my Aunt to this location as it's only less than a mile from home . Staff are friendly and store is clean. The only thing I noticed is the items they have in other locations are much better, not sure maybe only for me. My favorite one is located in Irvine as they have more and better style when it comes to ladies hand bags, clothing, fashion jewelry, and snacks! Yes I buy my snacks at TJ's :D I work around there so I would prefer to buy there if needed. Overall this store is just fine. read more

Generally, I had some pleasant enough experiences here. They don't always have what I'm looking for, so I'll go next door to Ross, or up Harbor Blvd to Marshall's. The quality and prices are fair, and you get what you pay for. I've had my share of good finds here as well. Today, I came into the store looking for a cute top and left with more items than I planned on, it happens. However, when I went through my items, putting everything away at home, I noticed the top I came for was missing. Why was this only noticed when I arrived home? Everything had been stuffed into a single, medium-sized bag. A large item hid the fact that I was missing my top. I'm hoping this will be fixed when I return, since they are now closed, so I have to wait until tomorrow. I'll update soon on whether or not, they will correct this error. read more

TJ Maxx advertises that you can purchase designer brands in their store for up to 60% off department store prices and that's what they deliver. Shopping at TJ Maxx feels a lot more like shopping at a department store than at their closest competitors Ross and Marshalls. This TJ Maxx is located next door to a Ross store making it very easy to compare the two. The store is more attractively merchandised, the aisles are wider, and the store cleaner at TJ Maxx. The clothes even seemed more upscale than at its neighbor. I really felt like I'd wandered into a discount department store rather than into a bargain basement store as I did when shopping at Ross. The clothes appeared to be somewhat cheaper at Ross, but so did the quality of the clothes. I guess it's a tradeoff. Here you get a nicer shopping experience and nicer clothes at a slightly higher cost, but still well below department store prices. If you're looking to get a good deal on clothing but don't want to sacrifice the shopping experience to get it, this is your store. They carry fashionable in-season clothes for men, women, and children as well as accessories and even good for your home. I enjoyed my browsing on this visit but didn't find anything I couldn't live without. read more

So I have the understanding that employees aren't allowed to keeps items for themselves before taking it out to the floor. Well that isn't the case I looked everywhere for Rae Dunn Christmas items and I mean I looked and the employee that assisted me with a few questions that I had earlier then came out later with Rae Dunn Christmas items that were not out on the floor. She was off from her shift at this time and went to purchased them. But before she went to buy them I asked her where did you get these from? And she said where I told you to look and I said well I did and those weren't there and she looked nervous and acted as if I was dumb. So I guess employees get to put aside what they want and don't need to go through what we do. I believe this isn't fair and the manager shouldn't allowed them to this. This store needs better employees and management and be fair to the shoppers. Shame on them! read more

I went here as i always do, intending to browse around and ended up with a cart full of clothes and other "what-nots." This place is amazing and you'll find stuff here you didn't know you wanted/needed but it's just so dang affordable! When you have the time and the patience to shop come here and let the hunt begin (that is half the fun, after all) I recommend going when they first open to avoid the crowds and this is when the shop is its cleanliest. read more

I love this store, always clean, friendly staff. I go in looking for one particular item and come out with a full cart. I don't know why that always happens. Yesterday I went on a mission, find a small purse to store my cell phone and keys only. I didn't even grab a cart. I had my toddler with me, but ind the style of purse I was looking for but found a pair of shoes and other items which I was carrying. Somewhere along the way I left my cell phone and keys! Ahh!!! Panicked I grabbed my toddler retracked my steps and nothing. I rushed towards the cashiers and asked if anyone had returned my stuff or if anyone could help me find my lost items. The nice young supervisor said oh we have your items they were returned by another customer. I was so relieved, my cell phone case carries my credit cards. Phew, I felt so relieved...Great store and staff will be coming here more often. read more

This TJ Maxx is hit or miss. Sometimes they have lots of great things in stock, and other times there isn't anything worthwhile at all. Still, my daughter has found some really great stuff for my apartment (and her house too) at this store. It's worth a walk through every once in a while to see if anything catches the eye. read more

I went in this weekend in search for a new wardrobe. I was looking for shoes, accessories, personal beauty care products, clothes etc. basically anything I can get my hands on that would be beneficial for this upcoming college year. Thanks to Denisse, i had a GREAT experience, not only did she have no problem directing me to what I was looking for but she helped me look for my size and even gave me her personal opinion about the items i picked! it was like i had brought a friend along with me. Denisse was very friendly and super sweet. She had no hesitation accommodating to any of my needs. I left very happy and with a lot of items i didn't have the intention to buy, but I'm so glad that she helped me find them! I'm very excited to piece them all together! If I could give zero Stars I would. Yesterday my best friend and I visited this T.J.Maxx. I specifically went in there to look at their phone cases, sunglasses ,and shoes. I have a 10 month old baby and a three-year-old. When I go shopping I usually have to take my stroller in order to better supervise my children and keep them safe and close to reach. It is a double stroller and it's pretty big. For some reason I noticed in these types of stores if you have a stroller they automatically assume you are stealing which is totally uncalled for. Not all of us who have a stroller have stealing in mind ! It has nothing to do with your store it is for our kids safety and it really is none of your business what we bring for our kids or how we bring our children in your store. Right when I walked in I had seen the security say something in his ear piece which obviously means to watch me... It was so freaking obvious!! I went straight over to look at the glasses I was completely being watched the whole time by the woman that was working the dressing room. She was so obvious and it was so uncomfortable and unwelcoming but I said screw it and continued to look at the glasses and picked a pair. Then I decided to look at some shoes didnt find anything i liked. I had passed by her again and I seen her look at me again and say something in her ear piece. I could tell I was being watched it's becoming more insulting and more uncomfortable at this point. Then I met up with my best friend at the front counter and we were looking at the phone cases they are all mixed up and obviously not well maintained so it took a while to find what I wanted. To the left of us i felt someone watching us so i look over and it is some kind of superviser or someone of management literally standing just staring at us the whole entire time.Not doing anything but that!!! At this point I wanted to say screw this and just leave but I really wanted the glasses I had found, and I wanted a phone case so I just dealt with it. Then once I went to check out I seen the cashier who was checking me out listening to the earpiece and I seen her look in my stroller right after acting like she was complimenting my kids!!! My best friend works in retail that is similar to this business and he said they think you're stealing their going to look in your stroller out loud just to show them how obvious they were being! She pretended not to hear him and kept on with her bullshit fake ass complements. Point being I will never come into the store again I will never be insulted or feel so uncomfortable like this ever again! Its unacceptable how I was treated! it's ridiculous how these people act, don't just assume someone is stealing because they have two children in a stroller its ridiculous! read more
