Don't get me wrong, I love TJ Maxx. What I don't love is how disorganized they are. Earlier this month I gave an application to one employee (I believe her name was Glosy) since the hiring manager wasn't in. She didn't really seem to know what was going on, so I had a slight feeling that it wouldn't make it to the hiring manager immediately. I called asking the manager if he ever received it, turns out he never did, my suspicions were correct. I also know someone who has worked here at this specific store and they said she was awful. Probably lost it somewhere behind the counter. Please find staff that are responsible and aware of what they are doing! read more

I had the worst experience yesterday as a customer. I first came to the store around 6pm with my mom. While we were shopping I saw a shirt I bought 7 days ago, a shirt that was one size too big for me. But I bought it anyways because I thought I can just tailor it myself, and make it fit. Anyways, so this shirt I saw was in the perfect size but it was marked up to $50.00 instead of the $25.00 I paid for the same exact shirt a week ago. It wasn't there last time, so I asked two different employees if I can bring my shirt and exchange it for the right size, but for the same price. Both the employees said yes, absolutely. So I put that shirt on hold and drove back house to get my shirt and drove back to exchange it. Well I was about to do the exchange when the rude supervisor told me I can't exchange it because that shirt isn't there same price anymore. I thought it was the most illogical and dumbest thing ever for her to say that, since it's literally the same shirt. I bought up the fact that I checked with two other employees about the exchange so that I wouldn't waste my time with the return in case they do not price match. She kept insisting I couldn't have the shirt price matched. If this is truly a policy that TJ Maxx has, then I think it's incredibly stupid, and very poor practice. It made me a very upset customer. I also just returned the shirt altogether because of how angry I got over this stupid "policy" of theirs. You've lost a frequent customer over such a stupid thing! read more

The woman who was my cashier today was awful, she was an Indian woman with a horrible attitude and terrible customer service skills. I spent about $200 and asked to keep 2 of the hangers and she rolled her eyes and asked her manager if I could keep them as if it was some big issue. She tells me my total and I pay and she tells me to have a nice day. Doesn't make any kind of moves towards handing me the bags or make a gesture to move them towards me. The customer before me almost forgot an entire bag of her things because of this cashiers laziness. Being a previous cashier, I would never act this way. Then I get home and one of my shirts was missing!! I called and the lady on the phone was so nice and helpful and they found my shirt and put it on hold for me to pick it up. I love to shop at TJ Maxx. The one in Bloomingdale is a higher volume store and has a lot inventory with great designers. I shop here weekly and always get great deals. Down side is that you need to have time to go through this store and the lines are always long. read more

I only ever go into this store if I feel like stopping in but never really find anything. I feel like it's just gotten worse and worse. I had found some boots I thought were nice so I bought them about a month ago. I brought them home and took the tags off when I tried them on thinking I would keep them. I decided they weren't for me and that they were quite uncomfortable. I still had the receipt knowing I would return them and had time before the 30 days but never could find time until today (few days before the 30 days). I went into the store today only to have been scolded for taking off the tags (I honestly did think i would keep them) and making me feel like I was lying about returning my boots that I clearly never wore because they had the size 9 stickers on them still in perfect condition. Why wouldn't I take those off?! I believe she was the supervisor and she was incredibly rude. If she felt like I was lying she could have given me store credit or not let me return them instead of being cold and condescending to me. I don't know what happened to good customer service but I too come from a customer service background for many years and I have never treated anyone or spoke to anyone that way. I think people like this supervisor need not work in customer service if they will treat people this way. I will avoid this store if it means never having to deal with her ever again. Learn how to treat your customers with respect because we are the reason why the store continues to be in business anyways. read more

After returning tops sat.july 1 2017,I was given a gift card instead of cash.I shopped in the store and found a pair of shoes I wanted to buy.I went to pay with my gift card in the amount of 27.93.The shoes were 21.00,after giving my gift card, I was told the gift card was only 6.00.They got a mgn. Christin and told me I would have to go home and call a 800.phone number to figure it out.I couldn't believe my ears.The mgn.helped me with the return and is telling me this nonsence.Very bad customer service.Will never shop there again. read more

Love Homegoods....usually! Had a bad experience today and sadly the lady who dealt with me had no customer service skills which was very disappointing. Even worse, she was the store manager! I wanted to purchase a chair that cost $349.00 but when we loaded it onto the cart it had a gauge taken out of the back leg which had been hidden while it was on display. I showed the manager who was just so beyond rude, dismissive and condescending that I couldn't bring myself to pay for the item in the end. Had she handled the situation nicely and treated me with more respect, I totally would have bought it. Not likely to visit this store again. I absolutely love shopping here. They have everythng i need wether its for a female or male. Name brands for less. The only thing i will complain about is that twice in one week i went to tj maxx and came home and items that i have purchased were not in my bag. Thankfully we recieved a 20 dollar credit for our inconvience for not just once i had to drive back but twice. Still will shop here but the employees are careless. read more

I purchased a curio cabinet from Homegoods on Friday Oct. 3rd. My mini van was to small to transport the cabinet. On Saturday Oct. 4th I rented a large moving van. My husband went to pick up the cabinet. The Homegoods employees put the cabinet in the van and my husband drove off. Now, my husband is about as observant as a chair, so didn't check the cabinet for damage before leaving. When he got it home, he and my brother got it out of the van. There was a hole in the back of the cabinet. It was raining so i had them bring it in to see if I could repair it . The hole could only be repaired by a professional. I then looked at the rest of the cabinet. There is a nick on the top, the doors had been smashed off track, there is a nick by a drawer and one of the glass shelves was broken. I called the store manager. From her attitude, she could care less. I got the impression that she was angry that her employees had to handle the cabinet. She told me to return the cabinet. If you are familiar with Homegoods, often you can not get a piece of furniture replaced. They may have only received one and will never get another of that kind. Since I couldn't return the cabinet that day, I would have to rent the van again, and take another hour and a half to get the van, load the cabinet, bring the cabinet back and return the van. That is 100.00 dollars to rent the van twice (30.00 plus mileage and equipment). I said I would return the cabinet on Monday. That day wasn't good for her. She said I could only return it when she had the personnel to unload the cabinet. Now, if a store sells furniture, I really think they should employee people for the furniture department, capable of handling furniture. Also, I don't think the customer should have to accommodate the store personnel. read more

I have bought many items from this store and just loved them, but beware, if you need to return just one item be prepared to be treated exactly like garbage. I was waiting in line at the customer service desk for 10 minutes. I was next in line when this girl runs into the store with her return and sets it on the counter in front of the clerk. The clerk stops what shes doiing and assists her. The girl says, " Oh, I have cut in line." The clerk said with a smile on her face, " Oh, that's ok, no big deal." I think to myself no big deal, I guess no one else has anything better to do than wait for this "Princess" to helped first. Better yet, when the clerk is done helping the girl (oh I meant "Princess) the clerk looks me in eye and walks away and leaves me standing in line to be helped by the next clerk. I am tired of the arogance of some individuals that think lines are not for them and the clerks that enable this behavior. Later, I informed the manager and she told me that it was not policy to remind customers that there is a line. She said and I quote, " That would be rude." I consider myself a patient person and I have not problem waiting my turn in line but I think this is rather ridiculus. Apparently, low priced merchandise is all this store has. read more

It is pretty bad when a department store screws up and won't help out its customer. My wife purchased a baby Carters outfit back in November as a Christmas gift for our nephew. However, when she went to wrap it up as a gift yesterday we found the security tag still attached but obviously deactivated since the alarm did not go off when she left the store. So the cashier rung up the item, deactivated the tag but forgot to remove it. Thus, TJ Maxx is liable to help us out. However, my wife never had any intention of returning the item and hates receipts so she discarded it when she arrived at home that day, never noticing the security tag attached until now. The manager was completely unhelpful over the phone or whomever I talked to. It is completely their fault the tag was removed but they won't let me come in to get it removed. RIDICULOUS! I will never shop there again. I am sure i can provide proof of purchase with a credit card printout but it would not have the individual items on it. TJ Maxx you get a big fat ZERO for not helping your customer out. These are the kind of things that in the long run kills a retail store and this one can go down burning for all I care. read more
