Grand Opening! My expectations of this store and location thought that it would be as good or better than the one in La Canyada... NOPE! Just the first day they had opened it, was the only day that everything was brand names and very well stocked. Now... I'd rather go to Marshalls next door. They are low stocked of items, rude service, and worse organized than ROSS! Yup... worse than ROSS! They also lack in clothing... why are they still open? I wish that a Marshalls Shoe MegaShop would come here instead. This is a very serious review peeps, pay atrention and I hopw I can Explain myself. So I came to return a give from Christmas. Shoes fit me too big. I had the gift receipt. It total 43.and cents. I asked if I can get cash I was told no. Only store credit. Ok! So I got a gift card. So as I was leaving I changed my mind and stayat the store and I got me some other stuff ( That I dont really need.) As I get to the cashiers to pay. I hand her the same gift card which remember it has $43. and cents. My total was $47. and cents and the cashiers advise me that thw gift card only has $35.00 are you following me. So if I was to left the store and use the gift card some other day. I would of have been rip off from this store $8.50 to be exact. I asked to speak to manager. A very disrespectful women. TJ Maxx - Department Stores Near Me - Burbank, California

I have far better luck at the TJ Maxx on Ventura Blvd in Sherman Oaks. I had a few minutes to spare before my nail appointment, so I popped in. I am not a big fan of this store. For some reason I never find anything, but today I found a little purse that I liked and some kids nail stickers, so it wasn't a total loss. The Ventura Blvd. store in Sherman Oaks is my go to TJ Maxx. This store has a lot of stuff in it, but it is mostly bunched up on iil-conceived racks sort of by size. Why don't they have a skirt section? Anyway, the store feels big and boxy with all the racks of clothes, again if you find a bargain it's worth it. 5 stars. Great prices. Excellent selection. Ultra organized store. Wonderful location. But... here's why I am leaving a 5 star review - the customer service is fantastic. On a VERY rare occasion, I walked into this store while on the phone. I usually don't walk around on the phone in public. While most people find this acceptable, I think it's vulgar and impolite. However, a friend of mine was in the middle of a very sensitive story - therefore, instead of calling her back, I finished the conversation while I began my shopping. I wear glasses when driving and in a haste to get into the store, I neglected to take them off. At some point, while looking at the wonderful rugs, my glasses must have slipped off. I started to open and lay out the rugs on the floor to see how they looked in full. I made a selection, purchased the rug and left. After getting back into the car, apparently I grabbed my "back up" pair of glasses (not even realizing it) and drove home. The next day (a Monday) - it occurred to me - wow, these are not my regular glasses!! Oh no... what happened to them? Wait, I think I had them on at TJ Maxx. I work on the Westside and reside in East Valley so getting back to the store just to check was going to be a hassle - but glasses are expensive. And, if I am shopping at TJ Maxx - you better believe I am on a budget. I called over to the store and asked if they may have found a pair of glasses - small, kids size, etc... I left my name and number - hoping to receive word back - but, ultimately thinking they are gone forever. Would you believe they were FOUND and one of the employees even contacted me letting me know she would hold them at the front for me?! I was thrilled. So surprised and happy wrapped together. It's all about the home goods section! I was able to find ice cube trays, a Kitchenaide ice cream scooper, and 2 containers to freeze homemade ice cream in for CHEAP! I also like to get workout socks here. I got a few pairs of Puma socks for really cheap. They are great for Bar Method. Parking is convenient here. They have a huge lot. read more

TJ Maxx! I actually prefer it in many ways to the Marshall's next door. Yes, Marshall's does have more "stuff," I feel.. but TJ Maxx is quicker, and cleaner, and less crowded. All pluses. There are a few things they sell in both stores, so if I'm in a hurry, I'll just get it from TJ Maxx rather than Marshall's. I actually get a real kick out of scavenging the clearance sections (especially the makeup/beauty) sections there. I've gotten some good deals on stuff like Pacifica Body Butter (normally $14 elsewhere, $3 - $5 here on clearance), etc. The parking is usually ok, and they're really pet friendly (yes, I am one of those people who drags my dog everywhere with me). TJMax in La CanadaI was there to purchase two suitcases for my husband his trips he'll be making to China several time a year. I found two of the size my husband asked for. The big bold tag said 69.99. I took them to the register to pay. The cashier rang them up as 89.99 each. I said that's not right. The tags said on sale for $69.99 she said I looked at the wrong tag. We don't honor manufacturer price tags. I snapped a few shots of the Mis-marked suitcases. I then pulled my belongings together and marched out never to return! Target is a much better store. They are very good with price clashing issues. Now I'm telling everyone I know to boycott TJ Max! Jerk with his made up store policy has got to go! read more

They have a great section for pet toys, beds, and other pet related items. They are much less expensive than going to Petco or even purchasing items online. I picked up a rain coat and hat for my dog and they actually fit him perfectly, which is rare because he is an 85-pound pit bull and he has a huge chest. They also carry the Chuck-it balls for about $4, they sell for a minimum of $9 at Petco. TJ Maxx is great for kitchen items as well, and I love their gourmet food section spices, tea and flavored oils. Everything I have purchased in that section has always been fresh and interesting. It is also a good place to purchase toddler clothing. They have cute seasonal outfits for much less than Target and they are a much better quality. I am definitely a Maxxinista! I always find great deals and cute things here. This isn't my favorite TJ Maxx but I live close to this one. The store itself is great. I have bought everything from clothes, shoes, purses, bathroom stuff, and much more... but the customer service here is not that great. Try to go during the weekdays (I think it's Tues or Thurs) because that is when they are usually stocking the store with their new items. So, you will definitely get the first look at the new merchandise. I like to go and ask a clerk on which day they get their stock... I'm only interested in the kitchen section at TJ Maxx. I usually find great things. Got a saucepan last time and I'm always stocking up on real English tea (Yorkshire, Cuppa, etc). On this specific occasion, I wanted to get a spring-form pan to bake an awesome torta di ricotta (incredible Italian cheesecake). I've seen them at this TJM before, but alas, there were none to be procured on this venture. I ended up getting other doo-dads, so I suppose it's okay. Hit or miss type of place. read more

This is the funniest things ever. So on Sunday Sept 19,2021. I was in TJ and me and my friend noticed a guy secretly starting to steal all the name brand men's clothing off the racks. Balmain $270 shirt Versace and Balenziaga shits. We went to the front worst to tell her then went to the cash refugiarse to tell the manger. They just watched and watched. So about 30 mins later we finally walked out after paying. The guy walks out right after we do. With all the items I mean walked. No a blink. No running and didn't even get in a car just walked. I walked back inside shocked and asked the girls at the front. "You know he just walked out with these items?" They all laughed and said yes. And shrugged their shoulders. I was like damn. Let me return all my items since you don't have to pay for anything here. I mean this guy walked out with 15 or more shirts. And a suitcase he took also. Every shirt was higher name brand. The cooperate needs to really talk to their staff I mean I'm not saying chase the guy down but they didn't even call security or the cops They had plenty of time. read more

Love love love TJ Maxx, i've found some of the most amazing things for super cheap. That being said, I'm not particularly fond of this location. It's smaller than a lot of other tj maxx's i've been to, selection of items is pretty slim and it's super unorganized. I've been to this location a handful of times and not once was I approached by the employee's asking if I needed any help. They're always either too busy stocking something or walking around the store making sure nothing gets stolen, or talking amongst themselves completely ignoring the customers. Usually there's about 2 area's i'll check out as soon as I walk in to a TJ's, the bath and beauty section and the fitness section. Both sections completely unorganized at this location, products open or spilled all over the shelves, cramped area, not that much space to walk around. Sometimes I get overwhelmed and want to leave without buying anything. Don't even get me started on the line situation. Even though all cash registers are open, expect at least a 10min wait in line. All in all, i'll keep coming to this tj maxx cause it's the closest to me, and they have great deals on essential oils; which i've been obsessed with lately. read more

I like TJ Maxx. A lot. But the Burbank location has never been up to par with the other locations I have frequented. There have been bad moments here in the past but this last one was inexcusable. The failed body-double for Russell Brand that claims to be the manager is a pretty sad excuse of a leader that would rather put another employee in front of him to avoid conflict. I was being very direct but at no moment was I rude and instead of speaking to me like a professional he fled the scene and put somebody else in front of me who's attitude got better towards the end but still without an appropriate solution to my problem. Really good shopping experience. Good variety of products, from home goods to casual and active wear, to kids' merchandise and pet products. The store is always clean and organized. The staff is always friendly and helpful. I would like to give special recognition to Christine in the dressing room department. She's always upbeat and helpful! I don't know what I was expecting... but I was shocked at how small their inventory was. These kind of stores (the TJ Maxx's, Marshalls, Ross's, Nordstrom Racks) are usually stuffed from top to bottom with all sorts of clothes... and I came in looking for skirts, and they didn't even have a skirt section. I tried on maybe 10 things and I usually have the problem of wanting everything, and I left it all behind. Went here to get my 50s outfit for the Dita Von Teese concert. With 70s so in style rt now (again...ugghhh why) it was sooo hard to find a place that has something appropriate for the House Of Blues for the burlesque show. Most goers dress up in various 50s fashion to rockabilly. Vintage clothes can be expensive, and it's hard to find affordable dresses that aren't utter crap from Amazon. I prefer to support retailers so Amazon doesn't kill all retail. I shop more in person and find it more therapeutic and enjoyable to see the product tangibly. I decided to change my vision. I went with a more feminist icon touch, since it is burlesque...Rosie the riveter when I saw some high waisted gorgeous black shorts (with sailor buttons), and a tiki print with yellow and blue flowers as well as black polka dots (the most 50s aspect) on an orange/melon blouse. The choices can lean a little 40s, but I'll be sure to style my hair, and choose footwear accordingly. Besides with the light weight feel and subtle puff sleeves, it has a "she's her own girl vibe" and "she's not turning back" with the crossing front. I was over the moon with my choices, and I know I'll look vibrant, exotic and fun on a hot summer day at the house of blues channeling Rosie the riveter and feminine icons alike. read more

ABSOLUTE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE AWARD GOES TO: Edvin or Edwin I believe his name was. He obviously knew I was an upset customer since after he "assisted us" he hid his name tag covering it with his hand. To start: This location could use some extra hands on the floor. I tripped over hangers on the floor at least 3 times. I should have received a 1 hour paycheck as most of my time While looking through clothes, I was constantly picking up the hangers and shirts/pants on the floor. My only great experience there was from a gal named Crystal whom helped me while on the floor looking for a shirt and coincidentally she ended up being my cashier 15 minutes later. My BAD experience turned worst as I was paying for a few shirts I found. One of the shirts I was going to buy had a stain on it as if it was ran over by a cart leaving a black stain. Nonetheless, I fell in love with the design and shirt so I asked for assistance in knowing if there was more. This is where Edvin/Edwin came in and helped crystal answer my question/concern of the stain. THE WORST ATTITUDE POSSIBLE he approached Crystals cashier station and said "sorry what we have on the floor is it and NO WE DONT GIVE DISCOUNTS FOR STAINS". And literally walked away as if we were pitiful shoppers/customers. I could not believe his rudeness and cannot believe that TJMaxx would hire/promote someone with this type of attitude. Excellent customer service should be part of retail 101. I know first hand as I have been in his position in the past. I hope this issue is escalated and he is reprimanded for his lack of great customer service. Not to mention after he walked rudely away he then began to speak down to another cashier. I'm not sure how this store can be led with such a person but I hope he is secret shopped so that he can be put in his place and told THIS IS NOT THE WAY TO ACT towards customers or your staff. This is the worst store with the worst customer service waiting for an hour for a price check because they don't price their items... after an hour we are told a price to then walk away and say sorry that's the wrong price and we don't know what the price is sorry ! They turned off all of the lights in the dressing room without giving me any prior indication just prior to store closing. The dressing area was attended by staff so they knew there was a customer inside. I was in the middle of changing back into my own clothes preparing to leave. All of a sudden, it was pitch black. I couldn't see my own feet on the ground. After I first called out for the lights to be turned back on, an employee responded that they were closed and that it was 9:30. It was definitely 9:28. I responded that it wasn't 9:30 and that it didn't matter because I wasn't dressed and couldn't see anything. The lights remained off. I shouted several more times for the lights. Nothing. I started to shout that I could easily trip & injure myself and/or leave my personal belongings behind. Eventually, the lights came back on. What a horrible experience. The store still had dozens of customers inside. I won't be coming back. There is a Nordstrom Rack next door with a superior customer experience. read more

Went this past Sunday and had a horrible experience. I have two kids so shopping with them is hard enough. While at the fitting room I felt extremely violated by the employee. She grabbed the clothes out of my hands and made sure there was nothing else on the hangers and then gave them back to me with attitude. After trying on the clothes, I gave her back 6 out of 8 items. I wanted to purchase the other two. She insisted on seeing the two items of clothing to make sure that the tags were on them and that they were the items that I tried on. Holy cow I felt like a criminal. Mind you I have two fussy kids, and my 8 year questioning Me why I'm being treated this way. Been to this store so many times. Very unsatisfied with any refund you make. When you purchase goods, everything goes smooth. But when it comes to refund, God help you. So many angry faces appeaser and you need to wait for Store Manager's approval, OMG. IT happened to me for the refund of a pair of slippers they clamed that the merchandise do not belong to TJ Max, and you need to argue about it, eventhough the tags are attached and have receipt on your hand. read more

This is a pretty good TJ Maxx in terms of cleanliness, inventory, and employees. I occasionally stop in when I'm visiting the Nordstrom Rack next door and usually find something to purchase- they have the softest fleece blankets that are just $12.99, name brand kitchen supplies, Essie and OPI nail polish, popular fragrances like Britney Spears', Pink Sugar, Justin Bieber, etc. The store is pretty orderly and the employees are nice and efficient. Worth a stop if you're in the shopping complex! read more
